These guys are the best! Raymond and Ming are amazing at what they do. They are 100% trustworthy and have taken care of my Mercedes E350 for more than 8 years. Now they are taking care of my daughter’s Mercedes C300 and I’m getting the same great service from them. Every time I’ve had an issue, they have fixed it at a very fair price. So glad I found this awesome shop. Highly recommend!

Early last year, I had the pleasure of working with Joe, the owner of Smog it Mercedes Service, and I couldnt be more impressed with him. Joes attention to customer needs is exceptional, he provides you with a transparent breakdown of what your car needs...he treats you as if you were his family. Just today, I dropped off my sons recently acquired vehicle (Prius/Toyota) for an overall inspection and check-up, Joe and his team were quick to act. The car just needed basic maintenance, reset dash lights and an oil change and was ready for pickup within a couple of hours. Their efficiency and dedication to quality service is admirable. Joes honesty and trustworthiness make him one of the most reliable mechanics Ive ever encountered. If youre in the bay area (Mountain View) and in need of vehicle service, I highly recommend giving Joe a call...hes AWESOME!!

Moved in from out of state and Smog It was able to help me register my car! Scheduled an appointment online and got a confirmation email in the same day.Joe was very wonderful to talk with and he helped me fill out the registration forms. I had a great experience at this smog check station. Professional, polite and straightforward people. Super fast service, it took only 20 minutes to have my car ready. You can wait in the office or stretch your legs and walk around a bit. The price is very reasonable, you will have a hard time finding a flat fee of $58 dollars anywhere in the Bay Area. I visited three other smog test shops before stopping here, and they ask me for $135, $100 and $85, plus I have to wait 30-45 min, plus long faces and rude behavior. No thank you, I won’t wait at all, and good luck with that attitude.I totally recommend this place if you appreciate a good service and a positive attitude, which always goes a long way in providing excellent customer service.

I found Smog It when I needed service for my Mercedes but when I bought a new car, I was delighted to find out they work on all types of cars.Always honest. Theyve looked at my car and even told me nothing needed to be fixed right away - and the visit was free.Always available. Never had to wait to schedule service.Always fast. I work in Palo Alto but live in SF. They always get my car fixed same day.When I find a good mechanic, I stick with them for life. Cant say enough good things about Smog It!

I have been going here for my cars SMOG tests for many years. Service is always fast, professional, and reasonably priced. The distance to downtown Mountain View is just right so that you can walk to downtown to get a coffee, and by the time you walk back your car is done with the test.

Came in for DMV - Smog Check Test. Made an appointment and was in and out within ~30 minutes. Ivy and Joe are super kind and sweet. I also noticed the staff are professional and kind to their customers during my wait.Overall it was very easy to make an appointment and have my needs taken care of. I highly recommend this shop and their service!Current pricing for Smog Check + the certification is $58 as of Jan 2023. If you are here for a Smog Check make sure its been some time since your last car inspection. Newly calibrated cars from inspections might have inconclusive test results. Please be warned you will still need to pay a courtesy fee for their service even if the test results are inconclusive.

I’ve been taking my ‘98 e class Mercedes to them for the past 5+ years. With 275,000 miles on the odometer, I had to have the transmission rebuilt. It wasn’t cheap but it’s the first time I ever had any work on the transmission. i’m pleased with the work. Super smooth transmission now.The shop is great for keeping the car running reliably while keeping maintenance to a minimum.

Terrible service. the prior owner was very professional and friendly. However, everything went south when the new owner took over. I did my last annual service at this place after they changed the ownership. Oil change was done as part of that service. Surprisingly, they didnt change the oil filter. My check engine light was on a couple of months later and the diagnosis pointed to the oil filter issue. I ended up with extra time and diagnosis costs. But when I talked to the owner, he denied the whole thing. This place should be avoided. Your luxury Mercedes deserves a much better service!

Raymond is THE MAN!!I have always had a good experience here. Recently, my 2015 C300 broke down in the middle of the road and I had it towed here. From the time I dropped my car here, Raymond has been super helpful. He explained to me (in layman language) every single thing that was going on with my car. He also explained different options and the price associated with those. Since the internal damage was substantial, I decided to sell my car. He agreed to keep my car for the next 2-3 days until I am able to sell my car and someone else picks it up. All in all, my experience has been amazing. Thanks!

I had been a loyal customer before the previous owner had retired, but I had a horrible experience with the new owner and will be going back to the Mercedes dealership for any future services. I went for general maintenance and an hour after the service, my check engine light turned on. I made another appointment with them for the next day to see what was wrong. My car completely stopped running on the freeway on the way there. After the tow truck towed it to their shop they told me that two parts were broken and that it would be $1700 to fix. My car has less than 100,000 miles on it and didn’t have problems until i brought it here. I decided to tow the car to the Mercedes’ dealership instead of paying the $1700 and they told me that the fuel pump wasn’t closed correctly and everything was misaligned and charged me $726. The dealership also said nothing was broken and that someone touched the fuel pump when they were not supposed to without my request/consent.

I sent Mercedes R350 to Smog It Mercedes service for Service B and fixing the windshield wiper arm. Totally I spent less than $500. For the same work, Mercedes Benz dealer asked for more than $900 for the service and $550 for replacing the arm. Very good service, very honest and thoughtful business!

Once again I had excellent service at Mercedes service of Mountain View. I called yesterday morning and within 30 minutes my car was taken in, I was offered a loaner car, and I picked up my car at the end of the day with very accurate charges that were quoted beforehand. Update:They sent multiple service request emails less than a year after my service and never addressed the mistakes they made servicing my car. I would not recommend. See below to understand why.While I should assume they did a service, the service indicator was NOT reset, and there was grease all over my steering wheel after the service. I’m not sure this is a place I’d trust with my car with due to lack of attention to detail if nothing else.I also tried to call them three times to discuss the issues over the phone with no answer. Now I’ve given up and wrote this review, so it’s not for lack of trying to understand what went wrong.The people I talked to there were quite pleasant. So it’s too bad the service on my vehicle wasn’t to the standard I expect.

I had small services somewhere in Santa Clara for a short time. Since intake manifold is a big one this time, I shopped around. While I found Ming, the reviews showed many of them were customers from Mercedes Exclusive too. Their feedback convinced me with similar experience. Very sleazy.went there for smog test. They told me it would be $58. When I picked up the car, they showed me under my hood there was a piece of a hose was clearly not connected. They charged me $49 for the failed test.Why did they go ahead and did the test when they could clearly see the missing piece of the hose?After I paid, they told me it will cost me another $40 to get re-rested after I get my hose repaired.Dont go there.

I love coming here for smog or vehicle registration! Joe is honest and I trust him to tell me what’s really going on with my vehicles. He almost always gets me in on the spot but call ahead just in case. I don’t know why anyone would go to a DMV and wait all day for basic vehicle registrations though. I’m always in and out quick at Smog-It. They even have free WiFi in the waiting room if you want it. I can’t recommend them enough!

Brilliant. They kept everything very simple/low-fuss. No appointment, waiting room with WiFi, courteous/conscientious staff who gave me accurate wait times for the whole affair. Honest: no unscrupulous surcharges for SUVs; no reliance on coupons for reasonable prices (prices are posted clearly). These are common pricing tricks (that I hated) in other smog test providers. Note the (posted) $8.xx DMV charge is charged by everyone. In the past I put up with all these pricing tricks at other providers to save a few dollars but it’s maddening and I will no longer do that. Smog testing is based on defined legal standards so the work is precisely the same everywhere. Choosing a provider just comes down to price or service - I choose service at Smog It Test Center.

Ming was wonderful letting me know that it was dangerous to drive my car given abc malfunction and fluid leak, that it would be expensive so if I had warranty at dealership that I should take it there, and that my prior car repair place had likely loosened the hoses to require anothor service.
