2024-06-21 22:47:12I recently had the pleasure of attending a comprehensive training program at the Security and Firearms Training Academy, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional.Course Structure and Curriculum:The academy offers a wide range of courses tailored to various skill levels, from beginners to seasoned professionals. I enrolled in the Advanced Security Operations course, which included modules on physical security, risk assessment, and firearms proficiency. The curriculum was meticulously designed, ensuring a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and practical application. Each session was well-structured, with clear objectives and outcomes.Instructors:The instructors ( Dr. Steven Caballero and J.P.Morgan) at the academy are top-notch professionals with extensive backgrounds in law enforcement, military, and private security sectors. Their expertise was evident in their teaching methods, combining real-world experiences with textbook knowledge. They were approachable, patient, and genuinely invested in the success of their students. The personalized attention and feedback I received greatly enhanced my learning experience.Facilities and Equipment:The training facilities are state-of-the-art, featuring modern classrooms, simulation environments, and a well-equipped firearms range. The academy uses the latest technology and equipment, which provided a realistic and hands-on training environment. Safety protocols were strictly adhered to, ensuring a secure and controlled setting for all practical exercises.Training Experience:One of the highlights of the program was the immersive training exercises. The emphasis on situational awareness, quick decision-making, and tactical skills was particularly beneficial. The practical sessions were intense yet rewarding, pushing us to apply what we had learned under pressure.Support and Resources:The academy offers excellent support services, including study materials and post-training support ( Sherry Ann Banks and Davis Spaid). The staff was always available to assist with any queries or concerns (Karen Ross ), making the entire process smooth and stress-free.Overall Experience:My experience at the Security and Firearms Training Academy was incredibly enriching. The knowledge and skills I gained have significantly boosted my confidence and competence in security operations. I highly recommend this academy to anyone seeking professional training in security and firearms. Whether you are starting out or looking to advance your career, this academy provides the tools and training necessary to excel in the field.Rating: 5/5In conclusion, the Security and Firearms Training Academy sets a high standard for professional training. With its expert instructors, cutting-edge facilities, and comprehensive curriculum, it stands out as a premier institution for security and firearms education.A special mention must go to Steven Caballero, also known as Gunny. His passion and genuine dedication were crucial to my success. As many graduates proudly say, “I survived Gunny!”

2024-04-19 23:22:23Very good training academy. I got in with the California Grants Program from SETA for the Advanced Security Officer Training (ASO). Sherry Ann is the person who takes care of that. She helps grants student and helped me a lot with the application. The instructors JP and Gunny are great. They scream at you, especially Gunny, to make sure you are used to confrontations on the job. Couldnt ask for better. Huge thanks to Karen and Davis too for the paperwork and permits. I will go back here for refresher course and firearms requalification.

2023-08-11 22:20:54I have been coming to this academy for many years. They are the best in this type of training. You will learn a lot that will be valuable in this type of work. If you get into a troubling situation while working in Security, this training will be very valuable as you may need to think quickly for a solution and what you learn will come to mind especially if you come across people on drugs, drunk, they may have a weapon and are angry. Instructor Gunny is the best and what you learn from him may save your life or if someone wants to sue you. He will share a lot of valuable information and only has a short time to teach what he knows. If you think that being an excellent Security Officer is what you want to do and work at a high paying job and impress your supervisors with your knowledge (for perhaps later promotions and better posts) this is the place for you. Instructor Gunny is an excellent person who will teach you so as to get you there. I find this academy the best and will continue to come here.Diane Ross

2022-04-06 23:25:23I went through the advance security training offered by them. Id recommend this program or any of the courses offered. They setup you up to succeed and dont just teach you the bare minimum and send you on your way. You can see that all of the instructors really care about the work they do. In this line of work the training you have can be life or death and there is nobody Id trust or recommend with that training other than the instructors at SAFTA. After looking into other places near me and speaking with the people at SAFTA I decided to drive 100 miles there to learn from the best. I just went to my first interview today since completing my training and they were impressed by all the certificates and offered me a job on the spot. Whether youre looking for a new career, looking to gain knowledge to try to get a promotion, or just needing a refresher theyre definitely the people to go to.

2023-01-26 16:35:03The instructor Gunny is unprofessional, rude and condescending. Do not support this business. Theyre not even accredited by the better Business bureau. I am so glad I did not pay for this class ahead of time. I walked out after he was extremely rude to some of the people attending the class. Share this post. Im blasting this on all social media pages.

2018-07-17 18:56:19I came to SAFTA to complete my 40 hours training and receive my guard card and I could not be happier with my decision. These guys (and gals) have a breadth of knowledge that is unrivaled anywhere else I looked and I picked up so much from them that it was worth every single penny. The fact that I am invited back anytime free of charge to brush up on handcuffing or any other training is just icing on the cake. All of the instructors were professional, knowledgeable, and courteous but a special shout out to the operations manager Monet and the instructor Pat for going above and beyond in making sure I was as qualified and confident as can be when I walked out the door. Great business and I will be coming back for my firearm certification and further training.
