Hands-down had one of the best car buying experiences in my 23 years of driving at this location. Such a knowledgeable staff, and amazing sales team. My new 2024 Toyota Corolla across is absolutely phenomenal and I would recommend this location to anybody if you want to have a very easy, comfortable, no-hassle and informative buying experience.

Highly recommend !! I came all the way from Vegas to get a car of my dreams! I worked with Ryan, Ron, Robin, Susan and Daniel. Each one of them had a special part to play when it came to finding the perfect price for my specific car. I am so extremely thankful for all of them. They made sure each step was explained in great detail. I never felt pressed to add extra options onto the price tag and kept the price just right for what I was looking for. I highly recommend and will continue to do business with them. Ryan took the time to set up the red carpet experience and explain the Toyota app and all the car’s features to myself and my mother, which was very kind and helpful as well as checked in the next day. Again, I will be doing more business in the future with this great crew!! My roommate said he’ll be reaching out when he’s ready to buy!

Loved my experience at this dealership. Alex and Otto were so amazing and so patient with me. They were able to make the process fast and easy by going over and signing the documents ahead of time, so all I had to do was pay and pick up my car at the dealership! Ronnie and Alex were amazing! I came in looking for a very specific model and color of a ‘24 Corolla hatchback. They only had white and I didn’t want that so I was going to go elsewhere but they did a dealer trade and drove multiple hours to bring me the exact car I wanted. I am so happy with both my car and level of service I got. It was exactly what I wanted and they put in so much work to find it for me. Super grateful and so thankful!Their sales approach is also very no pressure which made the whole experience very comfortable. Everyone there so friendly and helpful. We have purchased more than a half a dozen of cars in our lifetime and our experience at Santa Margarita Toyota was the best we have encountered. We loved that they post the best and lowest price on the window along with no extra dealer add-ons or surprises. First time we have ever experienced not having to negotiate price and having a sales rep and fleet manager care more about us being happy about our purchase than trying to get us the pay more. We will def be returning to purchase our second vehicle when our second truck is ready to be replaced.

I had a great experience purchasing my 2024 RAV4 Hybrid XSE with this dealership. I searched every dealer in SoCal for this exact car with the exact color and all the options it had and they were the only dealer in SoCal who had it with NO MARKUPS (actually, I got about a $1k discount off MSRP!). While I did have to wait a bit for the car to get to the dealership as it was in build phase/in transit when I found it on their website, salesman Wade was super helpful and kept me informed, answered all my questions courteously and with proper transparency and didnt try to bait and switch me like Autonation Toyota Irvine did about a month before. He and his team treated me with respect and didnt try to pressure me into purchasing anything I didnt want or wasnt satisfied with. Honestly I couldnt have asked for a better experience purchasing the exact RAV4 I searched all of SoCal for and Id definitely go to them again and ask for Wades help, and Im going to recommend him and Santa Margarita Toyota to friends/family/others as well. My initial visit was to trial the Toyota RAV4 and inquire about financing the model shown online several days ago. I was warmly greeted by salesperson Quade Daniel’s, who was not only personable but also very knowledgeable in the subject matter. Quade indicated that the vehicle I was looking for was sold a day ago. Nonetheless he showed us several other models including the RAV 4 Prime, HybridHe had financials prepared for two models and a financial prepared for a lease option.At the end of the day, my wife and I decided on leasing the Hybrid Prime after a test drive. Excellent service in a well organized facility . All personnel were helpful and knowledgable. The waiting area is pleasant and the coffee is hot and plentiful. I was there for routine service and a factory mandated inspection as well as to get instruction on some of the electronic interior controls. This has been the most efficient and probably the best dealership experience my partner and I have had. Both Sanders (sales) and Aaron (financing) were very very helpful and made the process as quick and easy as possible. I called in the morning to do an inventory check of the car I wanted and Sanders made sure the car is ready for us to check out right when we got there!! We were greeted right away upon arrival mid afternoon and were able to drive test the car literally within a minute. Both explained about the car/financing thoroughly and answered all the questions we had confidently. Aaron made it very easy for us to understand the financing terms and the additional services we opted in for. He even went above and beyond by making some further calls and lowered our interest rate by 3%!!! If you’re looking for a quick, honest, fun, and extremely transparent transaction, this is the place to be! The whole experience only took about 2 hours (arrived 2:30 and left around 4:45) and we were on our way out with our new car. Highly recommend and definitely would go back in the future!

Many would agree that one of the most disheartening experiences as a consumer is being misled for someone elses gain. This tactic, regrettably, is not new, especially within the car sales industry. Historically, the stigma surrounding car salespeople stems from decades of questionable sales tactics aimed at drawing potential buyers into deals that arent as they seem. Its a shame, as not all sales professionals engage in such dubious conduct, and those who do tarnish the reputation of the entire profession.Now I drive a Tesla for my daily driver, however saw one of the new Prius Hybrids and saw they had a range of something like 500 miles (potentially ~150 mile range than my Tesla). Never owned a Toyota product so was very curious and motivated to pick up a new around town car to drive.My recent experience with Santa Margarita Toyota serves as a poignant example of this age-old issue. I received a text message indicating the availability of a new Prius Prime. Excited, I called and was assured by a salesman--not more than 30 minutes before my arrival--that two models were available and encouraged to visit the dealership promptly. Despite the rain, I packed up my son and headed to the dealership, only to find upon my arrival that both vehicles had supposedly been sold that morning.The attempt to address this misleading information with a manager only added insult to injury. Rather than acknowledging the clear miscommunication or attempting to rectify the situation, the manager chose to deflect and minimize the issue, even criticizing my choice of words in the heat of the moment, rather than addressing the root of my frustration.This situation exemplifies the very deceit and lack of integrity that perpetuates the negative stereotypes associated with car salespeople. The misleading behavior of the salesperson and the subsequent dismissal by the dealerships management not only wasted my time but also showcased a profound disrespect for potential customers. Such actions beg the question: if a dealership is willing to mislead customers to get them onto their lot, what level of honesty and service can one expect moving forward?In legal terms, this practice could be seen as a form of bait and switch, a deceptive tactic where a seller advertises an attractive offer that is not genuinely available to consumers but uses it to bait them into other purchases. While not accusing Santa Margarita Toyota of this specific legal infraction, the parallels in deceptive intent and the misuse of customer trust are glaringly apparent.Wrapping things up, my experience at Santa Margarita Toyota was not just disappointing but deeply unsettling. It serves as a stark reminder of the importance of integrity in business dealings and the long way the car sales industry still has to go in eradicating deceptive practices. First, the RAV4 my wife bought a couple of years ago is fantastic and the service we got while we were in the area was excellent as well.But the real reason for this review is to acknowledge this dealership for their apparent allegiance to veteran servicemen- specifically ex-Marines. I am a former Marine and had the pleasure of meeting two who helped us purchase our car. The salesman’s name escapes me and the Credit Manager Oscar were both very professional and knowledgeable. I got to speak with Oscar a little more in depth and discovered that he had done two separate tours in Afghanistan before opting for a life as a civilian.Both of these guys are heroes to me. On D-Day, their service to our country and democracy are especially meaningful today. Santa Margarita Toyota should be commended for embracing our veterans.

I am usually not one to leave a poor rating. But, I went in for my 25,000 mile service and I waited around 15-25 minutes before I could be checked in for service. I had 3 people from the dealership ask if I had been helped and walked away saying they would go get someone. The dealership was a ghost town and figured I would receive a very quick check in time. Many of the service advisors were standing around, talking and ignoring me. I have been a loyal customer of Toyota for about 7 years and I never had this happen to me.

This is simply the best car buying experience I’ve ever had in 41 years of my life. Straight forward, no hidden anything. Kind staff from the sales team to the finance department all the way out the door. I truly feel taken care of and for that this review is the least I could do.Bought a BMW in the past (totally ripped me off). Stopped at Land Rover for a couple years (worst service out). This was one of many dealerships during my shopping experience for a new vehicle. Unfortunately, it was not a great experience. This was my first time buying a new car in 20 years and I had made it clear I was looking to see what was available to me on the market. When I initially reached out through the Costco Auto program, I inquired about hybrids and manual transmissions, since I wasnt sure if I wanted to stay with a manual or if I wanted to go with a more eco-friendly hybrid. I was told there are not hybrid manual transmissions (thank you, genius). Clarifying what I had meant, I was then told about several hybrid models that were available. When I inquired about test driving some of the models, I was then told there was only a Camry hybrid model available. My confidence was waning and this was before I had even stepped into the dealership. I set up an appointment to meet with someone and do some test drives and was able to try a few models out. I was told when I arrived and explained what I was looking for that there were no manual transmissions available, but we could look at the hybrids in stock. While we were looking at the cars, I was then told that there was 1 manual transmission they had on the floor that apparently all the reps I had spoken to up to this point had apparently forgotten about. It ended up being outside of my price range, but I was still able to see it and check it out and figure out if I would still be willing to finance it, but I was still a bit annoyed that it took them this look to remember it existed. When it was time to sit down and talk about numbers, the sales rep we were working with told us that his Costco Auto Program person was working on pulling up the numbers on costs for me through the Costco program and in the meantime we looked at all the specs of the cars that I had test-driven and was interested in. From here, the pressure started to build for me to pick one and drive off the lot with a new car almost immediately. There was also stalling tactics in place. When I mentioned I still had some other dealerships to check out, I was told about how they had bad reputations or how they were faulty cars, etc. I cannot express how much I hate the advertisement tactic of putting down the competition. If your product is great, advertise that. Dont put down the competition. There is no need for that. We spent a good 15-20 minutes looking at all the specs of the cars and discussing these other models, but the Costco Auto Program figures still hadnt been drawn up. The rep we were working with said he would check to see how much longer it would take and stepped away to talk to the other guy. My husband and I waited about another 10 minutes before getting up and approaching the counter to find out what was taking so long. I really just wanted to get the numbers so I could take them home and make an informed decision. It felt like I was being scoffed at by these sales reps for wanting to do this because when I mentioned how many dealerships I had been to and how many more I planned to visit, I was told, Wow, thats a lot. Yes. It is. Because cars have changed in the last 20 years since I had a new car. And I want to know whats out there. There is also a lot more tech in these cars, now, so I want to do my research. I was then told that it takes time to pull up the numbers and we hadnt given him much time (at this point, he had already had 30 minutes of us being done with test driving and they had known since the day before that Id be coming in on the Costco Auto Program wanting to know about numbers). I had asked him if it was possible to just email the numbers because my husband was very hungry at this point and we had been at this dealership for close to 2 hours. I just wanted to get the Costco pricing. When I was at the Subaru dealership, they were able to print me off the list of discounts in seconds. 2 days later and I still havent gotten those numbers, but I did get a car from a different dealership that didnt try to play games with me.

Despite some production/shipping delays in the car, I was constantly kept updated about the progress by Karen. We just got our 2nd vehicle from Santa Margarita Toyota and they never disappoint! This time Gavin F. helped us out and was super attentive, got us lots of options and really came through on making sure all of our needs were met. Needless to say we didnt have any hard negotiations or deal making since that is not how they do business but instead we got a great price and exactly the trim and options we wanted on a new 2024 Tundra! Gavin was present during the whole sale and definitely provided concierge level service. I had the worst experience a person could have at Nissan in Irvine. It turned to be a Lemon. This place is night and day. Quite the opposite of them.Everyone here is so helpful and professional! If you are looking for a dealer who is truthful and real with you, go to Sanders. He is very knowledgeable. If you have any questions about the functions in your new vehicle, go to Cherell. First time I went to this place for my Camery vehicle engine oil change. It took more than five hours to ger it done. I have never waited for such incredibly long time just for a simple engine oil change anywhere in my life so far. When I picked up my vehicle, I got very upset about the 5-hour waiting, the service manager talked to me a reason that they were busy today. He has repeated this reason since I dropped my vehicle at the beginning. So, I told him I dont want to listen to your reasons and dont treat me as a stupid person with very upset voices of mine. Today this place so-called Director called me on the phone to threaten me that saying Do not come to my place anymore if you do not respect my employees whatever I do not want to listen to your explanation of how I am running my business (I suggested how to improve such delay of engine oil change process, I believe business always needs customers feedbacks as a part of benefit to improve any kind of business bad practice). He seems no such common sense to listen to customers feedback for improvement to avoid such delay. His bossy attitude just wants me to shut off my mouth and not to complain about the incredibly delay that really hurt customer interests and caused me a big loss! Also, I scheduled the appointment a week ago that I expected it could shorten my waiting time. As a customer doesnt care about how busy you are and only care about is to accept a reasonable time to wait for a simple engine oil change to be done. I believe one start is more than I give to this Toyota dealership!!! I definitely never go back to this place for the rest of my life! Also, I told lots of people about the story, nobody said they would not be upset about the situation!!!

So, I went on a shopping spree for a 2024 RED RAV4 prime plug-in and found that they were very hard to come by. My local Toyota dealers told me that they had none coming in and there was no way to order them. I went to the internet, did a search and Santa Margarita Toyota came up with one available. I quickly called them and salesman Gavin answered. He informed me that unfortunately the one I found was already spoken for but he would put me in touch with their locator extraordinaire Karen. Been here twice and referred people but this last time was probably the last. They couldnt find my appt despite booking it online over a month ago, refused to do an oil change for an upcoming cross country trip because I wasnt due yet, despite my wanting to pay for it to avoid having to do it on the east coast when it was due and then quoted me $700-$800 for my next service but when I look on the Toyota website those services are not listed for that mileage. Then I get a phone call asking why I didnt show up for my appt?? I brought this issue up last week when I went down to the dealer to initially talk about the original issue and when my car was taken to the service area it was gone for less than 10 minutes and came back with my driver seat not being touched. As this is obviously still an issue we called back to ask about an issue with the power seats Robin interrupted rudely with I already said theres nothing we can do so its clear he doesnt want to deal with us.This is really disheartening that I was met with such hostility from someone whos been with this company for so long.

My vehicles had problems. Brand new Tacom 2023. They took my vehicle in and said 1 day. I advised them of an event I was hosting, a fund rasier for St Judes, and advised the service department of the event. Made sure my vehicle was going to be ready for that due to just how important this event was. It was to help these kids live another day. So not only did they push my truck back another day, they didnt install what I needed, they forced me to buy the part, so I can save time and make the event for the Children happen, then have my mechanic install it. The service Mamager, the Forman, is completely useless. There was a massive crack on my TCase, and he didnt even see it. It was as plain as can see. It was so easy to see, that it leads me to believe that thay didnt even inspect my vehicle properly, and they were about to give me back my vehicle, to have me drive amongst others in a vehicle that was not fixed properly. Also putting other drivers in danger due to their neglect. They dont care for their customers or the customers vehicle. They have no honor in what they do. Hes a trained professional. How can he not see the massive crack. I have photo documents of all the neglect they showed me. In the photo, its so easy to see, a 5 year old sould have seen it. Infact, at the shop, we asked my mechanics 7 year old and he pointed it out in a second. When Corporate see the photos, they ask how the hell did this guy get that position. THIS IS THE WORST DEALER FOR SERVICE ON ALL OF SOUTH OC. Go to Irvine or Capistrano. This place will do you wrong like they did to this kids with cancer, trying to fight, to live another day.Again, if they dont care for these kids, they dont care about you or your kids. They have American Flags everywhere. What they did was not only Not American, what theyre doing with those flags is wiping their butts with them due to their actions and how they conduct their business and treat their customers. What a refreshingly honest and straightforward car buying experience! I submitted an email quote request on a 2021 RAV4 Prime to about 10 different SoCal Toyota dealerships. I detailed exactly what I was looking for with options and an extended warranty, and asked for an out-the-door bottom line quote. All of them hemmed and hawed on getting me concrete numbers, and most were marking up $7-15k. This is the hottest selling Toyota out there right now, so I can understand a small market value adjustment, but $15,000? Alex got back to me with a solid quote detailing *everything*, and they were marking up only $2.5k. Santa Margaritas salespeople do NOT work on commission, and they fully detail every penny of their price right on their website. Its amazing! After emailing and texting back and forth for only a couple hours, we had completely nailed down a fantastic deal on exactly what I wanted. They gave me more than fair value on my trade-in and really took care of me. I was able to email Alex a lot of my paperwork beforehand so they were ready for me the next morning. I just want to say that this place has unfortunately been a big disappointment to say the least. I went to this location because I heard great things and expected it to be worth my time. I own an old 2012 Camry with a defective shifter and decided to go straight to Toyota RSM for a diagnostic check. I showed up early in the morning and the people were polite enough to entertain me. I shared my problem to the female staff that had assisted and was told that diagnostic check-up can be a couple of hours. 4 hours later, I received a voicemail for a call back. I returned call only to be informed that the problem has not been identified and that they had ask if I was willing to leave my car for another 4 hours for further diagnostics. Their reason at that time was that their scanning tool is unable to run and that there was a short Somewhere. Their biggest reason was that they suspect a potential problem with my aftermarket lamps and stereo which have been installed for over 3 years with no known problems until now. When I asked how much it would cost, the female staff had said an extra $500+ will potentially be added on top of my diagnostic fee. I had a strong feeling that they have not done an extensive search and so I decided to decline their proposed extension and took my car back home. I did the trouble shooting myself and found the problem was a DEAD FUSE!!! It had also affected the signaling to my brake lights which was not stated on the report and was a safety hazard that I was unaware off! Thankyou Toyota for not even trying to diagnose it manually because you gave up and decided to put the blame on the aftermarket items when this couldve been fixed if they had actually tried. Whats worse, Toyota still ended up charging me the diagnostic fee of $139.95. This felt like I was being robbed. You can check your cameras to re-confirm the tail lights and pull-up my records to see the notes on what they tried to do.

Id get text/email/voicemail every couple of days with what just landed - most of the time it wasnt close to what I wanted - like mass marketing. The couple of times they did have what I was interested in - the Smart Price went up, like $1,000s - its what they disguise as Dealer Mark up or Market Adjustment. They wont take a deposit on whats coming in - its all first come first serve. Theyd get a truck in and they TXT/EMAIL/VM the list and everyone rushes down to try and buy what they have at INFLATED prices. Sorry, I dont deal that way. I picked up my reserved ($500 refundable deposit) truck last night from Toyota Carlsbad - EXACTLY the truck/model/color/upgrades I wanted for MSRP! I showed Jim Bigelow (salesman at RSM) my invoice from Carlsbad a month ago and he said, no theyre gonna add on alarms and maintenance packages instead of just a MA. Well, they didnt JIM. Do not deal with these crooked dealers like RSM Toyota charging above MSRP because something is popular/in demand - and I cant wait till dealers like RSM Toyota go out of business from these practices.In response to Robin Edmunds PC reply - I wasnt frustrated with the low inventory level. I was frustrated with the BS pricing strategy that you call Smart Pricing or Fluid Market Adjustment. In other words when you have trucks that are not even close to my want list, the MA was $880. But when you get in the Lunar Rock or Silver I was interested in the MA went up to over $3,000 and you messaged every person on your Tacoma list creating the frenzy. So, dont play it off that it was the inventory level - it was the games that yourself, Jim Bigelow and Susan are creating. Looking forward to when manufacturers will delete dealers all together and their games and be direct to consumer.

Very nice personnel - very friendly and not a high pressure place. You can come in, ask your questions, get your answers and walk out and not feel any pressure to buy. Other dealerships I went to make me want to hide from talking to any sales person because they constantly pressure you for a sale. I did end up buying my new car here and the communications as to when the car would be here were timely and process was very pleasant.
