My husband and I just moved to the Pasadena area and got connected with Derek as we started a search for a rental in the San Marino area.Although Derek specializes mostly in house sales, he spent nearly an hour chatting with me about the ins & the outs of the neighborhoods, which he knows so well. I was very touched by his warmth, openness and helpfulness, and and got a lot of insider information about how to find a great rental.I highly recommend Derek as someone that genuinely cares about people and wants to connect them with the best house for them, well-being, deeply knowledgeable of this area.

Purchasing a home is a life goal and a dream. For some of us it comes soon, for some of us it takes a little longer. When the opportunity, thankfully, presents itself; you can look at homes that are turn-key gems but yet, it does not feel like its the right one. After extensively searching in nearby communities we found what we were looking for right here in our town of South Pasadena. Our home purchase experience was complemented by and made by the guidance and experience of our excellent Real Estate Agent Derek Vaughan. Dereks promptness to our phone calls, questions, and emails helped our home purchase be completed in a short time frame, and he continues to share resources needed to improve our new home. Derek handled three transactions for our family in the past 18 months and we couldn’t be more grateful for his skill and expertise! About a year and a half ago, we met Derek while in search of our first home in South Pasadena. He patiently guided us through the first-time home buying process and helped us purchase a home that (against all odds in this market) was below market price. Derek never pushed us to make offers beyond our comfort level and had great market insight. As the red hot market evolved over the past year, we made a decision to sell our home and upgrade. Derek represented us in the sale, which resulted in an outcome that far exceeded our expectations and never would have expected. He brought in excellent talent to stage, photograph and market the property and had great recommendations for painters and handy people for fixing up/making improvements to sell the property. Derek held several open houses and took endless phone calls from us to help navigate the process. At the same time, Derek helped us purchase our second South Pasadena home, which we hope will be our “forever” home. He recommended a contractor, inspectors and other experts to check out the property and help us make sure the property was structurally sound. With Derek’s guidance, we were able to make a winning bid on a home that we love, and, even in the current environment, we don’t believe we overpaid. In short, Derek has been our South Pasadena real estate guru. He has incredibly deep knowledge of this market. We can’t imagine another agent that would have worked as tirelessly on our behalf or enabled us to secure three results that far exceeded our expectations.

My wife and I bought our first home with Dereks help - he was excellent. Knowledgeable, thorough, proactive, easygoing, responsive, and with plenty of stories to share. He knows the Pasadena area extremely well, and in our case knew all the things to watch out for when buying an older home (like updating the gas valve to an earthquake-safe design). If youre worried about anything youre signing, he wont hesitate to hop on video call and walk you through it. He was never directive, but always had relevant and good advice.And if you need recommendations on a contractor to fix up this or that after closing, Dereks probably got a guy.

I recently had a fabulous experience with my neighbor, realtor Derek Vaughan. For the last five years my husband and I had been helping my father navigate heartbreaking struggles with his life and his health, in the last years exacerbated by this confounded pandemic. I cannot believe that there is someone out there in this material World, where owning a home is every Americans dream and it has already been the experiences of everyone that you dontt know who to turn to, who to trust. Meeting, working with, and knowing Derek has been a true miracle. Nothing short of a miracle. Especially in LA, no one helps their fellow man ...Except for Derek Vaughan. I had gotten in touch about a home, not knowing nor observing who the agent was; however, I know now. It was Derek. He texted me and called me and even after I said I didnt think that house was for me, he asked what exactly and in detail did I want, what areas, every saingle thing. I told him. He has a website for you to view homes that are legitimate and very nice places. He immediately found more and told us about each of them. We took an Uber to the first place, but after, Derek offered to drive us to the other property which we are moving into on the 1st. He knew the agent on it, showed us the house and he even offered to take us as far as his house. Yes, his house. With Derek, there is nothing he is not very fully transparent about and introducing us to his Wife and friend from France, was completely a kindness from him. He wasnt helping us for money; he wwas helping us navigate through the scams, make offers or negotiate and push our application to speed things along. He is now someone I consider like family. His kindness, friendship and help is beyond beyond. He is attentive, always roots you on theoughout the processes that be and I have never in my life met a better, more informed, kinder Agent and Friend in my life. He has been there for us through trials and tribulations and got us to be more open and positive and we got the place he showed us. He is unbelievably good at multitasking and his job, but he goes above and beyond. You can trust this amazing gentleman and you can also know you wont find anyone better than him when it comes to real estate. There is so much more I could say, but youd be reading my review of him for weeks, so I wont put you through that and end here.
