I should start by saying that I managed to get these rooms heavily discounted. The usual price seemingly reached $250+, and I managed to get it for $86 a night.With that being said... it was okay. The room was clean. There was a hair dryer, an iron... the usual accessories. The air conditioning, however, does not go below 67F/19.45C. Even though you can set it to 40F. The room, in my opinion, can get a little warm. Too warm. I was lying in bed, getting a little sweaty and irritated. I asked the concierge, and they said it does not go below 67F. Sorry.Its probably not a big issue for some, but for myself, it was.There was a sauna and a steam room, I managed to use both, and they did their job.The pool, however, is quite small and wouldnt accommodate many. No one often used it during my trip, but if it was busy, I could see you not being able to use it... plus, it had sediment at the bottom and was definitely lacking in the hygiene area. My eyes didnt sting when I opened my eyes, so I would say there probably wasnt any solution cleaning it.In my short window frame of the jacuzzi being free from other guests... it sadly stopped working. So, I had a small visit to a slightly warm, oversized bathtub. It was fixed an hour later, but it was too late for me.The app is very user-friendly, and Id suggest giving it a download. You can request essentials to be bought to your room, which is great for those who might not like talking on the phone or in person.For $86, I could have stayed in worse places, but Ive also stayed in slightly better places. For that reason, Ive given 3 stars.

Incredibly close to Microsoft and Google campuses, this hotel had a very upscale feel and welcoming, polite staff. Check in was very quick and thankfully parking was free.Considering the lobby, I was looking forward to the room but I was a little disappointed to find that it was pretty basic. It had laminate floor which Im not a huge fan of (at least being non-carpet) unless Im in a tropical location and the TV was frustratingly only usable if you attach your phone to it. This was really irritating.Bed was at least comfortable and room was clean which are probably the most important parts.

A gem hiding in plain site! Cross between a semi luxury hotel and a spa. Fantastic amenities and details. Friendly helpful staff. Walkable to a couple really nice restaurants. 25 minutes to wine tasting in saratoga. Definitely staying here again!

The hotel offers excellent value for money, with free parking, sauna, gym, swimming pool, and jacuzzi. The rooms are reasonably sized, with double beds that are very large and can comfortably sleep two people in each bed. The level of technology is high, with rooms equipped with Apple TV. However, the downside is the lack of storage space in the rooms. The bathroom walls are bare, without a towel rack, forcing us to place used towels on the bath floor. The writing desk lacks drawers, requiring all tools to be kept on the desk, which makes the room demanding to stay tidy. The service is excellent, showing a high level of training. I would come back again. Another thing is the hotel price is unstable; be sure to check the price at the last minute, as you can see a big difference from the previous. Good luck.

We stayed here for Parents Weekend at Stanford and absolutely LOVED the place. It felt way more luxurious than the price we paid for it! It had a great vibe, everything was super clean and even the workout room felt special. Loved the pool and hot tub. We had a small group that wanted to watch a volleyball game on TV so we were able to rent the small workroom and cast the game from the phone to the TV which made it fun to watch. We had yummy drinks from the bar and excellent service. There was some construction in the area while we were there so the power was out for a bit but the hotel notified us in advance and gave us a small amount of compensation even though it wasnt their fault. I would highly recommend this hotel - we will be back!

I had a fantastic stay at this clean new modern hotel where all of the staff was extremely nice and welcoming. I stopped by the bar first as its sleek look caught my eye, and I must say the bartender got my attention with their rendition of a G&T, amazing. Right outside the bar opens up to the pool and hot tub area, which then connects to the gym, sauna, and steam room, staying private from the common areas. Overall this hotel has a great layout utilizing space very, comfortable rooms with the latest tech, and finally great management and friendly staff. I would highly recommend and plan to stay here next time I visit the area.

(Updated Sat afternoon; lowered to 1 star): At check-in the front desk agreed to split my payments into two cards. I double confirmed with them during check-out. Now they are charging the entire amount to one card and removing the previously pending transaction on the other.Just stayed for a business trip. Booked as this was the only “5-star” hotel within the budget set by our company, but very disappointed by the service. I already had a bad hunch when I had to call the front desk for 5+ times and wait for 10+ min before reaching a real human to ask about payment details.Upon check-in I was told that my stay came with a credit that would cover ordering food from restaurants. As I was checking out on Sat and had team events the previous nights, I was planning to use it towards my Friday dinner. When checking the details about using the credit with the front desk the night before, I was informed that the restaurant would be closed for private dining. That’s disappointing but it’s fine, and they said the manager would contact me to work something out. Asked the following morning and they confirmed the manager would email me during the day. No one ever did.So I planned to get something Sat morning before checking out. The QR code on the sheet for room delivery is public and only accepts card payments. Called the restaurant multiple times and no one picked up. Neither did the front desk. Not sure what’s going on with this hotel.

Our stay at this hotel has been extremely disappointing. Weve been here for four days, and from the moment we checked in, weve had a major issue with our rooms air conditioning. Despite reporting it on the first day, the problem remains unresolved as we approach our last day.Weve called the front desk multiple times, but their only solution was to provide us with a tower fan. The technician who came to fix the AC merely opened the window, reset the unit, and left without making any real repairs. The AC issue persists, leaving our room uncomfortable and our complaints ignored.Given the hotels lackluster response and inability to address such a basic issue, I am perplexed at how this establishment can be rated as a 5-star hotel. Their customer service and problem-solving approach are far below expectations. I would rate this experience at most one star, considering the ongoing inconvenience and discomfort we have endured.

I came here to be able to relax while I was healing and they didnt tell me about parties they had booked out in the center courtyard and restaurant and I could hear the music in my room all night until late very clearly and loudly as well screaming from drunk guests. I purposefully pay more to stay at a 5 star hotel so that its quiet and comfortable. The rooms werent well cleaned there were hand prints ok the inside of the bathroom sliding door and the wall adjacent to the sleeping area. The desk was chipped and the TV wasnt working properly. When we ordered door dash no on informed us or offered to bring it. We found it cold in their back area so one of the staff members had to receive it. They did waive our pet fee as we had a pet with us, but if they had been honest about the noise and the party they were hosting we would have stayed somewhere else because it was critical that we got some rest which didnt happen. We checked out a day early because I couldnt be there anymore to convalesce.The staff was kind but they couldnt really help.

We had an absolutely delightful stay at Shashi Hotel Mountain View and can confidently give it a well-deserved 5-star rating. As a family with kids, we found the hotel to be a perfect blend of comfort and convenience. The peaceful ambience, along with the excellent amenities, made our stay very enjoyable. The hotels central location off the freeway was quite convenient for our travels, and the complimentary EV charging was an added bonus. The steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi are well-equipped and it truly felt like a home away from home, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made our family vacation memorable. Highly recommend this boutique gem for a superb and rejuvenating experience, and not to miss the exceptional staff.

If you really want to be close to google this might be a good spot to spend the night. Nothing more. The standard room is extremely small so you will have to upgrade to their “premium” room. Even in the premium rooms the drain is clogged and despite their claim that you can check at 1pm, they will not let you go grab your stuff after 11am. The company laptop was left behind as i was not allowed to go check my room after 11. Had to go the next day to grab it. Also, there is no coffee maker in the rooms and coffee downstairs is $6. The burger was pretty good and that was the best part. The lights in the rooms turn off all the time and you have to get up and turn the light back on every five minutes.

I stayed here a few months ago for work and loved this hotel. The room was clean, good toiletries and a warm comfy robe. I had a corner room with a beautiful layout and modern design. I can’t wait to return again.

Clean hotel right next to Google campus. Ive stayed here twice when my nearby home has been beset by power outages. (Thanks PG&E!). There is easy parking in a multi level lot on the property where your car will be protected from flying debris in a storm. The power stays on. The staff is polite. The wifi works. The TV works. There is shampoo, conditioner and body lotion in the shower and plenty of towels. Its quiet. No issues. Charge your devices, sleep, and shower and go to work. Better than staying in a cold dark house with no Internet! But leave on the bedside light while you take a shower because the shower lights turn off automatically after very few minutes.

The only good part is being close to Google campus. Rooms are not spacious and comfortable, and lack amenities like a coffee maker. The restaurant has limited options, with only one vegetarian option in the whole menu. I will probably not choose this option again next time I am there in the town.

Mixed feelings about this hotel. It’s very clean and looks brand new but far from a 5-star experience.They blast latino music in the lobby (feels like a club), hire students at the reception, room service knocks at 8am on saturday, doesn’t empty the trash (4 days), no breakfast included (not even coffee), and make you pay 50$ to use their work rooms.So, yes, it’s a nice hotel but don’t come expecting a 5-star experience.

This hotel is a new modern and eco-friendly hotel. It has motion detecting lights, a spacious gym with state of the art equipment and the staff is very attentive. Will i go back? Probably not. The rooms are so close and paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING. People talking, farting and everything in between.

Sleek hotel but there were several things that were off in my room. 1) the fridge was so loud, I had to move the desk and unplug it during the night. 2) the lowest I could set the air conditioning was to 67 degrees..never been in a hotel with that setting. I couldn’t figure out the blackout curtain either so there was a lot of light in the room. Won’t be coming back unfortunately.

This a gem of a little hotel. If you have any reason to be staying in Mountain View, Cupertino, PA, or Menlo then this is well worth a visit. Small but well stocked fitness center, intimate well-decorated pool and hot tub area, excellent restaurant on site with Michelin chef (Broma) and well-stocked bar that opens at 4:30PM. The rooms are modern and clean with no carpet and have robes, slippers and nice toiletries. Large 4K TV as well. Good free wifi (20 MBPS)The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful through out the stay. Also, for breakfast they have a lovely coffee shop with plenty or quick breakfast options. For those on a budget, the room has a water heater for tea and coffee which is stocked in the room.One gripe: the remotes combine a samsung smart remote and apple TV remote. It was not intuitive to use even for a tech savvy user like me. When remotes were paired/ working it provided a solid selection of TV channels and ability to cast from devices.

They had the most inconsistent room cleaning I had ever experienced at a hotel.One day they put fresh towels and fold the hanged ones. The other day none of that. They didn’t refresh the simplest things like the soap bar, the toilet paper, the bottled water. They didn’t consistently make the bed perfect. You can see parts of the sheet sticking out. They did not wipe the bathroom sink area out of water spots or dry the shower. These are things that should not cost a lot and only requires a better training of their employees.They don’t have a decent coffee maker in the room. They only have really bad quality instant coffee and a cheap electric kettle. And you should be lucky if they remember to refresh those with non decaf instant coffee.Other than these, the room was clean and I kept it clean since there was not much reliable daily cleaning anyway. The bed is relatively comfortable. The room is not big but good enough for one person. The laminate floor in the room is also nice and clean. The advanced TV system crashes all the time. I think a simple cable would do a better job.Definitely not a weekend getaway as some guests claimed and the sauna and steam room look like a joke.

Had a lovely weekend getaway with my man. From the moment we entered the hotel, the staff was warm and inviting. We felt comfortable enough to enjoy the downstairs bar in the warm robes provided in our room. I recommend the Classic as your first drink. Spent the evening in the jacuzzi. Room wasnt huge but nicely decorated and huge shower. Definitely would go again. Im sure its crazy during the week but we found it quite serene on the weekend.

At the heart of all the major tech companies, great location as it’s close to the office. The hotel room is lovely with great service and support from the staff. Absolutely lovely hotel that is my go to for all work trips! The staff is stellar and always beyond helpful. The rooms are light and clean and simple but not in a way that feels cheap. Plenty of plugs for all of those on a work trip.The gym is really nice and they even have a sauna and steam room. The hotel is well situated (just off the 101) for business travelers visiting nearby office campuses particularly for Google, but also other corporate offices in the heart of Silicon Valley. Includes free parking. The staff was professional and friendly - very welcoming. On night 2 there was a party, band or concert - couldnt figure which - that was noisy until about midnight. That was strange given the location, but though slightly annoying was not the worst noise pollution Ive experienced in a hotel. All in all, I would award this place and 3.8 out of 5. The location (for work) is great, the staff and food were top tier; but the evaluation definitely goes downward due to initial unnecessary fees and cleanliness concerns.

My family and I went here for vacation. For the price we paid the hotel was definitely not worth it. First of all, the WiFi was extremely slow, this was probably the worst WiFi I’ve ever used. My family and I all experienced the same issues with the WiFi as me, so it certainly was not an issue connected to my phone. Second, the TV would not work. More specifically, the TV would turn on, but no service that was provided would actually work. Next, the breakfast the hotel has was simply not good. It was not just the food, it was the service there that was also bad. My family and I went there the first day we were here, and they messed up our order. We went there the second day as well, and they messed up our order again. On top of that they were out of half the things they said they had, the food was not good, and it was very pricey. Last of all, a lot of minor things made this trip an unpleasant experience. For example, they turned the lights off while I was on the treadmill in the gym, which could’ve been dangerous, they charged extra for so many additional things that other hotels usually don’t charge extra for, and the staff was rude. So, due to all these things, I have to give this 2/5 stars.

Shashi Hotel is a well designed smaller hotel. Vibe is very modern, masculine and the angles are sharp with glass, black metal and grey concrete predominating. Surprising the sound is not echoed at all. There’s the emerald hour bar which has this green ceramic and plant backdrop and wood and concrete/metal tables everywhere. The lighting is very mysterious, which can make everyone appear a bit out of a noir novel. There’s a pool in the middle of the glass enclosed courtyard and hot tub set back. You can look into the courtyard while you are eating. In the back there’s a Spanish? Restaurant continuing the moody theme with dark reds and brassy golds. I’ve read that chef is famous…the space is done well and thoughtfully - I think they are catering to the techie male crowd coming in to visit. If you get a chance check out the most impressive thing, which is the solar roof on the top floor of the parking lot. I believe new buildings are required to have this. Fun to go if you are looking for something entirely different while in Mountain View…more of a dressy code.

I had an excellent stay at the best hotel in the area within my budget. The room was spotless, and they went above and beyond to accommodate my special requests. A notable perk for me was finding a kettle in the room. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

I prefered Ameswell hotel nearby. (stayed there a week ago so it was inevitable for me to compare)Con: The view from the room was bad, sauna was too small. Cheap water kettle. Remote controls for a tv was extremly difficult to control.(why do you need two remote controls and why is it so hard to turn off the TV??? and everytime I turned the TV off and on again, I had to re-log in to Netflex!!!) TV was so useless basically. They dont have Youtube unlike Ameswell hotel.Pro: Staffs were kind and jacuzzi was good. Spacious room with openable window.

I stay at the Shashi semi-regularly for work travel, and it’s a pleasant experience every time. The folks who work there have been nothing but kind, welcoming and helpful. The staff was wonderful! Stayed for the Janet Jackson concert. The bar was super packed so we ended up going to the bar across the street. Still packed but there was plenty of space. The receptionist were super friendly and helpful. We had breakfast before check out and it was so busy. We decided to sit outside and the young lady with colored hair, I forgot her name, was amazing. She was running around the whole restaurant. Helping all the guest in and outside. The restaurant seemed a little understaffed for the amount of people that came to eat. How ever this young lady was super helpful, and made sure we were well taken care of. We’ll be back for the Post Malone concert and I hope to see that server again!

Highly recommend this hotel! The rooms are comfortable, the staff welcoming & professional. It’s within walking distance to Shoreline - maybe less than 10 minutes depending how fast you walk. The bar has great drinks & appetizers, didn’t try the restaurant. Turn down service is a nice touch & the rates more than reasonable for such a modern & easily accessible hotel from Google & Shoreline. We’d definitely stay here should we ever be in Mountain View in the future, wish we had had more time there, it was an awesome hotel & staff was some of the best - and the bar alone is worth going back for!

I considered a few comparable hotels in the area all with the same amenities and similarly priced, but Shashi won because of this standout feature: their awesome parking garage with complimentary charging. This was our second time staying at Shashi and both times the staff members consistently provided excellent service as well as offered those little perks that simply make a guest feel valued: extra water bottles, complimentary late check out, turn down service. The room is modern, bed is comfortable, AC works great, the bathroom is spacious. But the room itself is not so spacious… my only disappointment. There is an armchair oddly placed between the bed and window with hardly much space to walk. I’m a space planner and have no suggestions to improve the layout. Just remove the chair. Back to the positives: we also enjoyed the sauna, the steam room and jacuzzi during our stay—very relaxing, and along with beautiful weather for a hike along the nearby Bay Trail, we certainly felt like this was our “Urban Retreat”.

WOW! My stay here was absolutely divine! From the start, everything was so efficient and smooth. Parking was super easy and convenient. The check in process was quick. I was assisted by Brian, and he was wonderful. I work in the service industry myself, so it is so refreshing when someone offers top tier customer service and has a smile on their face while doing so. Once I got into my room, the experience just continued to get better and better. The room was gorgeous to say the least. It was very clean, beautifully decorated, had comfortable beds, and everything you need to feel relaxed. I ordered room service, and it was quick. I ordered the burger, and it actually was the best burger I’ve had in a long time. Delicious!! Fast forward to checking out, the process was just efficient and delightful as checking in. If you haven’t guessed yet, I 100% recommend this hotel!!!

I wish I could rate this hotel with 100 stars. First and foremost, the staff is exceptional. Ariana seamlessly and quickly completed the check-in process, and was joyful despite the late hour. The dental kit and slippers I requested were sent to my room almost instantly. James was courteous and knowledgeable - an expert in customer service. Natalia was a delight and kindly offered fresh organic fruit from Mr. Lees (spelling) farm. Krista was also kind - the Shashi Team is amazing. Below are a few of the highlights.1. Parking structure was bright, clean and spacious.2. Luggage carts available to conveniently assist with guiding luggage to room.3. Google bikes available, first come, first serve.4. We had a very disappointing experience staying at Shashi back in April.The biggest problem was the leaking shower! We reported this to the staff and they did try to fix the problem. They made us feel like we were the ones who didnt shut the shower door properly and we were told that some splashes of water was normal. But we werent talking about small splashes of water, we had big pools of water leaking from the shower...Towels inside the bathroom had makeup stains.The room had poor ventilation and felt stuffy. We were offered a fan but it didn’t make much difference.The smart tv often had connection issues.The housekeeping team was extremely loud chatting happily in the hallway.For a 5-star hotel, we really didn’t expect so many problems with our stay.

*EXCELLENT* Place to use as a sleeping spot for Shoreline Amphitheater. Its the closest place to stay and about a 2-3 mile round trip walk to In n Out - Google Campus has a nice pathway directly to the freeway crossing. (If you leave directly from shoreline, you can make a triangle of your trip straight to In and Out and then your back at hotel 2-3 miles) and there are other food options available near. Room was very modern. Great look, windows do not open though, was my only complaint about the place. If you take a long hot shower you may need to open your door to air it out - the air system will get it but it might take a bit. Staff was excellent. I missed out on the Carte Blanche Croissants when I saw what I wanted I just was busy and forgot to grab one. Almond croissant looked really good!Parking garage is very useful as well, I did not see anything about it in the booking and thought I would be on street.

The parking for the car was free too! And you can get free water bottles as well. Nice free perks! On the first floor, I saw several conference rooms and a gym! We also sat outside near the swimming pool by the heated area and enjoyed the evening! I am rating this property for the quality and value provided, not against my expectations of a 5-star experience. The hotel does have nice amenities similar to many 5-star resorts, but think of it as an upscale Aloft. If you go in expecting a true 5-star rated hotel you will be disappointed.We had a nice stay at the Shashi Hotel. Think of this like an upscale Aloft so your expectations arent set too high! We were there on a Thursday and Friday night and on check in around 5PM Thursday the lobby was bustling with groups of business people meeting for cocktails and dinner. Obviously this is a very popular spot for Google, Apple, Tesla, Microsoft (etc etc) employees to stay due to the proximity to the local campuses. Friday night was much quieter in the lobby. If youre going for vacation or a couples getaway I would recommend weekends versus weekdays. Check-in was provided at two podiums in the open air lobby and the noise from the restaurant made it a little difficult to communicate.We noticed the hotel had the smell of a spa everywhere we went which was nice. Prices seemed very reasonable for the accommodations and service provided. Rooms were the typical minimalistic European style rooms you find at any Aloft - nothing fancy about the rooms. They did have higher tech in the rooms including a Samsung Frame TV, Apple TV and built-in Chromecast. I liked being able to just use my phone to watch my normal streaming services and cast them to the TV. Im pretty tech savvy but the thermostat perplexed me for a while. Once you figure it out, all is well except it takes a few hours to adjust the room to the desired temperature (it was 62 in our room on arrival). I found the soft bed comfortable and slept well.We requested a quieter room that was not overlooking the courtyard as I had read in other reviews the courtyard rooms tended to be noisier late into the evening. We got an outside room on the 5th floor and it was quiet there. We did notice in the hallway that we could hear the restaurant noise all the way up on the 5th floor through the air vents. Note that there are only two elevators at one end of the property (similar to many Aloft hotels) and if you are at the opposite end it is a long trek to your room. We wanted to just use the stairs but the stairs would only allow you to exit to the street, meaning we had to walk all the way around the outside of the building and reenter the lobby on the other side.We checked out the gym and pool area, but we didnt visit either. The pool and hottub are oddly placed in the middle of the courtyard where those sitting in the bar or dining at the restaurant can see you. We would have gone to the hot tub but we didnt really want to be on display for the dining business folks. The bartenders were nice and the drinks were well made. We did not eat at the main restaurant but we loved the new coffee shop & bakery that just opened a week earlier. Cappuccinos were fabulous and dont miss the almond croissants!

I dont usually write reviews for hotels (its possible that this is my first ever), but the service at this hotel was so incredible. I recently broke my ankle, and have to sit down when I shower. I called the hotel a couple days before arrival to see if they could accommodate me by providing a stool for the shower. I had a real person on the phone within seconds of calling, who assured me that they would have a shower stool ready and waiting in my room upon arrival. When I arrived, everyone was over the top friendly and helpful, and sure enough, the stool was there, in the shower, so that I didnt even have to think about it.On top of all this, the location is great, parking was easy, and my room and other parts of the hotel that I passed through were clean and nice. Ill definitely be staying here again.

A lighted magnifying mirror is appreciated by traveling business women/people, this room did not have one.Price: supposedly I got a deal for a total of $416, an added $87 in taxes were added, so keep in mind the pricing isnt exactly what you think you are buying. I was looking forward to having lunch when I checked in but the restaurant only opens in the afternoon. Housekeeping starts early so you may here quite a bit of chattering among them. Nowhere to walk to a restaurant or coffee shop. Downtown is less than 2 miles so its a nice walk if you have time.Overall: Welcome to Silicon Valley, even modest, rehabbed hotels (2021) are expensive. This one being next door to many Google buildings probably has many independent contractors or visiting team members from other areas.

Shashi Hotel - a little gem of a new, intimate, upscale hotel - it had a modern design and felt very California cool. We loved using their spa, steam room and jacuzzi! The 80 degree heated pool was a nice touch as we went in February and it was still a bit chilly. Our room looked out onto the pool courtyard and bar. I could see what a fun venue it would be in the summer with the indoor bar that has windows that can be opened into the courtyard! We all got different breakfasts to start our day, and it was satisfying and delicious. The service personnel were very welcoming and smiley. We would love to try their restaurant Broma at another time - their dark color scheme and booths looked so romantic. Surprising to see at the very top of the parking structure, we saw the parking lot roof was a giant solar panel/roof! Would love to learn more about how that is powering the building. I was not as impressed with the hotel itself. The first room we were given was very dirty. There was hair on the bathroom floor, every surface was dirty, the floors were not clean and something was wiped all over the tv screen. We were switched to a different room & although it was better it still was not as clean as it should be. The rooms do not feel cozy or comfortable. They look nice in pictures but up close is a different story. The location is not very pretty but it is an easy drive to most places you’d need to go in the area. The pool, restaurant & bar are in the center of the hotel which leaves little privacy whether you’re in a room with a window facing the inside or a person downstairs trying to enjoy these amenities. There are also small meeting rooms that we needed to use for a zoom meeting which are $50 to rent & are also lacking in privacy. We had the option of staying here for a week but decided not to book past the night we stayed. I will likely choose a different hotel next time I’m back in the area.

Had a bad experience with Shashi Hotel where they didnt have a baby crib. We called 2 weeks in advanced and asked for a crib, in which they promised they had one. When we got there, we confirmed with the concierge that they had a crib, and were assured they had one in the room for us. When there was no crib in the room, we called the concierge three times, and they kept telling us the crib was on the way, only for them to admit they didnt have a crib.After the terrible service, the manager reached out to us and apologized and gave us the room for free, which was nice. Modern, well designed hotel with meeting rooms a short walk to the Googleplex - I can see employees visiting for business liking this place. The hotel is still pretty new and some stuff is still under construction - most notably the lobby. Staff to check you in are actually in The Emerald Hour, the adjoining bar/restaurant. Despite this, nothing was noisy and the rooms were extremely lux for the price. The only downside is that its pretty far from most of the action in Mountain View outside of the plex - you will need to drive to get to Castro, in particular. But if you need a fancy place to stay at a good value and you dont mind the fact that the most interesting thing in walking distance is a heron rookery, this is a great choice.

I recently stayed at this hotel because of its excellent location. However, my experience fell short of what I expected from a 5-star establishment.The hotels facilities did not meet the standard Ive come to associate with such ratings. Despite contacting the hotel promptly upon realizing this at the airport, the hotel confirmed that their single cleaner had not found it. Also, the price for the breakfast buffet is a little steep at $27 for what is offered.And finally they advertised as being sustainable however they are handing out plastic bottles of water constantly. this definitely has to go.

Let me start by saying that I try not to stay at hotels. Purely because of typical sub par experiences most people run into. However, due to the winter storms staying away from home was necessary as our power was out and the winds were dangerous.Upon arrival I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Ariana, the wonderful person at the front desk greeted us warmly and incredibly professionally. From that point on every moment and experience at the hotel was WONDERFUL. We genuinely felt valued, respected and we had fun!! The room was perfectly cleaned, not a stray hair or even a finger smudge from a previous guest. The aroma in the hotel was wonderful. The amenities were clean, luxurious and fantastic but more importantly.... The people were AMAZING. EVERY interaction we had, and I mean EVERY interaction we had with staff was top tier. Ariana was an absolute angel and SO helpful. She helped us navigate a somewhat difficult situation and made us feel like a top priority. Her personal approach and professional acumen should be taught in hospitality courses. She is astute, confident, professional, customer oriented and above all else... Kind. Some things you just cant teach but you can sure try and Ariana is a shining model of all these skills. I genuinely cannot say enough wonderful things about Ariana. We also had an opportunity to meet some of the folks behind the scenes by happenstance as well. We rode the elevator down with David, who I assume is the chief building engineer or one of the very dedicated engineers that keep everything running smooth. He was cheerful, warm, genuine and so down to earth. You could tell he genuinely cared about the guests and their experience. Plus hes a dog person, great guy. =] Staying at a hotel can fall on any gradient of terrible to absolutely excellent and this experience at the Shasi Hotel was truly an absolutely excellent experience. First of all, we are local and wanted to try something different. Booking the room was so simple I decided to reserve two rooms( thinking they would be close proximity) for my children, and upon reservation I was told that conjoined rooms was an option! At Checkin I was greeted by Ariana, such a lovley young lady, whom was very helpful, walked us to the elevator and explained how to get to our room. Our stay was relaxing, eventful and at ease. The rooms were clean, posh, and well lit. The food was done to perfection, a bar that made the best drinks, and our hostess acted more like a concierge rather than a desk attendant. At the restaurant we ordered a steak expected a dinner, oh no it was a 69 dollar steak only add ons are extra, we ordered from the entre menu. We were told the steak dinner was enough for 2 to share so imagine our surprise!!! Breakfast I thought would be complementary not. 40 dollars for us to have carton eggs that were cold and cold bacon and not sure what the rest was (I think should be refunded). Only enough coffee to share a cup at 10 am. The coffee in the room was instant and horrible. Not at all what I expect after paying almost 300 dollars a night and looking at the street for a view and hearing all the noise of other guests. Cant say I would recommend or stay again. Oh they charged us a gratuity that we didnt authorize that and no one served us it was a buffet. So Ill be calling my c/c and getting that back!!!

Truly wonderful experience at the Shashi. Joseph and the entire team were our heroes during our wedding weekend. The guests stayed in the hotel and everyone loved it, we had our welcome cocktail area in the outdoor bar area which was gorgeous, and my husband even took his groomsmen and family photos there (see photos). It was a fantastic experience and Joseph was so helpful with the small details - he was on the ball at all times and suggested great ideas that we hadnt even considered. We still frequently pop in just for dinner or happy hour. Highly recommend!

I stayed at the Shashi with my family, the hotel was nice and as you’d expect from a luxury hotel. But what really made our stay exceptional was the genuine and warm service by James at the front desk. We have a 10 month old and he went out of his way to ensure we had a comfortable stay, pack n pay in the room, extra water and even gave a stuffed toy that the baby now loves. I walked into the hotel and immediately was greeted by a wonderful worker at the front desk named Brian. He was so kind, and gave me a menu with food and drink if I was interested in ordering to go. He then showed me the way to the elevator and I was on my way up to my room on the 5th floor. And boy when I entered my toom, I thought I was in a luxury apartment. The bathroom was spacious to get ready in with beautiful lighting. The two beds looked like they were king sized and were so beyond comfortable. Opening the cabinet you find it lit up with soft as a cloud robes and a cool coffee machine. The tv is in the middle across the beds with a beautiful artwork displayed, with options for Netflix and Apple TV. Going downstairs I went to get my drink and let me tell you the bar service was SPECTACULAR! I wasnt waiting at all, was helped immediately and had the infest bar tender. The outdoor pool area looked fabulous I wish I couldve gone for a dip. This hotel is so lovely beyond words and I would recommend it to the President(Barack Obama of course) to the people who are attending a concert down the street at shoreline. I WILL be staying here again!

In looking for a place to have a mini vacation during the middle of the week, we looked at several options in the San Jose/Silicon Valley area. There were more than a handful of places that were affordable and got good reviews, but we were attracted to Shashi because of proximity to many restaurants while still being off the beaten path.The room was adequate size, but the cleanliness and styling made it feel bigger than it is. Not to mention, this place has the largest TV of any affordable hotel that Ive ever stayed in. We got through several episodes of our current favorite Hulu show and it felt like we had moved a king-sized bed into our living room.Because of the holiday schedule, the restaurant and bar were closed during our stay, so that was kind of a bummer. It would have been great to wander down for a drink.

Everything was smooth until bedtime. I turned off the light, almost fell asleep, and suddenly was woken up by light flashing! The room was all dark, and the light inside the transparent wardrobe closet couldn’t stop flashing… haunted house…It was late and I was tired, so I fixed it myself and went to bed again. 1hr later, the nightmare happened again! I called the front desk, but there’s no way to unplug and she didn’t know how to fix it. There’s no other staff on site either. So I had to change room in my pj at midnight!That’s not the end though. Recently stayed at the Shashi for a weeklong work trip. As far as business hotels go, this place is as good as it gets. Great staff, restaurant, and amenities. The location is as good as possible in Palo Alto (not really a walkable town, nothing is nearby to anything else), but there’s a 7/11 & Starbucks right around the corner, which is HUGE bc otherwise I’d have to Uber for everything. No grocery/pharmacy/walmart etc within walking distance. Only 30 minute Uber/taxi from SFO (Note on Uber: takes a long time to find a ride - budget an extra 10-15 minutes per trip). I will stay at the Shashi every time in visit Palo Alto.Rooms: clean, modern, and spacious. Big sliding door for the bathroom. Housekeeping kept me stocked with soap, etc. I also love when hotels provide mouthwash. Nice touch.Tech: Rooms have the Samsung Frame televisions with Apple TV as a set top box. Easy to login to streaming services or watch live TV. This is great, and very rare in the business hotel world.Gym: what you’d expect from a hotel of this caliber but a little better than average. Two peleton bikes, good mix of dumbbells and machines. The highlight is in the locker room - steam room and sauna; both were clean, functional and empty most of the time. There’s also a pool/hot tub but it was too cold for me to try.The restaurant in the lobby is very good. My only gripe is that I would have actually liked a less sophisticated & less expensive dining option for room service meals. I ordered two appetizers, glass of wine, and a G&T and the total was $128. Hard to get away with charging that to my company expense account when I only get $75/day for meals

Nice and new place that is extremely clean and even a little chic (especially for Mountain View), but there were a few things that were off. The pluses are a decent cocktail bar downstairs, super comfortable beds, great showers, and great bathroom lighting. The negatives take a little more than explaining:1. My room was over the courtyard where there were multiple loud events happening late into the evening. When I called reception to inquire about the end time he simply said maybe 10 or 11 and offered nothing to remedy the sleepless conditions before then.2. Some people seem to get turndown service with little chocolates on their pillows and some people don’t… how they decide who is a mystery.3. The coffee in the room is TERRIBLE instant coffee. There isn’t a coffee maker - just an electric kettle, which would be fine… this is the perfect opportunity to offer a French press or pour over coffee, but instead they went with instant and it is UNDRINKABLE.

There is plenty of free parking in their garage, and lots of free chargers for electric vehicles (J1772 chargers, Teslas bring your adapters). One annoying issue is the fact you cannot turn off the TV if any lights are on in room. You’ve got to shut off all the lights and within a few minutes the TV will turn off. You can then turn the lights back on. We had a toddler in the room with us and this made bedtime harder than normal (my fellow parents know, when youre just getting in to a new place from a long car/plane ride, sometimes you just want to turn stuff off and go to sleep. This created an extra hurdle and was difficult to figure out on our own). Good hotel for kids otherwise, there was plenty of room to move around. We had an ADA compatible hotel room (we didn’t request this) so there was lots of room between and around the beds and in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was delicious if a little pricey.

The hotel is relatively new. The rooms are on the small size but what I consider the perfect size for one. Good facilities. The only complaint I would have is that I was there on a group booking and we spent a LOT of money between the rooms, drinks and dinners but when I asked for an extra hour and a half of late checkout the cost was half a days rate. I checked and they still had availability that night so not all rooms were needed. I think based on 16 people for 4 nights with drinks every night and 3 meals would have afforded is the allowance of a late checkout.Edit: Shashi hotel, Id accept your response if you werent willing to do late checkout for a fee so as far as I am concerned its greed and lack of customer loyalty.

It’s a good hotel albeit with some strange quirks. The lights in the room are all on a timer and turn off by themselves, which is super annoying as the entire room goes dark while you’re reading in bed, in the shower, and so on. There is also apparently a Shashi app to control lights and AC from your phone, which would have been nice to know about when I first checked in, but no one mentioned it. It’s also not the quietest hotel- the walls and floors are thin and the street on which the hotel presides has a lot of traffic throughout the night, in addition to an outdoor nightclub which pops up on Sunday nights until 1 or 2 am. It’s definitely a party hotel, with the average age being 25 and under, and this is not a bad thing but it definitely affects the vibe. Some pros are the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, the overall aesthetics and design of the hotel and the rooms are excellent and sleek, and the lobby/pool and even individual Zoom rooms are really well-appointed. I had a nice stay, especially when it was quieter after the weekend, but the hotel could do without the automatic lights, and guests should certainly be made aware of the app upon checking in. The noise from neighbors seemed louder here than other hotels. Breakfast I think was overpriced. When we asked for more waters in the room, no one came to drop them off. Other than that, I love the lobby (stocked with coffee), theres offices for meetings, a bar and a pool.

I had my first 5-star hotel experience here and- while it was comfy and friendly, I would not consider it the height of luxury. Here’s a walkthrough of my 1-night stay:The free parking with electric vehicle charging was great, but the elevator was out of order and had no sign on it (until the next morning). We each have physical health conditions which make stairs a bit of a challenge so this was not ideal. My partner and I walked down the stairs cautiously as the stairs did not have much cover from the rain so there were large puddles and water steadily dripping from the top. Luckily, it was not slippery and we made it to the lobby quickly without much trouble.My first encounter with the lobby host was wonderful. I forgot to pack some toiletries and she was able to assist me immediately with complementary replacements. She was helpful, kind, and quick. We found the elevator and our room quickly with her directions.In the room, I had a few difficulties. The lights were motion censored and automatically turned off at times. I could not figure out how to keep the lights turned on, so kept having to turn them back on. This wouldn’t have been so bad if it didn’t happen while I took a shower. After annoyingly having to step out of the shower every couple of minutes- I just decided to shower in the dark and hope for the best. It would’ve been nice to have had a room guide that showed how to operate the light switches.A room guide would’ve also been helpful to explain all the amenities of the hotel, food options, etc.I know the Shashi app has some of these details and extra functionings, but the app was down for part of my stay. This meant I didn’t have access to much information about my stay. It also served as my room key, so I had to ask for a physical key at the lobby for the rest of my stay. Luckily, the person working noticed their system was down on their end, as well, and they were still able to make me a physical key card. They just asked for my last name and room number and made me a card. I appreciated that this was an easy solution, but I worry about the safety of guests since i was able to get a room card without showing my identification and evidence of purchasing the room.For the room itself, I found that the slippers and robe were a bit uncomfortable for my liking but I’m also finicky about how clothing feels and was still happy that the robe and slippers were there as an option.What I didn’t find was a microwave. I understand that some guests may not want/need a microwave, but I would assume many guests would use a microwave in their room. It was a bit strange to have a mini fridge, an electric kettle, a safe, and a smart tv in the room but no microwave.I did have a bit of a rough sleep, too. I’m a light sleeper and need white noise and a cool temperature to stay asleep. The bed was comfy, but the AC’s fan just didn’t seem to work. I had it on the highest fan level and tested the other levels but couldn’t feel any difference. There wasn’t much air circulation, making the room feel hotter in certain places. It also didn’t make any noise like a fan would, so I could hear every little thing in the room and in the rooms and hall adjacent to mine. I had to sleep in longer to make up for the interrupted sleep and almost missed breakfast.Luckily, the staff at breakfast were amazingly accommodating. I ate the Eclectic Breakfast in the lobby. The person working was attentive and very friendly. She made me a great cup of coffee and checked in with me a few times about the status of new or refreshed food items on the tables. There was a great set of options for food and drinks. It was certainly worth trying instead of eating out.The process to check out was fast, easy, and- again, friendly. The staff really do bring life to the hotel. In the future, I hope the rooms get a user friendly guide, a comfier robe and slippers, a better fan, and a microwave.

This hotel is great on paper and even has a cozy feeling walking in, however, the short stay would prove different than first impressions.We booked this hotel for a few reasons as the hotel looked like it would be a great spot to stop for the night on our road trip and a big plus was the restaurant being open. The restaurant stated it was open until 10 PM on the website and in the room. Upon arrival we were told the restaurant closed early, it was only 8 PM and when we called were toldIt was open. We were then told we could try to door dash something and good luck.Once arriving in the room we found a dirty bathroom, stains all over the sink and hair all over the room. A dirty bathroom sink and a dirty bed comforter. Not to mention how uncozy the room was. The fallowing morning we went down for breakfast as we booked with our Expedia VIB program, which offers free breakfast, and were assured by the front desk the night before the restaurant would be open for that. When we went down for breakfast we were told by the front desk gentleman that breakfast was not being offered either. He did go back to talk to the chef and came to offer us a yogurt. To say the experience was disappointing is an understatement. To add to the disappointment the elevator was broken in the parking lot, and I have a torn meniscus and can’t do stairs. The steam room was also out of service and the gym was not very clean, with more hair piled in spots. I am so upset - I saved my Expedia points for years to use on a 5 star hotel, and this was so disappointing.

Great fun for the whole family and even your pets! The bar drinks and hotel restaurant are very chic and have a wonderful design . The environment was amazing for our 4th of July staycation. All staff was friendly and catered to our every need. The bathrobes in the room really elevate the vacation vibes experience. The pool is heated and is angled perfectly so that the sun hits the pool and not the jacuzzi zone. The design of the entire hotel is carefully thought out and very clean. It was such an amazing amazing experience! Like no other! Very clean rooms and bathrooms! The most beautiful stone decor the space and even closet! The service was also professional as well as generous. Everything that you could possible think of they covered! Such as the usual necessities but went as far as even having a personal lufa and even for us ladies make up wipes! We stayed at this hotel while attending a concert, we left for concert 3 hours after arriving, upon arriving back to the hotel we noticed personal belongings missing we found out the staff had entered our room they called it a turn down service ( 3 hours after arriving ) never had this before, we immediately contacted the front desk manager who filed a claim that we told would be investigated and that we would be comped our room for what we experienced. The hotel manager said he completed a review and that he interviewed the cleaner and she said she was only in the room 5 minutes and assured him she did not take any of our belongings 🤔 did he really think she would tell him she did ?? The evening manager told us multiple times she would be fired wow that’s a great feeling to tell your guest, completely unprofessional, then he said sorry we did not find any evidence so you will not be comped but we would love for you to come stay a free night on us ????? Oh yes I would love that ??? Really never again would I ever stay at this establishment we where treated with disrespect, when I filed a dispute and they called the hotel to discuss they hung up on them then didn’t answer the phone again, very professional establishment. Warning if you plan on staying here lock up your personal belongings cause they will be coming in for a “turn down service “

Swanky! My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the Shashi Hotel. The drinks and burger at the Emerald Hour were a highlight but all of the food was really good - including the breakfast buffet. I love a good buffet and this one had a Spanish flair which was fun. Bummed we didnt have time to use the pool/hot tub but we really enjoyed the steam/sauna. The room itself was lovely with the fancy tv to stream shows or have it look like art when not in use. We liked the Silicon Valley decorations in the room and I wanted to stay in the bed forever - so comfortable. Id definitely recommend the Shashi. Just go already!

The hotel design was beyond impressive. The open concept and layout was nothing like I’ve seen before. The staff were all dressed in black attire with vest and shirts tucked, and they were professional yet personable. I had encountered an issue with my flight details and explained at the front desk…and concierge brought me a complimentary bottle of champagne. Nothing lacked attention from the sign on teakwood to the well thought out signature fragrance of body wash, hand sanitizer, and shampoo. This was by far the best experience I’ve had at a hotel/resort. I will be back again, and again.

The neighborhood is very quiet and there’s not much around, but it was really close to downtown Palo Alto - shops, restaurants, etc.Cons: unfortunately I wasn’t able to use all the amenities the hotel has to offer. It was a quick stay, so there was no available slots for the sauna/steam room. If you want to use it, you have to book it in advance. The pool did not meet my expectations. I don’t know if the sun ever hits it. Also, there are only 3 lounge chairs available in the pool area, which I found quite odd. I would really recommend the hotel to get more appropriate pool furniture, so people can get more comfortable and really enjoy that area. The pool cabana showed on hotel photo gallery was not there.Highlights - cleanliness, background music at lobby/pool/bar (the Brazilian Bossa Nova songs were incredible!), the amazing fragrance in the hallways.

Unfortunately a really expensive facial cream (la mer brand) of mine was stolen from my room during my stay there. My la mer cream was worth about 600 dollars and I used it on my first day during my stay but couldnt find it in my room anymore when i was leaving. I never took the cream outside of the room. I never expected this would happen with a hotel like this. I reported it lost to the concierge but they only told me that they didnt find anything from lost and found. I dont really have evidence for the stealing and theres nothing really i can do about this. Its deeply upsetting and disappointing to me this happened during my business trip.

This hotel has only been open for two months, expectations are really high for it; they meet all them outstandly. All the staff is very friendly and super nice. The rooms are brand new with it all, apple T.V, walk in shower and tablet you can connect to. The manager and James were exceptionally nice and let us used the Spa after hours. Even gave us a comparatively sparkling wine. If youre planning to make a trip out to Silicon Valley, I would highly recommend to stay here.

Starbucks is conveniently around the corner for breakfast as well as 7-11, and they have a microwave behind the front desk for guest use. I really appreciated the wireless charger on the nightstand, free parking, shower loofah (I forgot mine, and hate using washcloths in the shower) as well as easy access to Silicon Valley. Wifi was super fast for the 60 person Zoom workshop I facilitated from my hotel room. Will definitely stay here again!

2nd time I stay there and its such a great place. Its recent and modern, much better than most of the worn out places I used to stay at. Its super convenient to go to Google - I walked and cycled back & forth. Theres also a really nice gym and pool.1 thing to watch for: if youre sensitive to noise, ask for a room thats not on the road - I was woken up multiple times by crazy folks driving with very loud cars in the middle of the nightAnd 1 thing for hotel Management: you have a beautiful sauna but you heat it at 110°F!?! This must be a joke; and it wasnt a temporary glitch - theres a big sign about it. I went in and could barely tell that it was on.... A sauna should be at least 150°F, preferably 180°F. You might as well turn it off and not say you have a sauna. Please crank up the thermostat.

I stayed at Shashi Hotel for the last 6 nights and the least I can say is this place is the coziest, cleanest, and the most in which I felt like a second home to me!My room was very clean and the customer service was impeccable! I basically enjoyed the incredibly soft and warm bath robes, the green tea placed in my cabinet, and the fact that the Housekeeping department was a lifesaver! I needed a last minute sewing kit to have a quick fix, and they knocked my door in no time. Hands down to Lupita, the housekeeping supervisor! The wagyu cheeseburger and fingerling potatoes at their restaurant The Emerald Hour were just heavenly.The space in the lobby area was spacious and modern and the choice of the lighting design was really unique. Overall, Shashi was definitely the right place for my staycation! I did not get the chance to try their sauna and steam room or their heated pool but I ABSOLUTELY enjoyed their 24/7 gym. The equipment in there was just what I needed for my workouts!I would definitely be back whenever I decide to disconnect from the daily routine or whenever I need to have some quality relaxed time.Thank you Shashi for being a second home, and for the phenomenal stay!!

Booked a room November last year, the AC of the room did not work. Changed to another room below the mechanical room, the whole was vibrating, then Cinthya said all the rooms were like that and refused to change the room again. I had to left at midnight and went back to check out. James said a refund would be issued since I didn’t live there. Modern and chic hotel. The first couple of nights I was in a room that was above the restaurant/bar area. That room vibrated at night and was very noisy. But I asked them to move me to a quieter room, and they did so very quickly. The main feedback I would provide to the hotel is actually to provide more instructions on how to deal with all the smart features of the rooms. In order to turn the TV off, you have to press the apple TV button, then scroll down to settings, then tap then, then scroll to Sleep Now.

TL; DR - If you are a light sleeper, I do not recommend this hotel.Based on the prior reviews on Google, my family and I were excited to stay at this hotel especially since we decided to splurge a bit while we were staying in the bay area. However, Shashi Hotel was all sizzle and no steak. The hotel has many modern amenities - such as Peloton machines at the gym, a nice bar/lounge area, a newer TV. However, so do many other higher-end hotels.Once you look beyond the veneer, there are several major flaws to this hotel.1) Its quality of service feels like it just doesnt get the small details right.For example, for the premium price you pay for the hotel, you get the wall-installed shampoo/conditioner/body wash as you do at budget hotels. They are contained in these cheap, noisy large bottles that sometimes dispense properly, but other times, they get stuck. They are shared by the previous guests and the next guests. I totally get the environmental/eco-friendliness aspect. However, it just does not fit with the premium positioning of the hotel.Another example. When we first walked into the room, the shower baseboard was completely misaligned. At first, we thought that it was broken. Then, we realized that the cleaning crew forgot to put it back properly after cleaning it. Overall cleanliness of the bathroom was subpar, but we decided not to make a big deal out of it.2) The walls in our room were thin with no soundproof. You can hear everything. The walls between the bathroom and the bedroom are embarrassingly and uncomfortably thin. Also, you can hear the guest staying at the next door talking through the vents in the bathroom quite clearly. If you want privacy, you wont get it.On top of that, the walls between floors are also thin. You hear every footstep of the guests above your room. We were woken up at 2:30AM by guests above us who were night owls. We called the front desk to inform around 3AM, but nothing was resolved. It seemed that the staffs were not well equipped to handle intricate situations like that.3) If your room is facing the inner side of the building, where your window directly looks down at the bar/lounge area, you will hear people dining/wining/talking until late into the night. Its very loud. If you plan to go to sleep early, you should request your room to face the outer side of the building.Overall, the hotel focusess too much on having modern equipments, and coming across as hip and cool. However, its missing the most important aspect of a hotel: comfort and privacy.

Woke up to the strong smell of cigarette smoke around midnight.Called the front desk thinking I had somehow got a smoking room and not noticed.Front desk would only say “this is a no smoking hotel” and “must be people in the parking lot enjoying the night” and we hung up since I was getting nowhere.After I investigated further I actually saw someone standing directly outside my window on hotel property smoking.After I was able to get a video and call reception again they finally believed me and asked the person to move.Not sure how the smell even got in as the window was closed.Can’t say I would recommend this place to a friend.

I would highly recommend Shashi Hotel! The bed was very comfy and the amenities were awesome. They have a fully equipped gym with cardio equipment, weights, and even a peloton bike. The pool was a popular spot to hang. I would recommend getting some more chairs out there. Restaurant had delish food and drinks. Great location if you are going to shoreline. Only about a 15min walk to the venue. I will definitely be back!
