If you are looking for a residential mental health facility to go to this is the place! I met some great individuals! 🫶🏼 I appreciate the support I was given at SoCal Empowered, I’ve seen an improvement in myself.I decided to go back to So Cal Empowered for a second time at the end of the year Nov 2023 - Dec 2023 and left feeling more stable than how I went in. I was at Costa Bella my first and second time (HIGHLY recommend that location). Thank you to everyone who was supportive to me in some way shape or form from staff members to peers. Chef was definitely one of my fav he cook great, is kind, & so stylish! A special shout out to Arleen, Daron, & Evan 🫶🏼 Arleen is one of the sweetest individuals I’ve ever met. She genuinely loves her job and it shows, she is always willing to help a client out. Also, has a great smile 😊 Daron is caring. I appreciate the kindness and patience. Also, the group he leads are great! Evan is fairly new, he has a calming presence and is very easy going. One thing he told me that stuck with me is the word “perception”.

I was referred to SoCal Empowered residential rehabilitation program by Compassion Recovery outpatient program to get into a higher level of care to help overcome severe trauma. I was at the Lake Forest location in November/December of 2023.Everyone at SoCal was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. Very respectful, caring, thoughtful, friendly, and always checking in with all the clients to make sure everyone is receiving what they need.I would HIGHLY recommend SoCal Empowered to anyone and would like to give a special thanks (in no particular order) to Sue, Sean, Melanie, Nicolette, Kyle, Charlie, George. I won’t forget y’all!

So Cal Empowered is an excellent residential program that I had the opportunity to attend. I was struggling severely with my mental health, and So Cal helped me tremendously get back on my feet again. The entire staff is so helpful and nice I really felt safe there. I am incredibly grateful for the experience and the help I received from So Cal Empowered. They helped so much with my mental health journey. Highly recommend!

I recently had the privilege to spend a month at SOCAL Empowered. After having some mental health issues I knew I needed some help. From my very first day I was greeted with love, kindness, and compassion from the BHT staff, my case manager Melanie, my therapist Nicole and even the chef Levi who made us awesome meals. The doctor and my team helped me get my mental issues to a place where I could move forward. I highly recommend this place to anyone struggling with their mental health.

If you ask me, this facility has done miracles multiple times in my life, this is the BEST residential in America and there is no doubt they will continue to save lives in such a way that will leave an impact on your life, the dog Brookfield is amazing and has brought wonders to the life of the house. When I first arrived at the Lake Forest house I had no idea what to expect and I was in a really bad state at the time. I got a really warm welcome from all the staff and other clients and that helped me get comfortable. My therapist Nicole was amazing she’s my favorite therapist i’ve ever worked with and I can’t say enough good things about her. The rest of the staff is so amazing as well everyone is very kind, compassionate and supportive. Also chef levi will cook you some of the best food you’ve ever had. I really love how here you are able to learn about your mental health, skills and what not but also go out and just have fun I believe that’s a big part of recovery in mental health not just staying in one house all day and strictly focusing on your mental illness. Socal Empowered definitely changed my life for the better and I wouldn’t recommend any other program.

Before coming to socal empowered i was very heavily self medicating to cope with the reality that i had unknowingly created for myself. i was comfortable in familiarity that was chaotic and unmoving. i got stuck in stagnation that led to me considering whether or not living was even worth it. ending up having to come to this program is something i will forever be grateful for. for so long looking inward and feeling joyous was not something i was comfortable doing. i didn’t want to recognize that the pain i had been in wasn’t all my fault. being around caring staff and building relationships with everyone involved in my treatment led me to learn that there are teachers everywhere and there is love all around us. getting stuck at rock bottom isn’t necessary when ur around people that get it

The techs, case managers and therapists did everything they could to help me (even if I didnt appreciate it at the time). I know when I got there I was hating life and Id often resent the techs because they actually care! They made suggestions that I hated but were for my best interest. They want to make sure you are immersed in recovery but they also want you to have a good time as well.The groups were great, the activities were fun because they let us choose what to do, and unlike many other treatment centers, they provide actually healthy meals. They have great chefs that will accomodate your dietary needs.

I stayed at the Brasilia house for treatment. They were amazing and structured days. The staff were very personable and made you feel welcomed. My favorite staff was Brookfield, he is an emotional support dog owned by Kyle. They make an amazing team. Plus they have an Amazing chef, Levi. He makes healthy and delicious meals. Overall the best experience I have ever had during my time of need. So greatful for the Brasilia staff.

In March of 2023 I had the opportunity to attend a month-long program at SoCal Empowered. I say opportunity because it truly was a positive experience. I went into SoCal Empowered with an open mind (albeit with major depressive order and suicidal ideation) and was met by staff with a level of compassion I will never forget. From Behavioral Health Technicians to Case Managers, therapists to psychiatrists and nurses, the staff at SoCal Empowered was top notch. From the evening I arrived I felt that I mattered to the staff and that I had landed at a facility that truly cared about helping to stabilize my SI, depression, anxiety and medications.SoCal Empowered is an incredible program. Weekends were filled with enjoyable outings chaperoned by staff who understood all about social anxiety and the need for clients to be supported throughout those outings. I cannot speak highly enough about the wonderful staff at SoCal Empowered who truly had a life changing impact along my road to better health and wellness. Should anyone ever have the need to attend an inpatient facility I encourage you to read the reviews like I did when I was looking for a 30–45-day program.The reviews speak volumes and SoCal Empowered far exceeded my expectations. In fact, despite my intermittent social anxiety, I even attended an Alumni gathering and plan on attending more in the future.While some days and therapy sessions were filled with depression and low points, my overall experience was actually quite wonderful. I hope to never have the need to return to SoCal Empowered, but if I do, I wont be entirely bummed out about returning there. Its THAT good of a program.

This is a fantastic program that delivers on the promise to help with mental health crisis. I came in incredibly burnt out from work and within just a few weeks was feeling so much better! Every one of the staff truly cares and someone is always there to chat, connect, and support you. The one thing I would advise is to go aware that they take dual diagnosis patients so a lot of traditional medications are not allowed there. This was not communicated to me beforehand (and it seems there were some other miscommunications to other clients as well). I would 100% recommend SoCal Empowered, it is work, but if you complete the program it could change your outlook on life. I know it did with me!

This place literally saved my life. I came in scared, confused, and lost in life. Going in with severe depression, anxiety, suicide ideations/attempts, trauma and ptsd, I wasnt sure what to expect or if there was any hope left for me, especially with so many sketchy treatment centers. I was welcomed with open arms, kindness, compassion, and surrounded by people who made me feel cared about and supported. I truly do believe this is a world class facility. From my first day it became very clear that every staff member was not only passionate about their job but truly care about the clients journey to recovery and living a better life. Utilizing a holistic approach including therapy, practicing good habits and coping skills, medication, yoga, breathing exercises, meditation, outings to the beach, hikes, sunsets, and some of the best home cooking Ive ever had I had the opportunity to disconnect from the outside world and rediscover who I am and what my purpose is. I truly feel like a brand new person and am so happy to be in a position where I love life and all the beauty it has to offer. I want to give a special shout out to all the staff but especially Carina, Victor, Patrick, Hunter, Connor, Kamisha, Charlie, George, Kyle, Brookefield, and Melina for being so amazing. The bonds and friendships formed in such a close and safe place makes it truly feel like a 2nd family and an experience I will always cherish. My only regret is not entering into this life-changing program sooner. For anyone out there struggling or questioning if this program is the right choice for you, youre not alone and there is hope for you and this place changes lives as it did mine. SoCal Empowered brought hope back into my life. I had a 45-day stay, and I’ll admit not all of it was pretty, but mental health struggles aren’t pretty so that’s to be expected. The staff were excellent at responding to my needs and we even had some fun throwing ice off the deck as a coping skill. This place taught me that I can trust and believe in myself and my happiness again. I had some pretty cool housemates while I was there as well. We’ve all agreed to stay in contact once everyone is out to maintain a support network. I would be in a much different, darker place without SoCal Empowered. Thanks, y’all!!

My husband found SoCal Empowered for me at a time when I desperately needed more help. We couldnt find a 24/7 mental health residential place in Northern California (I live in San Francisco), so we optd for SoCal Empowered based on the reviews.It was absolutely worth it. I instantly felt safe. The full-time monitoring was gentle and consistent. Every single staff member was incredible at their job. The group and individual therapy sessions challenged me from day one to adapt my thinking about myself. As I eventually learned, by finishing the program 6 weeks later, it was all about learning how to redefine myself and setting the tone for my next growth stage.If you are reading this review and wondering whether you need a place like SoCal Empowered, wonder no more, just do it. I recently spent 33 days at Socal Empowered and I can honestly say it was a wonderful and helpful experience. I was in a dark place and immediately felt welcomed and cared for by the kind and compassionate staff and clients. I learned how to implement better coping skills and became physically and mentally stronger. The staff are exceptional, clearly care about the clients, and take pride in their work. I truly believe everyone could benefit from spending time at SoCal. I am grateful for the help I received and miss everyone that worked with me.

SoCal Empowered gave me the ability for a second chance. I came from Northern California to their program. Although initially it was uncomfortable before long I was chatting with the amazing staff and other clients. They take pride in making sure you are okay everyday. The amount of love and support they dish out is amazing. They are the reason that I now work in a treatment setting helping others like they helped me. Christians be wary when choosing So Cal Empowered. They teach that “suffering and pain are just that of pain and suffering” with no value. I asked to go to church every week and even asked to see a Catholic Priest every week. I was given excuses as to why this could not happen. We only got to go to church for an “outing.” Once. You are referred to as a client nearly every day by the staff. Constantly knocked down and reminded that you alone are the reason why you are here.. You are reminded that this is the lowest moment of your life.. The only benefit to So Cal is the beach and the brain mapping.

My Daugther completed the 30 day program and WOW! SoCal Empowered goes beyond being a facility; its a place of mental and internal healing is an exceptional program lies at its core. Her therapist Patrick and facility supervisor Kyle were a major success in her journey providing guidance with genuine care and understanding. Melina, Chef JJ, George and Charlie have also contributed to enhancing her experience by offering forms of support and comfort.Among the surprises, during her time at the facility was the therapy dog Brooke became a part of my daughters healing process. I am so greatful for my time at SoCal Empowered. I arrived knowing this is where I was going and the week leading up to my arrival I felt at peace with my decision but when I woke up the day I was to arrive, I was hit with horror and resistance. I was terrified to leave my family. I was terrified to be in a place I wouldnt know anyone. And in retrospect; I was terrified of getting better. I can say now that I am so proud of myself for moving past fear and putting myself first. It took some time to settle in but I completed the program after 36 days. I left with a voice that was previously silent, confidence that I can speak my truth, a better understanding of my trauma, tools to cope with anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation, AND a desire to keep living. The team at SoCal was great but there are some people that really stand out as part of my journey. My therapist Lisa, case manager Melanie, spiritual guide George, and technicians Carina, Daron, Victor, Marcus, and Charlie. I stayed at the Costa Bella house in Lake Forest. The house was clean and comfortable and has a beautiful patio tucked under large eucalyptus trees. There is a waterway that runs along the back side of the house which is beautiful when the rain pours (I was there for hurricane Hillary) but also be prepared for Mosquitoes. You can relax comfortably in the backyard if you cover up. There is a chef that prepares lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and the food was good most of the time. It was nice to only have to worry about making myself coffee and breakfast. We went to the gym twice a week and had lots of excursions to the park and beautiful beaches. After I completed my program I was invited to an alumni event where we did yoga in the park and got to meet others that completed the program. I am really looking forward to attending more alumni events. Another person I am greatful for is JP. He is one of the owners of SoCal and was the first person I spoke with when I was looking for help. If it were not for JP taking time to hear my cries and pushing for a way to be of service to me, I dont think I would be where I am today. I am forever greatful for the healing space that SoCal Empowered provided to me and for the people that serve there with love and compassion.

I love socal empowered, I had such an amazing time there, everyone there is so supportive and nurturing. The house was very clean in a wonderful neighborhood, the food was healthy and delicious and I felt very comfortable like I could be myself and get help working on what I needed to work on in an environment that empowered me then and has given me motivation still to this day. Honestly I have now been here twice and the program is fantastic. Karina and Vic are great BHTs as well as Kyle is the nicest Kyle Ive ever met which is suprising. George who did breathworks class and helped me achieve peace to the extent I could have not found myself. The therapist Patrick seemed a little unconventional but it worked out and the weekend outings were fun and the food was great. Honestly I would not pick a different place. Charlie was super sweet and duran was a big teddy bear. Melina was the best case worker Ive ever had.So this was the best Residential I have seen so far

There are so many wonderful things to be said about the staff, facilities and services at SoCal Empowered. This place started me on a trajectory that has changed my whole life, so what I choose to say is a huge “THANK YOU” to them!I came to SoCal several months ago to deal with some mental health symptoms stemming from many years of alcohol and drug use (which had left my life rather aimless and without purpose). I decided that happiness, however seemingly theoretical and elusive at the time, was something that I deserved. So I made the choice to go to detox and came to SoCal Empowered directly afterwards.It was my first time going through a process of detox and rehabilitation, and I was far from home. Initially when I checked in and was told that SoCal Empowered focused on mental health, I thought I had been brought to the wrong facility! I was quite surprised and yes perhaps even a little scared.Boy was I wrong. At each step they provided exactly the guidance, support and information I needed, all within a cozy and comforting environment. The staff here is skilled and knowledgeable, and they REALLY care about each client’s wellbeing and progress. There of course is structure (small group classes, 1-1 therapy, meetings with your physician) but it is all accomplished with the light touch that makes it feel like home. The housing accommodations are stellar and there are fun weekend outings provided, as well as trips to the store. Chef Madison is a joy, and her cooking is unbelievably good! You are truly taken care of here, and I recommend Socal Empowered highly to anyone seeking change, happiness, self-awareness and contentment. My time here was really amazing. I went in burnt out from my 9 to 5, depressed and with a pretty negative view of the world. I had never been to any kind of treatment before. So I searched for weeks reading reviews and calling places because, honestly, before my experience here I thought pretty stereotypical things about going to treatment facilities. I was worried I would be surrounded by people I couldnt connect with who were going in an out of episodes and such. But its not like that. The staff are all pretty youthfull, lively, and you can tell they care. Theyre young working professionals that made me feel like a real career path for myself was possible too. They check in, they listen, they communicate with the other staff so that everyone really knows whats going on with you and the other clients. We went to beaches, swam in the ocean, watched movies, made lots of art. The yoga and meditations were absolutely the best part for me. They dont come at you with a daignosis that labels you and traps you forever. They dont just throw medications at you. They get to know you, and learn whats been going on and focus on how they can help you get to where you want to be. They help you plan your next steps every week. They do their absolute best to make you feel like a regular functioning member of society, and I know that for me I have always been scared I wouldnt attain that or sustain it because I get so burnt out. The therapist helped me figure out WHY I was getting burnt out in the first place by challenging my views. I cant reccomend this place enough. I truly believe there is no person, no matter how successfull they are or how much they have gone through that wouldnt benefit from coming here. Like so many others have already said, if youre here reading these reviews, show yourself the love you deserve and go to this amazing place ❤️ I held back on going for way too long based on what people would think because Im a mom and the stigma around mental health facilities. But this place 🙌 it was the most calm, beneficial environment. Being in a house instead of white walls was the best plus the amazing staff! It definitely had its ups and downs, like everywhere and everyone has their adjustment periods but overall the best thing Ive done. For the first time in my life I no longer have SI thoughts 🥰 I honestly didnt think that was possible!

I am grateful for all the staff and individuals at SoCal Empowered. I had an absolutely great experience here for the whole month I attended. All the staff are extremely capable, compassionate, and hard working. Writing this about a month out, I didnt quite know what to expect before coming since this was my first residential program, but I am so glad that I made the decision to attend this program. Since leaving I have been able to start working again and it is all because of the extensive and effective help I received during my time here. During the stay it feels like you are part of a family who looks out for everyone and meets all of us where we are at. Absolutely unique and special program that really cares, helps, and works-- all things which are so rare to find nowadays in mental health care.

My family flew me down to SoCal Empowered from Redding, CA and I don’t know how to thank them. Although the first 10 days was quite the roller coaster, they stood by me and never gave up on me. Because of them, they saved my life. I learned so much… about myself, about communication, about healthy boundaries, about coping skills, about my medications, about my diagnosis. The staff there is the best… friendly, caring, and fun. The therapists are incredible. The case managers are the best! I was blessed to have been given the opportunity to spend time there. I still keep in touch with them and can call 24 hours a day to talk to someone if I’m feeling down. Hands down, one of the best mental health programs available! Thank you SoCal Empowered!!!

When I came into SoCal Empowered i was a mere shell of the woman i used to be. Today, i completed the program and discharged feeling happier and more hopeful than i have been in a while. I’m immensely grateful for how much they aided me in getting back to the person i wanted and needed to be. My mental health was taking such a toll on my physical health. I had doctor appointments scheduled almost immediately and got on track with all medications i needed. I was able to get back to my normal, healthy weight, my vitamin levels are now balancing out, and my days are much brighter. The staff were were amazing and i actually looked forward to seeing them all throughout the week. I can honestly say i didn’t have a single bad day there. I’ve been to several treatment centers. SoCal Empowered is easily my favorite! Even though I left the facility several weeks ago, I still have fond memories of frequent outings with my peers and the techs. What was remarkable about the program is that therapeutic time was equally balanced with restorative fun time! Since I was severely burned out at the time, those experiences helped me to feel better overall.Megan was my therapist. I was extremely impressed by her professionalism, skill level, and deductive reasoning ability. I gained a lot of insights about myself through our sessions. Although I’ve had many therapists, her sessions in particular still stand out to me.As a case manager, Kenzie did an awesome job with singing country music while driving me to various places, as well as leading groups and helping me narrow down step-down program choices.Over the course of almost 2 months, the behavioral health techs became my friends—a few, even my homies. Being able to relate to them and learn about their recovery was amazing! It was bittersweet to graduate from the program, to say the least.Now that I’ve returned to a PHP program that I had been doing earlier, I feel that I’ve gained so much perspective on my life, as well as wisdom about whatever is lying ahead. I feel a lot of gratitude for SoCal Empowered for going above and beyond to help me feel whole again! Thank you 😊!!

I was in a safe environment to help me deal with a lot of built up emotional problems over the years. I would recommend this to everyone. My son has struggled with mental health issues for the past 5 years. He has been to 4 rehabs, 4 mental hospitals, and 4 different residential treatment programs over the years. We were referred to SoCal Empowered and finally have seen a breakthrough with his mental health! The environment at SoCal made him feel comfortable and he could be his self. Its a home environment so it made him feel at home. The staff became his friends and they answered any questions I had very quickly. They found a step down program for him that would best suit his needs. I would recommend this place to anyone who is struggling with mental health.

Huge Huge thank you to SoCal Empowered for helping my daughter! This place is different from others in so many positive ways, I can’t possibly list them all. First and foremost, they are focused and committed to helping individuals with their mental health. JP was amazingly helpful to work with, before, during and after her stay. The staff at SoCal, are all highly qualified and very good at their jobs. I asked my daughter about her experience there and she said, the staff is very caring like she has never seen before. She really felt like she was listened to and heard and that everyone’s opinion was respected. They see an individual in need, not dollar signs. There isn’t the stress of thinking you will be kicked out the second insurance pushes back. My daughter had been to several residential programs in Southern California and this is by far, was the most beneficial and the one that has set her up properly for the next step in her healing process. We would both, highly recommend, So Cal Empowered.

I have been to several treatment centers so I have seen the way things are done at different places and I can honestly say this place is the best. Everything I ever wanted in a treatment center. Every single staff member is so kind, empathetic and helpful. My therapist was amazing.. she listened and guided me and helped me figure things out for myself without judgement. My case manager helped me take care of things with my job and the dentist and everything I needed. There is only 6 clients so the groups were really intimate and comfortable. The group topics also taught me a lot. Not to mention the outings and daily trips to the park!! Those helped so much with keeping my mood up! I’ll always cherish the laughter and good times we as clients had. I am now thriving in a sober living and IOP program thanks to SoCal Empowered! My mental health is so much better now.. thank you to all the staff!!! I’ll always remember everything you all did for me!

When I first went to SoCal I was in a dark place. I didn’t know what to do with my life and I had no intention of staying long. Going to SoCal everything changed for me. The staff was amazing!! They were there for me for anything I needed. The therapy was remarkable. And the outings and groups was exactly what I needed. I truly believe that’s the first time I felt safe enough and comfortable enough to really dig in deep. I went from wanting to stay for only two weeks to staying over 30days by my own want. Staff make effort to connect with clients. The food was always on point. And the care there was the best I’ve ever been in and I’ve been too many places. SoCal is the only residential I recommended people to go to because the was the only one where I really got the help I needed. That’s my support even to this day.

We were introduced to Sol Cal Empowered when a family member had a need for residential treatment following a very long mental health crisis and found himself far from home. From my first conversation with one of the owners, JP, I had a feeling this program was unique and much more whole person oriented. When the first couple days didnt go so well for our family member, Sol Cal went out of their way to secure his safety and well-being, even remaining with him in a parking lot for many hours when his anxiety prevented him from making a sound decision. They promised to keep a bed open for him once he was at a place where he could return. They kept that promise, holding a bed for over 5 weeks, allowing him to transition back to a familiar place instead of going through one more unknown. While he was at Sol Cal Empowered, he made a lot of progress and had the most stability and altruistic care hed experienced in months. They saw to his other medical and emotional needs as well getting him to medical appointments and second opinions, investigating possible medication side effects with care and concern. They fought his insurance for more time when he needed it. When it came time to downgrade his care and he experienced increased anxiety again, our family member took action that wasnt for his highest good. As family members we intervened and convinced him not to follow through on his plan, and although he essentially had discharged himself from care, Sol Cal Empowered acted quickly and with compassion for his safety and well-being and took him into their care once again, before even having the insurance approval to do so. Since then they have been working with him to find a suitable and comfortable next lower level of care that will give our family member the continued services needed while also giving him much needed ownership of the choice. Since this mental health crisis has gone on so long, and we have dealt with far too many providers, Sol Cal Empowereds staff and owners really stand out among their peers. They have gone the extra mile to help a fellow human in need with dignity, respect, care and concern. Highly recommend with immense gratitude.

SoCal Empowered, my personal review.As we know mental health is a very complicated thing. Its always a case by case situation unfortunately it could take days, weeks, an even years starting with the right therapists. Finding the best psychiatrist to help manage your mental health it can often be intimidating. At first your insurance company may offer a long list of potential providers, but how do you know if they are any good or actually have your best interests at heart only thinking of where the next payment is coming from or how good your insurance actually is. Which it makes people like us avoid getting help with finding themselves in a train reaction of repeated patterns being on medication to coming off them through lack of insurance coverage or self medicating because of lack of support from family, friend, and the whole mental health care system.Nine months ago I really needed help with both physically and mental health. I didnt want to go but I had to choose putting my family through hell. But what was holding me back was places I had been to before, striped me of my medication without any replacement medication thinking they new best, wasnt introduced to anyone and just told ware my room was in directions very overwhelming especially people like us we need support more than ever. There was no real support as in group settings or even basic therapy just left to our own devices.Reading through all the reviews they are a true and accurate apart from one negative response. Which everyone is aloud there opinion and all feelings count and the way they see things at that period of time in there life. But I have to disagree with that statement because i was a current patient there at the time, i know everything possible was done to prevent any harm to anyone and procedures were followed correctly with concern and support.I had a totally amazing time it really changed the out look of my mental health and made me realize that there are people who actually care. From day one i was made very welcome by all the staff and to my surprise all the other house mates were very welcoming and friendly. Come to realize when you are in a comfortable relaxed safe environment you can be yourself with no judgment. The encouragement they give you on a daily basis is totally amazing. Laying in bed is not a option. The morning walks around the different parks, the goal settings really opened my mind made me realize this is what help really is.I highly recommend SoCal Empowered to anyone they treat people as a whole regardless of what there situation there is with no judgment just pure care understanding and totally support from everyone who works there. I felt free to express through the daily walks, too goal settings with the ability to share as a group and the support team even sharing there goals as well which makes us more willing to share. I found art therapy amazing they gave us all the supplies needed to express ourselves and also through games even taking us shopping for games and would play with us in a whole group. They would try there best to find something for everyone to do. That was another real positive thing going up and beyond to make us happy and comfortable.We had a chef come in Monday though Friday making us lunch and dinner on the weekends breakfast and lunch was on us, there was always food available for us to eat. There was a grocery list that was pinned up so we could request items as in food and drinks. They would buy us dinner at the weekends as a team we would pick what we wanted. The staff would do there best to arrange are request. The list goes on everything from a Starbucks runs to bonfire at the beach and escae rooms, really keeping us well attained safe and overall telling us we can do this and never give up, because there is always that person somewhere out there and when you find that something it can be life changing to the point a life is changed.Thank you Socal Empowered.Gemma Hernandez

She went in literally hating life, and came out my sweet little girl again, ready to go to a step down program and get her world back in order. SoCal Empowered has a comforting atmosphere. When I was in the program, we played board games often, went on walks regularly, and on the weekends there was always exciting activities planned for us. It can be exhausting of course when we are dealing with mental health and substance abuse along with any wreckage we’ve caused before coming to a place like this for help, but I felt cared for at SoCal Empowered and they helped me set myself in a better direction.

I took my daughter there for help and they did an amazing job. JP is an amazing person, he helped us out from beginning to end and even met us there at the home we dropped her off at to meet us. Months later he still answers my texts and calls.. they treated or daughter with love and respect. The people that ran the house as well were great to her and us. She developed great relationships with those people that were there to help her. They do daily outdoor activities to keep you going and work with you full time. I would send anyone there in a heart beat. They also found her a step down program which was the next step and took her there themselves, we didnt have to work about a thing. Without JP I dont know where our daughter would have ended up. He is there for you not the money unlike other places. We have been through the ringer trying to get her help but with JP by our side we finally got her the help she needed. She is doing amazing now.

SoCal Empowered has exceeded expectations when I was seeking treatment two years in a row. The first time I sought help with my mental health, however given my resistance to changing my behaviors surrounding my addictive lifestyle I was unsuccessful in my first attempt to get sober. Knowing this place existed and was a good fit for anyone seeking hands on treatment from a staff who cares deeply about their clients and their success was paramount in my journey on the path to recovery. With ample space for a whole 6 clients (not a lot of clients) there’s comfort to be found here as well as excellent group and individual therapy. Lisa, the therapist is amazing and offered me perspective, validation, and challenged my thought processes when necessary. Waking up to Karina, Arlene and Axel’s smiling faces and positive attitudes greatly decreased my want to stay in bed. The psychiatric help was beyond what I had expected coming from previous less engaged treatment centers and hospitals, and not overwhelming. JP is an experienced and helpful, down to earth dude who deserves an award for all of the work that was done by staff in increasing the likelihood of my success in this and future lower tier programs. My second visit pertained more so to my substance abuse initially and was extremely beneficial as I am still sober and in my right mind. The food is exquisite (shoutout to chef Charles). Nicole is amazing, hilarious, insightful and extremely helpful as a case manager and confidant. The staff is well versed in mental health and substance abuse difficulties and the traumas we endure that bring us to dark places. I would 100% recommended (and have recommended) this facility to a friend or family member who is going through rough times. The growth I could feel in my 40ish days here is priceless and worth every second. Not to mention the weekly outings and sunset trips we were allowed to embark on. I miss it honestly. 10/10. Jeanette, Cory, Kyle and Sue were extremely helpful in my processing of trauma as well. I’m extremely grateful for Adin and JP for allowing me a bed in my darkest times.

This place was Amazing. It’s a place where you can feel safe, supported & all staff members are Awesome as well as good people. Even the owners of SoCal stop in very often & always ask how your feeling & if you need anything. They also sit & take time if you’d like to speak about how you currently are feeling. The house is large, beautiful as well as having beautiful surroundings & scenery. It’s always clean & most importantly they check on you several times in the evening.I truly am Grateful to God for this place. They saved my life & I am eternally appreciative. Also, I made some friends for life in the patients there too! Additionally they even take you on Amazing outings & there is a private chef who prepares your meals! The food is delicious. The only thing I wasnt fond of was treating adult clients like 12 year olds by a certain staff that clearly was just making up extra rules as they went along. After coming here to work on my mental health, i can say that this place is amazing. when i came here i wasnt sure how much i would improve or change. i stayed here for about 40 days, which seemed like only a couple days, and after leaving i felt like a completely different person (in a good way) the house itself is beautiful & the scenery outside in the backyard is gorgeous, looks like a forest. very peaceful. the group therapies are very comfortable and at least for me it was easier than expected to be vulnerable and actually work on what i wanted to work on. the individual therapy with lisa was also very good, i wish i could keep lisa as my personal therapist haha. all the staff are amazing, whenever i would talk to them about whatever is going on, they always seemed to know the right things to say. they try to make you feel as comfortable and welcomed as possible and it is such a good feeling. also the chef cooks amazing meals. everything about this place is so perfect. 10/10 would recommend. i learned so much and it was an experience for me that i loved and helped me for the better. thank you socal!

My family member had experienced very traumatic mental health issue. Without going into details, I will say that our family needed to find help immediately. After spending time calling quite a few of the facilities, I learnt that sometimes there is a waiting list. Also, often, even if you have a PPO insurance, many of them are not interested in working with the PPO. (They would rather have you pay up front and get your reimbursement from the insurance yourself). Also, few of the places I called sounded like they didn’t care much. When I called the Socal Empowered, I was surprised to receive a response right away. I talked on a phone to JP. Later I found that he was the owner. He picked up the phone himself and explained to me that they would be happy to help! He said I would not need to worry about insurance billing, he took the insurance information and told me that their billing department would take care of all insurance issues. JP was so informative, competent, and knowledgeable. He told me that the place was available (within a day or so), and we could stop by to check out the place prior to moving in.Next day we came to see the place, which appeared to be so amazing. Under the circumstances that we were in, I could not have asked for a better one. Surrounded by fresh air with “forest like” surrounding and beautiful trees. Big part of the house is gigantic veranda that by itself a definition of a therapy for exhausted nerves of any sufferer. The house is big with lots of space and designed perfectly. They explained that there would be lots of group therapy every day and individual therapy also. There is a cook in the house, so no need to worry about meals or ordering take outs.We can’t say enough good words about every person working at Socal Empowered, they were so helpful, professional, and educated in their field. Without the help at Socal Empowered we don’t know what we would do.At any point when we had questions, I was able to text and receive quick responses. Our son suffers from schizoaffective disorder and had been to quite a few places for treatment. Some were better than others but a contact that I had made in California recommended SOCAL. This place is the real deal . From the owner, JP to the therapists and staff, he was treated so well and sounds better than he has in months . We may have finally found the right med combo so now my son is ready to come home . I would not hesitate to send him back there if needed and I would recommend it to anyone else with this illness . SOCAL EMPOWERED is a wonderful facility and was truly a blessing to my family! My 27 year old daughter, who has been diagnosed with Asperger’s Disorder, bipolar, PTSD, and depression, was going through a very difficult period in 2021 due to the social isolation caused by the COVID-19 restrictions. We live in Georgia and had to have her hospitalized in one of our surrounding hospitals twice between February and March of this year for severe depression. Both times she was hospitalized, she was released within 10 days before any new medication she was given had time to work in her body. We were really desperate for a new approach to the issues she was facing. I did a search on the internet and found SOCAL EMPOWERED and talked to the owner of the facility about my daughter’s condition and treatment she was receiving. The owner let me know that in the region of the country where I lived it was often standard practice to keep patients at a behavioral health facility just long enough to “stabilize” them and then send them back home. He let me know that at SOCAL EMPOWERED they liked to keep patients for at least 30 days to ensure they get used to any new medications, regimens, etc., they are prescribed before they release patients. They also have a more relaxed environment at the facility (group home like setting) which is much more friendly and less “sterile” to encourage patients to feel more relaxed while they undergo treatment. Based on our conversation, I decided to send my daughter to their facility. They picked her up from the airport once she arrived in California. For the next 30 days I was in “daily” contact with the facility concerning my daughter’s progress. I was also emailed a copy of her daily schedule and a list of everything she needed prior to her arrival. The professionalism of all the staff members was beyond reproach and they did everything possible to make me and my daughter feel at ease concerning her visit there. At the end of the 30 days, they took her back to the airport to ensure she boarded her flight safely and would receive a wheelchair escort throughout the airport. Her stay at this facility was a pleasant experience for both of us! The therapy she received there was very positive and truly helped her to see herself and the world in a more positive light. She has been home since the last week of April and is continuing to make progress with dealing with her negative emotions in a more productive way than she did in the past. As a side note, I would like to add that the staff will work with you in any way they can to ensure you can afford treatment at the facility. At first my insurance company denied claims submitted for payment, but they patiently worked with the insurance company until all claims were eventually paid! I would recommend this facility to anyone who needs treatment for behavioral health issues or has family member or friends who need treatment!

The assessment and interview process was wonderful with JP and the staff. They were incredibly considerate, especially during such a vulnerable and difficult time. I felt completely comfortable and taken care of during this process. Ultimately, I went with another company simply due to them having a bed available first, as I needed to go somewhere quickly. This place abandoned me. Took me to a psychiatric hospital, told me that I’d get to come back and then left me homeless. They would not give me the meds I needed and one staff member was extremely cruel as well as others. If you have serious mental health issues, DO NOT go here. If you have anxiety or depression, then this is a good place for you but they aren’t equipped to deal with serious mental health issues. They sat there and watched me suffer and did nothing except leave me on the street.
