Sky Cafe is certainly a hidden gem. Went here with family before dropping them at SFO to go home and its easily some of the best vegan food Ive had in the bay. Truly enjoyed everything we ate - including appetizers, entrees, and desert. Highly recommend for meat eaters and vegans alike.

It does the job!!Luckily for vegetarians, this part of the city has plenty of options, and the crew at sky cafe did a good job offering a well balanced quality/price ratio meal.Party of three, we tried different dishes with an appetizer to get the idea of what this place has to offer. It does the job. Atmosphere was good with a clean neat place, crew was friendly and customer service oriented so I have really nothing bad to say other than, go and check and give it a try.One quick tip for improvement tho, take care of presentation and make sure you update the menu on a regular basis.

OMG the food at this place isabsolutely amazing!!! lve beenvegetarian since January 2024 so notthat long. I have to say that the food I ate at this place was way tastierthan any real meat lve eaten in mywhole life. The staff are great, theatmosphere is super low key, therewas a band playing out in the patioand generally an all around good vibe.I will definitely be back. Incredible service. Incredible food. Casual but nice atmosphere. Food is made with skill and compassion. Stop eating animals and enjoy everything that Sky Cafe offers. Plus, if youre not sure what to order, just ask them. We had excellent recommendations and were not disappointed.

Immaculate vibes in here. Cutest French terrier named Jack greeted us along with the server. The food was mainly comfort style with great flavors. The asparagus was so tasty along with all the food. Loved all of it! The service is so nice and they also have a super cool jazz area with live music. Definitely recommend, it’s also only like 7 minute drive away from SFO airport so it’s easy to get there after touching down.

Let me rave a minute about this TOP notch vegan food that I blissfully enjoyed from bite to bite today!!! I am so happy I got to try this place and food. Everything tasted wonderful.Burrito with beef has a buttery tortilla and tasty filling. Sweet and sour pork is a star and out of this world. Pad Grapow was felt to be better than the original. Definitely not cheap, by any means (my double Impossible Burger with fries and a glass of water came to $29 after tax and tip!), but quite delicious, and the atmosphere has a nice vibe to it.[I was confused, though, by the fact that the menu they handed me was only MOB vegan grill/bbq foods (burgers, fried chicken, soul food style stuff)... whereas the menu online and out front is completely different (more Asian and Mexican dishes]

I was pleased to discover this delightful vegan restaurant near me on a work trip. Quaint little front dining area, but I sat in the back room. Nothing much to look at there, but I stumbled in on a live jazz music night, and they play in the back. So why not?Service was EXCELLENT. My waiter was very personable and accommodating. She enthusiastically went to the kitchen and asked questions when she didnt know answers to my queries (such as what is the shrimp made of?).Now for the food. Ive had several vegan restaurants takes on jalapeno poppers, and only one has perfected it. Well now, two. Sky Cafes version is A+ and ties for the best Ive ever had.My main course was the Argentina Chimichurri. It was quite bland, unfortunately. As a stark contrast to the supremely great poppers, nothing on that dish had much flavor. Not even the chimichurri sauce (usually a flavor powerhouse). Perhaps it was an off night for that dish. Apologizing about having to be that guy, I asked if it were possible to swap to a different main. The staff was very kind and understanding, and eagerly took the chimichurri back and whipped up a replacement.The substitute Thai Pad Gra Prow was MUCH better. For a non-Thai restaurant, it tasted fairly authentic and very yummy. (Bonus points for not having to ask about fish sauce, chicken stock, or eggs like I usually do at Thai places.) I would definitely get it again.Oh, and they have a pretty eclectic hot sauce collection. I tried a few with the Thai and now have a new favorite target to hunt down - Perrona Green With Chiltepin Peppers Hot Sauce. A cool bonus for this hot sauce enjoyer!Great place. Really good food. Reasonably priced. Superior staff. Im definitely going back when Im in the area next.Recommended!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and wow this was a find! Great healthy vegan place.Good:- Loved the wet burrito, so much flavor and for not meat, it tasted so much like meat- great portion sizes- Nice outdoor patio! This is a small restaurant with really good vegan food. We had the chicken sandwich and it was fantastic. It is also really big and comes with fries. Also ordered the cerviche and a “lamb” dish. All were excellent and plentiful. Definitely will go again.

What a treat. We found this coming from the airport and what a gem. The chef came to our table shortly after we arrived and chatted with us. He clearly cares about his customers and his menu. Had the Indian plate and a mushroom special along with the jalapeño poppers and a few wines. Don’t miss this place.

This place is freaking amazing!!! The owner and chef Kenney is very friendly and accommodating. He suggested some custom options that were delicious 😋. He made a custom breakfast wet burrito with vegan spam and eggs that was off the charts. Pancakes and began bacon were delicious. Even the tea was top notch. We go to lots of top rated vegan spots around the world and this place is up there.

My partner and I are from WA state and we have a few vegan restaurants. However, WA just doesn’t quite get it right. Instead of going to numerous restaurants to try things out, we just came to Sky Cafe for 2 days in a row and did not regret our decision. Do you think I can get wedding catering to WA? Stopped in for my first time today and couldn’t believe how good the “lamb” lavash was. So much flavor and left me feel great afterwards. I have an omnivorous diet but would come back with other omnivorous friends to try! Looking forward to catering my next lunch and learn with this place.

Had a great dinner here. Everyone was so friendly and they had a live performer who sounded amazing. They’ve nailed the taste and texture of the fake meat in both plates I tried (the meatloaf and the lamb kebab). Amazing flavors and environment - would definitely recommend to anyone! Also they gave out complimentary scoops of ice cream at the end, and the peanut butter raspberry flavor was awesome. So creamy and flavorful that I questioned if it was really vegan because of just how good it was. 10/10 place

We had the most amazing service experience at Sky Cafe!! Everyone we interacted with was courteous, friendly and welcoming. We accidentally ended up staying long after closing on a Friday night and yet no one rushed us as we completed our meal. Instead, the staff were incredibly accommodating and understanding. I sincerely appreciate how well they took care of us and I hope everyone gets the opportunity to visit this gem of a place soon! Thank you Sky Cafe!

Delicious vegan food, friendly and helpful waitstaff. Not a fancy place - decor, menus, furniture all worn and low-key. But its whats inside that counts, and whats inside are novel and creative vegan takes on dishes from around the world, including Argentina, Thailand, Mexico, Central Asia, Japan, and the US.

Absolutely one of the best Vegan restaurants around Bay area. Food was amazing, ambiance was pleasant and the service was super friendly. I love this place so much! Just stopped by for coffee + dinner take-out and was gifted a delicious plant-based/vegan carnitas taco by the wonderful chef/owner, Kenny. How did he know food is one of my love languages? 🥰 I absolutely adore the food, atmosphere, the owner, and the staff are lovely too. The first time we came here we sat down for lunch and it impressed my non-vegan friends as well. We had the burger, bahn-mi sandwich, cauliflower wings, samosas, lumpia, and chicken & waffles. All of it was fantastic. 🔥🔥🔥 We had a nice chat with Kenny after we ate outside on the warm patio. This time were trying the Indian Thali plate, kimchi omelette, and samosas. Ill definitely be coming back to try more things and I understand the menu changes sometimes, so Im excited to see what else this badass new place comes up with next. This place is fantastic! A great place for vegans, veggies, and omnivores alike!The chicken katsu was excellent, with a sweet, flavorful sauce and super crispy outside!The Buffalo cauliflower had the crispiest exterior I have had anywhere (wonder how they make it like that!). Then I got the special which was BBQ ribs with a cold macaroni salad and this delicious warm buttery grilled veggies (squash, onion, broccoli) omg! Ended with a peach pastry with ice cream and the ice cream had these chocolate chunks it was awesome! 🤩Everything I got came out to be ~$40-45 (before tip).The cook told me the BBQ ribs he made were from wheat gluten, it was juicy and correct texture!The only con was that I got this cider beer in a can, and I think it had gathered dust in the back of the fridge because when I poured it in my glass I saw some debris float at the top. Came here for a solo brunch and the traditional waffles and fried chicken did not miss! The chicken was some of the best meat substitute for chicken I’ve ever had- juicy and well seasoned. The waffle could have been a bit undercooked as it was a little well done but that’s okay, it was still super good. The staff was also super friendly and inviting. The largest taco 🌮 I have ever seen and its here. 🤤 The 🌯 flavored gently w/salsa and in-house tortilla chips. The cuisine blended well together IMHO. Host is a delight. Kool atmosphere, active district and seating in rear. Chef never skimps on heavy portions. I respect the price point given the amount of food prepared and very well crafted.

She ordered what was highly recommended by the staff, Korean Kim Chi Fried Rice. It was very disappointing. I had high hopes for this place and it didnt deliver. The fried rice was very salty along with the Kim Chi. The potatoes that came with it was very oily. I ended up throwing it all away because it didnt feel healthy eating it. The egg omelette that wraps the fried rice is very thin and salty as well. Its like only 1 egg was used for the omelette. For a dish that costs $15? It didnt feel filling eating afterwards. Highly recommend going somewhere else for vegetarian/vegan food.

My family and I went for a Saturday evening dinner. It was excellent. It is has a cafe feel but with food that can match-up to any sheik restaurant. They offered both inside and outside dining and there was a cool jazz trio playing outside. The food was delicious. This was the first time my children (8 and 10) ate vegetarian and they loved it-- that alone was impressive. Server was very nice, food came in a reasonable time frame, parking was easy, area was nice. I highly recommend this place for an excellent meal off the beaten path.

Stopped by on a walk with my dog. Decided to order as I have been eyeing this place. Inside, very nice ambiance; and in the back, they have patio seating and a band was setting up. I ordered the Japanese Chicken Katsu for take out, which comes with mashed potatoes and veggies on the side. The gravy was delicious, but they only gave the tiniest bit of it and the entire meal was such a small portion, I was shocked! For almost $19, I thought that it would be double the size of what they gave, so that was really disappointing. I couldn’t even savor anything because it was gone within a few bites. I’m tiny too and it didn’t fill me up. Everything tasted fine but it was way, way too little for that price. :(

I parked up the street and around the corner. Being from out of state, I was unaware of the different parking zones. I found a spot and parked. When I put my card in the meter, it would only allow me to pay for 24 minutes. Watch out for the green curb. Thats a 24 minute zone. I hiked down to the restaurant and entered. The interior is nice. There is a big bar and a few tables. It is all vegan cuisine, so good karma and love resonates within. The friendly staff greeted me and we talked about the limited parking. Shout out to Kenny, who set an alarm to let me know my meter was expiring. I sat at a table with a window view of the street. I ordered a big salad to start. A huge bowl of fresh greens with hot chilis and garbanzos came to my table. I had to take a call before my salad arrived. The call upset me, so I had to have my salad boxed up, to go. I ordered a beyond burger blend vegan burger. I had shared my low sodium dietary requirement with the server, and was offered fresh fries sans the salt. I agreed to the fries. I had all that boxed up. My meter was expiring, too, so it was time to hike back to the car. I took it all to my hotel room, where I thoroughly enjoyed it, later. The food was excellent, but the service was even better. This experience was the best and most memorable part of my visit to San Francisco!

This place is absolutely incredible! Best vegan food Ive ever had. Were visiting from Houston and we wish we had one of these back home.The interior of the restaurant is modern with an open floor plan where you can see the kitchen. The staff is knowledgeable and accommodating. They went above and beyond with my gluten-free diet.If you are vegan or would like to try different worldly cuisines I definitely recommend a visit. We used to live in South San Francisco and there has never been a Vegan restaurant available in this city. My son isnt Vegan and loved his wet burrito. Maybe they’re calling the wrong number?I took my fiancée and her father here. We had a GREAT time!! The food was hot and delicious. I got the burger which was a little messy, but so SO good!! And it came with a huge helping of fries. Everything tasted great and I couldn’t even tell the burger was vegan. The owner introduced himself to use and chatted with us for a bit. Best food I have ever tried! This is my number 1 restaurant then its Wildseed, SF. We ordered the tostadas de ceviche and 😲 so delicious! I ate it in 10 seconds. Then we also ordered the satay chicken and just tastes like real chicken kabob! My boyfriend ordered the sweet sour pork and it was scary, it also tasted very similar, so delicious by chef Mam. I recommend this restaurant to anyone! I would just say that the menu is poor looking, it needs some improvement on colors, to make it more modern. The food is too great to have a basic looking menu. The most amazing restaurant in the bay (and its vegan!). Kenny, the owner, changes the menu frequently to incorporate foods from all over the world. All of the dishes are AMAZING. If I had to choose favorites, Id say the poppers, the samosas, and the tostadas for appetizers, and the kimchi fried rice omelette and wet burrito for main courses. Kenny also hosts musical events with a fixed menu on their outdoor patio once or twice a month, which is such a fun experience. If I lived closer Id be here every day. Do yourself a favor and GO!!!

I saw the vegan corned beef and cabbage special on Instagram and immediately rented a car and headed South half expecting theyd be sold out before I got there. Lucky me, not only were they not sold out, we were able to get a table and tuck into the phenomenally delicious corned beef - on Saint Patricks Day no less. The taste, the texture, the appearance - all fabulous. id almost say magically delicious if it werent a copyright infringement.We also had the sisig laing dish and lumpia and all were so damn good as one has come to expect of the former Nicks Kitchen. I wish I lived closer to this gem that also has a patio thats heated and covered.When I asked, I learned that unlike some restaurants, the owner and chef:- Makes Filipino laing with fresh taro leaves, which is time-consuming!- Wants people to use his restaurant as a community space for free meditation and chi gong, live music and DJing, and to sell vegan skincare and someday host an outdoor vegan farmers market.
