Everyone, without exception, was courteous and professional!! They all went out of their way to see to it that we were taken care of. We got a fantastic price on a beautiful vehicle that we love. The process of returning the vehicle I leased was simple, easy, and fast. Good communication from every member that assisted. Cesar and Romero were wonderful.I had been communicating with Cesar weeks leading up to returning the vehicle. He promptly returned my calls/text messages and answered all of my questions. Fatima helped us extremely well. I was on my way to a different dealership and she convinced me to stop by. We made our purchase here. Thanks for great service! Update beware of their detail department, I just recently purchased the Cilijet Ceramic Coating and they didnt clean my vehice properly. They applied the coating above exsisting tree sap and left compound stains. Who does a ceramic coating without cleaning the vehicle completely. I am dissapointed in this service, when trying to resolve this issue with Ramiro sales manager, I am given the go around. I am so upset with their handling of this situation. Owner posted a number to resolve my concerns and its not in service. Only tell you how much they care.

I normally dont like leaving review, bad or good, but I must leave this for the service department. We took our chevy equinox to three different shops and the third one we took to could not figure out where the clonking noise came from even after changing the struts, axel and alignment. They had many different mechanics worked on it and could not figure it out. The reason we didnt take it here in the first place because everyone kept saying the dealer would cost us more. We ended up spending almost $2K to repair and replace things we didnt need to. Finally, we took it to Smiths Chevrolet, spoke with Mike, brought the car in the following week, Smith Chevrolet fix it for under $200!! Then a month later we brought it back for AC not working. Brought it back to Ricardo, he found out the rodents were chewing up the wire. Fixed it and got our AC working full blast, even clean all the nest those rodents built. Thank you so much for your honesty and amazing customer service when others were just trying to charge us for whatever they can. We really appreciate your help!

Mike in service was excellent. Had an oil change and chip installed but then error messages kept popping up. Mike had me bring car back, provided me a rental car and turns out car is ok but some kind of computer issues. Next day all fixed. This is great customer service. Things happen but he made sure it was all taken care of.

Paul in the service department took my car in immediately & quickly had a diagnosis of undercarriage damage & overall safety & drivability of the car. Since I am a long -time customer but traveling, this was very helpful to me. Right away his team did damage control &, additionally, standard service (oil change, etc) so I could be on my way. They also caught & remedied an unknown issue before it became a major problem, getting a part within half a day.Paul & the entire service department were courteous, efficient, professional, & welcoming. I was very pleased that the service advisor understood my issue with my trucks tailgate. The Multi-pro upper tailgate seemed to get stuck / bind when attempting to open. The service advisor and technician quickly resolved the issue and explained to me how the upper tailgate trim / covers were shifted to eliminate the binding issue. My Multi-Pro tailgate functions just like the videos show the tailgate functions. I am Very pleased with the quick service !

My initial two star review is specifically for the purchasing/evaluators. Not for the car sales people. I filled out their online trade value online. I was contacted to bring it in and I had made it clear the offer carmax had offered. They said they could potentially beat. I said cool. I’ll be in said date. Got there only to be shown a screen showcasing what my cars value was and what number it sat in at resale price. Cool, appreciate the transparency. But couldn’t this have been done over the phone? As in the vin was already given. Just from an efficiency point of view and ethics. That’s my 2 cents. Other than that my experience here was better than Toyota Stockton which also did the same thing. Hopes this helps anyone trying to sell. Carmax is your best bet. And should be your first stop

Service department great in explaining my actual warranty on my vehicle. Sale personal tell you what is going to make a sale and its not even close to what I was expecting my warranty to cover. Had to come out of pocket for a diagnostic just because my miles were at 36,800 vs if I would of taken in at the 36,000 mark. Just think twice when they tell you about the LIFETIME WARRANTY they claim to use at the time of purchase.

Asked for phone call twice about the service preformed never received one not very good customer service. Darell called after 3 days saying transmission fluid was so black that the transmission fluid is still bad because it should of been flushed. Wow really that should of been something he should of called me when they were servicing it and gave me the chance to change my mind about what services I wanted be cause I did not know it was that bad. Now I have to take it to a transmission shop to have it flushed after paying them over 400 t change fluid and filter. Dont believe I will use this shop anymore for servicing my chevys and I love chevy s and expected better services from a chevy dealer.

Bought my truck Monday April 3 a week before I was talking to Gabriel Perez sorry if I spelt that wrong. Anyways I was looking for a 3.0 diesel Silverado the two I was looking at happened to already been sold just so happens one came in with no name on it he immediately gave me a call and said one landed that I could get he worked hard to get me approved as fast as he could and called me to let me know everything I needed to know. I was really impressed how they handled everything it was almost like clock work truck came in they got it mostly detailed before I even got there. When I got there Gabe was there ready to start my paper work and get the test drive going after we did the test drive the truck when back to the detailer and cleaned off any road debris that got picked up. overall really impressed by them and will go back if I ever need anything else

I’m a dedicated customer but enough is enough. I’ve had similar experiences the last few times. Very poor customer service and no follow-up or communication from the service department. The last visit I waited until after 3pm, each day, for 3 days for an update call before I ended up having to call multiple times before reaching someone. Also, their are not enough people answering the main phone. I waited 10 minutes to pay, with 2 people behind me, because one poor lady was in charge of answering phones and receiving payments.

The entire process was great. I had a lot of questions and I was able to get a quick response every time . The original person I started working with was off a couple days and they had someone else step up and handle all my questions. Great team work and the final purchase process was so easy. First time I drove my truck to Pismo Beach 250 miles. Start at home the end of my stay. Caution light came up on my dash low Depp fuel. Brought my truck to the shop to get a wheel balance shop manager informed me that the balance machine was out of order After they made my appointment felt very rushed from the salesman from the beginning. If it wasn’t for the store manager, I wouldn’t have gotten a $1500 rebate check came in for a notice parking sensors to be installed was informed that computers were not working right was told I would be there in one hour, four hours later, the manager again handed me the keys to his personal vehicle and so drive at home they can bring my truck the next day.

Sale of our vehicle: The gentleman who took care of us was thorough, honest, and up front. We had no pressure to purchase or trade, but yet he welcomed us pressure-free to look around. At first we just sold my Infiniti for cash and the transaction was smooth.New vehicle: Although inventory is low at this time, Eva took all the time and care necessary to find us a vehicle. I bought a Colorado in Delano for my Dad and live in Turlock. Needless to say, inventory is low so I widened my search parameters to find the right truck for him. That dealership was great. They forgot to add the front mount for the license plate so some drilling was necessary. I figured I could go to Smith, since we live in Turlock and would make this our home dealership. Wrong.I walked in, explained my circumstance to the service rep, cool kid. He went to share with his Service manager (smug, never left his office, just stuck his neck out the window to look, and look away). Straight RUDE as I knew what his response to my dilemma would be just from his body language and lack of engagement. They were going to make me pay for the labor. I asked if they could contact Delano and get things squared away behind the scenes. Nope. I almost caved in but the principal of this situation made me hold my ground as I should not have to pay for this work to be done. I told them I would not pay.Basically, the next hour involved me outside on the phone with Delano, getting their manager to square things away with the Service Manager at Smith. It ended with them doing the work and the Delano Manager paying with his credit card over the phone. I had to initiate. I had to problem solve, I had to ensure all things were checked off. That Service manager did absolutely NOTHING. If service is the name of the game from 1926, this was NOT IT and I will gladly take my business to Modesto instead of our home town, Turlock. What a shame of a person and a shame of a representative. The only response I will appreciate is a phone call from THAT service manager simply acknowledging he could do things better. I dont even want an apology. Just the self awareness that you were a 4/10 today.

I purchased a service package when I bought my vehicle. When serviced the technician failed to tighten the drain plug. When I called to explain what had happen they asked me to tow it in and gave me GM roadside instead of helping provide a tow. Ultimately there was damage to my engine and Smith has failed to make it right 5 months later. I was given the run around by the service manager and a month later still did not receive a phone call from him on the next steps they were going to take and I had to make contact with them in order to receive any information on the truck. I do not recommend anyone have vehicle worked on there. I have zero trust or faith in their ability to fix vehicles correctly. In April of 2021 ( 5 months after this disaster began) I decided to contact GM Corp. to help resolve the issue and after working with them for two months I was told I would need to work with the dealer directly to resolve the issue. Because of Smith Chevrolets inability to handle their business in a professional manner ( in particular their service manager Mike) I have now been force to retain legal counsel to resolve this issue. The decision is obviously yours, but if you are not willing to or do not have the financial means to hold this dealership legally responsible I suggest you look elsewhere. There are great dealerships in Modesto and Merced that have since taken care of me and from what Ive seen they seem to employ people who are knowledgeable and TRUSTWORTHY which is something I can assure you will not find in your dealings with Smith Chevrolet at any level. Please understand that any response to this post from this dealership is simply lip service to try to save face, but the bottom line is you are on your own.

To begin with, we Purchased an extended warranty on the drive train to 125k miles. Went in with an engine problem which we previously had diagnosed. It was one of the glow plugs that needed to be changed. Went in and told the service manager that that’s exactly what needed to be changed and was told they had to run their own diagnostic on it. OK fine but then we were charged $140 for that diagnostic. And weren’t even quoted a fee in the first place!! And then they tell us that the glow plugs are not covered under the 125k mile extended warranty even though it is part of the engine. Also on previous visits we had asked the service department not to rotate the tires only to come back to pick up the truck hours later and the tires have been rotated . Also didn’t get all of the promised oil changes that we were told about when we purchased the truck. Oil changes were supposed to be free of charge up until 80,000 miles but brought the truck in at 70,000 something miles and was told that we had to pay for the oil change. But only told about paying for the oil change after they had already done the oil change. On a different occasion we brought the truck in for service to the transmission. Was quoted $125 for the transmission service only to be charged over $300 when we came back to pick up the truck.Have waited over 5 hours while the truck was in getting an oil change even though an appointment was scheduled in advance. Things involving money should NEVER become a surprise. I could go on and on but bottom line is you’ve lost us as customers. We recently were in the market for another truck but took our CASH business elsewhere. We will never shop for a new vehicle with you ever again and have made sure to tell everyone we know about our experience.Click to Copy

To have my vehicle serviced .I checked in with the Service Member & I Advised him that I would be waiting for my vehicle.Time went by as with many customers leaving ahead of me . Where to begin with this embarrassment of a dealership. First of all the customer service is some of the worst I have ever experienced. The salesman named Gabe is not a trustworthy person at all and was trying everything in his power to not sale me a truck and work with me. Many of the credit bureaus you request to apply for, they ignore and go to “their” guy which is very concerning. Don’t really know what their intentions are at the dealership because it’s not to sale cars or trucks. The finance manager would not print out a solid proposal for the total truck price with my trade in and 800 credit score. They were treating me very disrespectful the entire time and believe it or not, the salesman named Gabe began arguing with me in the lobby stating I told him details about my truck that I never said. It was embarrassing to be treated like that in a place of business. Never have I’ve been so insulted. I really believe that they are not the most intelligent as Gabe would repeat things I told him about three times and kept assuming I told him things I never said. Things are not as what they seem they are on the surface as a lot of shady stuff was occurring while there.

Everyone is very nice, however I have a small complaint of something that was a bit disappointing. I came to have oil change and tires rotated. It was written on the bill that the tires were rotated. Fortunately, I thought to ask how the tires looked. The service man said they were NOT rotated because they are now worn and it would not be beneficial to rotate them. I need new tires soon. When I noticed my air pressure was low on the way home from work, I called Smith Chevy and asked if I could bring my car by to get the tires aired up. They said they would do it without any problems. I drove by and within 20 minutes, they were done. When I picked up my keys, they let me know that one of my tires had a slow leak that needed patched, and offered to set an appointment to fix it. A couple days later, I brought it back and was in and out extremely quickly. The tire leak is fixed, the patch job was perfect, and the entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful through the process. If you ever need your vehicle serviced, I would definitely recommend this location!

Extremely horrible. I bought a 2017 Silverado with 12,000 in extra warranties. Jason Curl the general manager took away a loaner vehicle and let me leave the lot in my truck. Issue is, there’s a manufacturer recall on the brake booster. I initiated this issue back in November 2020. I have personal text showing that I’m telling Jason about the problem. When Jason let me leave the lot in my truck the service tech and service manager were fired cause they lied and said they checked the brake issue themselves. A Mechanic in front of the 2 service techs, Jason Curl and I stated there is no reason to perform the tests. It’s a recall. But still performed the test and it showed no breaks. As the General Manager it’s your responsibility to ensure the safety of your customers. Especially with a recall and it being the breaks.Separate issue. Wheel snaps off In parking lot. Causes me to collide with another vehicle. They state the impact caused it. That’s absolutely incorrect. The will snapping off caused the collision at 5 mph. The red flag is Jason Curl tells me to tell GM that the break caused all this. So he wants me to lie. This isn’t a dome light not working. This is something that could take a life. And GM needs to her the truth. It could be another recall issue. I’ve been without a vehicle since Easter Day. You buy a truck from Smith Chevrolet and pay tons extra for warranties. To walking everywhere and calling for rides. 50,000 dollar truck that was paid pretty much in full. Cashiers check. In general, dealerships usually cost a lot more for repairs. Caliper was abover market cost by about 12%, rotor was above market cost by about 8%, and the most notorious was the brake pads, they exceeded market cost by 190%! On top of that, a labor cost of $300+! Then I was informed I couldn’t do the work myself because the caliper had to be “scanned in”. I own the vehicle, why can I not do repairs myself?!?! I will not return for repairs, but the staff was very courteous and helped me as much as they could.

I had the worst experience at this dealership, I actually ended up driving to Sacramento to purchase my vehicle!I spoke to somebody named Richard, apparently he is some sort of manager there. So I saw a Honda Accord that this Dealership had online. Monday evening, I drove down from Sacramento to look at the car but I was shocked to find out that had closed at 7pm. I sent them an email about the car with an offer. I told the sales manager what had happened and he declined my offer and even told me “you go ahead and look elsewhere because I’m looking on CarGurus to see if there are other accords in the area”. The fact that business was conducted this way is very unacceptable. I feel like I was completely disregarded, especially that here it is Friday and still haven’t received a call back. It is sad that business is done this way even after the Honda Accord has been sitting on the lot since July. Called them on the phone a few days ago before my appointment and asked if they can do an oil change and an alignment on my 2017 Corvette z06/z07. I called and confirmed with multiple service workers and they all said Of course we can do it! I get there and as soon as I check in, we walk out to my car and the worker says we wont be able to do an alignment because the splitter in the front is aftermarket and sits to low although, anybody that knows about C7 z06s knows that the splitter is from FACTORY and OEM with the z07 package. I go home because they said its going to be a hour, my appointment was at 1 and they called me at 330 saying we cant do the oil change because the car isnt able to be lifted due to how low it was how can it be too low to do an oil change on? Am I never supposed to get an oil change? Also, GM requires all Chevrolet dealerships to have the right equipment to service all their cars. So now Im stuck with neither an oil change nor an alignment. Wasted basically my whole day for nothing. Horrible experience and I wouldnt go back with any other cars unless they fix this issue on my Corvette first.

Even something as minimal as an oil change.Brought my company truck in for an oil change and to get the TPMS light reset. They did the oil and tire rotation but didnt have a tech/time to reset the light and would have to come back another day to do so. Took 2.5 hours for an oil change and tire rotation.. then at 5 they wanted to rush me out.Got new tires neaby a few days later and after they took the tires off they showed me that 3 of my mounting lug studs were over torqued and crossthreaded (now im not 100% sure it was smith, but seeing as how they rushed me out they might have very quickly thrown the tires on and went at them with the impact wrench). This is something that should have be noted if they saw it, so i have to assume they did it.Regardless. Took it in for the TPMS light reset and to get an exhaust issue looked at. They spent 4 hours and charged me 200. What they did? Not sure, but they said they couldnt figure out how to reset the tpms without my key fob(i dont have one, it a work truck). Then also they couldnt figure out my exhaust issue. But still wanted 200.Took it to over near sonora. That chevy dealer was much better and knew how to work on a diesel truck.My advice: dont buy a chevy. If you do, dont go here for service.

My family has purchased over 10 different vehicles from Smith Chevrolet. Not sure if there has been a change in management but my most recent expereince has been one of the worst ones. We took the time to go look at their vehicles and wanted to inquire about one. No staff available to help us. So we decided to give them a try online a few days later to give them the benefit of the doubt. Responded but just to stop replying after a couple short messages. Purchased a brand new Jeep from Turlock Dodge Chrysler Jeep and was a pleasant experience. Would not recommend Smith for vehicle needs.

On 6-6-2014 my wife and I decide time to upgrade and get another vehicle. This is our 4th vehicle purchase from Smith Chevrolet. The sales manager Ken Cody and his sales staff treated up with both fairness and courtesy. It again was smooth transaction with deals made on the trade-in and what we wanted as a comfortable payment. A minor issue came up about a week after we purchased it and one call to Mr. Cody, he made good on his verbal promise, if an issue came up, call him. The issue was taken care of today, as promised, no fuss, no hassles at all. Why do I keep coming back to Smith Chevrolet ? Pure and simple. Fairness. No pressure to buy. Willingness to work with you, the customer. If an issue comes up in the short-term, Mr. Cody in most cases can resolve the problem. Will I go back again for a 5th car. YES. For those who are young adults:If you are a young adult trying to buy and new car dont waste your time with this dealership. They will not take you as a serous buyer. I am in my early 20s, I went with the intention of buying a Chevy silverado. My first impression of the dealership was it look new, it looks good, and they have a lot of inventory. However, I soon came to realize that you have to find your own salesman. Even though the building has glass walls and saleman see they have costumer, they will not go out and talk to you. After I found a staff, I told him what type of vehicle I was looking for. I inform him about my prise range. The salesman never showed me the truck I wanted. He kept on trying to sale me the most expensive truck they had. Also, the salesman promise that he was going to give me a call by the end if the day if he found the truck at another of their sister dealership. I went home and look up other branch dealerahip of smith chevrole and found one thag had the truck I wanted. It only took me about 10 minutes to find it. So I wanted thinking the saleman was going to call me soon. I waited two day, after that I call the same dealership I found the truck and ask if someone from their turlock branch had call them. They inform me that no one from the turlock branch had called them.

This dealership refused to do recall work on a vehicle that was recalled by GM and the vehicle was in danger of catching on fire. They were rude and in my opinion very unethical. Would you want to buy a car from a dealership that does not care about your safety? Our family has owned three Chevrolets, but this is the last one we will ever have because of the treatment by this dealership. You want a dealership that cares about you long after you drive the car off the lot. In my opinion, this is dealership is a prime example of only being concerned about getting you to buy the vehicle and could care less about you after you drive away from the dealership. When I was at the lot to try to get recall work done on my vehicle, there was protesters outside of the dealership protesting because their vehicles were not taken care of in the recent GM recall by this dealership.

Talked to Amber, the sales person and she was understanding and said I was right about the ad, but the manager does not agree to his ad. I liked the entire experience at Smith Chev./Cad. but I am disappointed in a couple aspects of my Cad. XT5. One in particular is the fact I cannot charge my iPhone in the charging station, located in the center console. I have learned Android and other brand phones can be slid in to charge but not iPhones. iPhones have to be plugged in to charge. This is really inconvenient and disappointing since it is such luxury veh. and iPhones are so common.
