The card board box was not a very good quality box for shipping.Machine was packed in a inter box. I didnt have a problem setting the machine up for sewing. I went on line to You Tube and found a good review on how to use the Jet-air to thread the machine. The manual was also had good instruction on the Jet-Air threading Gave the review a 5 star on the machine usage.

Ive been a customer of SMP for about 5 years. My first purchase was a King Quilter II Elite longarm machine. The service and tech support has been fabulous when Ive need them. 2 yrs ago I bought the Butler Deluxe robotics to go on the longarm. Again, the service and tech support has been wonderful! I recommend SMP, they are a great company!

No problems at all with the serger--its beautiful and nicely packed. FedEx was a bit of a pain because they required in-person signature but changed the delivery day/time 3 times. When I order again from SewingMachinesPlus, Ill see if theres any way at all to ship differently.

Not a happy customer. I placed an order on Jan 19 in person at the vendor booth at a huge quilter’s conference. I ordered a table with an insert and casters plus a cute chair with awesome lumbar support. I was told shipping was free for the table, a small price for the chair and delivery in a week or two. That was on Jan 19. There have been many calls and emails back and forth re the order, and I finally know the table is coming today, Feb 14. Unfortunately, the 1st of the two boxes was the table casters. While I mentioned more than once in my multiple communications “I ordered a table and a chair,” no one ever asked, “What chair?” That part of my order was never processed nor billed. I gave up and ordered the chair elsewhere yesterday. It shipped today. Lesson learned.

We purchased a Brother Sewing machine during COVID-19. We had it serviced in November 2022 because it was not working correctly. The fee was $200, which I thought was a little steep. The next time we used it (about a month later), it still was not working properly. We delayed returning it but eventually we brought it back, for another $200. The staff was not helpful except 1 man. The cost was reduced by $50. This store is the only game in town for service approved by Brother. If you can find another service center, I would go there instead. I am not happy with this business.

I took my machine out of the box and carefully followed the directions to set it up. However, after plugging in the cords to machine and to outlet ... the machine will not turn on. The outlet has power. The cords look brand new and there was no apparent damage to the packaging. It was packed tightly in the box. So ... I am not sure whats going on, but would like a refund or replacement.

Review is really in response to their website... If you pay for something, especially shipping. Then it should be fulfilled. I was going to be out of town today and had ordered a whole week prior and paid for 1-5 day delivery. Obviously, that did not happen. Because they didnt ship it UNTIL the following Monday.. I emailed them Monday concerned about it, they stated it already shipped out that day, would be there Friday. Had already credited me my shipping costs (which I havent seen). I was luckily able to have someone be home because they made it signature required. So now they have to wait all day until I get home from work and now I have to wait the rest of the day until its delivered. Which makes me LATE for the trip I had planned to be out for.So when you pay for shipping, (on an in stock item I might add) 1-5 day delivery really means 1-5 day delivery...Whenever we ship it.They did ask if I didnt want them to send it, but I did not want to play tag with them, my money or shipping. Would I recommend this place? MAYBE?? And I say this ONLY because so many people from home recommend this site so much. Maybe I just had a bad experience but I dont like my time and money wasted. I pray when I get this machine that I have no issues because Ill be distraught if I have to deal with shipping this machine off and then instead of them not delivering an item on time, Ill have to bug them about a refund.

The little remnant of Kimberbell cotton was cut so badly that one end is 5 narrower than the other. Kimberbell insists I return it to the store, I kept insisting it wasnt the stores fault.Anyway, I took my Pfaff Creative Vision in to be serviced. Brought it home, loaded my thread back in it, began stitching my sisters blouse and IMMEDIATELY there was a loud clattering & the thread knotted under the throat plate - behind the feed dogs.Made the 46 mile round trip - through horrendous traffic on I-15, only to find out the take up lever was broken.From the trip home in a padded case?!I asked Mr Romero: If the machine was broken, how were you able to stitch the test fabric?He looked down at the floor.I also asked him why wasnt the curved thread holder that I have great difficulty getting to - changed to the old double clip kind, in the front of the shaft, like I asked (more than once)?Mr Romeros reply was it goes all the way up.He had the machine opened up to clean & oil it, no?Then theres the entirely missing order.In store and by phone I asked Maria to please order a #4 zipper foot, an invisible zipper foot and a 4x4 grid for my hoop.Three phone calls later - one to Maria - who was there that day - one to the in store manager, the Final Call to the big manager, who kept telling me store procedure. He made zero effort to rectify the morass by offering to begin a new order.Lastly, leaving two emails and speaking to her by phone, I kept complaining - for about 2 or 3 years now - that to be able to use the website to shop, you have to disable your script blocker, thus allowing NINETEEN scripts to run in the background.Are sales that bad that you feel the need to push ad & tracking scripts onto your loyal customers computers?I cant possibly be the only Firefox browser running NoScript.Save your time & headache pills for another day ... shop at Moores!Nanette WardFallbrook, CAPS: The only person who has been true blue to me since day one has been Chris in Escondido. Ive bought two sewing machines here and have had exceptional technical support experiences with their in person staff, far beyond the original purchase of the machine. Laura and Corey are super knowledgeable and are quick to help if I call for troubleshooting my industrial juki (inevitably the issue is the user not the machine). They are patient, would absolutely recommend for higher end sewing machine purchases.

Ordered my machine the 31st of August and a week later a email came saying that the product was on back order, a week after that first email a follow up email came saying it was taking longer than usual to ship my item from the manufacturer it would have been nice to know my item was back ordered in the first place the shipping took entirely too long even tho yes it was free shipping that is nice but telling a custom what’s in stock and what’s on back order would be helpful. I ordered my dream sewing furniture on December 8. I received a follow-up call on December 9, in which the SewingMachinesPlus/Horn of America representative carefully reviewed my order and concluded by assuring me that the furniture would be delivered into the appropriate room in my home and set up as I like.Well. My order arrived yesterday via FedEx Freight. They refused to bring the furniture into the house, saying that they could be held liable for any damage.So I nów have spent several thousands of dollars for some very nice crates that my husband and I cannot lift, let alone carry upstairs to my sewing romm, sitting in my garage.I spókę to Customer service this evening, and was assured that nothing could be done sińce the company is in California, and I am in Virginia. They will put „a notę” somewhere—in my file, I suppose. None of this makes my lovely furniture actually of use to me. I am so disappointed and sad. I cannot use my furniture in the garage, and feel that the promise of in-home delivery—part of the terms of the contract—has not been honored.

I recently purchased software from them (Dime software). Paid extra to receive it in a timely manner. Only to receive what appears to be a copied disk with no serial#. I called the store and talked with Kennedy and McKayla and was told they would get back with me the next day. That was on Monday. Still no word. I called today to get my money back and was told by Kennedy that someone would call me today with how to do that. She couldn’t just tell me??? Beware of purchases from this company!! Spending $100+ on a sewing machine you think would come with free returns if there is an issue with the machine. In fact it does not. I am so disappointed. My first order was for a sewing machine and it was a great experience. Because of that, I ordered several more items. When my order #314885 finally arrived, it was missing a seam ripper and a dressmakers ham. I called the number on the sales receipt and sat on hold for over 30 minutes. I finally asked for a return call. It never came. I called again the next day and sat on hold again and finally requested a call back. Im still waiting. I had heard great things about your customer service but I have not experienced it.

On November 30, 2017, I ordered a snap hoop for a Christmas present. When I received it, it was bent in half. It wasn’t even wrapped very well. I callled and called and finally received an email to put inside my box and then had to wait for a return mail slip by regular mail. I was charged $186. I returned it per FedEx. After many calls, I am finally informed my shipment is in customs. They don’t even know which customs. I am left with no Snap Hoop which I paid for in November 30, 2017 and it is now February 05,2018 and I still have not received anything for my money and no refund or replacement. I placed on an online order for a sewing machine and paid extra for prompt delivery. The website said orders ship in 2-3 business days. The order was promptly acknowledged by email but three business days later I got another email informing that the machine was back ordered with ETA unknown. Unlike the big online merchants, no cancellation option was offered. I went to the website to request cancelation but received an error message order not found. I sent an email requesting cancellation but no reply after 72 hrs. I finally tried calling but gave up after 30 minutes on hold. Fraudulent bait and switch marketing + poor customer service + hold-on-to-the-$-no-matter-what policy = not a vendor anyone would want to do business with. I will be disputing with my credit card company.

Placed an order for embroidery thread over a month ago. I inquired about my order when it hadnt shipped after 3 weeks. A couple colors of thread were on backorder so they werent going to ship until they had everything. Asked them to ship what they had. Another couple weeks go by and I ask about my order again. They ship a few more spools of thread but will not reply to my emails. 6 weeks after the initial order, I still dont have a complete order or an idea of when I will. I (stupidly) ordered from them again and specifically only purchased colors that were listed in stock. The next day I received a notification that items were on backorder. I emailed and asked for them to cancel the order and refund the rest of the first order. No response. Instead of cancelling, they shipped another partial order. I will be initiating chargebacks with my bank.

I got ripped off here. I ordered a case for my embroidery machine arm on the website. In the first place, the order process on the website is terrible and wouldnt go through, so I ended up having to call them on the phone. The worst place was: they claimed they only ship by Fed Ex so I paid the cost of shipping by Fed Ex, AND THEN THEY USED THE POST OFFICE!!!!!!! Considerably LESS expensive. When I called to complain, they were VERY RUDE. Still havent give me back the cost of shipping by Fed Ex vs the post office. I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THIS PLACE AGAIN. Not really too impressed at this point with them. Ordered a longarm quilting machine and frame combo. Order was almost shipped wrong due to wrong item number coding in their system, but luckily caught in time to be corrected. Packages came heavily damaged and was told to not refuse delivery (later seeing that by accepting delivery if it had been damaged, refund would have been delayed until shipping company paid claim per their website). A wheel was missing from the carriage which means that the machine can not be used until the wheel is installed. I am on day two of trying to get a return call from customer support as I cant actually get through to a person that can give any answers. Very frustrated at this point. Even tried calling Handi Quilter direct.....still no luck.

What a way to ruin a persons holiday. They should have flagged it much sooner or give notification when ordering that the P.O. Box was unacceptable. Will call in the AM to see about getting this corrected and see how they are in solving this concern with the proper customer service.Update: Called Customer Service on 12/18 and spoke with two individuals that were very professional and helpful. They made sure that the order would ship faster in order for us to receive it before Christmas. The package arrived in good condition on 12/22. I originally gave them a one star, but have upgraded it to a four star because they properly handled this situation with the Customer Service I would expect.

I found it very hard to find a sewing machine that was a basic machine. No computers or fancy buttons. It took a while for them to get my order out but, Im very pleased with the sewing machine I purchased. I understand how feedback is so important to a company. When they called me for a survey I never thought it would be a robo call. I accepted the call then got put on hold immediately. One time I waited 15 minutes before hanging up. Other than that problem Im happy with my purchase and its classic features.

I ordered a refurbished Brother XM3340 (a computerized sewing & embroidery machine) listed as In-Stock Ready to Ship, and after 7 days of waiting for it to ship, they emailed me to tell me they didnt actually have it, but for the same price ($220) I could get any one of four (4) other machines shipped to me.All four of the machines offered were basic starter machines, only one of which was computerized, and none of which do any embroidery. The cheapest one offered is an $89 machine.They literally tried to bait-and-switch me, by offering me an $89 machine for $200.Then, when asking for a refund, they tried to tell me that they never actually billed me in the first place, despite clearly having a charge in my bank account for the order.Dont list a product as In-Stock Ready To Ship if its not in stock, and not ready to ship. Dont try to pretend you dont charge people until you ship when you clearly do, and dont try to make the situation worse by pretending that offering a product worth less-than half the value as a replacement isnt just stealing someones money in exchange for garbage.

Spent over $7,000 with them on a machine and in two months it had major vibration problems. The tech who finally called me back was rude and essentially told me Id have to live with the vibration because these machines are known vibrate. This was unacceptable and SewingMachinesPlus offered no support. I ended up contacting the manufacturer who took the machine back at their expense, tested it, determined it was faulty, and sent me a new one which Ive had no problems with since. I placed a repair for my serger machine. I wasn’t sure how long it would take them to fix it (to my understanding, they may have other machines to fix as well), but it was almost over a month since I left my serger with them and say they would give me a call, which they haven’t. It also doesn’t make sense to me to even pay the repairs that is close to the same price as buying a new serger machine (around $200-$250). This will only be one time that I’ll ever get any of my machines fixed at this place.

I am sorry to say that I am disapointed with how this company handle my purchase. They sold me a steamer that came incomplete. They expect that because the picture didn’t show a hose and hanger I should know that the product was sold in parts. Well I have bought a few thing on internet and there are not always pictures of all the details of the product. If you are selling a product in parts the least you can do is inform the client of it. My wifes Bernina Artista 180 stopped working so we took it to SMP. The repair man said the mother board was shot and it would take $1,100 to fix. Almost immediately a nice lady appears and begins explaining how much more economical it would be to buy a new machine rather than put so much money into repairing such an old one. We left with the dead machine, went home wondering how to afford the repair, plugged it in at home and it worked. It would not, however, change patterns. I googled the problem, and found it was a relatively common one. There was a solution from a Bernina repair site in Australia that seemed to have a solution. I exchanged emails with them and ordered the touch screen for $160. it arrived with step by step instructions with photos. It took me about an hour to replace the touch screen and when done it worked perfectly! About $1,000 saved. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PLACE!!

Hemline Slate Blue Quilting Studio Collection Three Bag Trolley Set $229.00 seemed like a decent deal, but when it arrived it looked used. The metal framing was rusted and there was rust on the material inside the bags in some areas. The accessory bag had a bad snag in it. The sewing machine bag itself was also missing both end pieces that Velcro inside it. Its been two weeks since I brought this to their attention and still no replacement, although I was told it shipped over a week ago. I purchased the Janome HD3000 after seeing great reviews. I have sewn for 50+ yrs and have never owned such a terrible sewing machine. There really isnt one thing good I can say about it.It binds up for no reason, leaving a huge clump of thread on the underside...and then continues just fine for the next 2-3 wks. Then all of a sudden - bam - another one! I do a lot of applique quilting and the thread doesnt break - it frays so I have to re-thread and try to line up my stitches. Lately when I load the bobbin with thread it comes out like a two yr child wound it!Its not like I am new to this. I love to sew and using this machine has made me hate sewing!!Hate, hate this machine - $450+ wasted!FYI - had to pick one star or I couldnt post - deserves no stars!
