My iPhone randomly failed and I foolishly did not have a backup. Top notch work. When a couple RAID drives in our server failed, we took them to WeRecoverData and only got some data back. What is there to say, its like something from a spy movie! Who knew that there was private companies like Secure Data Recovery that can take a broken hard drive, recover the data and then put it on a secure hard drive. Worked with Scott, he was super professional, explained the process and the options clearly, and had great customer service. I got all my business data back that would have been quite difficult if not impossible to replicate, and on a 1 TB hard drive that is pin locked. My 2TB drive Western Digital crashed and I had all these music and family photos in it, shipped my hard drive in and they recovered everything on my drive. I even purchased their external secure keypad drive and they transfer all my data over to the new drive and shipped it securely to me via FedEx. This was my first time using a service like this and I was really impressed with how easy their service was from A to Z. Chris McMacken. at Secure Data Recovery Services guided me through the entire process via email and phone. Even months after I forgot how to enter the password to my secure drive, he was able to help me right away. You can log into your account and see the status of the recovery and what was being . Well, after many years using computers I had an external hard drive fail!! As they say, Its not IF your hard drive will fail, it is WHEN will it fail? I had a 90-minute Final Cut Pro project that was minutes from being completed. But then, it would no longer mount--did not show up on my computer screen. Might have been my fault for not leaving enough free space, so maybe I stressed it too much.Needless to say, it was panic time. I looked online, and the first one I called was SECURE DATA RECOVERY SERVICES. I immediately drove it to their Pasadena location. They laid out all of the potential costs in advance, and estimated delivery time.They fulfilled those promises. The cost was, well expensive. But I paid the price rather than completely start over.All of my data was retrieved, and upon delivery they helped me locate my files from the new hard drive onto my laptop that I brought with me.Above and beyond.I hope I never need their services again, but good to know that they are there.

My external SATA drive died on me. I had over 18 YEARS pf photos on that drive along with a ton of documents I needed and spreadsheets. I knew that I needed to back up the drive but, just when I was all set to get to doing that task - the drive died! I cant put into words just how devastating that was! I did a quick Google search for data recovery services. I quickly called and much to my surprise, a real human being answered, AND I could actually understand them! Secure Data Recovery Services has a variety of levels of service. It did take a bit longer than what I was expecting, right at first, to hear back and get a plan going. In any event, the representative told me the choices that were available for data recovery, should by drive have data that could be recovered. Secure Data Recovery told me that they always attempt to get a full recovery. I must be honest, the price for data recovery is VERY expensive! I about fainted when I got the pricing. - -HOWEVER, how does one put a price on 18 years worth of family pictures? Secure Data Recovery did a great job of recovering 97% of my data! That is awesome!! They put my files on an external hard drive, a Secure Drive and overnighted the drive back to me. I have learned the hard and VERY expensive virtues of backing up important and precious photos! I am VERY pleased with the work and success performed by Secure Data Recovery Services. This was my 1st experience with Secure Data Recovery Services and I was absolutely impressed with their quality of service. I was extremely hesitant to send my external hard drive, which had 15 years of important family photos and videos on it. The reason Im writing this review is to encourage anyone who may be hesitant in sending in their device. They really do offer a free assessment of your device and their device return fee is clearly stated in the e-sign document! There was excellent communication with the representatives, including my sales man, Randall Parsons. They put me at ease and after the initial estimate, I chose not to go forward with the process because of cost. I do, however, have every intention of using this company in the future when our financial situation improves because I feel like their prices are extremely reasonable compared to other data recovery services. More than that, I feel like their professionalism and quality earned them a return customer. They had absolutely no problem returning my device in perfection condition and in a timely manner, even though I chose not to forward with the process at this time. Absolutely disappointed with this company and their service department. Their service department doesn’t return phone calls or emails and their technicians do not try every possible step to ensure data recovery.I had a hard drive that broke and used a local company in Phoenix, AZ. When they could not recover my data, I reached out to Secure Data Recovery and set up a system with the hope that they could recover my data.However, they were unable to. The real reason I’m disappointed is because I do not believe Secure Data Recovery took all the steps to recover my data.Secure Data Recovery believed that they did not have the original printed circuit board, but the local Phoenix company said they returned it, but had rewritten the malware on the board. I provided Secure Data Recovery with this information and even a Google Drive link from the Phoenix company, however, I believe that Secure Data Recovery never used this link, nor did they reach out to me or the original Phoenix company for assistance. If they had used the link, I was never informed at all.Several times, I reached out to Scott McMacken who was handling my case, but he never called me back or returned any emails I sent him.To make matters worse, Secure Data Recovery did not return all of my equipment. I was missing the original case for the hard drive, its USB cable and documented paperwork from the Phoenix company, that I included so Secure Data Recovery would have notes on what to do. When it was eventually returned—after multiple emails—I was never notified that the missing items had been found and were being returned.All of this is why I believe my data recovery failed, because Secure Data Recovery failed to take every step needed, to think outside the box about what needed to be done, let alone properly communicate with me when needed.

Overall Excellent ExperienceWorking with Secure Data came with a lot of up front honesty on the nature of data recovery.My external hard drive was damaged, and with it having over 1 tb of important files, I had understandable concern of getting any of it back. Elliot, who helped me through the process, did let me know up front the possibilities of data loss, but reassured me once the drive was looked at that he felt confident in the successful recovery of my files, while keeping my expectations at bay. Luckily, though yes some files were lost, I recovered 99% of my drive back. Regarding costs, yes, the quote up front was significantly lower than the end cost once the drive was thoroughly inspected, but Secure Data was willing to work with me in getting my files back at a price that we could both manage. Overall, the customers service was genuine and caring, making it an easy process to move through.

My computer recently crashed...more specific my hard drive quit working. Worse yet, I had been lax in backing up my computer for the previous year and a half. I went to a local computer repair service but they told me they could do nothing with the hard drive as far as data recovery...it was unrecoverable they said. So grateful for the help I received from Secure Data Recovery! Long story short, they were able to recover all of our files.We had an external Hard Drive crash that wasnt backed up. I filled out a Help Request on their website, and received a follow-up call from Chris within minutes. After letting him know about my recovery attempts, he was able to walk me through the next steps Secure Data Recovery would take to recover our files. We chose Immediate Emergency recovery, and was able to drop off the hard drive at their Universal City location as soon as I got off the phone. Chris had an answer by the end of the day as to why our Hard Drive crashed, and told me they were confident they could recover our files.Because the hard drive had a large amount of files (almost 3 TB), and there were a number of corrupt files, our recovery took about 8 days. While I hoped I could get it sooner, the large amount of data just took that long to recover and transfer to a new hard drive. Because I chose Emergency recovery, I know they were working to get us our files ASAP.When I received the recovered files, I purchased one of the hard drives they manufacture. Ive been using it for the last 2 weeks, and am very happy with its reliability.Overall, Im really happy with the service I received from Secure Data Recovery. One day it wouldnt boot up, but I was able to fix it with Disk Utility in single-user mode. That worked a few times... until it didnt and my drive failed completely. They recovered the whole 4TB harddrive! There were some unrecoverable files, but looking at the file names, they were just some Adobe Premiere Autosaves. Every bit of footage was found and retrieved.The price was steep at first, but they adjusted it according to my budget, which was very nice of them. What an awesome company! Tragedy hit on January 11th when I lost my external hard drive..It was a personal hard drive that I was using to temporarily hold all of my work data folders before transferring them to a new computer system. It also held years of irreplaceable personal photos and videos!! I brought the drive to a local company that tried to fix it but said it was too damaged and would have to be sent to a professional company. He recommended another reputable company and I sent it there. After 2 weeks time, I got the devastating call that they could not recover ANY data...at all. They offered to destroy the drive, but thankfully, I opted to have it sent back to me. I then called Secure Data Recovery and spoke with Chris McMacken, my dedicated specialist. I had 2 RAID drives corrupted while transitioning from a Windows 7 to a new Windows 10 computer. During my initial call to them, Mitchell Moore took the time to understand what had happened during the corruption and was extremely helpful & forthright in answering my questions about the likelihood of being able to recover my data. There were no surprises throughout the recovery process: SDR paid to ship my drives to their nearest lab and promptly ran diagnostic tests on my drives at no cost to me. Contacted Secure Data Recovery after suffering a complete hard drive failure and all attempts to recover the data myself had failed. Brett Olsen was super helpful and courteous. He answered all my questions on the phone and was quick to respond when I had additional questions (via email) throughout the process. My laptop hard drive crashed. I could boot off a DVD and a USB drive. However, Dell could not manage to walk me through restoring my Image Data Backup. After three days I pretty much gave up on Dell. Sure, they shipped me a new hard drive overnight. But even though I backed up regularly, I could not get my data back. All my tax data was on that drive. So much for going paperless. I googled and found that Secure Data Recovery had the best reputation, so I call them and was routed to Rob Anderson. He emailed me a FedEx label and I shipped the drive to him. They diagnosed what went wrong. They took the drive into a clean room and data platter by platter, sector by sector. They gave me access to a list of the directories and a list of the files they could recover. I told them to go ahead. In a few days I had everything that had been on my old drive back. Having always been a person who has TONS of data (including my Masters thesis and lots of research), I always tried to keep things redundantly backed up. As my computer hard drive ran out of space, I temporarily had the bulk of my data backed up in one place (big mistake), while I was saving up to buy a second drive. I was really in a bind when my hard drive crashed with no warning. Went to Best Buy who said “sorry no data.” Did a google search and located Secure Data Recovery. I sent an email to Chris and he promptly responded. Chris explained the process and gave ma a diagnostic quote. I sent in the hard drive and they were able to diagnose the read/write drive heads were damaged and not functioning. They said that they would need to dissect the hard drive, mirror the drives and then transfer the data to a new hard drive. Chris kept me informed Ali g the way and I was able to watch the process online via a secure website. They were able to mirror the drives and retrieve most of not all the data, with no corruption. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience with Secure Data Recovery Services. I had a 1 TB external hard drive with about 500 GB of information that had crashed and was no longer recoverable through standard means. I first called Secure Data, which informed me that theyd analyze the drive at no charge (other than a $25 return shipping fee). I dropped it off at Secure Datas San Diego location (which essentially is a shared secretary who ships it to Los Angeles), but I assume you can directly ship them a drive from anywhere.After 3-4 days, they had analyzed the drive, determined the problem, and provided me a quote of $900 to remove the internal discs in their cleanroom, reconstruct the drive, and recover the data, with payment due only upon recovery of data and acceptance by me. I went forward, and after about 3-4 more days, they showed me a file structure confirming recovery of all of the data. Secure Data put the data on a new drive and shipped it back to me along with the original drive for about $1,000, all said and done. Although the price was a little high (my only complaint), the service was excellent, and I retrieved all of the lost data. The whole process took about two weeks from start to finish. (They provided faster service for a higher fee.)All and all, if you have a hard drive that has serious problems, then Id recommend Secure Data. If youre not sure how bad the issue is, you might try a lower-cost, non-invasive solution first, then use Secure Data if that fails. But if your repair shop says they need to take the drive apart and reconstruct it, Id use Secure Data instead, as it has certified clean rooms that ensure no contamination in the event the drive needs to be reconstructed. This is a much safer approach and well worth the money if you have valuable data that needs retrieval.

My only fault would be the initial stages of getting in contact with a rep. But once I was finally connected to Alec, the process quickly improved. My kind wife dropped off my dead hard drive and she was told that I would be receiving a phone call the next day. This was a great experience from start to finish. I had two hard drives to recover; pictures, documents, spreadsheets, videos, etc. There were thousands of files that I thought would be lost forever. I contacted a few data recovery companies, but was not convinced that they were the right choice for me. When I called Secure Data Recovery Services, they asked all the right questions and assured me that they would recover all the data possible. Throughout the process, a Data Recovery Specialist kept me updated on progress by phone and e-mail. Additionally, their website always had the latest information about the status of the hard drives. I then received a phone call from the Specialist informing me that the process was complete. The data recovery was very successful. Only three minor files were unrecoverable. The call was followed up by an e-mail with attached documents listing the files recovered; their file name, type of file and file size. There was also the short list of the three files that were unrecoverable. I was truly amazed. My external hard drive decided to take a D. The power button broke. When i took it to the Geek Squad they said they could transfer the files to another external hard drive. Then they called me and told me that none of my information came up and that they think that my external drive has been magnetized and wiped of information. I was very impressed with customer service and their secrecy. When my 3TB HD crashed with content from multiple clients I feared the worst. The hard drive on our home computer crashed, so I researched companies that could help get it back. Secure Data Recovery had the highest reviews on Yelp and several other websites, so I gave them a try. Although their headquarters is in LA, and the cleanroom where my hard drive ended up was in Ohio, they have an office in San Francisco near my home in Oakland, so I was able to drop the drive off the same day, which saved a little time and shipping costs. Reached out to the company to see about recovering an eight-year-old hard drive that had recently failed. This was a personal computer drive and I wasnt good about backing up the data - so many photos, my music library and other personal items were lost. I contacted Secure Data Recovery regarding media recovery of a personal computer that no longer functioned due to expansion and deformation of an old battery. The data I wanted recovered was primarily old photos and other similar media…nothing of huge importance, but things that I just really couldn’t bear to lose forever if there was any way I could recover it.Scott [Moses] contacted me via telephone following my inquiry and was very clear in explaining that it could cost as little as ~$475, but depending on the device and recovery methods needed, it may be more.Getting my laptop to them was super simple and surprisingly painless! A few days later Scott again contacted me and let me know that it would cost over $1000 to recover my data (not including return shipping and media storage device costs). I sadly explained to him that this was an amount of money that I was just not prepared to pay and I came to terms with never seeing some of those photos again.Scott replied and asked what my budget was. I told him I just couldn’t do it, but he persisted! I explained to him that I was mentally prepared to pay around $500 but I just couldn’t do much more than that. He said that he could work with me and his team to find a way to get the recovery done in off-peak hours. It would take longer, but it would cost much less money.I agreed, and just a couple weeks later, he had given me a tracking number and my package arrived the next day. As they always say you get what you pay for and this company is top notch and worth every penny. We had a drive failure on one of our servers that was provided to us by our software vendor. Come to find out that it was setup with RAID 0 (WHO DOES THAT? and no BACKUP?) and we immediately called Secure Data Recovery to see about getting the drive fixed. We paid for the Emergency Raid service and they were able to fix the drive, rebuild the RAID and recover all files except for 10 files, which werent of any importance. My mom and dad hired a company to rewire their home. The gentleman that came crossed wired their router that had a hard drive built in to it, and he knocked it over, shocking it. The hard drive contained pictures my mom had collected from distant relatives for her family history along with family history documents. Windows 10 updated spontaneously in the middle of the night and the next morning my computer was stuck in a blue screen loop. It would not boot and every single picture and video from the last 3 years was on my hard drive. We lost the data (about 8 years worth!) on one of our hard drives that our IT department was unable to recover, and ultimately sent it out to Secure Data Recovery. I work for a non-profit organization, so budget was a key issue for us. On top of this, we have strict rules regarding our budget cycle, which required the work being expedited, and we crossed our fingers that it would be done quickly enough to fall within our budget cycle. Not only did our representative help work within our budget, he also expedited the work, having the team work over the weekend, but told us they would forego the expedited charge if they were unable to get it done in time for our budget cycle. Ultimately the data was recovered, and they the work was done in time for us, so all was well. But they really went the extra mile to work within our particular (and somewhat oddball) situation.

Had a Thecus 7700N Pro fail. Bought an exact replacement, that one failed immediately after putting in my HDs in the same order. I had a 2TByte drive fail from a faulty powered USB hub.Basically blew that drive right up. Everything was pretty painless, filled out the web form and was contacted by Chris McM right away as my point of contact. Everything happened much quicker than I anticipated, only about 3 weeks from initial contact to having a drive with restored data in my hand (and that was without any special rush treatment). I literally received 99.99% of my data back. Only about 12 files were corrupted and even those, I pieced back together the important ones in photoshop. 163,995 files in 20,608 folders in 618.82 GB (99.99% of total files count) were recovered. Chris was on top of everything the whole process, telling me of possible costs, conditions, etc... so nothing came as an unwelcome or unpleasant surprise. Please be aware I did this online and not at the local shop (I was in Florida at the time). This recovery service is expensive and not fast - I lost applications in the process because they werent able to get an image of my Mac, just the data (files). My MacBook Pro crashed, taking with it all my data and applications (Photoshop included). I called Secure Data and they were very supportive and assured me all would be well, if they could access the data then all my files and programs would be saved. They even sent a shipping label immediately for overnight shipping and I was thrilled. Once it was assessed on their end that the data would need to be placed onto a new external hard drive, the price was very high but I needed my data back. You can track progress on the site but sometimes its not updated and you need to request an update. Expected recovery time was 4-6 weeks but my wait was much longer. After a few weeks with sometimes no update, Id call to make sure it was doing okay. Please note I did receive my data but it took longer than expected and follow-up was terrible. Most occasions I had to call to ask for updates. On top of that, the fancy external hard drive I was given by Secure Data (with my recovered Mac data on it) crashed a few weeks into me using it and had to again be sent out for repairs which also took a very long time with barely any follow-up. This expensive procedure didnt feel worth the wait or the lack of concern from the Secure Data crew I worked with. Im glad I have most of my files back, sad that I lost Photoshop CS6, but mostly just frustrated with the whole process.

I dropped a LaCie hard drive and it stopped working. I brought it directly to Secure Data the next day. The office was very professional and they did an intake like if you went to the doctor. They assessed it for free, and explained in technical terms what was wrong. Chris was my case manager and he was very patient with my questions. It was quite expensive (over $1000), though they let me pay it off over a longer time (the original quote was even more, but since i was willing to wait weeks or months, they were able to accommodate a pricing shift). I did have to purchase my own replacement hard drive for them to put the files onto. The first time I went to go pick it up, all of my files were there--except for the time machine backup of my old computer, which was the main thing i needed. They re-ran the entire thing at no additional cost, and when I returned, the files were restored, including the backup. I seem to have gotten everything back-- journal entries (word files), music compositions (garageband), scans of discarded memorabilia (.pdf files), and photo and video files. I cant figure out how to access my old imovie projects but all of the original components and exported files are there. If it was your stupid mistake to drop your hard drive in the first place (as in my case), its worth the cost to get back files you cant bear to lose. Also i have a cool pen with a stylus in it now as a souvenir.

My hard drive crashed and after two computer techs looked at my computer, it was determined that my data was unrecoverable by either of them. Mitchell Moore was my rep, and he was completely professional at all times.Recovery took less time than I anticipated; the price was smack in the middle of the range I was quoted, and they explained exactly why it cost more than the minimum price. I was kept up-to-date during the process, and the updates were easy to understand as well as timely.I was extremely pleased with the service, with only two tiny quibbles (and I emphasize that these are very tiny quibbles). First, the recovered data was stored on the replacement drive I shipped them as an NTFS (Windows) file system, and the original drive was Linux ext4. Modern linux systems can of course read NTFS perfectly well, but if I had had any very long file names on the original or file names that differed only by case, there would have been problems. As it happens, that was not the situation, but I do think the recovered data should have been the same as what I sent in.Second, I had to pay return shipping on the drive with recovered data. As I dropped off the damaged drive and the replacement locally, I think they could have used the same process to return those drives to me.Again, let me emphasize: these are very minor niggles. I was and remain extremely happy with the whole episode; I gave five stars without reservation.Finally, not only would I use this service again if necessary, I would recommend it to friends. However, I hope very much not to need it, and that my friends wont need it either. I am now backing up every day as opposed to once a month or two. Which is what I am telling my friends.

I phoned your company in a great state of panic when my computer would not come up, and was fortunate enough to get Mitchell Moore on the other end of the line. He was very calm and reassuring that he would do everything possible to assist me in recovering the data from my computer. He was wonderful and very thoughtful of my frantic state and walked me though each step of the process. I was very thankful to have someone that knew his business and was very diligent in his efforts to have my data retrieved and returned to me in a timely manner. I cannot express the sheer terror I felt after the 4th attempt to restart my PC, and seeing the same error message appear. My frequent travel over the past 3 years with my laptop has been my excuse for not backing up regularly. I have now learned the hardest lesson...life experience has a way of teaching us things mere words and advice cannot...At first I purchased top 10 ranked software to attempt my own recovery which failed and furthur warned me not to continue, as further reading of the hard drive may damage the data further. And it was prudent not to proceed, because they ended up having to open my hard drive in the clean room apparently.I turned to Secure Data Recovery and they saved my data from distruction. They have been very professional from the first call to the final email to say they will be deleting my personal data after I confirmed all my data is safe and sound. I have since copied it to another hard drive.Although this was a costly expense, getting my data back was worth every cent to me. SDRS recovered what appears to be almost 100% of my data and gave me a directory list of the programs I had installed. I have tested many of my files and they open without problems.I also had an encrypted partition that they managed to restore to my great relief which had hundreds of family photos on. Years worth of bookmark files, music files and playlists, and everything precious to me was restored.They charged me exactly what was quoted for which I was thankful for, as many companies lack integrity these days and bait and switch occurs.I am writing this review, because it was from professional websites, top 10 recovery services reviews, and from other peoples reviews on Yelp that lead me to them.They are worth the money I spent. Kim provided great communication regarding the data recovery efforts and that aspect of their service is 5 star. Unfortunately, some of my data was not recoverable, and double unfortunately, the more important files seem to be the ones not recovered. Still have many files to go through. I lost two hard drives to corruption simultaneously a few weeks ago. One held my entire library of 37,121 photos that spanned 50 years. Included were scans of a thousand or more color slides and B&W photos dating back to the late 1800s. The other drive contained the only backup of that same library.In desperation, I turned to Secure Data and they were able to recover all but two files.
