Brought our 2 year old son to his first dentist check up and right away we were impressed. From the front desk team, cleanliness, colorful decor, and the dentist and technicians, it was a great first experience for my son and us as parents. Can’t wait for our next check up! 🥳

Best dentist I’ve been to! I have 5 kids so I’ve been to a few dentists in my day, and Smiling Seal is so fun and welcoming for kids! I brought my twin boys, 3 years old, and the staff was very friendly and great with them that they just cooperated the whole time. Thank you guys!

An amazing experience overall. The dentist and staff were so patient, understanding, and caring. They followed a patient centered approach to ensure that my kids would feel less fearful of their first dental visit. The office is decorated so cute which made it less scary for my kids. Best kids dentist hands down. We drive here from the AV. The entire staff is awesome. They do an outstanding job. 100% recommend this place to anybody with little ones. From our 2 year old to our 8 year old, these people absolutely shine! Only place we will take our kids. Dr. John is amazing when doing the scary stuff most kids dont like (fillings, crowns, pulling teeth) absolute stud. Thank you Smiling Seal for making our kids feel so comfortable.

Have been here for years (10+). 3 kids under ane 12 and this is the ONLY dentist I recommend. Driving almost 2 hours is well worth it when your kids are not stressed, the visit is quick, and everything is explained so thoroughly to the kids and to the parents.

Weve been coming to this place for around 2 years now. The staff is exceptional and exceptionally nice. The dentists are authentically sweet and professional. Not judgemental at all. My daughter had six cavities and no one ever made me feel like a bad parent just helped me with oral hygiene tips and even admitted that genetics play a big role (my daughter actually brushes every day, so it was frustrating!).They do a tremendous job making sure that kids feel comfortable and distracted. The place looks like a theme park and with tv screens above every chair streaming the Disney channel. Thank God this is my daughters only experience with dentists and now wants to be one.

The smiling seal is such an amazing place to come for kids dentistry. Not only is the build-out amazing with games, fun murals, and TVs on the ceiling, The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My father is a dentist in Lancaster so I’ve grown up around dental offices all of my life and this one definitely takes the cake! They were able to clean the tarter off my wiggly, teething 17 month old which was no small task. And my 4 year old is no longer nervous to go to the dentist. Highly recommend!

For me this is the best Pediatric Dentist in LA especially in Santa Clarita. My son who’s 22 months old needed a treatment for his tooth with cavity . The family dentist office where we usually go recommended us to go to a Pedia clinic however none accommodated us because we were on the process to relocate to Florida except Smiling Seal. On top of that, it was the smoothest dental visit my son had ever had. He had teeth x-ray and Sulfur fluoride treatment without crying! Dr. John Chen and his assistant( I can’t remember his name) are amazing! Dr. Chen is very knowledgeable, smart and caring. As a first time parent he gave us tons of information and practical ways to help take care of our very active toddler’s gums. My husband and I left the clinic not only the feeling of relieve but deeply encouraged. The place is very clean.

Don’t come here if you’re a working parent or have kids that have last minute things come up. This office has ZERO empathy in canceling appointments even when offering proof of why. Rather than me lying and saying my kid was sick I was honest told them I had a school event that conflicted. And they wanted to take my 100$ deposit even tho my co pay was 2$. Had to have family take her to her first appointment that she was extremely nervous for. Rather than her mom due to my work schedule and other kids event. We won’t be coming here nor will I refer anybody to this office.

This place is pretty good for kids... weve been coming here since my kid was mistreated by another dentist who was taught to yell and be mean with kids into not crying during dental visits. The dentists here at Smiling Seal understand kids anxiety and fear and address that in a compassionate and caring manner. They have taken care of my kids teeth, helped pull teeth that stayed in too long, and given good advice in good dental care... they also gave good references for Invisalign and braces orthodontists.

My daughter (5.5 years old) had a great experience for her first time here! Everyone was so polite and patient. My daughter’s first dental experience (another local pediatric Denistry here in SCV) was horrible! She’s already an anxious kid with trying new things so I was skeptical but a friend personally referred us to Smiling Seal and omg it was like night and day! I am so thrilled we found this place. We came in for a second opinion and they were so kind, gentle and patient with me and my child. They took the time to fit us into their schedule and were able to take care of the issue immediately. They made my child feel comfortable and safe when before he’s had a terrible fear of pain/drilling. When they were done with the procedure he asked “are they going to start drilling now”. 2022 My now three-year-old is always SO NERVOUS when we gave to go to the dentist but the minute we walk in the staff is amazing and puts my little ones nerves at ease. 2 appointments so far and not a single tear shed. Love this dentist for my two little girls! I have a two year old and a three year old and the staff always make both girls feel so comfortable. Plus there is always fun things to look at for the girls while they get their teeth cleaned (hanging animal statues, pretty murals on the walls and tv screens at each station on the ceiling so that the kids can watch a show while getting their teeth cleaned). My kids and I love coming to Smiling Seal for their dental care. I have been taking my son 7 years now and my daughter 2. It is such a fun and calming environment. Everything is open to make the parent at ease, especially having two kids seen at once. One in X-ray and the other getting examined, I can see them both at the same and that puts them at ease too being able to see me. The dentists are so caring and personable. They definitely love kids too. At the last visit my son was amazed his provider talked up Pokémon with him. He talked about it the whole way home.

There’s lots of trauma and bad experiences with past dentist that have led them to be anxiety filled when they go to the dentist. I finally was so fed up that I started asking around for recommendations and had a friend that lives in the same area that I do (AV) and makes the drive to Smiling Seal because they’re so amazing. I decided to take my kids for a check up there and check it out for ourselves and we fell in love! Seriously the best, friendliest, most efficient but gentle service ever! My kids get excited now when they find out that they have an appointment! How cool is that! I’m so impressed with the level of care and connection they have with their patients. Taking the time to make them comfortable but also being so quick and efficient. Could not be happier that they are now our new dental care home for our kids.

Well I’ve been taking my daughters for a while. The last time I went my daughter got a different dentist. Not the male DR. John that usually sees her. The female dentist didn’t even ask my daughter to open her mouth when she approached her. Didn’t even say hello. Also,I was waiting for an update on her teeth nobody came to talk to me even though I requested for the dentist to give me an update. Also, I kindly asked If I could come in a few minutes later as my daughter is now starting college classes and she cant miss. The lady on the phone told me she could not be seen later so I got there on time. As I was sitting there waiting for my daughter I hear the receptionist telling a parent that it was okay if they got there 30 minutes later to their appointment when they were already late and they told me they wouldn’t see me If I was more than 10 minutes late. Very disappointed with the whole experience. My daughter with her adult teeth wasn’t in there for more than 20 minutes. Not sure how well they cleaned her teeth as well! Probably not going back!

I have been going to this dentist office for almost 7 years and I love them. Dr. Angela Choi and Dr John are great. They are very different in how they approach caring for my son, but they are always professional. I found them by looking for a dentist that could accommodate my son who is autistic. When I found them my son was newly diagnosed, and he had a lot of sensory issues that made it hard for him to tolerate the dentist and just a simple examination let alone a cleaning. Dr. Angela was the first care for my son and she was just so great. She went along with his flow and I was so thankful. Dr. John is a bit more straightforward and to the point but they both care for my son amazingly. Thank you Smiling Seal Dentistry for the care you have given my son over the years. Took my two daughters ages 8 and 3 and they loved it. My 8 year old had a great visit beginning to end. My 3 year old was little scared which is normal but the dental assistant was so patient with her and was able to get everything done. Both dental assistants were so sweet and very kind. The dentist explained everything to us as well. The receptionist as well very helpful to making the follow-up appointment. They cant wait for their 6 month check up. My sons love this place! They get excited when they know they have an appointment. Literally count down the days. This time, my son (8) needed some work done and he did an amazing job! My younger son was so sad that he didnt get to go this time.. The assistant and doctor Angela were beyond amazing. They made my son feel comfortable and always kept him in the know.To top it off, the entire place is decorated awesome. If youre wondering how they do things during Covid- they take extra precautions. You have to wait outside and call them when you arrive and only one parent can go inside with the patient. Doctor Chen was very informative about the care she needs for her teeth. He explained their concerns and what preventative measures we could take. They took their time when my child was nervous and didnt want to cooperate.I also love that they are COVID conscious. When you arrive they ask that you wait in your car and call to check in. Its especially comforting bc my child is under 2. Wonderful experience all around and wod definitely reccomend them to friends in the area.

I couldn’t be happier with the service at this dentist. They were patient and kind with my son who doesn’t like new anything. Thorough exam and cleaning . We saw Dr. Angela but even the other doctor, I think his name was Jon, came and introduced himself. The office was colorful and clean with screens on the ceiling for the children. She’s never shown any fear or anxiety because the hygienists explain everything in kid friendly terms and allow her to explore. My one year old is more apprehensive, but still has a great experience! My kids love going to the dentist. The waiting room has video games and coloring pages to keep them busy. We have never waited more than 5-10 minutes to get started. The staff is very friendly and takes all of your concerns seriously. My kids love how it is all kid friendly. They get to watch a movie while their teeth are checked. They provide them with sunglasses and earphones. At the end they get a token to put into a gumball machine that gives you a toy. Both of my children love going there.

First off, the decor is absolutely amazing! One of the smartest ideas for children was the televisions attached to the ceiling. Perfect for them so they can watch a movie or show while being treated. The receptionists are so friendly and welcoming. My daughter is 3 years old and it was her first time seeing a dentist. She was shy but the hygienist, Ping and Dr. Choi really helped ease her into it. Ping was very informative and understanding with my daughter not willing to open her mouth at times. Dr. Choi was very professional and explained everything thoroughly. After the visit, we were in the car and my daughter said, “ I like the doctor, Mama.” :)By the way, my daughter received a first time to the dentist certificate with her picture. It was so cute! After paying over $2000 for work on one of my daughters I get another bill for over $100 a couple months later. Between my wife and 3 kids I have spent thousands at different dental offices and have never gotten a bill after. The detailed charges were ridiculous and thats prob why the insurance didnt want to pay it either. Canceled all 3 of my kids next scheduled appointments and wont be going back to a place Im gonna have to worry about getting more bills from every time. Doesnt seem like a smart business move for them. They also last year referred me to an orthodontist for my son who gave me an estimate of $6000 for a bunch of work and years of braces. I found another orthodontist in Valencia where I only had to pay $500 and he didnt even need braces. Dont trust this place or anywhere they refer.

I took my 17month old for her 2nd appt there and it was great. The staff and dentist were so nice, calm and patient with my little one. Only one adult is allowed in with the child. They attempted to clean her teeth then talked to me a little about what was going on with her teeth. I had no idea if she had all her teeth or not so it was good to know. My daughter had three cavities filled today with no anesthesia/laughing gas. Dr. John Chen was absolutely amazing! The same amount of credit needs to go to the dental assistant (didn’t get his name) as well! At first I do have to say I was a little upset that I made sure it was her usual dentist doing her procedure. Then we saw Dr. Chen walk in we were a little surprised. Wish they would have told me as I prepared my daughter for every single detail. Turns out that we were more amazed at how these two worked on her. My youngest had his first x-rays and the hygienist was amazing! He didn’t fight or struggle, and did great at “biting the cookie”. The female dentist is very polite and attentive, but the male dentist is arrogant and has absolutely no manners. As a medical professional myself, I wanted to understand the pros and cons of these many procedures he was recommending, and when I asked what’d be the point of having such invasive treatments when there was a chance the problem my daughter is having would remain unresolved, he stated “don’t you know in medicine nothing is guaranteed?” I felt like I was being treated like a complete ignorant, when all I was doing was trying to understand the rationale of his proposed treatment. The workers and drs are extremely nice, informative, professional and good with kids. My kids have had cavities - or “sugar bugs” they call them and even after the experience of having a filling they still like to go for a cleaning. The services are amazing, the X-ray plate was too big for my daughter to take a good picture so with the patience of the dentist and the staff, they worked together in pushing to get this X-ray shot and their patience paid off. I give 5 stars for Ricardo. He is so knowledgeable and knows how to explain every single detail to parents so we feel comfortable. He is amazing at what he does. The dentists are nice and other staff have been nice as well. But Ricardo brought this place to five stars for me. I hope to get him every time!

The best dentists and staff here. They deal with my youngest so well, who has dental anxiety even for the most basic tasks. They are always on time with our appointments and scheduling is very easy.

This is a great place for kids to feel at ease during their visit. There’s also a plethora of games and activities in the lobby to keep your little ones occupied.The staff there are amazing and well experienced.They know how to make the kids feel at ease and have them look forward to their next visit.

I highly recommend Smiling Seal. This is the only dentist we’ve ever taken our daughter to. We value them so much that we pay out of pocket (her dental insurance is through an HMO).

The team was very kind and took every precaution with the current COVID situation. They were kind and patient with the kiddos. The office is perfectly designed and laid out for any kid to feel comfortable and at ease. We really love this office and will continue visiting. Thank you!

Wonderful Place!!!!I have been in this field for over 22 years. I am a business Manger in Beverly Hills for a dentist. I can have my treatment done on my children for FREE but my seven year old is frightened. I have put him completely under twice & I am unsure why he is traumatized. However, he is. He freaks out over x-rays. Every one of these staff members were fantastic. The doctor was so patient & kind. Yes, I had to pay for something I can get for free & it is worth it. I think that it will take him a couple more times but if have children, TAKE THEM HERE

Thank you Smiling Seal ! Tonight I frantically called them after my son took a spill and chipped his front tooth. They took him in at 6:30 pm when they close at 7pm and he came home feeling much better and with a plan to get his tooth fixed. I was a mess and they could’ve easily turned us away. So happy we called !

The girl at the front desk, was rude! She kept asking the same questions and even after answering, she would continue to ask. She clearly wasn’t paying attention. She was also sick with a cold which I found out after she touched my documents, after finding out we hand sanitizer but I guess it was to late so now my asthmatic child, was who when he gets a cold it goes to his lungs and myself have a cold and will have it for Christmas. Then there was the lady who was waiting for us to make sure the insurance was active! She was just standing in the back sighing and tapping her foot. She was rough and dug into my sons gums for his routine cleaning and got him good, he was bleeding and hurting for quiet awhile after. The dentist was amazing though. So patient and sweet and caring like she should be.

Our child has always had an extreme fear of the dentist. After multiple appointments, Dr. Jon and his staff helped our child become comfortable enough to finish the needed treatments. I can’t speak highly enough about the whole staff!

I wasn’t a fan of how much they tried to push on x rays by not only the dental hygienist but even after I said I wasn’t going to do x rays on my 2 year old he sarcastically said “yeah well we will let the DR make that decision.” As if as a parent I don’t have the final say so! At the end of the day these dental offices need to realize they work for us not the other way around!!!!! I can easily take my business and insurance else where which I will! Bye bye

Smiling Seal is a fun, warm, and welcoming place for kids. There are video games in the waiting room and televisions on the ceiling at every station. The staff is kind and knowledgeable. My kids love it!

I always had trouble with my kids at any dentist from one dentist they would refer us to another dentist because they just couldnt work on them they just wouldnt cooperate but since we started going to smiling seal it was a life change they look forward to there appointments and are even excited to come home and brush there teeth.
