Busy! Clean, well organized and they have a great training for snowboarding classes. The tubing is really easy to access as well.Best practice is to buy your tickets before you go and prepaid parking on busy weekends.Need another lodge to relax and eat and drink, not enough room or chairs for large crowds to warm up and relax.

Had a really good time here. Me and my wife just went tubing but still a great experience. From the staff in the store to the staff working the hill, everyone was cheerful and gave a good experience. I would definitely come back again and recommend others to come here. For tubing its about 1.5 he time block you pay for. They do military discount for skiing and snowboarding too.

Awesome place to ski. It is very spacious and big. There is also music and quick shops for like coffee or hot cocoa. I love it here. Definitely had an great time with my family. I would recommend for everyone to come. Pot skiers or those who are just learning.

We stayed here through an Airbnb. Its walking distance to Snow Summit Mountain which is great. We could walk home for lunch which we preferred over eating outside in the cold. Indoor dining is closed at this time. The only negative is at night you can hear the snowmakers and the snow plows grooming the mountain. It can make it hard to sleep if you are sensitive to sounds.

Amazing place!! Friendly and helpful staff who love skiing and snowboarding themselves, so they take the time to help you a lot!Good equipment too, never felt uncomfortable or unsafe with my gear or their lifts. As my first time skiing, I will forever remember this spot for the rest of my life.11/10 would recommend!

We went on a short hike. Snow summit is amazing for the active hikers, bikers, zip liners, etc! If ever in big bear, a must stop.

I love this ski resort. Its the biggest we have in Southern California, but didnt like that they dont have night skiing and didnt like that they close at 5pm. It should close later.

I highly recommend to come here with your family or friends. There is so much to do, hikes! Ski resorts, restaurant hopping, sight seeing, zoo!, and much more.During winter time do expect traffic! Oh and I would recommend to already buy groceries before you come here because the few well known stores like vons and more are going to be packed!Always search for season activities to do!

Stayed in the Slopes Cabin on the corner of Summit and Switzerland. Location is superb, you are right there with a view of the Snow Summit buildings. Only problem with that is the snow clearers and gritters are out very early at 3-5 am so lost some sleep but so happy not to have to fight the rush to get on the slopes. We returned for lunch before heading back out for the afternoon. Cabin has 2 bedrooms and comfortable living quarters and a well stocked kitchen. The heating is not even with cold bedrooms and the rest too hot so constantly adjusting but overall a great stay.

A friend of mines was saying here, it was huge an roommie inside, cathedral ceilings, beautiful kitchen, sunk in living room, just beautiful, an it was on a lake. Sorry I dont have pictures, I just have pictures of the lake,but I would definitely go back an rent there. It was amazing.

Epic day opener this year. Thanks again for all the staff that came in on Thanksgiving day for the season opener. The mountain was great and the staff continued to help everyone in the middle of one of the biggest storms I have witnessed during pre-season.

Roomie townhouse with a warming cabin feeling. These cabin are in excellent chapel there is hot tubs, jacuzzis and an outdoor pool. Close to snow summit where they have down hill MTB trails all along the townhouses. Great place for family or just a getaway any season.

Great experience at these cabins, our master bedroom had a jacuzzi tub big enough for two people and an outside Jacuzzi, there was a big kitchen, fridge, laundry on site, game room with a pool table, only downside is you have take your trash to another location about a mile and a half away, other then that great place to stay. I got to see the moon from my bed one night, also the nearby liquor store had absolute cilantro something I never had tasted but I love cilantro.

Excellent fun for the whole family throughout the year. Alpine slide is a lot of fun, a ride that had been there for many years now. They also have a slope where we can slide down in tubes, lot of fun. This place is open and has activities all 12 months.

Like others said, this is a great place until you have to deal with the mean old lady in the office for anything. Even if youre extremely nice she has a absolutely horrible attitude and lack of care for her customers.Our internet and cable was not working. We reset the router and still no luck. There was a magnet on the refrigerator for spectrum WiFi so we contacted them directly. They were very helpful and willing to troubleshoot. They immediately noted that the problem is not with the equipment but with the account.I called the front desk and the lady tried giving us the password however we explained that we already have it, reset the router and also contacted spectrum who advised us there is a problem with the account. The lady was very rude although she did try to provide other units wifi passwords which none of which were close enough to access the internet. She said theres nothing wrong with the account and if there was an account issue its the HOA and that would be at least a week before it would be fixed (still in a very rude tone as if this is my fault or I am somehow inconveniencing her).She said she would send over maintenance and then hung up before I could explain that would not be helpful.Surprisingly maintenance was here within 2 minutes (kudos to them). They came in, saw the red light on the router, tried to connect their phone and realized the same problem as me and said they need to pay their account, to which I replied, please tell them to pay it now. He left at 920am this morning and its now the evening and havent heard a peep from them.At 9am the next day we called again, same rude lady offers zero assistance. I decided to call VRBO and they got the property manager on the phone. Once he realized the issue was also with cable and not just internet, he contacted spectrum which relayed the issue to him and the property manager then contacted the actual owner of the unit who then called spectrum and fixed the account by 11:15am. So good end result but due to the unhelpful lady at the front we went over 24 hours without cable or internet when it couldve been easily fixed with some customer care and a phone call to the property manager.

The location was pretty nice as it was on one of the main streets and had many attraction near by it. We hiked and hiked to castle rock and went mountain biking up snow summit, its a great work out, and we also went kayaking in bighead lake. All of this was close by The rental town houses. The rooms were nice comfy and welcoming. Although there was some noisy neighbors when we stayed over, we had a great time there. We walked through the village and when we were done we ate at bear restaurant and everyone there was nice, I highly recommend coming over to Big Bear and renting a town house for family and friends.

Location is wonderful. There is a trail on the backside & skiing within walking distance. The community pool is heated. No hot tub by the pool. Community grill & large picnic table available. The place we rented was dated... which is fine. Rating at 4 stars because of musty smell in bedroom & cobwebs all over screens. Balcony furniture also was not dusted. They require you to be out by 10 a.m., take out the trash & have all the dishes washed & put away or you have to pay extra ON TOP of the cleaning fee you are required to pay.

It has really great location, but I would say the snow is quiet icy and bunny hills are filled with people sitting on the snow (me included haha), so you have to constantly watch out. There is only one fire pit, naturally people need to crowd around the fire, which is bad for social distancing. Had lots of fun! Hope to come back again on my birthday.

Visiting a friend. Beautiful area. Location is perfect for snow summit. Great area for hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. Parking was a bit rough on the weekend if youre just visiting. You can walk to snow summit though. If you want cheaper food you have to drive a little bit. You have to wash your dishes and make sure you clean up begotten you leave. But the amenities are nice. It great that you can cook your own there

Drive time from Los Angeles area to Snow Summit is approximately 2 hrs (give or take, depending on traffic) - and, it is totally worth it. Ive gone when theres real snow, and when theres fake machine-made snow. If theres real snow, then the drive is a little harder but your time up there will be more fun. With fake snow, the drive is usually a little easier. The place is run well and they have a pretty good system. Most of the staff are friendly, but you will come across some cranky ones who have been up since early morning. Overall, great experience.

There is one unit downstairs and one unit upstairs, community deck with table and seating out back. Front porch and front balcony also has room to hang out. No washer/dryer as stated in description. This Town House is a perfect location. Its sits at the bottom slopes with the view of the mountain (not all unit have a view) and walking distance to the ski resort. Parking is free. The cabin itself is fully equipped with amenities, however, its a bit dated. I recommend months away to book w reservation.

My favorite place! I got married here on top of the snow summit on my ski! What a magical moment! It was snowing and felt like winter in wonderland. Dont forget to drive around town when you visit this place. So much to see mostly the lake. One time, we got stuck on the icy road and some locals drove around town and helped people with no charge. They helped us towed our car for free!

The unit was much bigger than we expected and could easily have accommodated 2 families.Fully furnished with anything you may need including lots of cutlery, crockery and pans, so one can easily cook pretty much anything. As there arent many good restaurants (at least my experience), this comes quite handy. One thing - its a bit pricey.Definitely recommended.

It does get slow, but it is much faster than their main rental place during peak season. It is located inside the resort to the right-most part of the resort. However, it is on the opposite side to the beginner slopes, so you would need to haul all the gear (as a beginner) to the easiest slopes.

First of all, they have nice and clean area. They have heated boot racks, keep your foot warm when you try on. Some boots, bigger size, were old and ripped. However the younger one have newer boots with BOA so the kids dont have tight the laces. When you get to the board area, pay attention to the binding because some employees doesnt pay attention will give you the broken binding or they didnt do it right. The rental price for adult is about $28 and the kid is about $20.

Always cpme here to rent. Its fast to sign waiver, pay, and rent your boots/helmet/snowboard. Its really close to snow summit so that is a very very big plus in my opinion. The prices are nothing special, relatively the same as others in the area. The guys there really know what to give you and usually give you tips for carrying or skiing which is nice. Also have retail in case you need a jacket, helmet,etc.

One of the best Snowboard rentals Ive ever been to! Service is extremely quick, getting your boots fitted correctly and getting you the right board. Even better is their return process. No DH today but a late night invite made me bring out the oldie bagoddie out hadnt touched snow summit with this one since the original park was still open. Had a blast list it in Fall Line on some lose dirt had a blast cant wait to put on the Dirt Jumpers and feel the difference on the jumps. Looks nice out here the trails ate do different since I last came up the facility is looking better each time I get a chance to come up to the Lake.. Cheers

ESCAPE TOWNHOMES Fabulous location near the ski slopes at snow Summit. Each condo is independently owned and managed by different managers. There is a big difference in each townhome on management, amenities, and furnishings. If you have any concerns, please let your manager know, especially if you need anything. The management on site are very friendly and helpful. I know unit #92 of Escape Townhomes has new carpet, beds, mattresses, flooring. It is decorated nicely with leather couches and chairs for cleanliness. There is a pleasant view of the forest. You can access the ski lift #10 and #7 via a short walk through the campground that is closed in winter. Escape townhomes are the closest to the slopes. Big Bear has been experiencing a lack of labor force. If you find anything not as clean as it should be please call it to the managers attention. They are really trying to give great service.

Great location- right by Snow Summit, plenty of beautiful hikes around + biking trails. The town homes are nicely furnished, very spacious with a fully functional kitchen in case you want to cook at home. Overall, a very convenient place to spend a weekend if you plan on hiking/biking/skiing around Snow Summit. Cons- Very thin walls, you can clearly hear next door conversations- which can be annoying if your neighbors happen to be early risers (5 am, not kidding!) and youre not. Thats the only reason I took away one star- could the management consider adding some sound proofing?

I guess I visited here when my friends used to live here. But then they got kicked out so that it could be turned into a vacation rental for the winter. Its a pretty nice place I guess, nothing special really besides the walking distance to Snow Summit. However that fact alone will be worth much more to avid skiers and snowboarders who dream about walking 3 minutes up to the chairlift and just going about their day.

I Love this place. The teachers here are very nice, and they can teach you how to ski or snowboard. Also, the rental shop is nice. The rental shop has everything you need to go skiing or snowboarding. This place also has a little academy, for little kids to practice skiing or snowboarding. WAY OVER-CROWDED. For a ski lodge located IN A CITY and not a significant drive away from civilization they do not have a good system for dealing with the amount of people that go there. Their parking fills up long before lifts open. Their answer is to shuttle people from off site parking to the lifts. The shuttles are open air and its literally standing room only. People are mashed together like cattle. Lines for the shuttles take HOURS because the shuttles are not frequent enough to keep up with the massive lines. Some people chose to WALK OVER A MILE IN SKI/BOARD BOOTS to the lifts instead of waiting for shuttles. The food lines also took over an hour for over priced lodge food. The lift lines took forever too. It was like Disney land. You spend your while day in lines for a quick ride down the mountain. Will not take my business their again.

Snow Summit Townhouses. We stayed in unit 37 and we really enjoyed the location. It was clean, the decor was what I expected from a stay in Big Bear. It was pine with rustic accents with a bear and moose them throughout. The unit was up to date especially in the bathrooms and kitchen. The beds were comfortable and roomy. We stayed here with our two kids. Our biggest concern was a few ants, noisy refridgerator and steep stairs with our toddler. We would stay here again.

The helpers for getting shoes are in so much hurry that they dont want to listen to what you are saying. For my 4 year old they insisted that the shoe size is right and after two hours he was crying in pain. When I went to change in another lady said.. Oh no wonder this is too small for him. Wont parents know what is right? Why are you insisting that making newbies look like idiots? My shoe was tight too and the same answer... The shoe pinched my skin and burnt it. Its such a great place to snowboard and ski! You can rent equipment and the pricing is about normal. There are several different slopes to do ranging from beginner to expert. Overall, its a great place to experience all kinds of winter sports!

Just call the office about townhouse rentals and sales. Lady on phone was very rude make me very suncomfortable, I was speechless the way she told me everyone is busy and nobody can help me. I also contacted Bonnie (sales person) 3-4 times before by email and by phone, never responded back to me.Very unprofessional and disappointing experience.I better give my business to realtor who will appreciate my business as well is my time. Hit it miss, their snowboard boots are better quality than other shops around but its a bit pricier. Upside is you can just drop them off without going to a different location after your done with the slopes. They never asked me if I was regular or goofy, never asked me for my height. Bindings were meeeeh. Think because they are overloaded with work the quality of service is whatever.

We rented helmets there for inner tubing. Both the Rental and Rental Returns entrances are in the same building. The Rental building entrance was a little confusing to find as you have to walk to the right of the building and up some stairs. The Rental Return entrance is on the back side of the building (The front side of the building is the side that faces the parking lot). This was all a first for me, but the employees were nice and helped me adjust my helmet. The dudes who helped push us down the inner tubing slope were hilarious. After we were done, we went back to return the helmets and all we had to do was hand them back to one of the employees standing at the rental return entrance. This was overall a great experience.

I always stay here with my parents every summer. The townhouses we rent have all the essentials plus more. Youre located in just the right amount of distance from the other tourists while not being far away from the village and lake. My friend actually invited me to go with her and her family to big bear because they had more space in their rental house. It was a very functional house, but it was nothing to special. There were qsme personal item still in the bathroom, still food in the cabinets, but besides that and having to make the beds, it was overall a good experience. When we were going to leave, we spotted that there was a tube sticking out of the ground, that had water draining out of it, and old sewage waste. It was quite disgusting, but we were leaving.
