Had a wonderful stay here which made me remember why I loved everything about living in SC, I used to live a few blocks away for half a decade . The staff here is very friendly - everyone I met on site went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.The location is unbelievable and the rooms are updated and cute !Looking forward to coming back in the next week or two and staying in a different room on a higher floor (I’m super sensitive to sound as is my service dog so that was the only thing I would have changed if we had stayed for more than one night) - thank you ❣️

Not much more one can ask. Place is ideal, huge oceanfront balcony cant be beat. Rooms were clean, nicely equipped kitchen, just an ideal environment where you really dont care to leave your room much.. Reception staff fantastic!Not fault of the hotel, but you do need to close front doors & windows @ night unless you want to jump up in middle of the night from train sounds. You have the back windows & a/c to choose from instead. One recommendation to hotel staff is to ask the room cleaners & otherwise to lower down their walkie talkies & be mindful when passing by guest bedrooms, I wasnt happy being awakened by them & not being able to sleep again because of it. The cleaners are super loud & have their walkie talkies blasted to max volume. Plz fix this problem! Look forward to our next trip with my girls!

My sister and I spent an early Christmas at Seahorse Inn and it was absolutely amazing! We had A 2 bedroom suite and it was perfect with a beautiful view of the ocean! It had everything we needed. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The local restaurants were fantastic and local shopping was great! We are looking forward to our next holiday at the Seahorse! This will definitely be a tradition!!

Scheduled a stay with my wife, which we’d done before. Had a change of plans and couldn’t make it, tried to reschedule, but was told we’d already passed the 7-day deadline prior to our visit. We still had 3 days until we were scheduled. I asked if I could just postpone 2 weeks, they could keep the money, we just couldn’t make it. They refused. We used to call it our getaway spot for visits, but no more. The rooms are ok, the location is amazing, the service short sighted. I used to refer friends to here, no more.

Loved everything about this quaint Inn...by the sea. Right by the water, and many restaurants, coffee shops, and more so close. The management, running the Inn, were very kind. Our rooms were in perfect condition, upon check in. Also, very well appointed. Enjoyed our relaxing stay, and will definitely stay again!

We had a two bed apt, one street back from the coast. Fantastic apt, great balcony with great view. The train is always going to be a possible issue on the front at San Clemente, but being a row back with bedrooms at the back of the apt it was no issue at all. Pricey but great. Only issue we had was WiFi going down, a small inconvenience.

What a great place! Rooms are remodeled, very cute, and clean. Amazing views. Location, location, location!! Walk downstairs to coffee shops, market, pier, and beach. Swimming area across the street. Watch surfers and people watch from a great balcony, which is a nice size. The SC trolley stops right across the street. The trolley is free and will take you to downtown to do some shopping and restaurants. It also goes to the SC outlets. You can bring your dog here. It was a great place and I highly recommend it.

Our large family stayed in 3 of the units at Sea Horse Resort for 2 nights in March 2023 before going on a cruise out of Long Beach. We found the accommodations to be exactly what we were hoping for. The views from 2 of the units were spectacular, the units were spacious, the finishes were high quality, and everything was clean. Although parking was tight, we had parking spaces within just a few steps from our doors. We enjoyed going to the nearby restaurants, walking on the pier, and spending a few hours on the beach... all without having to drive anywhere. San Clemente is definitely a charming place to spend a few days.

I was anxious when I booked the room. I called the hotel on the day of arrival so I couldn’t see the picture of the room. But It turned out to be one of the best experiences. It’s not a resort- I wish they have a pool or hot tub (that’s why I didn’t give 5 stars). But everything else was perfect. The location can’t be better. There were small grocery and good coffee shops. It’s walking distance to the pier restaurant and the beautiful beach trail. My room has “limited ocean view” and no balcony, but I could still see the beach and the pier from the big living window. The unit is huge for one person. It’s well equipped and very clean. Bathroom looked new to me. I appreciate the strong Wifi since I had to work sometimes during my stay. Parking was included and I was able to park my car right below my unit. Overall totally enjoyed my stay at the Sea Horse.

Love this place and love returning. Excellent location. They may need some new mattresses and the bathrooms need some updating/more shelf space and counter space would be great. The room overall is spacious. We LOVE IT here. Maybe just a little updating in the bathroom. Comfortable pillows and great staff. Great restaurants and little shops.

This is our first time staying at the Seahorse Resort. We didn’t know what to expect. But we are totally pleased with it! We are staying in the Pacific Room. The only down side is the bathroom. It’s small. But other than that, the views are spectacular. You’re close to the pier and the restaurants. I’m sure the sunsets are beautiful to watch from here. We’re here in October so it’s drizzling today. We will definitely come back in the future. This is a place to consider when your looking for a place to vacation in San Clemente. 🙌🏼

If I could do 0 stars I would. My mother booked a room for us accidentally on the wrong dates. We did not show up, they did not call us, they did not email, they did not reach out in any way. They lied and said they did. She was told she would get a refund. We showed up on thanksgiving without a place to stay after driving 10 hours. We were charged for the room. We were told we would be charged for a cancellation fee. Instead we were charged over 1,000$ The people here are scammy and not helpful at all. Luckily we found an air BNB on the same street and the host was great. Better views cleaner and much nicer than this scammy greedy hotel. Would not stay at this hotel ever again. NOT RECOMMEND!

What a place! Great service amazing views, just fantastic for a getaway. There’s shops and restaurants on the boardwalk and down the street. Nothing but fresh open air and relaxing vibes. There’s a zen garden to enjoy coffee in the morning ( or afternoon). The front office has all the amenities you need for a day at the beach. If your ever in San C, try this place!

If your going to stay on the beach, this is the place! Went for broke and got the Penthouse, totally worth it. Two decks looking out to the ocean. Two bedrooms, the master has its own bathroom, shower and deck! Amazing view! So close to food and the beach. Such a fabulous place! The staff are helpful and courteous. Thank you for everything! Overall extremely pleased with the quality, price and most of all customer service. Front Studio ocean view room was perfect for our family to enjoy a nice weekend meeting friends and family. We arrived late (around midnight) which they made accommodations for us ensuring we had a parking spot close by our room, they had the heat and overall room fully prepared with lights on and very easy after a very long drive. Everyone here has been an absolute delight and very welcoming. They also have a fantastic lounge area with lots of room to lay out, look at the sunrise and sunset. We enjoyed that several times the past few days. We definitely are coming back here as we had an amazing time during our stay.

Five star views, Three star amenities. We had a great time in the penthouse. The airflow and beach sounds at night were majestic. With direct views of the sunset and waves, the double patios and two bedrooms were perfect for our two couples and two babies. Few notes: no oven, and trains! If you don’t mind freight train horns at 11PM you’ll be fine.

We stayed at the Sea Horse Rosort for our honeymoon back in 2018! Amazing beach view and easy access to the pier/beach. I wish there was assigned parking spaces because at the end of the night we would end up getting the worst and tiny parking spot in the front. The room itself can have some improvements, specially the bathroom. Not a big room but the view is AMAZING and romantic!

Not luxury accomodations by any means, and the rooms could use some updating and definitely some insulation as we heard everything our neighbors said through the wall. The bright spot is that the location is incredible and the price is reasonable for what you get. We stayed at Seahorse for a great view, to be close to the beach, and to not empty our wallets completely in doing so. Dillon/Dylan in the office was super friendly and made the experience a pleasant one. Highly recommend.

Stayed 4 nights during Thanksgiving week. Fantastic location, unbelievable sunset view, and incredible value for the proximity to the water. Had a room on the first floor with a deck overlooking the pier, and friends had a room on the second floor with large picture widows overlooking the water. Highly recommend!

First is a good location we have the suite #4 own space parking and from beach view, is updated and comfy but theres is few things to improve, even with ceiling fans and extra floor fan, was hot, we try to let the door open but advice a lot of mosquitoes and lot of noise of downstairs restaurants loud music and cero private from the deck, everyone from the the restaurants table can see you, so advice is not A/C, second is cleaning, with the Covid19 should be a priority, but as you can see in the pictures I found nasty toilet with yellow stain and dirty fridge, I made inspection before my family get in specially my kids, lucky me have disinfectant, the exhaust fan in the bathroom does not work and it was dirty, also the floor is very nice but the carpets are not necessary, they smell bad and they are not clean, otherwise everything just nee to improve with ac, and cleaning !!! and please will let you choose the suite online or the room to go more securely with what we are paying for.

I stayed here for a few nights with a friend of mine. I flew out to do some busniess consulting. We got an upgrade and were on the second floor. It was a two bedroom condo overlooking the water. What a great find. I would definitely go back. Great beach access and restaurants in walking distance. It was scary on the second day there was a shark sighting just before i was going to go into the water. Yikes! Great place i highly recommend.

Location is superb. No room heating/cooling controls. Walls are thin and noise from other rooms is an issue. No ice machine so youve got to walk to a store. No freezer in our room so the bag of ice was only good for one night. Shower just ok. Room layout strange. Not worth the money.

We love the pier but definitely would stay elsewhere. The furniture, including bed, were uncomfortable. Bathroom was not clean. Told them we were celebrating our anniversary.....went without notice. Checked in as a couple and they gave us ONE coupon for A cup of coffee.....really?! Never will go back and would never recommend to anyone. With the price they ask.....stay somewhere else.

Great value for a beach view room with a parking spot in this area. They have a great sitting area outside, and easy access to the beach and pier. Also beach towels, chairs and umbrellas to use. Rooms are somewhat weathered but meet expectations for the price.

The good - nice view of the beach I spite of being 2 streets back. The rooms were older but clean and the beds comfortable.The bad - hard to find the room - in a different location from the office and the directions were not clear.NO free wifi. I was on the phone with tech support for 45 minutes trying to resolve the problem. Also spoke to desk manager. No on could figure out why it wasnt working. Why was I the one on the phone trying to solve the problem instead of them?Only had one key to the room - the previous guests took the keys home - that made us uncomfortable knowing a stranger had keys to our room- so we asked to keep the key in the lockbox attached to the door and they agreed but then they came later and took the lockbox and the key and we were locked out - soaking wet and sandy after an afternoon at the beach.

Older building in good condition across the street from the pier and beach. Fantastic view from lots of windows. Our two bedroom was complete with a full kitchen, two baths, free wifi internet, beach chairs, towels and toys. Unpretentious and a bit worn, but a great deal because of the fantastic location within easy walking distance to everything. NOT a high end property, no staff running to carry your bags here! ( I like that) Amtrak and Metrolink trains stop here and make a lot of noise, but so does the ocean.

I tried to book the one bedroom suite that includes a bed and sofa bed, the lady at the front desk tells me she can’t accommodate us in that room because it’s only for 2 people. I tell her my baby sleeps on the bed with us and my toddler could use the sofa bed . She insist she cannot allow us to stay. Rude customer service that was not willing to accommodate us.

These people have no heart. I had to cancel my reservation two days after their required 14 day penalty-free cancellation date because my husband had to have emergency surgery and we could not travel. Even with 12 days notice of the cancellation they refused to work with me on the charges and eventually charged me over $1600.00 for rooms we were unable to check into. I suppose I could be grateful, since they originally tried to gouge me for over $2800.00. I would not recommend booking here as they are inflexible and dont seem to care much about their guests. A further inquiry where I provided proof from a doctor that we were unable to travel went completely without response. Overall a very disheartening and disappointing experience.

We rented our two rooms from July 2nd to July 5th. for over $3000. All was going well until around 10:45pm July 4th after the pier fireworks show was over. A man opened our entry door and started walking toward our room. I jumped up and he said he must be in the wrong room. I told him yes and to get out right away. I then walked back into my room locking the door behind me. Soon there was loud banging on my door and yelling from that same man who was very drunk. He screamed at us to get out of his room that he paid so much money for and he was coming in. He continued to push and bang the door. We looked for an emergency number to call the office but they close at 9pm and no number listed in the rooms. We called 911. The man would go away for a few minutes and then come back and start banging on our door. My 12 year old granddaughter was terribly frightened as were we while the man continued to try to break into our room. We kept waiting for the police to arrive. 15 minutes later the police arrived to handle the problem. We went back to our room and put a chair under the entry door that did not have a lock on it. Several minutes later another bang on the door and this time it was the manager. He was very annoyed that we had locked the entry door, introduced himself as the manager, looked upset that the police had to call him to the resort and then left. We had a hard time sleeping thru the night afraid the man would come again. The next morning we turned in the keys at 11am and left for home. The owner or manager in the office never came to our room in the morning to check on us. Never even called us. The night of the incident the manager didnt offer to transfer us to another room in order to make us feel safe, nothing! On Tuesday the 7th I emailed the Seahorse Resort telling them about the incident and asking why no one was concerned enough to even call us after. Of course the manager said they were concerned and knew about the man trying to break in and said they patrolled the resort and our room all that night to keep us safe. She added that she WAS going to talk to us in the morning but because we checked out early she left it alone. Now dont you think if she was concerned she would have CALLED us? She had our phone number. Dont you think if she was concerned about us the night of the incident that she would have TOLD us they would stay up all night and patrol around the resort and our room to keep us safe? None of that happened. I asked her for a refund for that night for both rooms. She would not acknowledge my request at all but continued to tell me they made us safe! If you want to feel secure while staying at the resort.... DONT stay there!!

These people probably dont care about your safety. I work for an FDA registered facility that manufactures hand sanitizer. We are a local company and a part of the same community as this hotel. I recently called them during the Covid19 crisis to see if they were in need of any sanitizers that could benefit their guest and themselves but whoever answered the phone was not having a great time. He immediately cut me off and hung up the phone. Maybe they already had some sanitizers or maybe theyre just not a clean place. Steer clear of them or youll catch the rona.

Smoking on the balcony is a no... they called once never came and knocked on the door... but definitely charged my card a extra 300.00 for for 3 days I wound up paying 700.00 we never smoked in the room, the bathrooms are tiny and the rooms are cold with no central heat and air and the female staff there are very rude

Great location but the room was in the back in the alley.Clicked on the reserve tonight button and when we arrived was told by the indignant clerk the reservation was for the following night and charged 100 Dallars more .300 dollars a night can buy a lot nicer rooms in this area.Not a resort by any means.Just a dated apt turned hotel.30 dollars extra for a camping cott.It used to be more reasonable but wouldnt stay again for these rates.

The owner welcomed us (me and my little dog) with great class in a magnificent spirit of trust and security! The view from our room of the Pier, the sunset and the surf is quite exceptional. The cleanliness is impeccable in all the rooms, very spacious and bright thanks to the numerous bay windows. A day bed has even been installed in the living room facing the sea. There is also a balcony furnished with chairs and tables to once again appreciate the view which is priceless... Bravo Sea Horse Resort!!!

We stayed in this very good hotel in March 2017. Sea view room, a dream. Sit on the balcony in the evening, with a glass of wine in your hand and enjoy the sunset. This is vacation. Dear hotel owners, we will be coming back to the Sea horse Resort in July 2019.
