The Predator DNC has been a great tool for transfer of CNC programs throughout the years and will be for years to come at Ohlinger Industries.Our recent project required the purchase of multiple MOXA antennas, to upgrade older antennas, upon upgrading the APs that broadcast Wi-Fi. All of the supplied documentation was remarkably easy to follow. Our IT guy whined long enough to get our XP machine booted off the network. We needed another option to load programs.Shop Floor Automation makes a floppy emulator that uses a USB drive.It took 20 minutes to get all the cover bolts off, and the floppy out, then 5 seconds to plug it in. The emulator worked perfectly straight out of the box on our fanuc 160i-LB control.What a save. Ever seller says direct replacement, or 100% compatible and it’s never true. There has always been a catch, quirk, or hang up, until now. Shop Floor Automation totally nailed it.Having USB capability to load programs will help us out greatly.

Weve got this kit a while ago and it works very well.Our CNC Lathe from 1984 had still a tape reader and after installing the USB kit its so much easier to load a program to our machine.I can only recommend to get this kit if you have an older machine where you cant load a program so easily.

This is hands down one of the best pieces of equipment Ive purchased for my shop. The shop floor automatics USB connect is a phenomenal system. It allows you to run as big of a file as you want, regardless of the machines original memory. I figured Id add some photos of the system installed. If you need to run bigger files on your older CNC then I strongly recommend calling Greg at shop floor automatics.

I called Shop floor automation with a question about transferring programs to my haas super mini mill with a computer with out a serial port. They assured me the usb to serial adapter would be a perfect fit for my current set up. Got the product in a timely manner and it works EXACTLY how they said. They even made sure I had very detailed instructions to make sure everything went perfect. They also called a few weeks later to check in to make sure everything was up and running. I would recommend them to anyone and will purchase again from them if I need anything else.

Having the local support is a huge benefit. I was very satisfied with the quality of the product received. I went with the Fanuc serial cable with onboard power. I had an older HAAS VF-4 come into the plant that still had the 3.5 floppy. The majority of our workers had never even seen a floppy disk. I like to do a complete backup of all of our machines every 6 months, which is all done with a USB stick. I found this emulator and thought I would give it a try. The installation was extremely simple. I was shocked at how well the fitment was in the controller. I already have this machine backed up and the whole process took maybe 5 minutes. We installed our second SFA thumb drive reader on our other Haas machine this week. Our first SFA reader has given us no problems whatsoever so when the old disk drive on our other Haas was giving us problems we replaced it. No more need to worry about the disks becoming corrupted. I have installed a few USB readers from SFA. I have more than 20 years experience with fanuc controls on Amada equipment.I recommend buying the RS-232 cable with power. It is absolutely the easiest, best way to eliminate the floppy drive.Every time I have installed these units, it has been plug and play. Very little technical ability required.The last kit I bought, had absolutely everything needed to make the system work, even a 8GB USB.

I purchased a Floppy Drive Emulator for our early 2000s CNC folder to hopefully improve our storage reliability. We were having issues with floppy drives corrupting, random file saves not working and then later working, and seeing the decreasing supply of floppy drives on ebay. After reaching out to Shop Floor Automations, they quickly took care of us. After sending pictures of our existing floppy drive, they let us know which model emulator we needed. I ordered it, swapped it in to our machine, and it just worked. Nothing else needed. My machine thinks its still a floppy drive (so read/write is still slow), but I have yet to have any data failures or loss. Hallelujah!Shop Floor Automations has clearly developed a good product. Their service was also fast and professional. If you have any older machine that could use some upgrades, take a look at what this company has to offer. They might just help you revive your old machine.

Had a problem connecting our HAAS machines to our programming computer with a wired connection so I did some searching for a wireless alternative and I stumbled upon this company. I reached out for advice and they were very responsive and helpful and gave me some troubleshooting tips. The troubleshooting page on HAASs website wasnt even as detailed as these guys were. They definitely know their stuff and helped get our machines running on the same network as the computer I program from. Just purchased the hardware and software to load and save Mazatrol programs on 2 machines. I’ve had the mill 35 years VQC2050B with M2 controller and a Quick Turn 20HP with T+ controller. Both of these machines are very old yet this company (Shop Floor Automation ) knew EXACTLY what to do. They got me up and running in 30 minutes. Well worth the price I paid. I purchased a RS232 line and the USB to serial port connecter. The service was Awesome! They help with install and made sure I was up and running. I had a couple problems on my end with an editor and it did not matter at all. They even called back a couple other times to make sure all was still going good.Being an owner of a Machine shop time is money and you do not want to be down for something like trivial as communication problems. Shop Floor Automations has been nothing less than spectacular to work with. I had been struggling to connect a Emco320 CNC Lathe to our shop computer for weeks. The other companies I had reached out to were of no use and provided basic responses. I worked with a technician (Greg) who was able to diagnose our issue almost immediately and was able to provide us with a solution. He was incredibly good to work with, and was very responsive. My goal was to eliminate a diskette drive on a Pullman press brake. I could have taken a chance on any number of emulation USB options on Amazon. But I call Guy Barrow and asked bluntly, “what makes yours better than anything else out there that is a lot cheaper”. Mr. Barrow replied noting the amount of research and matching of criteria needed to match the ancient 1996 vintage Sony drive I was replacing. And sure, I could have bought off Amazon blindly and hoped for the best, but I was not willing to risk my shops reputation and down time to save a few bucks. The unit arrived excellently packed, ample documentation and timely. I actually called Mr. Barrow before I fired it up to cross my T’s and dot my I’s. Helpful and knowledgeable, this unit was plug and play for my controller. I brought a 1996 unit into this century. Thank you.

Using their LAN connect module on an Amada laser with a Fanuc control. Its a great unit that went in easily (installed myself) and works flawlessly. More than the product, the customer service is absolutely second to none. I got multiple follow up calls from Guy, verifying the device installed easily, was working correctly and that I didnt have any questions for him. Ive been slammed busy but Guy was persistent to call me once a week over about a 3 week period, simply to make sure things were going smoothly.Thanks Guy, and the rest of the SFA crew! 👍

“Recently, we needed to upgrade the floppy disk drive of our HAAS TM-1 mill since we had a HAAS engineer on-site to set up our machine. We immediately reached the Shop Floor Automations, Inc. by phone and an account manager kindly helped us until we received the HAAS floppy disk emulator in a few days. Then HAAS technician installed it and finally was able to load CNC software.As a customer, we were completely satisfied by their amazing and dedicated customer service that helped us to solve our problem just on-time.We recently purchased two used HAAS CNCs in February 2022. We immediately need to upgrade their old floppy with a USB emulator.We called Shop Floor Automations and order them two Floppy Disc USB Emulators.They immediately sent them from La Mesa, CA and next day we received USB emulators in Afton, VA. I could no longer use my network to send files to my Charmilles Wire Edm from my computer and needed a way to transfer programs some other way. Called Charmillles and they told me I could use a usb emulator they have for a price of $1500. So I shopped around the internet and came up with Shop Floor Automations. Spoke with Guy Barrows and he knew exactly what I needed to get up and running quickly and for a lower cost. His price was about 1/3 of the price Charmilles wanted and it was a direct plug and play. Got it in a few days and was up and running in about 30 minutes. I plan on converting my shop to a DNC network and will call on Guy with SFA without hesitation. You might think there is a cheaper work around, but when you factor in the amazing support they provide, plus the impeccable quality and functionality of their products, there is no alternative. My boss bought a FADAL even though I am a HAAS guy, but we bought the USB to CNC and these guys at shop floor got me running. Helped today months after buying their product.
