This place is a beautiful gem! If you love plants and flowers a place to check out. There is a cute store with cute things. Cafe to have lunch (i did not eat here). While I was there they were setting up for a wedding and was a gorgeous place to host. I went on a Saturday at about 2pm and it was plenty of time to see all.

Beautiful place. Only $5 to enter for non members and a great place to chill, take pictures, and enjoy the garden. Small gift shop with some home decor but very few plants to buy. They did have have healthy string of pearls that I was tempted to buy, but Id rather have picked up a begonia! Cute Cafe but didnt try them. Relaxing afternoon, will be back.

Absolutely gorgeous mid sized gardens with an adjacent library. We parked for free in a lot to the side of the gardens. We were there on a Sunday and it was pretty packed. Theres a restaurant which looked like a great place for a date. The gardens include all kinds of flowering plants as well as succulents. It doesnt take long to see the whole thing but you leave very satisfied.

Charming garden situated off of Coast Highway and Dahlia in the City of Newport Beach. Peaceful and relaxing while taking in the beautiful colors of the flowers and plants making you feel that youre in a neighbors coastal cottage backyard. Get there within 30 minutes after they open to park across the street in their dedicated parking lot. Reservations are absolutely recommended for their restaurant especially on weekends because it doesnt matter if you try to wait for a table priority goes to those with a reservation. Also, dont forget to check out their gift shop.

Beautiful and peaceful. Took my 4 year old here and we had so much fun exploring. They had a scavenger hunt that we did and got some seeds as a prize. Free parking across the street designated for the garden but on the weekends it can be full so theres a paid parking lot next to it and also some street parking around the neighborhoods if you can find a spot

If youre looking for something peaceful to do in the area and a place for a cute date/friend hangout (1-1)/pictures, stop by this place before the beach. Its $5 for non-members, which is not bad at all. Allocate maybe 1-3 hours, depending on how many pictures you take.Theres a greenhouse area with a turtle and some koi fish- pretty cool. Kept up very wellWent during a weekday around 3pm, so not busy. I imagine weekends are much busier

There is so much variety and opportunity for such an intimate garden space. We especially love the tropical plant greenhouse, inside there are large rattan chairs for posed moments and a small winding river that creates a gorgeous layering effect in our images for a really dynamic photo. The blooms chosen are especially vibrant and colorful, perfect for that pop of Spring vibe. Best for smaller wedding parties, like 4 on each side of the wedding party.Photography by KLV Photography

Beautiful garden! So much colors and flowers! This place is feeling like family country cottage from the childhood, so lovely and treated by caring hand! So cute and authentic, all the time visiting you will feel like you are a very welcomed guest in auntie’s house! A lot of butterfly! They have orchids, gigantic succulent, flycatcher, dining table better to reserve in advance. Free parking (pretty dissent size) and I can not believe it exists in THIS area! Will come back and already recommended my friends!

A Hidden gem in Corona Del Mar! We used my LA arboretum pass, so it is free for 4 of us, but admission is only $5 per, so not a big deal if you need to pay.It is a medium size beautiful and gorgeous garden with tons of plants ranging from succulents/cactus, to tropical orchids and begonias. There are also greenhouse, a small pond with koi, and numerous open spaces for a perfect small wedding or privacy event. There appeared to be some volunteers or people passionate about plants there that would share their knowledge with you if you show interest in plants. The garden is also right next to a very nice neighborhood and you can walk to the ocean in 20 mins.

Such a wonderful experience and absolutely worth the $5 entrance fee. The variety of plants makes each corner worth taking time to view. There are many spots you could sit and enjoy. Youre allowed to touch the herbs in the herb garden to get a good sniff - worth it! Glad places like this continue to exist.

I photographed Rebecca & Logans wedding at Sherman Library & Gardens last year. It was my first time there and I was not only surprised at how big it was but also very happy at all the beautiful locations to capture amazing photos there. I highly recommend this venue if youre looking for a beautiful garden wedding.

We visited in december 2023 and it was during the day which was very nice and we were lucky to have picked a great afternoon to visit because the sun was out but it wasnt too hot out. they had themed areas for the holidays and it made me wonder if they light up at night which i assume they do. we were already making up plans to visit again next year because although it is on the smaller side its very tidy and has got a lot packed in to look at and enjoy when youre walking around. there is a parking lot on site which i almost missed and parked on the street but luckily i had checked first. my highlight was going inside the green house building and seeing the turtles swim around the small pond as well as those plants which have to be in a warmer temperature.

Our group visited during the end of October and loved our experience. The garden is smaller but is so very beautiful. There is a special moment everywhere. I cant describe how much I loved walking around. $5 entrance fee and free parking in the back. No issue whatsoever during the weekday. 100% recommend.

There were parking spots open in their private parking lot prior to 11am but became very busy later, there is also free 2hr street parking.the surrounding PCH area is beautiful as well as the gardens ($5 admission fee required) and there was a fun little scavenger hunt to do as we waited for our lunch reservations.they host classes and also have a cute shop in the gardens too.

Wow! I cant believe that we just discovered this oasis from the business of Orange County. It is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places we have found. There are plenty of places to sit and paths to stroll. The design is excellent and the diversity of plants rivals the best of gardens anywhere in California. I encourage you to visit and enjoy your time here!PS. They accept reciprocal garden memberships so the cost is free if you belong to another one.

Small but beautiful place. The plants are so lively. The staff is very nice. The entrance fee is $5. The parking lot can be full, but a good amount of space is available in the neighborhood. Pond with the turtles and koi fish was pleasant to look.

One of the prettiest gardens I’ve been too! A very relaxing and beautiful place to walk through. Lots of different paths you can take than usually lead to the greenhouse. If you have glasses be prepared for them to fog up inside! The greenhouse is perfectly humidified for the plants to thrive! There is also a little koi pong inside. There is a lil gift shop and lots of seating area! Definitely recommend visiting

Truly beautiful garden. I was absolutely captivated by the artistry and creativity throughout. The staff were all very kind. They were clearly very attentive and caring for their garden. Gorgeous botanical gardens with a large variety of tropical plants, ferns, orchids and fuchsia, as well as cactus and succulents. The docents lead very informative tours, well worth doing. Admission is $5 and parking is free in their parking lot, although their parking lot does fill up on weekends by about 11 am, so get there by 10:30 am on weekends to get a spot, otherwise you will be hunting for 2-hour parking spots on the street.

We found a beautiful garden in bloom 🌹🌻🌼🌷🌺with many bees and hummingbirds to enjoy. Traveling with a kid I found this to be inviting as they immediately included a scavenger hunt for him to keep entertained along with some local flower seeds which will educate him and help him gain an appreciation for some of the flowers seen in the garden.I was pleasantly surprised to see so much diverse vegetation along with some that I know. Some herbs and spices along with lettuce added a lovely accent to edges of designs in the landscaping. 4 large pond/ fountains can be found in the garden with one containing exceptionally large koi fish in the indoor section which were worth the visit. (Goodness the room was humid though.)This is a perfect spot for an afternoon brunch or lunch date in the restaurants on-site or taking pictures. (Professional photographers would arrange their visit in advance.)💰$5 per person entry fee(Not for pets)Interactive cell phone tour availableParking is free nearby in the reserved lot or on the street. A parking lot by the city is close but charges.

Went there yesterday, plenty of free parking space in front of the entrance. The entrance is on the side of the street not the Main Street. Purchased the tickets online ($5 per person) and the front desk lady was nice and attentive to give the info and guide for the gardens.The garden was small but very pretty! The library was good and I loved the vibe in there. The librarian was super nice and welcoming. Although the garden and library was small, but we spend 2 hours in there anyway to enjoy the afternoon under the shade in the garden. Good place to chill with family and friends.

Absolutely gorgeous. We went during the carnivorous plant exhibit and it was awesome! As a plant lover, the variety is just incredible. It is also just a fun place with a moss covered piano, a couch made of moss, and more. Good for an hour or two of fun with family or a date. Excellent price for admission as well.

I came to Sherman Library & Gardens as a dj for a wedding. Ive never been to this location before, but its beautiful. When I arrived to set-up, it was open to the public and it was pretty packed. They did close it down for the wedding later. There is a lot to see and I think its a nice date idea.For events like weddings, its a little hard loading in, but if you park on Dahlia, thats going to be your best path.

Nice small garden which is nice to stroll around. Take a few hours away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Beautiful flowers and even a small carnivorous plant section. Koi pond sits amongst trees dripping with Spanish moss in a greenhouse at the center of the overall garden. Turtles were playing on a rock in the pond.

It is sad to think how many times I drove by here and did not realize what treasures were hiding behind the walls.Hanging gardens bright with fuchsias, koi ponds hidden in a tropical greenhouse, beautiful, ever changing sculptures adorning the gardens, immense and lush ferns and Dr. Seuss kaleidoscope garden of succulents. Butterflies, bees and hummingbirds quite literally keep this place humming with activity.It is always a delight to find one of the tucked away benches to sit and relax while soaking in all of the colors and sounds.A perfect day trip with the family or “the girls” is made complete with a lunch or coffee and dessert at 608 Dahlia. 🌺

The gardens are beautiful regardless of season visited. There are two indoor live plant exhibits and thousands of outdoor plants in garden beds around the sprawling property, a couple of water features and rotating themes. Allow time of an hour or more if you are a gardening and flower enthusiast. Also they have outdoor classes and a restaurant in the garden.

What a gem!!! So so happy I discovered this garden to take my parents to. This place is tucked into an unassuming cute block in CDM with a parking lot in the back of 2 hr street parking. The lady in the front was wonderfully helpful and super nice. I’m so happy I signed up for the annual $60membership (which includes admission to gardens nationwide), otherwise it’s $5 entry fee. It was lovely to visit Sherman garden in the fall (library is only open on weekdays). 💕

It’s a cute small botanical garden. My favorite were the turtles and the area that had plants we could touch and smell. It’s a great place for a cute date or to take your mom to 😂 I would buy a plant here too! The best part is the garden is near other areas that sell second hand luxury goods and a beach. So you can make a small day out of it.

First time here. Pros. Gardens are beautiful. Parking is ample. Cons. The restaurant. Was invited to a bridal shower. The shower was from 11-2. Showed up at 11. Nothing was set up. It took them almost an hour to seat us even though they had made a reservation a month or so in advance. Then after finally being seated we were short menus so had to share them. They took our orders at different times. Delivered food at different times. So half of us were eating while the other half was watching the rest eat. It was truly appalling. This level of disorganization and lack of time coordination was not reflective of the high standards they purport to uphold. Highly disappointed.

A must visit when in Del Coronado. We stopped by this place when we went to visit a friend in NewPort Beach.What a delightful cute oasis to take a rest from the bustling surrounding. Sherman library and Garden should be on your itinerary when you visit Orange County.The gardens include patios and conservatories, seasonal flower beds, and fountains. Collections range from desert plants to tropical vegetation.Although we didn’t know the names of most of the plants, we totally enjoyed the experience by looking at the pretty flowers and plants. If you like the plants, you can buy the same types of plants from the shop and take them home.The Sherman Library and Garden also give seminars on plants and insects. It would be a good place to take kids to learn more about nature.The Garden has a big parking lot in front of the entrance with more parkings across the street.

Lovely gardens to visit, exceeding expectations. Entry is only $5 and you dont need to buy tickets online, theres a little booth with a nice lady, and you also get a map. The place is easy to navigate and obviously very beautiful. Theres a restaurant there, multiple bathrooms and a cute gift shop. Theres 2 hr street parking as well as parking behind the building.

Such a beautiful garden! I swooned for the gorgeous staghorn ferns, and the orchids.. omg the orchids!! If you are a plant lover and are able to make it out this way, I encourage you coming to bask in the beauty!! The cacti area was phenomenal!! Fantastic Library and Garden to visit. Although not nearly as expansive as Huntington Library and Gardens north Pasadena, it has a lot of charm and neat installations. One of my favorite things are monthly specialty plant shows, there was a predatory plant a month or so ago with judged exhibition and plants for sale by many of the exhibitors. There was lectures by experts on the care and maintenance of the specialty plants. The entry fee is 5 dollars and there is small adjacent free parking lot. There is a lot parking on the side streets.

I drove down from LA specifically for these gardens and was very happy I did so. I had been before but thatvwas many years ago so I didn’t quite remember it nearly as well as I wanted to. It’s fairly small, about the size of a neighborhood block, but it is really beautiful and something worth seeing. It’s very well organized and well-kept and you really get to see a big diversity of plants. Parking is easy and provided on site, but it’s not hard to find street parking as well. The only downside is you have to compete with the crowds sometimes for the picture you want as it can get pretty crowded on certain days. Otherwise parking is easy and the price is fair so I highly recommend for everyone. This botanical garden also does not have any hills so it would be easier for people with mobility issues to see versus some of the other larger ones.

A place that will surely make your jaw drop. The variety of plant species here is incredible, each one youll see better than the last. The whole vibe of the place is enough to make a grown man cry, and just when you think its over, you are hit with the beautiful architecture, and then BOOM a restaurant, BOOM a statue of a gnome playing the guitar. Honestly a great place to go to, if youre by the area, then visit. The price to get in is $15 from what i remember, but well worth it.

Love this garden! Ive lived in so cal for 30 years and this was my first time visiting this little gem. Perfect for relaxing your mind and body in this stressful life. This garden is a gem. It is lush and full of many different plants and most are well labeled. The fountains, plants, koi pond all make you want to stay and relax all day.They have whimsically created “rooms” recently with plants. The long dining room table is set with garden utensils and plants for chairs. The bathroom has a bathtub fountain, etc. In addition to the gorgeous gardens the library is interesting if you like history and the house has a fascinating history of Sherman and Hollywoodland.

I. love. this. place. I’d bring sunglasses and/or a hat since it’s outside and can get hot in the summer. There is a $5 fee for adults but it’s worth it as it goes towards the maintenance od the garden. There also is free parking right before the entrance. It’s the perfect spot to scout for plants to add to your garden, to relax, to take the most perfect instagram photos, and to just walk around with your family. Super cool. My Instagram feed is well fed.

An absolutely beautiful garden with surprises around every corner. I visited this garden with my partner and we had a fantastic time walking around and exploring the scenes created within the garden. The area was alive with butterflies and bees, an oasis in the center of a densely populated street. There were a ton of places to take really cool pictures, like the moss covered piano or the succulent arm chair.There was a performance by Backhausdance that elevated the entire experience beyond any expectations. The dancers performed vignettes throughout the garden, interacting with the visitors and the environment in a way that breathed even more life into each part of the garden.

Beautifully laid out and designed, the areas flow easily and have some hidden design elements like animal figures created out of natural materials and a moss covered working piano.Even the grandkids liked the garden. Tranquil place nestled next to the Pacific Coast Highway where you can take in the sights and smells of a huge variety of plants in a small area, most of which are able to flourish outside and stay in bloom even during the winter thanks to the temperate climate of the Beach Cities. We particularly enjoyed the artistic succulent garden and the wish tree, where you can hang a note with your hopes for the upcoming year for others to read (this is likely a seasonal Christmas/New Years activity only). The founder of the garden, Arnold D. Haskell, named it after his mentor Moses Sherman who was a pioneer of railroad, real estate and water development projects in Arizona and Los Angeles. If you want to visit the library and learn more about pacific southwest history, make sure you come before 4pm. Theres a restaurant open for lunch between 11-2pm and the gardens themselves can be wandered until 5pm.

In town for a Nieces wedding and had a Saturday morning free. The Library is closed weekends, but the garden was open and was a beautiful way to spend two hours. The range of plants and the quality of the specimens and their presentation was extraordinary. The $5 entrance fee was a welcome change from the usual high prices charged by non-profit institutions these days. The restaurant looked wonderful, but we didnt have reservations, and there was over an hour wait. I should say that though Id love to go to the restaurant next time, it did look quite expensive, but of very high quality.

I went to the Sherman Gardens Nights of 100 Lights. This garden is amazingly beautiful, even without the lights. This year the theme was ‘Blue Christmas’ with Elvis. So…I could have done without the terrible Elvis impersonator, but the rest was breathtaking. I think this was the most beautiful Christmas display I have seen all season. First you enter an eerily moonlit garden with a Moon Goddess awaiting you in a fountain pool. Then you meander a lollipop lit path to Gingerbread Land. A cute gingerbread house surrounded by a sea of glowing candy awaits your exploration. Then you enter the glistening light tunnel for a few selfies. At the end are glass doors that lead you into the greenhouse to the disco inFERNo. Dance among the towering palms in the mist and fog, lit only by the disco lights. Then its on to snacks! Free coffee, hot chocolate with all the fixins, and make your own s’mores station. There is also alcoholic beverages and other food for purchase. Enjoy your food by the glowing palms and color changing fountain. After snacks you walk through the Christmas cactus garden. It is my favorite. Simple but elegant. On the way to Santa’s Workshop, don’t forget to say ‘Hi’ to the family of trolls. Have another beverage before you hit the road and enjoy this lovely courtyard. Then head into the gift shop for some cute seasonal gifts!

Eating at their outdoor 608 Dahlia restaurant is a real treat. The food looks more like a beautiful floral arrangement and too pretty to eat. But you do and its incredible. Beautiful. As of July 2021, theres an amazing (temporary) installation of indoor living spaces situated outside in the gardens, some built with plants, some used to house and grow plants. The working bathroom sink and mirror is a highlight, as is the toilet fountain. The only dings here are the plethora of wanna-be Instagram influencers endlessly selfie-ing themselves, and the fact that nobody bothers with social distancing anymore. I was there for a memorial service celebrating the life of of amazing 💙 & accomplished woman.The catering services were excellent and the food courses memorable.Everything, including the weather was beautiful. A perfect day and a perfect commemoration.

A gem. Beautiful gardens, so many varieties I have never seen or heard of before. Many relaxing fountains. Make sure you see the turtles and koi. There also seems to be a resident cat who is very friendly.We had lunch at the restaurant. A bit pricey, but very tasty and great service.All the staff was very helpful.

I took my family here to show them some flowers and explore the a little bit while we were down in the area. Everything was great EXCEPT for the STAFF.Its been a while since Ive met people as rude as the ladies that work here. The lady at the front desk was awful. She had a rude an demeaning tone. she was short with customers and demanded exact change. We took a few photos of flowers while we were there and then other ladies started following us around the gardens and staring daggers at us and other people. It was super weird. I grabbed my family and left early. It was too uncomfortable and weird. The only nice person there was a groundskeeper that said HI.You couldnt pay me $500 to go back to this awfully managed garden.If you go anyway, I hope you have a better time than us.

The garden is not big but well worth for an afternoon stay in any season, bcause you find yourself in peace and relaxation, the garden so quiet and colorful. Everything of the garden are artistically arranged and landscaped. Another highlight is the 4-course brunch, which is served right beside the garden courtyard, in a slow French rhythm of two and a half hours. The tea-time garden is also a lovely piece of cake, I could even hear the honey bees singing when I was laying myself back in the comfortable outdoor coach. Wish they open for longer hours in the late afternoon, it must be beautiful to see sunset flashing across the bush and roses.

Any plant lover will love this place for its variety & multitude of flowers, plants, trees, hanging baskets. Climbing plants, wall hugging flowers. Quaint walkways & ambient setting.Its a secret garden in the middle of all the hustle & bustle of this busy area.Its blooming lovely!!ENTRANCE is FREE;On the FIRST MONDAY of the monthand MEMORIAL DAY.There is a large car park behind the Sherman Gardens where you can park & make your entrance.

I went to Sherman Library & Gardens for a wedding. It is not a large place, but the gardens are beautiful and well maintained, and it was a wonderful venue for the wedding. The ceremony took place on a stone patio right outside the main building. There was ample space for the reception right on the grounds, which was partially held in a banquet hall and partially outside in a grassy area surrounded by palm trees and other tropical plants. If I lived in the area, Im sure I would visit it often and also enjoy the library and cafe.

Highly interesting library and nicely kept gardens with a diversity of plants. Classy restaurant. Limited opening times. For comparison: Sherman is not as large as Filoli in Northern California but it is certainly not worse.

I loved this place. So beautiful and peaceful. Its been years since my last visit. I will plan to be back sooner next time. I wish they had signs identifying the plants. There is apparently a way to access info on your phone. But I dont want to be listening to my phone in this lovely garden. Time to disconnect.

Okay, traffic on Pacific Coast Highway through Corona del Mar is terrible. But if youre headed to the beach at CDM, or to Inspiration Point, this is a worthwhile pause. There is plenty of parking behind the place and across Dahlia. They have an incredible variety of plants in nice groupings for the amount of space. You can easily see the whole gardens area in an hour. The selection varies by the season, of course, but I think that they have a good plan to rotate things throughout the year. A highlight for children might be the Sensory Garden, where youre encouraged to feel and smell the plants. In a different section, I was impressed with the orchid that smelled like chocolate! This is my favorite place for fuchsias, and they have a lot of them in more varieties than anywhere else that Ive seen. Also a great place to grab coffee or lunch with a friend in a uniquely beautiful setting.

This is such a lovely treasure of Corona de Mar. The gardens are lovely to walk through; very peaceful and quite large for being in the middle of town. They have a variety of events focused on plants and also social gatherings. They have a restaurant which is lovely for lunch and a weekend creperie. There is a small entrance fee, and donations are accepted, so consider emptying some of your wallet to keep this treasure in town!

I planned on a day enjoying the garden and some food. Admission is $5 but parking is free (be sure to park in the free lots provided or the 1 hour limit is strictly enforced). There arent signs so look for the gift shop as it is next to it. The guy who took my order was helpful and patient as I made my selection and then brought my food out to me. I ordered the chicken, mushroom, and cheese crepe and a lemonade. The crepe came with a carrot coleslaw with some good seasoning! It was a nice view as I enjoyed my meal. I will definitely return in the spring when more flowers are blooming!
