Dr Shakhrokh is very professional and nice. He’s proactive with dental care which is nice since I’d rather not think about it. The staff is very nice and his dental hygienist is the best i’ve ever had. Her cleanings are thorough.The office is clean. They take many insurances but prices were not inflated if you need to pay cash.

I am extremely nervous with dentists because of an horrible nightmare experience 20 years ago. I have to say that the staff at San Marcos Dental Studio eased my anxiety!!! Tammy, you were right!!!I was very comfortable! First time ever! Thank you so much! I reluctantly tried this dental office after almost two years of not going to the dentist. The last place I went to left me never wanting to visit a dentist again. The front lady was so welcoming and friendly, my nerves went out the door when I went in. The hygienist was patient and kind when I needed you use the restroom mid visit. The dentist spoke so calmly and talked me through everything. I will absolutely be back in 6 months for my check up!!

Dr. Shahrokh and his team are very professional and kind. I’ve been going to the studio for my regular check ups for years. On two occasions I also had some gum discomfort and they were able to fit me in quickly to evaluate it for me.

I had a disappointing experience with Tammy the receptionist. Her attitude was off-putting and it seemed like she didnt enjoy her job. Tammy is unapproachable, making it difficult to ask questions or address concerns.I suggest the management work on improving customer service training to enhance the overall experiences.

My mom was visiting us from out of the US and didnt have dental insurance, she had a dental infection and Dr Babak Shahrokh was able to take her in and the procedures including cap placement after root canal was taken care of within the day. I really appreciate the thorough and quick turnaround. I will highly recommend them.

This was my first time to see Dr. Shahrokh for an emergency tooth extraction. I went in with no appointment, not expecting to be seen the same day. However, the staffs were excellent and got me in a few minutes later. Long story short, had my teeth extracted painlessly. I’m very happy with the service and he’s now my regular dentist going forward. Thanks to San Marcos Dental Studio and all the staffs for helping me through a painful time.

I love Dr. Shahrokh and his team. I’ve been coming to the San Marcos office for years and have always had a lovely experience from the moment I walk in until the moment I walk out. I don’t have dental insurance, so I pay out of pocket for everything, and I must say his prices are super reasonable for cleanings. I haven’t had to have any major work done, but I’m sure if and when I do, they’ll take good care of me. If you’re looking for professionalism and kindness, do yourself a favor and give Dr. Shahrokh and his team a go. They’re wonderful and Dr. S will be my dentist for life.

I Went to San Marcos Dental Studio for emergency tooth pain. The front end staff was kind, thoughtful, and efficient.I was seen to in a timely manner.I was impressed by the state of art faculty.DR Shahrokh. Was a real pleasure. I absolutely love the dentist at San Marcos dental Studios. And, I can’t say enough good things about their staff! They’re so wonderful, accommodating and caring. Management has gone above and beyond to help me join a dental plan that enables me to afford my dental needs. My last visit was free because of their financial program.Like many, I believe going to the dentist is scary. Because of this dentists kindness and patience, I no longer have fear. Okay, I had not gone to the dentist in 10 years before I came to San Marcos Dental Studio. I had a horrible experience somewhere else when I was younger and didnt want to repeat it!Someone let me know about San Marcos Dental Studio and said they had a great experience, so I decided to give them a try. Ive now gone to them 3-4 times and each time is great! All of the staff are very friendly, and Dr. Shahrokh is AWESOME! I had 10 cavities when I went in last year (yikes) and he made everything go smoothly and quickly.Hes also very attentive and takes time to understand any concerns you might have, and answer questions.This was also really important for me - no one here shames you for not taking perfect care of your teeth. They are just there to help and are all very caring! Highly recommend going to San Marcos Dental Studio if you need a dentist.

I am very lucky to be able to receive my dental care at this charming dental studio. There are so many positive things about it. It is pristine clean, well-lit with gentle lighting and gentle neutral colors. Everything about this studio is total zen, including the sublime music heard softly in the background. Everything about the office is calm and serene, especially the manner in which the dentist and his wonderful team conduct themselves.I happened to find out also online that my dentist, Dr Babak Sharhrokh, is also a stand-up comedian in off hours. His team also adds wonderful aspects of charm to the studio. His dental hygienist, Laleh, is careful, and gentle, taking time giving a through cleaning to teeth and gums. The dental assistant, Brian, is courteous, soft-spoken, and attentive. Tammy is their warm, friendly, and outgoing office manager. All of them clearly work to make the visit most comfortable and best quality of care for their patients. They have give me many outstanding and enjoyable experiences for which I am grateful every time I get to see them.

I really enjoyed my first time back to the dentist in a couple years! Everyone there was so friendly along with knowledgeable. The doctor and Manny were very efficient and thorough with the entire process. They would address any concerns I had and I felt quite comfortable. It was quick with no wait time. I was in and out with clean teeth! Can’t ask for more than that. Thank you to the lovely ladies at the front desk and the great team behind the scenes as well.

Beautiful, clean office; Outstanding, helpful staff - The doctor is kind, thorough and cares about his patients and their experience; Tooth cleaning was done tenderly and they did a beautiful job - took all of the coffee/tea stains out - my teeth were pearly white and looked amazing afterwards. From now on I am definitely going there every 6 months for a cleaning! It is a pleasure going to the dentist now!

This is the best dentist I have ever gone to in my entire life. They are super informative and explain everything in easy and understandable terms. They are willing to work with you when it comes to paying for your treatment. The entire team is extremely friendly and welcoming. They were a wonderful group of people! Dr Shahrokh was very professional and personable He took the time to meet me, get to know my fears, expectations and just plain me! Ramsey was the best hygienist I have ever had! He had to do a deep cleaning and had me giggling in the chair numerous times-great sense of humor, extremely thorough and very gentle -absolutely no pain! The front desk was cheerful and helpful and his assistant took a completely painless set X-rays. Altogether a truly positive experience and I would recommend them highly!

This is the best dentist office I’ve used in my whole life! I had a tooth pulled and a cavity filled today and I feel ZERO pain. They’re professional, always on time and literally the best at what they do. I used to hate the dentist and now it doesn’t bug me at all. Hell, my 9 year old wanted to come with me this morning because he loves it there too! I will be recommending them to anyone who is looking for a referral.

I have been coming here since my husband and I moved to Oceanside almost 4 years ago. Initially I was pleased with the care. Since COVID I have noticed many staff changes but was okay since I still felt like the standard of care was up to par.... until my appointment on July 7th. The Mexican front desk receptionist was rude. She wasnt wearing a mask and didnt greet me when I came in - just asked my name and told me to fill out the paper work. A few minutes later a white woman walks in and her whole demeanor changed. I waited almost 25 minutes with no apologies for the wait or update on why it was taking so long for me to be seen. I just walked out and called another dentist. But when Dr. Shahrokh heard about my experience he called me personally to apologize and explain that things would be different moving forward. After speaking with him I scheduled another appointment for today and Im looking forward to the great service that Ive been accustomed to from him and his team in the past.

I love San Marcos Dental Studio! Dr. Shahrokh and his staff are wonderful and very professional. I have had very bad experiences at dentists in the past but Dr. Shahrokh is an extremely skilled dentist. I just had 4 procedures done in my first visit including an extraction. It was totally pain free and fast. Definitely best use of novocaine. Just the right amount and I didnt have the usual novocaine OD. Also, I never had to take any pain meds or even an aspirin and I was back to my usual routine!! No down time. Anyway, great job well done by the whole team.

Super nice people and a very caring dentist! They were very helpful in describing what I needed. They were helpful in determining what my cost would be after insurance. I went in for teeth cleaning. I couldn’t afford the deep cleaning and laser treatment so they said it would be pointless to clean my teeth. I didn’t want to take out a loan with care credit or anyone else so I left disappointed. I called my previous dentist in another town and have an appointment to get it done. It’ll be a bit of a drive, but at least I’ll get my teeth cleaned!

Dr. Shahrokh and his entire staff are excellent to work with and always provide us with a positive dental experience. This even includes my 4yr old!! I was very impressed with the convenience of same day partial crown capabilities for my husband. The process was fast, efficient and we were grateful to avoid future follow-up visits or appointments. I particularly love the great level of detailed communication and great customer service. We are very happy with this practice and would recommend this experience to anyone in need!

What an amazing process! While no one likes to have 2 crowns replaced, this was done in a little over 2 hours with the crowns done right in the office! No temporaries and none of the gummy cement-like goop to make an impression! All done with the skill of the dentist and a magic wand! Great process from start to finish. Thank you!

We all know going to the dentist is usually anxiety inducing. I was looking for a new dentist for me and my family and despite a few of the bad reviews I decided to give this place a shot. I scheduled my appointment and they messaged me a few days later saying an earlier appointment opened up and asked if I wanted it. I was in no rush for a cleaning and consult but if it was available well why not.I show up fill out all of the paperwork and get taken to the back. I understand that covid has people in and out of work but a temp who had no idea how to adjust the chair let alone work the x-ray gun or their software starts taking x-rays. This made me extremely uncomfortable to be anywhere in that seat. I expressed my concerns and discomfort and they had someone else (who hasnt been there much longer) come and finish up the xrays. They also did not know how to work the software very well so I am assuming it was another temp.The Dentist comes and we have a chat he does his check and then leaves. Somebody from the front desk comes back with pricing and after a small chat says I need to sit and wait until the other cleaning is finished (45 more minutes) until they can get started on me. I say I had an appointment that should have been all at once and should take about 2 hours instead of 3 and she tells me they are doing me a favor. I didnt ask for any favors to be seen early. I didnt have any pressing need for dental work. I did however not want to spend 3+ hours at the dentist in the middle of a work day. She just kept saying they are doing me a favor and I should be happy because they book out months and months in advance.I told them this wasnt right and I left. We will see what they try and bill my insurance for but based on the other low star comments I am probably going to have to fight that with my insurance company.I cancelled all of my familys appointments and will be looking elsewhere. I would suggest you do so as well.

Five stars for five reasons: 1) Dr. Shahrokh was insistent that my crown be perfect; 2) everyone was very professional and concerned about my comfort; 3) the office staff were pleasant and helpful; 4) the treatment area is open, pleasant, and comfortable; 5) I don’t have insurance, and his services are reasonably priced. After going to a dental facility of horrors, I was devastated. I started looking for providers that accept my insurance. I was surprised San Marcos Dental Studio was in that list. I immediately sent them an email. They responded right away and asked for details of what happened at the other dental place. They were able to see me that same week. They are very cautious with Covid so they take all the appropriate measures. As soon as I walked in I felt a sight of relieve. This place is awesome. Dr. Shahrokh first introduced himself and asked me what are your concerns and what can I help you with. Then he asked what happened with the previous Dentist. He went step by step and then told me what was most important to get my teeth at a healthier state. They don’t push anything unnecessary. I was given a quote half the amount of the other place. I will never go someplace else. Did I mention how awesome the entire team is. Emily did an awesome job with my deep cleaning. Please look no further!

Unfortunately during the unprecedented times, many businesses have shut their doors, fortunately for me I found San Marcos Dental Studio. Dr. shahrokh was able to immediately fit me on to a relative quick appointment as I was having severe pain. My visit was quick, service was great, exceeding my expectations. Dr. Shahrokh is a very knowledgeable, empathetic professional through his patient centered approach. He does not try to push you for work to be done, but makes you fully aware of where you stand as far as work that “needs” to be done. If you are one of those people that fears going to the dentist, or is looking for a better experience, this is the place. It’s unfortunate HMO is not accepted here, but I will personally be coming back for as much work as I can.Thank you for everything you and your team do! :-)

Chose this practice when I went to anotherprovider in the building and they closed shopdue to Covid. It was in the same building sogave them a try. First visit went ok but thecharge you for fluoride treatments you didnot request. It was $11 so let it go. Fluoridetreatment there is now $35. Second visit forcleaning was charged $60+ copay. I was setback as I have never paid for a cleaning ever. Ithought that maybe that I had not met the 6month rule for cleanings so I let it go. It is not so much about the money as it is about the lies, confusion, disorganization, dishonesty and a persnickety office manager who will just talk over you and dismiss you.The office manager stated that the doctor wouldcall me and she cannot help. Well, no callfrom the doctor at 9pm. Pathetic. Thereceptionist is very sweet and kind, thehygienist does not say a word to you whileworking, the doctor wont talk to you and theoffice manager cannot or is not allowed toprovide customer service. No autonomy. Icalled about a dozen other providers and twoof them told me they have heard this beforeabout SMDS from new clients. I am not surethat some of the reviews here are real?If you really must use this provider ask lots ofquestions and pick apart their treatmentplan and listen very closely to the semanticsand the insurance company told me to ask forbilling codes before any work to avoid suchgrifting. There is a dentist on almost everycorner.The doctor not calling me as he stated says itall. Buyer Beware.

I appreciate the attention to detail, punctuality and care they put towards their work.When I look for a dentist or any specialist of any kind, I don’t look for perfection because there always going to be mistakes on their end, my end, or unknown variables in general. Instead, i look for how they going to react in bad situations or how they react to any mistakes. Out of all the great work they have done, i had some annoying issues with a tooth’s filling that keep coming off, this tooth in particular is very hard to work with. Although it sucks to deal with it, they made sure to accommodate me right back in and handled the situation with care and diligence, which I could not being happier knowing I was getting taken care of.

I am on the spectrum, and unfortunately sometimes get taken advantage of because of this.Dr. Babak Shahrokh, at San Marcos Dental Studio, filed a fraudulent claim for work he did not perform, and was paid by my insurance company. Because of this, I am unable to actually get work done on this tooth.Due to Dr. Babak Shahrokhs fraudulent claim, my insurance company will not allow me to get a crown placed on this tooth for 10 years moving forward. I will unfortunately lose this tooth due to the situation.I have done the following-*Contacted San Marcos Dental Studio by phone/requested my files via email (they will not speak to me or return my emails) (Federal HIPAA laws and state law govern patient right to access health records. State law is California Health and Safety CodeSection 123100-123149.5.)*Contacted my insurance company/Filed a fraud claim with my insurance companys fraud department (currently going through a lengthy process, and waiting to hear back)*Filed a claim with the Dental Board (3 year review process)*Contacted San Diego Dental Society (They cannot hold a peer review, as the Dr is not a member of this society)Thank you for reading this. I went in just for a cleaning today and the whole thing was completely shady. I never received a copy of what I signed for after I told them Hey you guys by law have to provide me with a copy .They were trying to force me to do this treatment for my gums. Three years ago, I paid several thousand dollars on dental care and a three-tooth bridge. Recently the bridge came out while eating. The two supporting teeth that anchored the bridge were just gum level nubs. There was nothing left to hold either end of the bridge in place. I went to the dentist as soon as possible.
