Sky Martial Arts is awesome! This is the first Karate experience for my 4 year old son & it has been great! The staff are kind, professional, & very kid friendly. I constantly see them taking their time to make each student feel welcome while still enforcing their values. They have a lot of family friendly activities like bring a friend day, picture day, etc… If you or your family are looking for a great place to start or transition I would highly recommend!

Our son has been attending Sky martial arts since he was 4 years old, he’s almost 10yrs old now. The entire Sky team is great and I highly recommend. They are very family oriented and teach the students Respect, self control, and discipline.

Our 5yr old daughter has been attending Sky Martial Arts Simi for over a year now and she loves it! I literally cannot give Sky Martial enough praise! Not only is the entire staff friendly and professional but you can tell they put great value on the core development learning process of the child both emotionally and physically. Master Hwang and his instructors have a wonderful way with the students. They use humor to encourage their performance and truly care about them. This has been an amazing experience and we look forward to eventually seeing our daughter earn her black belt.

Weve been going to classes at Sky Martial Arts for over a year now and its been a wonderful experience for my daughter who started at 4 years old. We tried another studio before coming here, but preferred Sky Martial Arts because of the learning environment and great instructors. For young children starting out, they provide a wonderful mix of fun while still learning the basics and fundamentals of martial arts. The discipline, respect and self-defense skills my daughter is learning is truly invaluable and I hope she continues on here for years to come!

We love Sky Martial Arts! Instructors are so amazing with our high energy 4 year old son! They have been really helping with so much more then just what they teach in classes! He loves going there! We are in our second year with them. Instructor Isabell (sorry if I spelled that wrong) has been so supportive and engaged with our son and challenges him, which is exactly what he needs! My 8 year old started when he was 5.5 and he has learned so much from the wonderful Master Hwang and his instructors. We wanted our son to be a better listener, be respectful and to display discipline in all he did. He has learned that and so much more. He applies the 7 rules to being a successful student in his everyday habits. We love having them to refer to (greeting family, cleaning room, doing well in school etc). Sky Martial Arts treats you like family and we are so happy to be a part of this excellent organization!

My son loves it here! He has taken 23 classes and enjoyed all of them. He leaves with a big smile on his face. As a white belt, he got to brake a board and I have never seen him so proud. He is one more step from his yellow belt test and I am bursting with pride for him and gratitude for sky martial arts and the instructors.The pictures are from his first class, but they have since moved inside.

Sky Martial Arts is great! My son has been going there for about 6 months & he absolutely loves it! They focus on teaching kids respect & discipline, but they make it fun for them. They also really work on their confidence by helping to build their self-esteem. These are values & tools that will help them for the rest of their lives. After business opening back up from Covid, my 2 boys were so eager to join a Martial Arts program and we are all really happy with Sky Martial Arts. All of the Leaders, Instructors and Master take great care to the proper forms and there are enough of them in each class that if your child is struggling or not getting the form quite right, one of them is there to help so your kid gets the proper attention they need to get it right. They focus on form, they teach discipline and the kids always have a great time.

My son has been going to Sky Martial Arts for a few years now. He has never stuck to anything this long and continues to love his martial arts class. Master Hwang has a great talent for connecting with kids and using the right balance of discipline when needed. During the COVID crisis, it has been impressive at the extent the business took to go online but also allow social distancing classes outside for those who preferred that. You could tell they were going above and beyond to accommodate to everyone’s comfort level. We are so thankful we found this gem!

Sky Martial Arts is a phenomenal school for children to build their confidence and learn martial arts. Master Hwang is very knowledgeable and a wonderful teacher. Students receive awards through their belt ranks and actual certificates when they reach black belt! Additionally, Sky Martial Arts participates in tournaments and has a Demo Team where students can showcase their skills and provide public demonstrations.Pricing is reasonable given the amount of individual attention the students receive! Master Hwang is AWESOME! The staff and the instructors are great also. Looking for a studio where your child will grow, then look no further. Here your child will find their inner confidence. My son has been attending this studio for over a year and he does not want to leave. He loves how much he has grown and he loves his confidence he has found. My four year old son started attending this location in January, 2021 during the pandemic. We just moved to Simi, and we wanted my son to be with a great instructor. The instructors here are amazing! My son used to be in another place where they only had one instructor for the whole class of 3-5 year olds. Here, you get 2-3 instructors per class. The attention the kids receive is phenomenal. My son has learned so much! His attention span, behavior, and manners have improved for a 4 y.o. boy. Additionally, they communicate with the parents so well. Parents do have to wait outside which is not bad because we can see through the windows. As long as we live in Simi, my son will continue to take classes here. We are really pleased with everything.

We signed our daughter up early this year when she was only 3yrs old for the 2 week trial. We werent sure if she would enjoy it or not. She got a little scared in the beginning with the yelling, but she quickly got used to it. Master Hwang and the rest of the staff/leaders are truly great with the kids. He has a great mix of silliness and seriousness to keep the attention but gain respect from what has to be a very challenging age range to control. Our daughter has been attending twice per week for almost 6 months now and she absolutely loves it and looks forward to going each time.

Update: it’s been two years and my son is still attending the studio and still loooooves it! What an amazing environment for a growing body and mind to be! Children practice their curriculum all while learning to be respectful and hard-working, not fearing challenges and making friends!All the instructors are very friendly and encouraging! The studio is very clean and they do everything to maintain all the safety recommendations! My 10 year old twins love their taekwondo classes at Sky (two 35-minute classes a week). In fact, they were just telling me today that time flies by when theyre in class because its so fun. My son started a month before the pandemic (February 2020) and is now more than halfway to his black belt (blue). My daughter started at the end of 2020 and has her purple stripe belt. So they actually did a bulk of their classes over zoom, and I only sent them back in person this past March. Sky has implemented measures like requiring all students and staff to wear masks, sanitizing in between classes, and restricting parent observation to outdoors, so I feel my kids are pretty safe in there. Master Hwang has awesome energy and is amazing with the kids. The instructors are great. Mikki at the front desk is very easy to reach by phone or e-mail for any questions and is super friendly. I really like that taekwondo has not only been keeping my kids physically fit but also teaches them listening skills and the importance of respect for others.

My daughter has been attending Sky Martial Arts for some time now and we just love it. Master Hwang and all the instructors are top notch - the way these classes are run is very authentic and all of the kids, including mine, respond incredibly well. Master Hwang holds everyone to high standards and my daughter loves trying her best to meet them. My daughter is naturally a wild child and has a tendency to give up on things the minute they get hard. From her very first class we noticed a shift in that attitude plus an interest in trying (and completing) activities she assumed would be hard. Discipline and focus are taught with love and care in a very encouraging supportive manner, rather than negative discipline.Other studios dont compare. My brother has been attending Sky Martial Arts since he was 3 years old, he is now age 8 and a 1st degree black belt :)I like how playful Master Hwang is with the younger kids in the beginner classes- hed make my brother laugh and have fun in his classes. Each class group is attuned to the age/skill levels. Master Hwang also teaches discipline and respect. My brother enjoys his classes, especially when they get to do new kicks and flips. I also like how instructors give my brother individual attention when they can see hes having trouble with something new. Lastly, I like how Sky Martial Arts takes COVID precautions, allowing my family to feel that hes safe coming to in-person classes :)

We had been considering putting our 5.5 year old in some form of martial arts for sometime, then my husband found a Groupon for Sky Martial Arts and we decided to give it a try. There’s a reason why this place is packed for every class session. I love that my son is so focused and engaged during the 40 minute lessons. In a matter of 2 months, he already moved up a belt. They have several ways to keep the students motivated by giving stickers to track on a recording sheet. Then they receive medals and trophies as they collect more stickers. And finally, Master Hwang and his instructors are energetic, friendly and offer the immediate feedback and support each student needs to improve. I can’t rave about this place enough!

This place is the best we try, I had my son in other Taekwondo for 4 years and I have to pull him out because the master was rude and you were a number or wherever student it didnt matter they only want your money. I sign my son in SKY MARTIAL ARTS and as soon as we started we were so happy, even my son said MOM WHY YOU DIDNT SIGN ME HERE FROM IN THE BEGINNING The Sky Martial Arts they treat you like a family, you arent just a wherever student, you are actually a student, they appreciate your hard work and the MASTER is respectful, FUN with the kids and the appreciate the hard work that our kids do. We are very grateful we stopped at Sky Martial Arts’ booth at Simi’s Street Fair. Our daughter wouldn’t interact with the staff at the fair. But after watching her cousin have fun in his SMA class, she couldn’t wait to try. Sky Martial Arts’ Studio is bright and inviting. The staff is excellent and the instructors enthusiastic and always model respectful behavior. It comes from the top, Master Hwong is gracious and fair, kind and firm. It’s amazing to watch the littlest wiggly students (age 3) try to turn somersaults and quickly find their dots (marks on the floor) then sit properly and stand still, at attention. It’s amazing and trickles back into the home.Our family is tighter and happier because of the discipline (respect, self control, wisdom) we are all learning from Sky Martial Arts. My daughter is 4, has been going here for less than a year, and is already showing great improvements. Master Hwang is great with the kids and knows when to be playful and when to be serious with them, which I think is important for the little ones. I have to say that Master Dante, who leads her Power Ranger class, is AMAZING. He is so very patient with the kids. He’s a young guy, but is so great with the kids. He’s playful with them, but still demands respect, and he’s kind with them. He also takes the time to show them what to do so they can actually learn. Most importantly, my daughter has grown to trust him and he has never let her down. Whether it’s helping her jump down because she’s scared or making sure she’s ok if she stubs her toe. I appreciate the care for my daughter while teaching her. I highly recommend this place.

I have been going to Sky Martial Arts Simi for almost a year now. Head Master Hwang is a great teacher who expects students to work hard, do their best, and not give up; but sets challenges and expectations realistic for the ability and athletic level the student is at.Classes have variety to keep them interesting, and I learn something every single class. I dont just learn how to do the techniques and movements, I learn why it is done that way.Head Master Hwangs knowledge and passion for martial arts is apparent as he teaches classes. As you would expect at a martial arts studio, respect and self-discipline are emphasized. I think that Head Master Hwang balances this well with kindness and patience.
