This is a lovely mix of small town and big service. The airport is large enough to accommodate large commercial planes, but its small enough that you still have to walk down actual steps to the ground when you get off the plane. The facilities have recently been enlarged and updated, so everything is fresh. There are multiple rental car agencies on site, with very convenient services. There is a restaurant, and because its Sonoma County, a wine bar. TSA screening is a breeze. Definitely the first choice for Sonoma County or anywhere nearby.

Theres nowhere to find out what youre supposed to do and how it works. Theres no one at the American Airlines desk... and the Alaska Airlines desk girl says she only helps Alaska Airlines people.... also, NO ONE can understand what they say over the intercom

Fast and efficient, well staffed security. Easy parking. Nice restrooms. Ample seating at the gate with charging stations at almost every seat. This is a smaller airport and currently under construction, but well maintained and staffed. I look forward to visiting when construction is complete, and I hope Alaska adds a direct flight to Boise from this airport!Construction is done!! Airport is looking nice and new, front entrance is fully operational. Airport was crowded today, so glad I had an hour for security. Easy security process. Happy to have access to this Airport in Sonoma County!

As a previous review stated, the airport is heavily under construction right now. This is fall 2022. I’m not sure the estimated completion timeframe, but there are very limited amenities in the airport itself. There is however a lot of seating!in addition to the construction - perhaps this is adding stress to the employees, but everyone seems unusually tense and easily angered.From the very beginning, there was an upset security guard at the airport drop off entrance that was yelling at drivers who had pulled over beyond the construction zone that states do not park here to park in a small parking lot where she was telling everyone that they would be fined if they didn’t move immediately; she claimed there was some sort of signage directing to a drop off point but I never remember seeing it and I said soInside of the main lobby, there were several passengers asking for directions on where to go because even though there was signage literally everywhere it is a bit confusing. You got to follow the signs on the floor. There’s also signs taped up everywhere! Perhaps it’s just a little overwhelming for everyone #OverCommunicationand even then their questions were met with annoyed employees’ curt answers. The security TSA team didn’t seem as upset. Perhaps it’s only the people who are encountering the first wave of bewildered and confused guests.But from the get-go, airport Karen at the entrance is probably setting the tone for every passenger… Not necessarily in the best way.

Love the little airport with a direct flight from Phoenix to my home away from home. Great food and wineries. Beautiful coast line and magnificent Redwood forests. Be sure and go to Bodega Bay and Bodega Headlands. Lots of scenery and hiking on the coast. Also, Armstrong Woods near Guerneville is a must visit. Healdsburg has great food and shopping. Its a fun and friendly place to visit.

This is a real treasure of an airport. A small, well-run local airport with the efficiency and amenities of a large airport. Cuts 2-1/2 hours of ugly traffic normally required to drive to SFO or OAK. If you’re visiting Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino or Lake counties, fly into STS next trip.

Horrible experience flying out of this airport which is unfortunate because we really enjoyed our short trip in Healdsburg. We flew in for a quick two days for our 10 yr wedding anniversary. We bought a cutting board / platter at a winery as a gift for my parents watching our children. Security would not let us carry it on the plane because it is a bludgeoning object. We barely shoved it in our carry on bag to check it but it was too late, they said the bag would not make it on the plane, so I had to just leave it for someone else to take as their own - interesting - is this what they do to get tourists souvenirs? They were way overly staffed in security for an empty airport and overly strict considering we are TSA precheck. There should be clear guidelines and the same expectations at every airport. Not sure why its different here just because it is a small airport. You obviously had plenty of staff for TSA precheck option. Not to mention after our conflict over the cutting/platter board, my husband was randomly selected to search all his carry on items. This ruined our wonderful trip, the first we had taken in 5 years without kids and we were low on money, the cutting/platter board was the only thing we bought on the trip as a gift to my parents watching our kids. Im glad these people are really protecting against the bad guys. Btw, looked it up after the fact and it says cutting boards are an acceptable carry on item (final decision rests on checkpoint officer - again, can we have more concrete guidelines please). They were not understanding or trying to find a solution. Just horrible. Anyways, just a heads up to anyone trying to bring a wine cutting/platter board home from wine tasting.
