I had to move from Boston to Rochester, MN and didnt have a lot of stuff to move and wouldnt have bothered with the profane price estimates I was getting from MayFlower etc. ShipSmart gave me what I needed: an affordable alternative for someone who can wait a bit for a limited number of items to be transported. They were shockingly fast about it, but the shipment speed can vary a lot.The crew that came by to pack up my stuff and load it were hard-working, professional, and fast. I boxed up or otherwise wrapped most of my stuff but I worried that I hadnt been complete enough, but that didnt seem to concern them. They just got the job done. They were also highly punctual.The wrapping and packing was no joke either. If anything they over did it. The truck driver didnt understand what the wooden pole with a rubberized end was doing in one of my two wrapped pellet-piles but I quickly found out you need it to disassemble their wrap and pack job. Be forewarned it costs extra to have them bring your things in to your new place. I did it myself and saved a bunch of money.Cant recommend them enough, but you will have to wait a bit for your things to arrive. Probably longer than I did.

I heard about ShipSmart from another shipper in LA, and they did a great job with my small but valuable shipment. They picked up delicate objects at a private home in LA, packed them expertly, and safely got them to me in Montana in about a week - well ahead of the 4-week estimate. My favorite thing about ShipSmart: I can pick up the phone and talk directly to the folks who run the show. Great service, no complaints!

Tried to get them to ship two chairs from Roseville Ca to Iowa and have paid and everything. This company is trash. Do not select this company as they don’t like business for some reason. They don’t return phone calls to schedule the pickup. Straight garbage

I shipped two pallets of household goods from Vancouver BC to Los Angeles CA. ShipSmarts strategy of palletizing goods allowed them to offer a price half that of standard movers, who have a household minimum.My shipment arrived in excellent condition, but was shipped on August 13 and arrived October 7, quite a bit longer than the 4-6 weeks I was initially quoted. Having said that, I recommend ShipSmart and I will use them for my next shipment.My goods were picked up on time at my Vancouver apartment.Everything went well until August 26, when I started to receive vague messages saying I needed to pay. No amount to pay or where to pay. Just pay. Details about the job were incorrect. Frankly, it looked like a phishing attack. This vagueness continued for about two weeks. If not for this, my shipment would have been on time.The shipment arrived superbly packed, with everything in excellent condition.

Edited to add: Both my dresser and desk arrived heavily damaged. The top of my dresser had nearly been ripped off and hangs on by a few nails and my desk drawers are skewed and falling off as well. Still, no accommodations by shipsmart.It would have been cheaper and quicker to order and have all new furniture delivered to my new apartment. I had a small move picked up from CT going to D.C., and was told by phone it would take 2-3 weeks. During that time, I called incessantly because no phone operator could reach the mysterious warehouse where my furniture was stored. It took 4 weeks to hear anything, when I had to pay nearly $1000 more than the quote in order to have my items finally shipped. I was given a 10% off code from a larger moving company that recommended Shipsmart to me, but that only applies to the shipping cost, not the total weight, so I only saved about $100. I have been in my apartment for 3 weeks without furniture, still calling to find out which warehouse in the country my things are. I finally heard from a moving company in the DC area that has my items and set up a delivery date for their earliest time of another 2 weeks. In total, I will be without my furniture for 7 weeks with no communication between me and Shipsmart, nor seemingly between Shipsmart and the moving companies it hires. Shipsmart is a pointless company that only moves your items around between reputable moving companies under the guise that it saves you time and money. Cut out the middle man next time and either contact a moving company, not a packing and shipping company like Shipsmart, or rent a UHaul or Pod yourself.

We had family inheritance items in Colorado to ship to the East Coast. Ship Smart was recommended by a moving company because the shipment was small. From my first phone call for information to a follow-up survey, I was very happy with the service I received from Ship Smart. Conversations were friendly and professional. Pick up was on schedule and the man, very polite. When the highly unusual happened and the warehouse holding the shipment went up in flames, I was contacted by Joslin who made herself available throughout the difficult waiting period. Amazingly, our things were untouched and have safely arrived! I would recommend Ship Smart without reservation.

I had a great experience with Ship Smart during my recent small move. I was very nervous about how my belongings would be handled and if they would be delivered on time. Ship Smart surpassed all my expectations! The packers and movers arrived on time and handled my furniture and boxes with care. I was always able to reach a customer service representative with questions and felt very at ease during the entire moving process. I had a great experience with Ship Smart. I moved from Ohio to Oregon and only had a couple hundred pounds worth of stuff (no furniture) to move. They quoted me a very reasonable price, and was charged more or less that exact amount. My stuff arrived within 4 weeks, as I was told it would and everything was packed extremely well. Nothing was broken or damaged. I would definitely recommend this company, and might use them again in the future.

Ship Smart is a great, affordable moving service. The staff was very communicative, and always let me know what stage we were at in the shipping process. All of my (very fragile!) items arrived intact and on time, for about half of what I would have paid for conventional movers. I would highly recommend Ship Smart for anyone looking to move long-distance with a studio to bedroom-sized amount of stuff.

I was recently out on the East Coast and had to make a quick decision on some family heirlooms. Our mover is Salt Lake City recommended Ship Smart. I called and on very short notice they arranged pickup exactly when I needed. Customer service was very helpful and the packing was very professional. They consolidated a large chair, lamps, pictures, and other fragile items into one shipping crate. Delivery was in exactly the time they quoted and delivery was very flexible. Everything arrived in perfect condition. I was very happy with the entire experience.

I used Ship Smart for a cross country move and everything went smoothly from start to finish. They were friendly and communicative the whole time and each of their moving partners in the origin and destination cities were also very friendly and communicative. The movers arrived on time loaded up in 10 minutes. They had my stuff prepared to ship to my destination in just 2-3 days (they originally told me 2-3 weeks!). They stored my belongings for a very low price while they were waiting for me to secure a destination address and then timed the shipping of my pallets to arrive on the exact day that I moved in to my new home. The pallets were delivered to my back door and everything was incredibly well packed and protected. I shipped lots of fragile, breakable items and nothing was broken, no boxes were crushed, every box that I had marked fragile or with arrows indicating the direction it needed to be stored were packed correctly. Im so thankful that I found Ship Smart!

The entire team at Ship Smart are consummate professionals who really understand the moving business and provide stellar customer service. We had an international move from Vancouver to Los Angeles, which can be daunting and stressful. We decided to work with Ship Smart because they were the most professional explaining the process, were able to provide expert advice on the logistics, and had competitive pricing. We were not disappointed. They were very clear about the paperwork we needed to fill out, handheld us through the process, were on top of scheduling and showed up on time both for pickup and delivery. Best of all, the entire staff—from the back office folks to the guys on the trucks—were extraordinarily organized, polite and knowledgable. Our belongings arrived on time and in perfect shape. An excellent alternative if you have a load too large to move yourself but too small to qualify for a regular moving company. I had 10 boxes of valuable antiques, a marble top table and a grandfather clock that needed to be moved from Florida to Arizona. North American Van Lines turned me on to Ship Smart. Their local agent was prompt and courteous and the pick-up went smoothly. They crated the grandfather clock and table very well. They scheduled a delivery concurrent with my needs and the delivery was made with no damage or breakage. I could not have been more pleased with the service provided by Ship Smart.

Ship Smart provided shipping services from 1,000 miles away. A family heirloom table was given to us after the passing of a great uncle. The table and chairs are over 150 years old, so we wanted to make sure no damage occurred during shipping.We are located in Texas and the table was in rural Wisconsin. The time frame given was accurate; however, I can only give 4 out of 5 stars because the communication could have been better throughout. While it is normal to have a 3 - 4 week lead time, as a consumer I would have preferred updates as the pick-up and shipping progressed. As promised, we were called prior to delivery to set up a time. The driver arrived within the time frame promised.I couldnt believe the packing! An entire wooden crate was built around the table and chairs. The Wisconsin relatives also included some art and small pieces of china, but there wasnt any damage at all. The care and attention paid to our priceless items cannot be emphasized enough.I would recommend Ship Smart to friends and family.

Ive used Ship Smart for 2 moves and will be using them in the future for any of my large shipping needs. My moves were for a 1 bedroom apartment between the Pacific NW and Colorado.Pickup was easy, no stress and the movers were professional and a pleasure to work with.Ive used both in-house delivery and pallet delivery. I recommend spending the additional fee for in-house if you have multiple pallets or you will need to dispose of the packing materials (styrofoam and cardboard). But the bonus is you get a glimpse of how well they pack your stuff!

The entire experience surprised my skeptical self! The office staff was very helpful in explaining the entire process. The pick up truck came late, but kept me apprised via cell phone on their progress to my location. The delivery guy was terrific and all my belongings arrived in perfect condition. I was amazed how securely my antique bench had been packed. I had a short window when I wanted the items delivered and although they dont guarantee a delivery date, they got the shipping done well within the desired time. Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised how easy the whole thing was!

I recently used Shipsmart for nine huge paintings I had to ship across country from NYC to Austin TX. You cant beat this service. I really did not have time to build a crate this large. They really made it easy. They picked the work up at my studio, packed it safely in cardboard to get it to the crating service. Crated it up beautifully. This was a large 350+ lbs grate! The work was shipped safely across the country in a really good time. They also provided insurance on art work, which a lot of shippers are reluctant to do. Service was personal and friendly. I talked to people on the phone instead of emails.

A truly awful experience. Not only did our final bill for our shipment exceed $1500+ more than the estimate they quoted us with dimensions and weight given, but to top it off the carrier they assigned to our job may have literally been brain dead. We shipped ~$130,000 worth of networking equipment and computer accessories and the carrier that fullfilled our order used less than $10 worth of bubblewrap on the entire shipment.When I spent 3 weeks planning this shipment and verifying that the best care possible will be taken with our expensive inventory, I never expected to see the state at which the items arrived. I understand that the carrier is a 3rd party, but we payed Ship Smart to provide us with a reputable carrier and they failed miserably.Word of advice. If you have items that you value and need to ship them. Go straight to a carrier or another service. This middle man shop doesnt care about you or your materials and the way that all of this was handled screams unprofessional.

Our parents had a precious grandfather clock, handmade in Canada, and recently became part of an inheritance for our son in Ohio. ShipSmart made this all happen so easily with the upfront planning to ship across the border, reasonable costs, and the packaging and care were amazing. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with this company. They use the bait and switch routine, with a side of poor customer service.Initially, I was given a quote of $1700, which was then re-done to over $1300. They price your shipment based on the weight, but there’s no way to truly know how much your shipment weighs - you just have to trust their calculations, which were incorrect as my final price was over $2000 (the same price as what other accredited moving companies would’ve charged me). They only give you a quote and then come to pick up your things. They were readily available and the movers who did come to gather my things were wonderful, but everything went downhill from there.I was told it would take around three weeks to get my things from California to North Carolina. Innocently, I believed them and only packed work clothes for the extra week. But once my belongings were with them, the ‘estimated’ delivery (still no date) suddenly went up to four weeks, then five, then six. In the end it took over SIX WEEKS for my things to arrive, DOUBLE THE TIME they said. The most frustrating thing was they were never able to give me an arrival date or even an update. I had to initiate communication on where my things were and when they were expected to arrive. When I would call, their customer service team would immediately jump into defense mode, another red flag to show this type of situation was normal to them. Customer service was terrible. There was no apologies, or ‘I understand your frustration,’ they simply said this is a busy time of the year (again - would have been nice to know ahead of time) and that they couldn’t give me a set date but it would probably take another week.It felt like they hijacked my stuff and there was nothing I could do about it.During my conversations with various members of their staff, there was never once an apology. When I asked what I could do to get my belongings sooner, they said they have an expedited service and it would cost 40% additional cost. So, conveniently, I could have my things in the three weeks they initially promised but would have to pay around a grand more. They also said I did not check some sort of “guaranteed” box when I signed up online for them to move my stuff. This mysterious box would guarantee the three weeks they promised. This was never made clear to me when speaking to them as I signed up and I never saw the guarantee check box. This felt like a sham and a way for them to turn around the blame on me for the amount of time it was taking them.After weeks of waiting, my things were finally ready to ship and I had to pay for my shipment. Again, the price was way over their ‘estimate’ and I had to pay an extra $350 for them to move my things into my home, rather than just drop it curbside. WARNING: THEY WILL ONLY MOVE THINGS INTO YOUR HOME IF YOU HAVE AN ELEVATOR -- even if you paid the extra $350. This was not made clear to me, luckily I did have an elevator. At this point, I’m already in North Carolina and I’m so sick of wearing the same clothes I will just about do anything to get my stuff.When my belongings did arrive there was minor damage to my bed frame and dresser. The guy that moved in my stuff listed the things that had damage and took pictures and told me ShipSmart would be in contact to get it fixed. It’s been over a month since they dropped off my things, haven’t heard a word from ShipSmart on fixing the damage or reimbursing me for the damage.I’m aware that this review was ridiculous long. But the sad fact is, it took this much space to cover this company’s amount of screw ups. I would advise those considering ShipSmart to avoid the extra burden and stress this company provides you with during the already stressful moving process.

I got ship smart referral through corporate reference. Filled up all their documents including the payment details and scanned the same to their email id. Initial estimate they provided was ok to me, but once they loaded and took them to their warehouse, they did a final weightage after doing all the packing and came out with a new 1.5 times higher than the quoted price. I spoke to the customer service rep saying the cost of my things are no worth paying this amount and he came out with a negotiated price, which I was ok to pay as I was already out of that State where i shipped my things.Packing was very good with wooden crate covered, but could notice a small damage to my leather sofa which they said I can use the insurance claim, but couldnt do that as I do not had time to look for furniture repair shops and claim the same since I wanted to settle down in my new place.Everything went well except for few hickups during the delivery through the local career at my new State. I got a $50 refund for the same.Customer service was really good and immediately responded to all my calls and questions.I would first confirm the final pricing and any other charges that the consumer should be aware and proceed with shipping. If you are good with the price, then I would go for this career.

Worst…shipping company…ever!!! I drop my items on the 2nd of October and it took 4 weeks to get my items…4 WEEKS!!! I was hoping that they would process it in 2 in a half weeks but seems to me that they enjoy taking their sweet time, especially since my starting date in my new job was delayed numerous times, in which I needed my tools that I shipped with them. Screw shipsmart…this the last time I use them to move my items. LAST TIME!!!!!!

Small shipment, regular van lines gave me two to four week window plus standard fees plus packing fees. ShipSmart picked up my self-packed clothes and household goods, and they packed my two bicycles in separate custom cartons. Actual weight was close to their estimate based on my input, and fee was reasonable and much cheaper and safer than my renting a U-Haul and dealing with a trailer. From NoCal to SoCal took a week, got a call for next day delivery between 10-2 PM; driver called at 11:30 am, said hed be there in an hour. I went outside after 50 minutes and he was turning the corner. Delivered right to my back door as promised. All goods shrink-wrapped on two pallets. I unloaded everything off the pallets and he took them away. Easy and on time and nothing broken or missing. Cant get any better than that. I intend to use them for my return trip.

We used these folks for a move from Massachusetts to Nebraska. First and foremost, I was really impressed with how much they were willing to help us out. We had a few items that got damaged, but it wasnt their fault, per se. It was the third party movers that did that. Despite this, Joslin was really helpful in getting this resolved. She made sure the insurance covered stuff and was super friendly and patient with us. We probably sent her dozens of emails and messages, and she was always quick to respond. So, I give kudos to Joslin and ShipSmart for making good on the issues that happened. Also, everything else went fine without a hitch.I would certainly use ShipSmart again in the future.

I would NEVER use this company again. They picked up a Grandfather Clock my dying Grandmother wanted me to have, 5 1/2 weeks ago. I still do not have it!! I was promised a 3 week turnaround and I have heard nothing from them. Every time I call someone promises to call me back and they never do. When I talk to someone they tell me they are behind, it is busy. The next person told me they are having trouble getting a truck filled to bring it. At this point I am scared that my family heirloom is lost or stolen by this company. They do not communicate at all, between departments or with customers. I strongly urge you to find another provider if you value your items.

Extremely pleased!It all started with a phone call and they made the moving be effortless. At first, since I had never heard of them I thought it was a scam. The people that came in to pick up my stuff almost asked me for a tip (third party company). And he was treating his co worker like crap. Anyway, I made the move from SLC to Florida and once I gave them an address, it only took days to get here! I did not buy protection or insurance so I was freaking out about my stuff. When it actually arrived, they came in pallets. But you can tell only a professional could have packed so many things. It was just perfect after perfection. It is all very secretly packaged. Even the driver (third party) from SAIA, Asier me what I has inside. I did not buy fo extra men to unpack but would I had done that... The pallets were not hard to pull apart. It tells you to remove the screws. Nothing broke. Nothing. Not even a scratch. I am really blown away. Everything was custom packed.
