Had green hornet smoothie and salmon panini, I forgot to take a photo and ate it so fast…delicious. Nice atmosphere for hanging out and enjoying live music with healthy food.

This place was a nice little surprise find on a Sunday morning!The young lady helping us was very patient and helpful, as this was our first visit here. She even helped me save $1 on my sandwich by ordering from the Sunday brunch menu.My lox, tomato, onions, and capers with cream cheese on an everything bagel was delicious! The bagel was fresh and soft. In all the right ways. All the parts were in tasty harmony. My husband said his egg, bacon, and everything bagel was good too - and the bonus of fresh fruit on the side.The atmosphere is very chill and comfortable, with the accent of fresh yellow roses on each table. I can imagine later in the day/night, especially with live music, this place gets busier but hangs on to that vibe. Well have to check it out!

Ill note the one negative up front - their service gets slow if its packed because late nights appear to only have two people on staff. I dont mind that, though, because the food is an excellent accompaniment to some of the best live blues music Ive ever heard, Dave Good (and many friends)s tribute concert-shaped outpouring of love for Robert Cowan. Its a cozy place you genuinely want to be in and are reluctant to leave.

So I’ll start this off by saying I have been here a couple times mostly for take out, smoothies, bagels etc. It’s ok but kinda high prices for the quality. Staff haven’t been the nicest but I can get over that. I came here to complain because I use the laundry mat in the same parking lot and every Tuesday they have some sort of event where drunk people come here in droves…IN THEIR CARS. The amount of times I’ve watched my own car or other cars get dinged, scratched or literally hit by drunk people coming here is astounding. It’s a small parking lot as it is and they take up every spot in the evenings despite there being street parking on the road right next to the place. Seems like they’re encouraging people to drive drunk to or from their restaurant.

What a disappointment. I popped to check out the place after taking my cats to the vet because of a BOGO coupon I had on a paid coupon site. I ordered a latte and cake, and the staff had no idea how to use it. They asked me to wait. 10min later, no one had helped. An alternative staff member came and made my coffee. Another 15-20min passes, and I start to worry about my cats, so I pop out to check. Orginal staff woman runs out to tell me to pay, as if I hadnt been trying to pay for half an hour. We get inside, and she rings me up again, then tries to refuse the coupon 😒 because I hit redeem now IN FRONT OF HER, and it showed redeemed, along with the date. The woman accuses me of trying to run out on the bill when I went to check on the cats and tried to charge me full price again. What a racket. They have no idea where their own products come from (I asked the source of the baked goods), no idea how to redeem their own promotions, and NO idea how to treat people.

This is my favorite spot near home! I call it the one stop shop lounge. Most during the week you can go grab a delicious bite breakfast/ lunch cooked meal. My favorite breakfast is the chicken and waffles. In the evening on weekends there’s always great entertainment you can go and have some wine. OH YEAH!!! THE OWNER FRANK IS AMAZING 🎉. parking is good and it’s such a beautiful neighborhood. Definitely beats any nearby Starbucks.

Came in Wednesday and got the (wine Wednesday) deal for 3 glasses for $12 and they have a great Sommelier “Frankie” that cycles the wine every two weeks and very energetic with the explanation of grapes that made the wines. Frank the owner serves very delicious food made with fresh ingredients with beautiful presentation.

First time patron. My daughter said Cmon mom lets go! So off we went dogs and all. Its a little corner Cafe. People apparently order to pickup because it was empty and then after we got there and placed order, everyone and their mother came. Lol.So I ordered a Tuna panini with provolone. OH MY GOODNESS. Mouth watering surprise of pure yummy. It was my first meal of the day and an early dinner, so I was famished!The Mexican Mocha was authentic. I could almost swear they used Abuelita! So yummy and me and my daughter both ordered large! 😋 😋 😋 (we ate outside).Be patient if u can. Remember there is a staff shortage. I had to apologize for not having enough empathy, but I did mention that I was starving, like really hungry (I think maybe a little hangry, too). It was worth the wait.

This place is a real mixed bag. The food and coffee is great, though expensive. The number one problem though is their hours are EXTREMELY inconsistent, closing early, not being open at all, etc. Not a reliable option in the slightest. There doesnt seem to be communication about when they will or wont be open, and Ive even seen them ignore people knocking on the door instead of just explaining that theyre closed. While service is with a smile, you can often be waiting for unreasonable amounts of time at the counter before they even notice you standing there, due to inattentiveness. Ambiance is nice, except when the place has been inexplicably taken over by some super loud band, transforming the environment into something radically different than whats typical or expected. In short, I *want* to like this place, but I cant bring myself to recommend it.

I’ve gone twice to this establishment within a few days. Both online orders.The first day, I got a veggie panini, a club panini, and an order garlic fries.When I walked in, the hostess was eating fries off an order and approached me..talking with food in her mouth.I brush it off because the location was serving an event towards POC. The environment was nice to enjoy even though I arrived at my orders pick up time.The paninis were good. The garlic fries were old and didn’t taste good at all.A few days later, I was able to place an order and given an ETA despite the establishment being closed.Instead of calling me when they opened to rectify, I reached out to them and they refunded the money. No customer service or calling to see if I even wanted the order anymore.The coupon they gave me wasn’t even good after I had used it on the refunded order.Incredibly disappointing and such a waste of time/gas.

I am not often in the area, but I make it a point to drop by the Spacebar if I’m near by. It’s a friendly place, the owners and others are very helpful and kind.I’ve always been happy with whatever I’ve ordered, from drinks to food! The bowls are great, especially if fresh fruit is offered and the Açaí bowl I last ordered was large and exactly what I was looking for!I had one of their breakfast bagels recently and the eggs were perfectly cooked and the bagel was not the typical firm and dry type, but light and with a nice crunch to it!!I’ve had their burgers and fries and they were also great! The coffee was very reasonable and also very good!

We actually live close to SpaceBar and have come here for years....over 10. But today wasnt good. The food is good for sure but its a cafe not a sit down restaurant. Me and my kids had a cup of tea, a salmon bagel, acai bowl and a vegetarian brown rice and quinoa bowl with side of yucca fries (which were terribly dry and over breaded) . The cost with a nice tip was $57!!! To top it off they do have a side patio where we can chill with the dog, who came with us. But the patio lock was broken and we couldnt get in. We waited for about 15 minutes for the owner who barely acknowledged us. He grabbed a table off the patio so we could sit outside since the place isnt dog friendly inside. But really after all that and for the $$$ I wish we had taken our weekly night out somewhere else. The waitress was kind but the atmosphere for the price was not worth it. And after all these years maybe the owner could acknowledge a neighbor? Give me a hot tea on the house? I dont know just really not sure Ill be back here.

The comedy nights at Space Bar are so much fun. They give stage time to new local comics and always have some seasoned performers on the bill as well. The service tends to be slow because of the crowd, but it is done with a smile, and the food and drink are good.

Very poor service.My friend and I ordered “bottomless mimosas” with a bagel with cream cheese and avocado toast. Needless to say, the food was subpar and looked and tasted like something I could easily make from home. A fly landed in our pitcher halfway through our first mimosa, and when I brought the pitcher back to the cashier to ask for a new one, she told me I only payed for one and didn’t replace it! Didn’t even refill half of a pitcher to replace what was thrown away due to something out of our control. Later on, the cashier came back to our table to say that the pitcher was only for one person and that’s why she didn’t refill it (even though she brought out two glasses with the initial pitcher!), so she came back with a single mimosa glass for my friend who payed. Apparently, sharing the entire bottle of champagne with whom you’re sitting with is taboo here. Overall, as a customer I felt undervalued and would have chosen somewhere else to eat if I knew how bad the service was.

I absolutely LOVE this place! I discovered the veggie wrap and now order it a couple times a week. It’s stuffed with veggies and dripping with an amazingly delicious pesto/ranch sauce that’s to die for. The owner and staff are also great! They know me by name and it’s always a bright spot in my day to swing by and grab my wrap. It’s been especially great during COVID where everywhere you go you feel like just a number funneling through, but not at the Space Bar Cafe!!

As soon as things started opening up again I called around to some local coffee shops to see if any of them were open for dine-in so I could get out of the house to get some work done. This was the third place I called and the first one who was open for dine-in, and Im SO GLAD they were, because I love this place, Ive been coming here 2-3 times a week since I found them. The owner Frank and the rest of the staff are all super nice. They have a great cold brew coffee, and sometimes at the end of the day Ill get a beer because they have a wonderful beer selection as well. Im meeting a buddy to try the food tomorrow, it always looks and smells so delicious. Also the music is great to vibe to. This is my spot for sure.

Went in looking to see a friend who does stand up comedy. It was a miscommunication about it being open mic.So we decided to stay away, glad we did. The show was neat and we enjoyed ourselves. We didnt order food, we just drank beer which was good. The waiter and waitresses were great and attentive. The host and hostess were great! Its a nice spot good interior and comfortable. Met a friend here and really enjoyed this place. The have all sorts of smoothies, teas and organic coffees as well as a good variety of breakfast and lunch items. I enjoyed the french toast and fruit smoothie. The place feels very comfortable with music playing in the background that was not overbearing. They have a great selection of organic teas and coffee so I will definitely had back again. Just too many good things on the menu.

I LOVE this place. It has quickly become a tradition for me to go here and take advantage of their delicious food and beverages. They have kombucha on tap which is awesome! (I recommend the raspberry flavor) I also love the smoothies they have, my favorite is the green hornet; it even has avocado! Then the Acai Bowls are also delicious. I love the atmosphere, the people are nice and actually care about their customers. Love this place. Cant say it enough.

Place had potential but not worth the stay in my honest opinion. After waiting 20 minutes to be attended, my friend asks for the wifi password (thus the name “Internet cafe”) and the guy up front asks immediately asks me if I’m going to get something, completely avoiding my friends question. I’m set back a little bit by this question and we’re told we can’t have access to the WiFi unless we BOTH plan on purchasing food/beverage. We just picked up our stuff and left. Place was not packed to the brim and the staff did not look busy. All but I’d say four seats were being used, including us. I don’t know, people might think differently but as long as a place isn’t really busy or full of customers trying to find seats after purchasing their food, this just made 0% sense to me. Not to mention the main wooden table we sat on was very sticky, presumably of someone who had ate or drank there prior.

Space Bar is my favorite casual coffeehouse in SD. They also serve craft beers, wine, and kombucha on tap. They have a multitude of salads and sandwiches that are cooked to perfection. Thursday and Friday night are open mic nights which is a lot of fun. The performers are just so full of joy. I highly recommend this place if you just want to chill

Also - this place gets SLAMMED by Uber Eats....so if you have to wait a while, it’s because they are filling all of their online orders. I saw some people complained in reviews about the wait and it’s definitely not staff’s fault. Be patient and you will not be disappointed!

I had the most beautiful night at Thursday Open Mic nite. My friends Becky and Chris took me there for my BIRTHDAY !The owner Frank was so kind and did an amazing job cooking and serving the guests. We all ate Paninis and buffalo chicken fries cooked to perfection.Everyone of the musicians were kind and I was encouraged by their singing and playing originals and covers. When I got up to play my songs I was warmly received by the crowd.

I came in around noon, my friend and I split a bagel and I ordered a cappuccino. The bagel was decent but my cappuccino was literally half foam, I had to scoop so much of it out. The reason for the two stars is for the service, the lady working was very unfriendly and didnt seem to really know what she was doing. Not a family friendly joint-- they do not have high chairs. My wife and two young kids were met with what I would consider a rude, unwelcoming introduction to this internet cafe. We would have spent a good bit of money and most likely returned in the future, but our server (with headphones on?) seemed indifferent or willing to help us at all. So we left and wont be returning. Just wanted to let other parents out there know that they wont accommodate for children, and I think that deserves 1 star.

I went there today only because a group of us were talking about the best places to go for Acia Bowls. This was not one of them.Worst Acia bowl I have ever had in flavors and portion. Will never go there again, saw so many health violations. Staff was nice enough, but the gal who rings the register and takes money also cuts up your fruit without gloves. Even worse, she cuts them on the dish drain portion of a small stainless steel sink, that I saw other things placed on. So gross! Then after blending the Acia instead of using a spoon to get it out of the blender (which would have been so simple) instead she kept banging the side, and after only half would drop into the bowl, then proceeded to add tap water to the second half swishing it around to get it to pour in the bowl. Fortunately I got it to go, but I opened it in my car to look at it and it was all watery. Drove 4 minutes to my clients home, and removed the fruit to rinse them (who knows what cross contamination was on that sink).The flavor of the acia wasnt just watered down by the tap water, but even the center part that made it in the bowl before the water tasted like mostly blended ice, very little acia flavor. The fruit consisted of four slices of banana (half small banana), two small strawberries sliced up. There was very little granola, and I had to pay a dollar extra for a tiny sprinkle of coconut flakes and slivered almonds that may have equaled two whole almonds if put together. Standard price without the extras is $6.95. Then .50 cents extra for each additional item that in my opinion should be standard in an acia bowl. Topping additions include coconut, almond slivers, blueberries, and bee pollen. Bowl is small and will not fill you up, especially if you have to pour out half the watered down smoothie as I did.

Conveniently located, great coffee option other than Starbucks, owner was friendly and relaxed and introduced himself by name, café is nicely sized and offers food and drinks. Seems to be a bar and computer repair place as well. Creative space! :)
