Stayed here many many times, always phenomenal.Clean rooms and very plush in my opinion. Amenities are amazing. Staff was warm and welcoming. They provide dishes, dish soap, coffee, ect. in the rooms. This has been one of my very favorite places to stay for a few years. If you want to.relax, youll love it here.

I discovered the Sierra Mountain Inn when I was searching for a place to stay near downtown Grass Valley. The beds are so comfy (Ive stayed in 4 different rooms) and all of them make you melt into the sheets. It is close to the grocery store, restaurants and shopping. You can easily walk to town. Ive stayed here so many times I feel like Im at home when Im here. Customer service is great, everyone is very nice and helpful. Highly recommend!!

Super comfy, roomy and clean! Very close to downtown Grass Valley. The bed and linens were amazing. I didn’t want to get out of bed! Strong shower pressure and large bathroom. My parking space was right in front of my door as well. Will definitely be visiting again!

I have been having a good stay at the Sierra Mountain Inn. They are very hospitable and gracious with their customers. I stayed for 10 nights and had a blast downtown the whole trip.

Nice little boutique hotel. Well maintained with clean rooms and good beds. There is an option for 2 Bedrooms with a kitchenette which is great for small families. I took one star out because our shower was broken and there was no consistent temperature in the water and we noticed that the carpet was little mucky and old. Also parking is bit tight you have to take a three or four point turn to bring your car out. But overall the staff was very friendly. it was a great place to stay if you are in the area for a couple of days.

I had a lovely stay. These folks worked with me when my first flight out for my visit was unexpectedly cancelled; they were so kind and helpful. The bed was perfect: incredibly soft and comfy, like sleeping on a cloud. Theyre close enough to downtown to walk to restaurants, and theres even a little kitchenette with a fridge for leftovers! If walking isnt an option, they have a dedicated parking space for each room. The shower was even better than the one I have at home! All rooms have AC and my room had a ceiling fan, which was great since there was a heat wave. Climate change: 0/10, not a fan. On the other hand, this hotel: 10/10, would definitely stay there again!

Our room was super clean and the whole place was cute with nice grounds! The staff was really nice and very helpful! Our bed was incredibly comfy!!! It was a beautiful short walk to downtown and was surrounded by lovely Victorian homes. We would suggest this spot to all and we’re sure we’ll be going back!

Ive stayed here twice, and Diane has been a treat both times--kind, attentive, jovial. The rooms are cozy, have a microwave and a mini fridge, and a small TV. Youre about an 8 minute walk from downtown and Marshalls pasties. This is my preferred place to stay when Im up visiting--to the point that Ill plan my trip based on when they have availability.

I would love to be able to give the Sierra Mountain Inn a shining review however I was very disappointed in the property after my stay and would not recommend it to anyone. The few good things about the inn include it’s location which is close enough to the downtown area without being bothered by the immediate traffic and noise which is consistent in the historic main thoroughfare. The style of the buildings is reminiscent of a good old fashioned American motor lodge where you can drive right up to your room and not have to deal with lugging suitcases upstairs (a must for those with bad backs like myself) and the inn offers two bedrooms suites with kitchenettes which are hard to find if you are traveling with kids or two couples. That unfortunately is the end of the good. The parking situation is awful. Our space required major maneuvering to get in and out of and if anyone with a long bed truck or xl suv had parked in the adjacent spots we wouldn’t have been able to get out at all. We stayed in the two bedroom King suite - room number 10. When we arrived the room appeared to be clean but closer inspection showed that housekeeping had left the half-used toilet paper and paper towel rolls from the previous guests and had just triangled the ends. A major no-no for sanitary reasons and unforgivable after Covid. I took photos of the toilet paper roll with another unopened one provided by the inn to show that the one on the spindle was used. The room did not present the warm, appealing atmosphere depicted in the advertised photos. It was kind of shabby. (I’ve included a side by side photo of the advertised room and the room as it was). The full length mirror outside of the bathroom door has a broken frame sticking out into the room. The carpet seams are fraying and there stains on the tiled areas.The rooms also do not have phones so if you do not have a cell phone or if you have one without good service in this area that can be a major inconvenience.Our bed was comfortable but we were provided with a single king size pillow and a lumpy standard size pillow per side of the bed which is just cheap did a number on our necks. Lastly, and by far the worst was the bathroom. Our room had a shower which in most cases would be fine but this bathroom shower head dripped the entire time, and the valves are low quality and touchy so getting a decent temperature and maintaining water pressure was ridiculously tricky. On top of that the inn did not provide a bath mat with traction and the one they did provide was little better than a small towel. The vent fan is either broken or not hooked up so the condensation from taking a 5 minute shower makes everything in the bathroom wet and slick and I slipped and wrenched my back getting out of the shower as a result. I spent the next couple days in pain and had to cancel some of the activities I had planned to do which was very disappointing. Why the inn would have this kind of set up is beyond me, it’s incredibly dangerous.

After being evacuated because of the River fire, we had a great stay one night at the Inn. We had a bad experience the night before so a clean, comfortable and friendly experience was just what we needed!! Our room was perfect and comfortable. The owner was so nice to us and found a way to get us in a little early so we wouldnt have to sit in our cars and wait with animals. We got a really good rest and felt so comfortable! Great job!

My wife and I stayed here for our 6 month anniversary. Our room was small (queen size bed), quaint, and clean. We enjoyed how easy it was to walk to downtown Grass Valley.We did run into a couple issues. One, we werent able to get hot water consistently (despite a trick the staff gave us, which was to turn both knobs on the sink along with the shower). Our second morning we werent able to get hot water at all. Second, the pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Perhaps a good reminder to bring familiar ones from home when possible. As a side note, the Wi-Fi wasnt reliable and slow, though this wasnt a big issue for us. Overall, our stay was fine. We spent most of our days in Grass Valley out and about so our time in our room was minimal.

This is my second stay here. I had a great experience on the first visit as well. Diann the office manager is very accommodating and friendly. We stayed in room 10. It has a kitchenette, king, and queen bed. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were really nice. There was a beautiful redwood tree right outside our window. The inn is in a great location. It’s right down the street from historic shops downtown. My favorite was Lazy Dawg-don’t go in if you’re on a diet.

Its a cute place. Small but cozy rooms. Nice bed, a great shower, microwave, fridge, easy to use coffee maker. It was a hassle free experience. When I arrived I was greeted by a staff member and her granddaughter and after that I didnt hear a peep from anyone. It was great. The eyes were only a phone call or short walk away should I need anything but other than that I had my privacy. The heater in the room was great and while it wasnt silent, I couldnt hear the heaters from the rooms next to me. A good heater was key because the room got cold fast. The bathroom floor was always freezing but putting a towel down helped. It was a nice place. I will be staying there again.

The cutest inn Ive stayed at! The staff was friendly and helpful on arrival. The room was clean with decoratively folded towels. We stayed in room 11 which was basically a little studio with a kitchen area. Short distance from downtown Grass Valley. Overall we were very impressed by the quality and comfort of the room.

I stayed in the cottage which is decorated with such charming farm style decor with a modern flair. Sierra Mountain Inn has become our go-to for short visits to Grass Valley, Nevada City, and Auburn. We live in the Bay Area but enjoy short trips away from city life. This place was very charming. A sweet little home away from home. Very pleasant and quiet. We ended up needing to bring our young puppy with us last minute and, Kathleen without hesitation quickly accomidated us and our fur baby. Leaving two little doggy bones on a doggy blanket in our room. Very highly recommended. The price is well worth what we were given. It was VERY comfortable :) you wont be disappointed!!

When we arrived, the front desk lady was so friendly and helpful - she even upgraded us to a suite at no additional cost. Cute little place to stay! The grounds are attractive and the room was very clean and charming. This is a motel-style inn and not a Victorian house. The location was great as we could walk down a hill to shops, bars and dinner. The climb back up the hill was some exercise- especially after eating and drinking!Reception was friendly. I stay here on a fairly regular basis. It is my preferred hotel in Grass Valley. Its located a short 5 minute walk from downtown, but it has none of the noise. The rooms are always clean, and its always a pleasure to deal with the staff.

Nice place. Seperate rooms its like a little apartment. Comes with a kitchenette. 2 bathrooms a tub and shower and great a.c.The only serious downsides was the wifi was almost never working and the shower is super weird. It fluctuates between super hot and super cold. Took me 3 days to figure out the knobs.

SMI is a quaint little motel in Grass Valley. There is nothing special about and nothing bad about it. The woman at the front desk was great and very friendly. The room itself was tiny and somewhat claustrophobic for me. There arent a lot of choices in Grass Valley so I may be back, but I will look at options before booking here again.

Absolutely Adorable 1 bedroom cottage with complete kitchen. Visiting with 2 sons for 5 days so needed a place to hang out and cook meals. Very conveniently located a couple of blocks from charming downtown village and stores!Very comfy and homey!! So happy I chose the cottage as I have been enjoying use of stove and oven. Full size fridge. Huge savings on meals for 3 adults.BTW, I love to cook and my sons miss Moms food..lol.Totally recommend Sierra Mountain Inn..great wifi and TV reception. Feels like home!

Im certain the handful of good reviews for this place are either the owner, or people that do not travel much with low standards. Had a short business trip in the area and there were not anything available in the typical Sheraton/Hilton chains that I stay 200 nights of the year, so thought Id give a local inn a try, as it was close. Sadly, it was a bad decision. When I mentioned where I was staying to the locals at the hospital I was working at, they cringed and said it used to be a run-down, nasty homeless shelter that someone bought up and tried to remodel. they indeed have remodeled their rooms, the marble walls in the tiny shower and new counter tops probably wow the casual traveler. However, the mattresses was old and lumpy and the stories of the place made me fearful that this old bedding may be infested with bed bugs or something; however, the only bugs I found were beetles, ants and spiders in the room... not great, but could have been worse, I suppose. Even the need maid service/do not disturb sign was covered in dead bugs and spiderwebs... housekeeping is not a strong point here. The old 19 CRT TV on a wall stand in the corner of the ceiling and the thin walls that make you feel like you are in the traffic outside scream cheap motel despite the new coats of paint and pretty shower. The final straw was when they charged me for a 2nd day after I had, in advanced, cancelled the 2nd day of my original reservation. They indicated that the travel agency I booked it through would need to call to get my reimbursement, but when the agency called, the owner refused to grant the reimbursement, leaving me to dispute the charges with my credit card company. The place had only 3-4 guests, so it wasnt like they are booked to capacity to miss out on even a late cancellation... just gouging to make up for lack of business. Stay away...

Just cancelled two rooms at Sierra Mountain Inn in Grass Valley. Made the reservation through Expedia. Cancelled for a family emergency. I have to cancel to take care of a parent who just had an emergency. Called Expedia and they stated that if I cancel that Sierra Mountain Inn would charge Expedia 10% for cancelling and that charge would be pushed on to me. I think it is poor on the part of Sierra Mountain Inn to not cancel completely. 1. I gave a 8 day notice and the evening in question is New Years and they will be able to rebook no problem. 2. I will be sharing this unfortunate experience with my friends in Grass Valley who are hosting the party for over 60 folks many who will be coming from out of the area. They take no ownership or responsibility of what goes on .Fraud alert....Sierra Mt. scammed me for $1000.00 !!!! Watch your credit card account.Cash is also taken which allows the undesirable to check in and cause havoc.There are so many bed & breakfast in Grass Valley that blow away this motel away. Thats right MOTEL !!! NO better than a motel off the freeway.Why is it that your parking lot always seem to be empty ?
