I had an installation by a different installer who did not completely finished the job and had some miswiring. Sunpower would not help with the job and the installer was completely out of touch. Sunpower recommended solar tech as a master installer. I called yesterday morning about completing the job and within one day they were on site finishing up the installation.If I had known about them last year before installation I would have picked them.Dan and Daniel were both great repair technicians.I highly recommend their company.

Hurricane Hilary ripped our solar and metal panels off the roof (August 20, 2023) in the mountains of San Diego East County. Had a hard time finding a company helping us getting this mess fixed. SolarTech and Roofing by SolarTech stepped up and got us back up to speed!

I’d give a zero star if I could. Worst company ever in every way other then the sales rep. Went months without it even running or working when I was told it was good so after $35k I still had a bill with little to no change and after a month of it finally running the battery stops working. And now back to generating nothing and got no refund back for any of the months that they messed up on their end. Stay away from this company by all means.

Staff is very nice, however the project has taken over 6 months and is still not completed. Their communication has been slow to respond and not forth coming. We have had to contact them to find out what was going to happen next and most often we were given 1-2 days notice of when they were going to be at our home. The crew, though friendly, left trash on top of the roof that blew into our pool, broke tiles that we had to find out by our roofer, yes they came back to fix them and we had a new electrical panel installed and the finish work looks sloppy. I hope the project is finished soon and in the end we will be happy with our choice, but at this time, I would not recommend this company.

Weve had our system for 6 years now and it seemed a little off this year. We blamed it on the long, cloudy spring, but then Temecula has been getting hit with 90 degree temps these past couple weeks. The pool would never get higher than 81 degrees and that was on its own, the solar was to go to 100 degrees max. I called the company, talked with Greg, and within 5 minutes on the phone he troubleshooted the problem and the jets are now pumping out HOT water. The toggle was incorrect and the system was on when it should have been off and vice versa. Switch got turned off by accident. THANK YOU Solar Tech and especially Greg!

We have two solar electrical systems. The monitoring panel for the original one has an error message. William spent time on the phone with Sunpower to diagnose the issue and they determined in the end that the whole monitor should be replaced. During the troubleshooting, William patiently answered my thousand questions, which I greatly appreciated!

Our search for a solar contractor because we wanted a Sunpower brand so we expand my current system. We have always liked Sunpower because it’s best solar panel, have individual inverter, never had an issue from our old panels, app is easy to understand, never had issues with customer service(when we needed before), 25 yr warranty & rated as the most efficient solar panels in the market.Met up with Ali as my agent. He listened carefully what we wanted & what our needs. He gave a great presentation about Sunpower and their battery, which made me more convinced on what I know about Sunpower. He reassured me that my old system will work well with the new one. He also suggested things that we might want base from our needs. We gave us detailed options on systems, lease vs buying and also payment plans. We ended up buying our system.Prior to this expansion, we heard a lot of horror stories my friends experienced when they had their system installed. We had some delays on the start of our installation but it was understandable ( it was raining a lot that several projects would be moved). When they started, everybody was very nice and professional. They explain things to us thoroughly and reinforced things we forget. They are all accommodating to our needs because they are aware I work nights. Bree was always easy to talk to. She coordinates everything we need well. Derik was also very helpful. He came to our assistance even when he was already off. Ali was still reachable even when we needed help outside office hours. Max, assisted with the inspection, was very helpful also and explained things to us on what is happening.All in all, we are happy with this company. From beginning to end, we highly recommend them if you are thinking of getting a solar system.

The Customer Service is awesome. The on-site crew was terrific, although due to scheduling issues and the depth of my issue, it requires a follow on appointment to resolve. Hopefully, we can re-group next week to complete.The return crew identified the failed GII as a bad inverter. One would think SunPower would be more proactive about a down system, especially because the former homeowner did the install as a lease.Buyer beware…SunPower should be the last choice of companies to work with. Start with SolarTech and forget the rest.

I love SolarTech! They originally installed my solar and anytime there is a problem they are out right away. Everyone I’ve dealt with has been knowable and kind. I love how they monitor my system to make sure it’s working. They sent me an email stating I had 2 panels that were not producing, they set the appointment and in a couple of days were out here to fix it.

1 of our newly installed panels doesnt work due to broken Microinverter. Took a few weeks just to have a tech come out. After checking, we now still have to wait for them to order a new microinverter and schedule to come back. Whats the point of having a tech come out to fix without some simple spare parts handy. And the entire process just takes too long.Updated post: after 4 months, I am told that they are still working with the manufacturer to order the microinverter. This is just too terrible.

We recently finished our 3.35kW solar install with Solar Tech, and we are extremely pleased with the process and finished result. After dozens of quotes from local installers, I found Solar Tech offers the best value of any residential solar company. We were able to get a SunPower X21 Equinox AC system (with a 25yr warranty and one of the most efficient system options) at a price comparable to other mid-range systems. We also decided to upgrade our main service meter panel, which turned out great and gives us the capacity to add additional solar in the future if needed. Our energy consultant Drew was very professional and made sure that our install went smoothly every step of the way. This company values their customers regardless of how large or small the installation size is, and does a high quality job on the installation. Id happily recommend Solar Tech for residential solar installations.

All these reviews are about solar. SEEMS NOBODY MADE MY MISTAKE AND HAD THEM DO A ROOF WITH SOLAR.With NEM 3 coming, we wanted to get solar but had a 20+ year old roof. I only considered solar companies that also had roofing divisions. Well known names that you’ve heard ads for. The Sunpower system convinced me and we signed the contract. Then we waited. And waited. SEVEN MONTHS, WE WAITED FOR A ROOFING DATE. During that seven months, I got multiple calls from the solar side wanting to schedule the solar install. I told the girl, every time, that we needed a new roof first. APPARENTLY, THE ROOFING AND SOLAR DIVISIONS DONT TALK TO EACH OTHER. The salesman tried to write it off as a new girl in the office but like I said, I got several calls over the seven months we were waiting for a roof.The day finally came in October, at the start of the rainy season. A subcontractor showed up for tear off- the salesman said they don’t use subs. Roofing crew showed up the next morning. Foreman said he was going on vacation but our job would be managed by one of his crew. That was the first big red flag. THE WRONG UNDERLAYMENT HAD BEEN DELIVERED TO OUR HOUSE and they couldn’t do the job that day. Our house is maybe five miles from their El Cajon office. Seems it would have been easy enough to get the materials delivered to the house that day. But the crew left mid-morning, and LEFT THE ROOF EXPOSED.It rained that night from midnight to 3 am. I know because I was up the whole time on bucket brigade. We had water streaming into our house because we had no roof. The crew showed up expecting to put roofing materials on wet plywood. The roofing manager showed up after I called him. He promised they would take care of everything but when I asked for professional water mitigation, he brushed me off. I argued with him for hours until he finally said he would “bring some fans”. By then, I had talked to my insurance company who informed me that failing to do professional flood mitigation would threaten the claim. A few fans in the house were not going to be adequate. The flood damage company showed water in every single wall in my house. Every wall had to be opened, saturated insulation removed and dried. We lived in a construction zone for months. ALL BECAUSE AN INCOMPETENT ROOFING CREW FAILED TO TARP THE ROOF.Solar was installed on the new roof and is working fine. It was a long, painful process to get to the end. If you need a new roof before getting solar, RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Go with PALOMAR SOLAR. My neighbor used them. Roof went on without a problem.

Tech showed up on time and repaired the leak on a recently installed solar pool heating system.Edit - 3-14-2024My solar heating system installed by SolarTech seemed to be running constantly when the pool pump was running. Contacted SolarTech and they put me in touch with Greg who came out and checked the system and determined the settings in my EasyTouch panel needed to be adjusted. He was informative and took the time to explain to me how all the settings should be set. I also learned a few tips on how to save energy during the winter months. Will definitely use SolarTech for all my future pool maintenance and repairs.

We had SunPower in our last house because they are the best panels you can get. Having a less than desirable experience with longer term customer service with the last installer we searched for new company to work with. We interviewed many, and was very glad we settled on SolarTech. Mark Albano, our sales rep was able to walk us through everything and answer all our questions. If there was something he couldnt answer he had the owner call us directly and walk through our concerns/questions. We built a new home and oversized our system given we knew we would likely add an electric car and power walls. They were great working with us as we had basically a year long install from hardwiring getting everything in the walls during drywall, then having to come back for panels several months later, and finally coming out several months later to actually turn the system on and pass final inspection once we moved in. They were patient and accommodating through this process. In addition we put on pool solar for our large pool that sits really close to the ocean and gets a lot of wind. Greg Chase, the solar manager came out to our project personally on install day to walk through the layout with the team and help us maximize the benefit we could ultimately receive from that system. He has gone above and beyond as we continue to learn our system FaceTiming on weekends and sending out crews immediately to make tweaks to improve functionality after deemed appropriate when the system had been up and running for a while. Obviously a newer client but having been working with them ongoing for 2 years now just getting things set up, our experience has been excellent and I hope it continues to be. I assume we will be using them to install battery walls soon! I highly recommend the Solartech team for all your solar needs.

I had SolarTech install 29 panels on my roof. The process started off with an appointment with JC who was extremely knowledgeable about the competitors products, solar in general, as well as the savings from solar. once I signed a contract. I was connected with a team of people that worked with the county for permits and contractors to do the work. The process was completely seamless and done in a timely manner. I have permission to operate from the electric company within a few days of completion on the project.The price was not even competitive with two other estimates that I received. It was far less than the competitors are usually do not go with a company because of price but when it’s over a $10,000 difference, you have to question why the competitors are gouging solar prices on their products that are less, in quality.

I recently gave solar tech another chance and contacted Ali for a quote on 3 battery packs for my solar system. He initially quoted me $37,500 and was supposed to come to pick up the deposit. However, when I called him to add a fourth battery, he suddenly raised the price to $52,700. This sudden increase made me feel like I was being scammed, especially since I had referred someone to the company who also wanted to install solar. It seems that the more business you give to this company, the greedier they become. This behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable, especially when a company fails to honor their original price quote. While Ali may seem like a nice guy, his actions have proven that he is willing to scam customers and is not a man of his word.

I recently had more panels added to an existing installation by SolarTech. I was glad I picked them the first time and felt the same about the upgrade. The crew was efficient, knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and picked up after themselves. While they were here I asked the foreman a few questions about solar charging for EVs, and he had a lot of knowledge on the subject. I appreciated their current technology understanding. The only issue I had, which they solved, was that during the installation, they had not determined if I had cathedral or attic-based ceilings. I have cathedral ceilings and they punched a hole into my dining room ceiling. I caught it before they drilled more and told them what was happening. They came our later and repaired the hole. SolarTech is simply the best, which fact I’ve known first-hand since 2017 when they installed my SunPower solar panels. Fiver years later, they just installed a NeoVolta battery, for which they even added an Ethernet switch so that I can monitor both the SunPower and the NeoVolta using Ethernet instead of wifi. What’s more, when there was a minor issue (not their fault but mine!), they even lined up a field service supervisor to come to troubleshoot on a Saturday, even though they normally don’t work on weekends! Fortunately I managed to flip the breaker correctly (duh…) and got things back on, thereby saving him a trip (from Julian to Clairemont at that). Not to mention that every single person I’ve dealt with from SolarTech has been just stellar, who clearly *enjoys* working there. We just completed solar panels installation last month.When the city inspector came, he listed three correction items including switching two breakers in my breaker box to meet safety requirements. But after solar mechanics did that, I smelled burnt scent in garage and after they left, I found that the light bulbs and ceiling fan in family room were burned out. I called solar company and they send the other guys came. They told me they didn’t do anything wrong and asked me to find electrician to fix the problem by myself. I did and spent $3700!!!! That’s not the worst thing. Next day, I just realized my heater and A/C, electric recycling chair and door bell were also burned out. My husband sent them a quote about all we extra cost but they only want to pay AC and ceiling fan part (not included labor fee). We got to pay more over $5500 to fix the problem they made and they only think they just need to pay $420 in it. We felt so unacceptable and asked them to take more responsibility last Wednesday. No any response even a word until now!!!We signed contract on Sep 2020, almost five months later, five solar panels can’t work appropriately and burned a lot of electric. Very disappointing service.

In my opinion, SolarTech has very competitive prices and the best service of any local company in this industry. Locally owned company. Amazing service from beginning to end. They helped me deal with my HOA and despite delays, got my system up and running right before the end of the year deadline. If you want solar...this is who should do it. They provide great monitoring and are always happy to answer questions. After my first full year of solar use, I paid a whopping $56 to SDG&E (for a 5600 sq foot home). Thank you, SolarTech!

I spent months researching different solar companies and actually unknowingly signed on with a different solar company at first. Needless to say that experience did not go well and we did not end up using that company. I came across SolarTechs add and decided to give them a call and Im so glad that I did. Steve personally came out to my house to talk about the panels available and how the process and tax credit would work. He was very upfront and honest and was able to get the work done in record time. I have not had one issue since my system was installed a year ago and actually just received an $88 refund from SDG&E. I have referred Steve to all of my friends and family who have also been extremely satisfied with system and process. There is no question that I would recommend SolarTech over any other solar company out there.

1 because I have to leave a review. They are unprofessional, misguiding customers JUST to get business, poor work quality and ethics. Over a year to install Tesla Powerwall without any updates, stating their installers are construction workers and are not skilled to do clean work and so customers have to put up (see pictures). Designing critical loads w/o customer involvement as customers find half backed up critical load at power-outages. When reported to Solar Tech project manager Paul LaShomb, one finds him angry and mad that customers are reaching out to him post installation, asking for $500 a circuit. Gino Salvaggio, is their sales rep, falsely assuring customers to lure contracts. After giving Gino business for first 2 powerwalls, I went with LA Solar for other 2 power walls, and no issues. In fact, they dont collect any funds and whole thing is funded by SGIP. Keep away from Paul and Gino at Solartech who bring shame to others at SolarTech

SolarTech just completed our community pool cabana major roof repairs and water solar panels replacement in March 2019. They have a Roofing division as well as a Solar panel division. They were very professional and completed the work in quick time, despite interruptions in this rainy season. We were concerned that they couldn’t complete it before school lets out for the spring break. They understood our concern and started the work earlier and worked around the rain in stages. Tony Vernetti, the supervisor of the project, coordinated both crews. The roof replacement was done by Brad Stamm, the Project manager, and his crew, Matt, Bernie, Rafael & Sergio. They covered our pool and cleaned up the debris. The Solar Division took down the old solar panels and replaced them with a size that fit our roof. Damian Iniguez, the Field Supervisor, explained the process and answered all our questions. The solar crew, Sean, Earl, Tyler, did a good job with the installation and left our pool area clean. We recommend them very highly.

The reason I chose solartech because theyre salesman and their managers really took the time to explain to me how solar works and how the financing works. It took me two weeks to decide whether to go with solartech or Baker Electric both good companies but solartech were very patient with me answered every single question I was able to call whenever I had another question with no hesitation to answer it. They also gave me a great deal on my panels I made it affordable for me so now I can enjoy the summer or any season of the year. Solartech also gave me a great warranty on the inverter the roof and the panels and the pricing was very competitive too. Id like to thank Jordan and Grant for not only representing the company but being very knowledgeable about the product and how it works I highly recommend solartech to everyone.

This is such a horrible experience 1st of all it is been about 3 month and they are not done I notified them of the city requirements but they ignored it and caused 6 weeks delays They did not have the required insurance for the city to issue the permit and took them forever to do it After all of that they dogged 24” x80 ft trench in my driveway and never back filled it yet for about 3 weeks now They missed appointments and showed up with no appointments multiple time. The labors went into my backyard without my permission and dumped dirty water from the trenches into my newly redone planters Add to all of that the lack of communication The job should be done this year but they said it won’t happen I am now missing my tax credit Not professional at all A friend of mine who recommended them is suffering with system issues too
