Very few independent shops left. Sav-On is one of the good ones, staffed by people who enjoy the lifestyle and truly enjoy fishing and taking care of customers. Avoid places like Wal Mart as much as possible. Once stores like this are gone, they’re never coming back. Swing by and give as much business to them as possible!

Great personal working there but not every day they are an a good mood I like to come this store to buy something special for my husband, I dont I dont know nothing about fishing but I just buy shirts or caps they have good sale prices ., too many of stuff different brands., my husband favorite store . I read some reviews of people complain when the staff helping sometimes have a bad attitude when asking questions ., I think nobody born knowing fusing ., dont have to be rude .

Didn’t go but spoke with them. The guy I spoke with was great and informative but wanted me to speak with the manager on Tuesday as I was gonna order a ton of stuff for 4 people and wanted them to set me up as I live out of state.Well I left my info and never got a call back from the manager. Didn’t really expect it but still bugs me so I will go elsewhere. That being said I still am giving them 4 stars as the guy was good.

Best tackle shop, I have been into. Been going here for a couple years already. Never have to worry about not getting the best price. Never have to worry about not getting your questions answered. They have so much selection here, you never have to settle on 1 or 2, picks since there is always an abundance.The best is the owner, she is freaking awesome. Always hooking people up when larger purchases are made. Always feel taken care of whenever I leave that place.

After a five year hiatus of projects and confinement it was a pleasure to fine San-On Tackle is still the best fishing supply store, license purchase, and instructional reminders location and staff in the area. Easy to get to from anywhere. Honest, quality, helpful, and everything you could ever need. If you fish, talk to these people before you go. Trout or tuna, no one know more.

I love this place, and I don’t even fish! Seems like they have pretty much anything tackle related that you could ask for. I came here to buy some particular size cable crimps for a project because I couldn’t find them anywhere else. These guys are very friendly and helpful. The shelves are loaded with stuff.

Decent selection with knowledgeable staff. A real guys place, complete with swearing and loud laughter. Prices are WAY too high for some things; I saved over $70 buying my reel from Amazon. Limited selection of rods if you know exactly what youre looking for, but its a great place to get outfitted if youre not picky. Nonetheless, I love this place.

So glad I randomly called yesterday to see if they had the new Penn Fathom II in chrome! Guy that answered affirmed that they did, and also advised me to come today for their Anniversary sale…scored 20% off a Fathom2 30LD, and 20% off a Calcutta roller tackle bag!! Guys were very helpful and steered me to the better option for a 40lb tuna rig…broke my “fishy” bank and going back to see about a 60-80lb reel🤣

Great place to shop i went in today and was greeted by a young kid that told me he was 14 and he was just a pleasure to work with since he didnt pressure us into buying anything and asked us what our budget was which was great. He also didnt try to rip us off by selling us something really expensive he actually tried to save us money which was just great. Well all in all it was a great experience working with this kid he was also very knowledgeable about both fresh and saltwater and actually showed my husband a lot about freshwater as he mixes his experiences with fresh to help us explain the saltwater fishing. Thanks to that kid we will be back

I have been coming here for over 30 years but have recently decided not to do business with them anymore. Used to always get great info and great customer service but not anymore. Lots of new employees without much experience, also slow to help. The guy I could always count on ( I think his name was Rodger ) to solve any fishing issue i had is no longer there. All in all sad to say i have taken my building elsewhere.

Been there a few times from Fontana and the Shop is like a fishing toysRus for men! One of my go to local places for all tackle, fresh or saltwater. Off the 605 and telegraph, helpful staff, not too crowded any given day, decent prices and huge selection of pretty much anything you need. They do the usual things, spool reels, answer questions, I think they fix poles too. Anyway, overall a good shop to kill a few hours of time.

Went in to buy a rod and reel to update my fishing gear, was trying to get some knowledge base, spoke to T super awesome guy super knowledgeable about fishing, asked me what I fished fresh or saltwater and got me headed in the right direction got the proper setup with the right gear. “ T” knew right away what I needed and what was an over kill and didn’t over sell anything, showed me a few gear and steered me in the right direction, for tackle shop to survive just like any other business key people employees like “T” is very crucial in today’s market. Everyone is an online shopper but it was nice to have some like “T” to take the time and explain what the correct outfit for my needs was, appreciate the customer service and attention to detail and customer concerns very much. Simply put he ”LISTENED” and showed me what I needed. This will be my go to shop for my fishing gear….,

I will never have this shop service my reels again. First time i dropped off a reel they had it for a couple weeks then lost the reel. Second time I dropped off a couple more and they had them for 2 months and I called every week to see what the deal was and they never wanted to give me a clear answer or reason why my reels were just sitting there untouched. Once i finally went in there and complained about it they grabbed them and “finished” them in a couple days but one reel has all the same problems as it did before I dropped it off and i havent had the chance to see if they even touched the other one in the 2 months they had it . So overall don’t waste your time and money getting your reels serviced here because you will either be paying them to lose your reel or not fix it.

Finally found a great tackle shop to go to, me and a friend towed a boat in to Long Beach shoreline marina, where our boat is located, and met a few great fishermen, and was told of this place to go to for tackle and rods etc. and I went and sure enough I was blown away, I drive from Long Beach to go here and well worth the traffic and the drive here, I always find what I need when I need it, been to other tackle shops I wont mention in Long Beach that dont have what I need most of the time, but save-on tackle is the best and great prices and open on Sundays too..friendly staff there and very helpful, and awesome shop and has great hard to find stuff you wont find any other place, save-on has it all...
