I’m a nursing student and my MacBook Pro screen cracked and I was unable to do any of my work! I called so many places, all telling me i’d have to pay close to $1k and wait 7-14days to get my laptop back. I called this place and Ricardo was able to get me in SAME DAY and get it back to me FIXED PERFECTLY within ONE HOUR!!!! Absolutely amazing!!! and he was so so kind, his dog is the cutest too. I HIGHLY recommend!!! My laptop is brand new!!!!! He even gave me a camera cover!!!

This isn’t a fake review for anyone bothering to read these. I took my laptop in for a simple repair and he took over a month to get it fixed due to his own negligence.The owner has a habit of petitioning Google to take down bad reviews with the argument that they are all fake/unsubstantiated. This is why he has been able to keep his rating so high. He’s commented relatively similar things on all 1 star posts.This shop is a great example of why RATINGS CAN BE DECEIVING!!! Don’t assume high ratings are equated with good service.

Didnt actually use their service, but discovered when we arrived that the best way to communicate is by text message since the owner is off and out on a call. Response was quick and in the end we decided it wasnt worth the repair. But Id recommend it just based on the responsiveness.

After spending 1/2 a day on the phone with Lenovo support I had two options: mail my Yoga to Texas where hopefully Lenovo would fix the issue (which had yet to be diagnosed), or find a local “computer guy”. I am SO glad I opted to take my computer to SBPCTech. I booked a time to bring it in and Ricardo had it diagnosed before I got back to SYV. A month later and no issues. The computer needed a new keyboard and trac pad. He ordered an original and had it repaired quickly. I would not hesitate to bring my yoga back to SBPCTech. His pricing is fair and he communicates with his clients.

I am currently a biopsych major at UCSB just barely starting finals week I have; 1 organic chemistry and 3 neuroscience finals. My laptop decided to crash on me at the start of this crazy week. I broke my MacBook Pro screen and after calling around a few places, I decided on Ricardo’s because it was the least expensive and would be serviced the quickest. I made the right call as his services could not be better! I was able to take my laptop in the same day and it was ready to be picked up a few days later. Ricardo responded immediately when I reached out for help with my laptop. I easily set up an appointment. Even thought I was very late for our appointment he made time to see me anyway. He went right to work and was able to fix the problem I was having. He is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. The nature of the issue with my laptop and how the laptop was made limited his ability to dig deeper into the issue. He also explained the limitations and possible negative repercussions should he try to take the screen off. I was grateful he knew that it could potentially make the problem worse. Fantastic experience this morning working with Ricardo to address issues with my MAC computer, problems that he deftly diagnosed and resolved. Ricardo has helped me with transferring information from one home computer to another. He did a good job transferring the material and he was both quick and efficient. He is also very easy to work with and reliable. Most recently he picked up my home hard drive and took it to his office to get rid of viruses and install a free word processing program. When a power surge hit our facility about a week and a half ago it took out our office computer and we needed it repaired and running as quickly as possible. We were stressed (and just a touch panicked) as we rely on that computer to facilitate the operations of our self-storage building.Thank goodness for Ricardo and SB PC Tech!Ricardo was able to diagnose what went wrong with our computer and what it needed for repairs. Of course, my laptop keyboard decided to break in the most inconvenient way possible, but when I brought it in to Ricardo, he immediately knew the fix for it. While we waited for the repair part to come in, he gave me an extra external keyboard to use in the meantime so I wasnt totally in the lurch, and once the part came in, he repaired it to excellent condition in a matter of hours! I have been travelling abroad on my boat for 4 years and the laptops that had been with us for that journey were having troubles - very slow to start up and close as well as other oddities. Ricardo removed many many viruses and malware items (despite the fact that I was running an antivirus software and continually updated it). He suggested a more robust protection product, which was not super expensive. He is very competent and his customer service is excellent - calling me with updates on progress, spending time with me when I picked them up to explain situation and help with installation of new antivirus software. I highly recommend him and will use him again - maybe even just for a maintenance check each time I return from abroad.

I have now taken 2 computers to Ricardo with absolutely great results. First he cleaned and restored my Vista Toshiba to factory after finding out the restoration disk was damaged. 48 HOUR TURNAROUND TIME! Thats how long it took Ricardo to fix my Lenovo laptop in which the hard drive had failed - the laptop would not load the operating system at all and was stuck on the logo screen. He diagnosed the issue and was able to order, install the original operating system, update all drivers necessary, and also install free programs that are used in daily computing activities. Ricardo provided updates while fixing the laptop easily via text message, and now within 48 hours from dropping my laptop off, Im writing this review from my fixed laptop. Ricardo instantly knew what I needed (whereas his well known competition had no idea what I was talking about), he called a company where I purchased the appropriate ports and connections that Ricardo installed to have 3 desktops and one laptop connected to two monitors, where I flip a switch to display each computer individually. He even provided us with a working PC for a cheap price so we could close our books!! Ricardo repaired a broken screen on my laptop. Nothing special there, except he had the best available price for an off warranty repair. Perhaps half what Best Buy Geeks or Dell Service would charge. I recently had a problem with my PC that neither I, nor my techy roommates could figure out. I found Ricardo online and gave him a ring. He agreed to check it out. I have a desktop and was worried about carrying it to his office with a recent shoulder dislocation...no problem.. I went to Best Buy with a failing hard drive, and they were rude, tried to get me to pay $1000 for recovery without even looking at the machine, and then tried to charge me 35$ just to use their internet to pull a file off my own machine. They _really_ upset me, so I left, without letting them touch my computer.I went to SB PC Tech instead, where I got excellent service, great price, and zero data loss. Ricardo replaced my hard drive and cloned all the data, all the files, like a boss. My machine works great now--he even helped me optimize some of the running processes so I get better system performance. Turn around was fast and I left happy. I will definitely go back to SB PC Tech. I dont think Ill ever bother with Best Buy again.

Our computer screen went black and Riccardo guided is through the possible issues on the phone and then told us he diagnoses at no charge. All the other shops wanted at least $65 up front. He evaluated the problem being the motherboard, ordered the part while I was there and replaced the day it came in. He even checked the lab top for viruses. Price was fair and even though our computer was 3 years old it was less expensive then buying and new one and saved me hours of new computer preparation. Thanks again!

Really great experience with the guys from Santa Barbara PC Tech. Extremely fair pricing and 100 per cent honest with whatever the problem may be, for example, my tablet I believed to be broken and in need of a new battery etc. Ricardo originally told me it would be 40 dollars to diagnose it, however it turned out all I needed was a charger and battery. The guys at SB PC tech ordered me in the new parts and only charged me based on that. 5 stars from me.

This guy is the real deal! My husband and I took our computers to him and he ended up saving us hundreds of dollars! I spilled water on my computer and he ended up being able to save it for me and quoted me half the amount that they would have at the Apple store. He was also honest and told us we could do some of the things we needed done on our own and showed us how to instead of taking our money. My four year-old MacBook, inexplicably, would not turn on. I called Santa Barbara PC Tech because the pandemic had closed the Apple Store. Thank God. Ricardo answered the phone and told me to stop by. Two hours later, he called me and texted me a photo of the interior of my laptop, whose motherboard had burnt out, the result of vents clogged by dust. He gave me options and pricing. I ordered a new motherboard, and had it back at the price he quoted in four days. My experience at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store in Santa Barbara has been mixed. SB PC Tech is fantastic, and if your computer is wonky for any reason call him and bring it by.

About three months ago, I had PC Tech replace the screen of my macbook pro. Paid over $600 at the time. The screen died in 3 months and I contacted PC Tech for warranty, he said, I have to pay another 600 for replacement again. I do not know how many of these Google reviews are real!! Maybe he pays others to write him positive reviews. Find somewhere that give you real warranty, not PC Tech scam!!!

The hinge on my laptop (an Asus Zenbook) was starting to break and I had already been told by two other computer repair shops that they either did not fix hinges or would have to send my laptop out of state for 3 weeks.
