Sophies French Maids has been cleaning my house for 5 years. This is an owner operated business and Claudine, the owner, is always present to make sure the quality is high. She personalizes your cleaning to meet your specific needs. She is professional and easy to communicate with. She sends me a text a day or two before to remind me she is coming, and if necessary, she is able to adjust her schedule to meet my needs. She is also great with dogs.

I am stunned. Claudine and her assistant were both available on a Saturday on short notice because I have a tenant moving in tomorrow, and other plans fell through.They went after dirt like Navy SEALs go after their targets! They got dirt out of places where I didn’t even know they were places! And they worked so fast, it literally bowled me over. And they were extremely knowledgeable as well… They had an array of cleaning products, each one designed for a very specific purpose, and they made excellent recommendations that I had never heard before about how to keep very many individual items clean, ranging from parts of my dishwasher to parts of my oven vent.Claudine is trilingual, English, Spanish, and French. They only took about three hours, and the house is literally amazing. They literally were in motion the entire time.… It was stunning to watch, and I was running around doing a lot of work myself.I will clearly work with them again, and I recommend him to anybody.

I have used Sophie’s French Maids cleaning service a few times and really like them. They are heads and tails better than any other cleaning service agency I have ever used before. Very easy to work with; booking times is simple and they are always right on time. My home is sparkling after they leave with everything right in its spot. Very happy with the service. I had a bathroom that needed a deep clean, I tried a few other cleaners previous that did not do a good job. Sophies maids, did a fantastic job. Got all the hard water off the shower door and deep cleaned the tile and grout. They were on time, quick and efficient. I would highly recommend! Will use their services again.

From where to start ? She’s honestly the worst housekeeper I ever had. First my husband choose her because she’s speak French and I French speaking he just wanted me to be able to ask her exactly what I wanted, she would leave my house is a worst stage that she enter it empty the dish washer and leave all the plates silverware etc on a top on the counter ! The only bed we have look like my husband did it (Sorry Honey) always look confuse and in a hurry or have some sad story about something to her honestly I wish I look her up ! Do not work with her I’m saving you from Claudine !You seems to be have problems understanding a lot of people, all the reviews a read we all complain about the same thing you are just messy and not focus nothing to do with my style honey it’s not difficult to make a bed and clean and water plants while I lefts instructions ! I think that Claudine does an okay job. But there are too many things she overlooks or forgets for the price she charges. I’ve asked multiple times for her not to park in my driveway and block me in she does it every time she comes. She forgets to clean major things like scrub toilets or clean the kitchen sink. I’ve also asked multiple times for her to leave her key inside for safety purposes and she has yet to remember. If she did an excellent job and was very thorough I would pay her higher price but it’s not worth the hassle.

Super impressed by the whole experience of having someone else doing the job where I used to spend an entire day doing it myself. If your time is valuable let the pros do it, I have other things to do. I first used this company about 6 months ago when I was moving into my place, I called them on very short notice, I believe a day and they where able to fit me in and get my place cleaned up on time and at a great rate, they where one of multiple companies I had called the first time and I would have been days or a week out with anybody else. Here I am moving out half a year later and they are my go to! They again where able to fit me in on very short notice and they showed up on time ready to take care of my house! And mind you, our home was UNFURNISHED AT THE TIME. All you needed to do was sweep, dust, wipe and mop. Your reply to me still is full of excuses and your apology is insincere and now putting the hiring on someone else when that was not the case at all. My dissatisfaction is YOU NOT RENDERING THE HOURS AND WORK YOU AGREED TO. How many other dissatisfied customers did you bribe to change the rating???? I did not accept your bribe because its unethical and Im good to lose that money to warn others of your horrible dishonest service.The 4+ star google rating is extremely inaccurate for this business. I must say that I was helping a friend, and asking cleaning companies for quotes. Claudine (Sophie) is a true professional. She was very clear in her communication about costs, and time, and availability and allowed for some flexibility so we could book the right time for us. This was an urgent request and she made it work. She came with her cleaning partner, and they did a fantastic job in the amount of time we agreed on. It was a difficult job, with some drain limitations, and some years of buildup. Not only did they do a great job, they gave us tips on how to do certain things that we hadnt thought of. It is an old house that requires special care and attention. I cant recommend them enough. I have employed more than 30 cleaning companies throughout my career both personally and professionally and I can tell you these ladies were by far the easiest to work with, most hardworking, and made us feel comfortable. I love supporting locally owned small businesses because the owners really care about the job. They arent working for some company that is paying them less and keeping more. I am paying the owner directly, and that feels really good. If you have any doubt about booking this company stop and just book. We were in an emergency situation and Claudine and her team really came through in a stressful situation and were extremely supportive. We hired Sophies French Maids to do a pre-move in clean after we remodeled our small, 1000 sq ft. home in Santa Barbara. We prepaid $300 and were deeply disappointed in the results. There was sawdust in the cabinets, handprints on the glass and tape and adhesive still on walls and appliances; all things the $300 post-construction clean was supposed to cover.I called the owner to see about how to deal with the lackluster cleaning and she offered to come over wipe down the surfaces pointing out that it was not that hard. I declined and have spent hours vacuuming and washing so we could unpack. This might have been an off day but her aggressive, dismissive response to my call leads me to suggest fellow Santa Barbara residents look elsewhere for cleaning services.

If you enjoy cleaning prior to hiring a professional cleaner, and then cleaning after paying for a professional cleaner, then you may be perfectly satisfied with Sophie’s French Maids. Because my time is limited, this business model didn’t work for me! After speaking with a representative from Sophie’s Maids I was quoted at $200 if the home was in good shape. They will not clean windows or walls. My husband and I thoroughly cleaned our home prior to arrival. So much so I considered cancelling the scheduled cleaning because there was so little left to do. I was committed to leaving our rental in immaculate condition so proceeded with the scheduled cleaning. Less than two hours upon Sophie’s Maids arrival I received a text message requesting payment for $250. This was above what was quoted, and by my estimate they spent less than two hours in our three bedroom home. I paid, assuming I’d return to an exceptional job. This couldn’t have been further from the truth. When we returned the floors, counters, and floorboards were unclean. So much so that I’m some cases, they were dirtier than the condition we had left them in. My husband and I proceeded to spend two hours do the job we paid them to do.I did communicate my dissatisfaction with the company and she did offer to come back. Unfortunately we only had 24 hours, so it wasn’t an option. For this reason only, a single star was acceptable.On a side note - I never leave reviews. I simply dont have time... whether the review be positive or negative. If one positive thing comes from my experience, I hope to dissuade others from wasting their money.

Claudine has been has God send, I do not know what her help. She is fast, efficient, and respectful. Her prices are competitively low I trust here in my home when I am gone. Added plus, her son is a magician of window cleaning.

The owner arrived and asked to be paid up front 250$ I was a bit skeptical but we did it anyway. First the house is 800 sq ft 2 beds 1 bath . 250$ was steep but that was ok if they did what was promised. I wanted a deep clean for my daughters place. I called her specifically and went over what I wanted via text and phone call. She said ok. She came at 8 am left at 11 am. The house was not deep cleaned at all! I called her she said sorry your daughter said it was ok. Never did she offer to remedy this issue. She then refused to talk to me and said I will only take to your daughter. We both called her after my daughter got off work and she never answered. I have pictures of what she did as well. I can’t believe anyone can call this clean. I’m in shock.

Great service! The owner actually does the work as well rather than merely coordinating it so shes knowledgeable and involved. She prefers text over phone calls (a definite plus) and provides very clear information about what will and will not be included before she starts.

There is erratic and unprofessional behavior including entering my home without consent and keeping my house keys after she was fired. She charged my credit card multiple times while O was out of town and her cleaning system was ok but not work the amount t she charges.Every member of my family found her to be a bit spastic and we get very uncomfortable
