Incredibly pleasant, thoughtfully decorated, and clean and tidy. The front desk was quick and friendly. Nice amenities in the bathroom and a cozy atmosphere with music playing when I walked in the door. Lovely views outside the window and the entire lodge is tucked away off the road, so everything felt very private and peaceful. A short distance from the heart of downtown, but not so close to feel like I was in the middle of everything. One of my keys didn’t work and the other one took several times to get the door to open, but otherwise a perfect stay. Will definitely be coming back the next time I have business in town.

Amazing hotel! It’s about a 15 min walk to town but we actually liked this as it felt secluded, nestled into the hills- but was still close to everything.They gave us a complimentary upgrade and we loved having the fireplace. We had a gorgeous view of the hills as well.The bathroom is so nice and the Aesop products are next level!!!We borrowed the bikes which are free and rode them to town- which was so fun and special for us!They also bring you coffee and scones in the morning. The scones weren’t good but it’s the thought that counts ;)Service is amazing, everyone was so friendly.

We had the loveliest two nights at the Lodge and would heartily recommend it to anyone. The rooms were so comfortable we almost didnt want to leave, and coffee/ muffins in the morning were a wonderful surprise and perfect for the drives were took throughout our stay. Plus those Aesop bath products!We also received on-point recommendations for meals from the front desk that turned into some of the best meals we had on our trip. This is a lovely property-- pls keep doing what you do; we will be back!

The hotel was exactly what was pictured online. We had the king size room with a fireplace. It was very large, beautiful and clean. The fireplace was warm and cozy on the rainy days. The bed was very comfy. The shower was amazing - it was huge and had strong water pressure. We loved that there were snacks and beverages available to purchase from local businesses. The best part though might have been the delicious coffee and scones on the door every morning. It was about a 15 min walk to downtown.

We stayed at four different hotels during our Spring Break CA road trip and San Luis Creek Lodge was voted best of the four by all members of our family (including two teenagers). The design was bright and modern, the room was fresh and clean, and the hospitality was charming. Highly recommend!

This Bed & Breakfast is quite lovely. As soon as I entered my room, the mood was set for me. The lighting was perfect … and they had jazz music playing. Pretty impressive!I had the fireplace room was it excellent. It was probably the best sleep I’ve had in awhile. The rooms are sound-proofed so it’s extremely quiet.The bathroom had a large shower with thr perfect amount of pressure. For breakfast, they place a cut bag on your door with fresh scones and a thermos of coffee. There are a lot of small touches that for a long way. The bikes out front are adorable and accessible.The things I will point out are:1. While the rooms are soundproofed, if you have someone above you … you will hear them walking or dropping things. My first night was bliss. The second night I was awaken by walking from those above me.2. No help with luggage. While I am perfectly capable of carrying my own baggage, it is hard to carry a suitcase up a flight of stairs let alone two flights. I think a quick remedy would be asking the guests if they need help. It would be hard for someone who’s older or handicapped.Amazing stay!

A unique and eclectic styling to the room. Staff competent and personal with high level of attention. Morning coffee and pastry delivery to each room was excellent. Location wedged in along a strip of inns and motels along US 101. Very close to SLO downtown, walking distance. Also easy trip to awesome ocean preserves and mountains. Stay here!!!

Beautiful decor. We booked the room with the fireplace and loved how spacious it was. I also love that they are dog-friendly which was perfect for our pup after a long day of traveling. Beds are comfortable; showers have great water pressure; Aesop products; and loved the morning pastries! Highly recommend!

I’ve stayed here several times! It’s my favorite place to stay at in San Luis Obispo! Every detail about your stay is really awesome. Bryce always checks me in to my room and is always super helpful. The room when you first walk in has music playing for you, the lights on, and windows open for fresh air. The bathrooms have the best shampoo, conditioner, etc! Not to mention in the morning you’ll receive hot coffee and pastries! I love it here!!

This beautiful little hotel. I have very sensitive skin and this hotels sheets didn’t irritate me how other places do. I was warm and happy during my stay. Everything was good, the staff is super helpful and smiling all the time. Very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. I would recommend, the only thing was it is a pet friendly hotel and the dogs next door would wake me up in the morning. The natural lighting is wonderful. I dont drink coffee so i can’t give my opinion on that. The lobby closes at 10pm so make sure you get your requests in beforehand. Theres a microwave in the lobby which really helped since i like making popcorn while i watch a movie. Oh and they has AESOP hand soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The cute tote bag was a sweet little gift idea. I loved my stay ☺️

Although the bed was comfy and the water pressure in shower was good, I have to give this two stars because I woke up itchy, with a bug bite on my hip and my ankle, and then found little red smears and little black spots on bottom sheet I had been sleeping on- evidence of fleas or other pests. Additionally, there were brown stains on wall around toilet and what appeared to be pubic hair on wall behind shower hangers. In short- unhygienic room. When I alerted front desk to this, he said the prior occupant of my room did not have a dog, and he apologized for the unclean conditions, but instead of offering a discount or some measure of accountability, he told me to ‘drive safe.’ I slept well- the bed was nice and soft, and getting coffee delivered in the morning was nice, however now I’m itchy, concerned that I might have fleas on my belongings, and honestly a little peeved about the nonchalance and lack of redress by the lodge. I likely will not stay here again- unless they attempt to remediate the situation in good faith.

We didnt actually stay at the hotel, but I had made reservations to stay there and our plans changed. We had cancelled but for some reason that didnt go through on the hotel side.Despite the fact that our cancellation was outside the window, the hotel staff was super helpful on the phone, the manager was able to resolve the issue and could not have been more accommodating and understanding while ensuring we were refunded. Hotels with staff and managers like this should be supported, we will definitely return and stay formally in the future to ensure our business goes to a place like this.

We stayed here from Thursday to Sunday and it is the cutest hotel I have ever stayed in! We stayed in the king room with our dog and the three of us were extremely comfortable. There’s a large desk, two chairs, a fire place. It is a very spacious room. The bed and pillows are as comfortable as sleeping at home! I’m curious where they buy their pillows from so I could buy some!The rooms are clean, cozy, and adorable. Each room has its own entrance which is awesome too!The hotel staff is so nice and chill. The whole experience was laid back and easy, I never felt that “I can’t wait to get home feeling.”There was no microwave in our room, but that’s the only thing I would have liked to have.

This was a good spot. My partner and I along with our small dog had a good stay. I will dock a point though because although high quality, our room had a few negatives/oddities. Firstly, there is no real surfaces to set things down other than the bedside table. The spots that could be used (on top the fridge) are covered with the mini bar offerings. No desk, no table. It makes things difficult when you just need a surface to do really anything. Not a huge deal but more annoying than I expected.Second, although the bed in our room was a king, it was rotated 90 degrees. As in we were sleeping on the short side. Tall people be warned. I measured btw.Third, I simply dont know if this place is worth the money during their high season. When I went it was mid week and a reasonable deal, but otherwise the rooms are quite plane for the cost.The bathroom was excellent, wonderful shower.There is no breakfast but they do deliver scones and coffee to your door every morning. For the price I would have liked at least a small breakfast but the scones are good.

We enjoyed our stay passing through SLO. We got a free upgrade without asking. We took the bikes out for a little ride through campus. Friendly front desk service. Clean rooms. Nice extra touch of delivered breakfast. Tea kettle in the room was nice since I don’t drink coffee. Extra food/drink to buy if you wish to have more. Bathroom was clean and spacious. Could add a mirror in the bedroom space to help speed along a family of 4 getting ready. If we return to SLO, we will be back!

San Luis Creek Lodge is a newly renovated hotel that I was excited to check out. The design is really lovely, a modern boho feel from the lobby to your room design.I wished that service was offered to help carry my bags up since my room was up stairs, but I was able to manage after 2 trips. The room was spacious, air conditioned well, and had a very comfortable king size bed.Around 7am they deliver a tote bag with a Stanley thermos of coffee and scones in branded bags which was a nice touch. The first morning my thermos didnt have the lid on properly so coffee got on my bed. I put the do not disturb tassle on my door, but they still came in while I was out to retrieve the thermos, just a heads up to other guests staying here.The shower had great water pressure and I liked the Aesop products and also the face wipe cloths.Things I would hope they improve if they want to elevate the guests experience - Include slippers and/or a robe. Include a higher quality hair dryer, the one I had was old and had a bunch of dust in the back collecting (I would upgrade to a dyson). The windows have shutters but light still leaked in at night. In this case I would provide a sleepmask. Offer non-dairy creamer options like oatmilk for the morning coffee. Perhaps call a guest 20 minutes after they arrive in their room to ensure they have everything they need.Overall I had a good stay and know with some slight tweaks it can be a true luxury experience on the central coast.

Charming, elevated, and quiet! From the fresh morning scones to the abstract titled shower, the San Luis Creek Lodge has a lot of little details that made for an amazing stay. WE LOVED OUR STAY! My mom and I spent 3 days/2 nights at this hotel for a mother-daughter weekend getaway. We stayed in the Premium Double Queen Room with Fireplace. The room was absolutely beautiful - it was bright, spacious, modern, and minimal. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was large, and the whole room was spotlessly clean. Our room was quiet; we didnt hear anything all night. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the scones and coffee that were delivered to the room each morning were delicious and a wonderful, personal touch. Downtown SLO was very close (5 min drive) so the location was ideal without being in the middle of the nighttime/bar crowds. I would 100% recommend staying here and I hope to be back one day!

The room was on-and-off smelly and quite noisy. We asked to switch rooms, but were told none were available. When we asked to cancel our stay, they said theyd charge us anyway.So we stayed a night in a room that did indeed have the promised fireplace, but basically nothing else. There wasnt a table to eat food at, there wasnt a window that we could look out of (technically a window, but unable to open blinds), there wasnt functional air conditioning, there was nowhere to leave trash from our car ride.This is a great hotel too stay at if you want Aesop bath soaps and literally nothing else.

Perfect stopoverAs a family we had two rooms on a two night stopover as we travelled down the PCH from San Francisco to Los Angeles.We travelled back up the PCH to see Morro Rock and the Seal Sanctuary(beach). We also explored the town and it had a really lovely feel to it.In terms of the hotel itself…..the room and amenities were exactly what we needed and were expectional. The scone and coffee being delivered each morning was a great touch. There is no breakfast room but there is plenty in the town…I would recommend Sally Lou’s by the train station.

A must stay in SLO! Close to downtown, check in was a breeze, we were welcomed by Alec who was very personable. The newly remodeled rooms are beautiful, number 19 looks over a ravine in the back and felt very private. The decorative touches in the room are photo worthy. They showcased local businesses in their gift boxes and Aesop products. And the coffee and pastry delivery in the morning was delightful. We will definitely be back!

This is a nice, recently updated, and renovated property. We enjoyed the large room size and bath amenities, as well as the coffee & scones delivered in the morning, which was a nice touch. However, a large dissapointment the noise level, you can hear every footstep and noise within the room. Our room was located on the second floor, the noise of guests walking up and down the stairs in the hallway as well as the guests staying above us. Unfortunately, I dont think that this was entirely the fault of the guests, but the thin walls and floors that amplified the sound.

We stayed there when we visited our grandson at Cal Poly. The location is perfect for ease of visiting the school and going downtown. Our upper floor room was beautiful, serene and relaxing. And, you cant beat the coffee and scones every morning at your door. We will be back!

The property is being renovated so the construction workers were our wake-up call. We did not know the property is being refurbished. Daytime parking is non-existent due to workers parking their trucks and using spaces outside our room for an outdoor workspaces...saws, etc. This property is not handicap friendly. There are stairs to the majority of units, maybe two are flat into the door.There is one small folding chair at the desk in the room. There is ample room for an occasional chair. Sitting on the bed was not pleasant.Breakfast was disappointing, eggs were cold both days and overcooked.... coffee was cold. The in room heater failed to work the first night but the fireplace took the chill off.Stayed here years ago when it first opened for business and had a great memory from that visit. My partner recently had surgery and we came here for a quiet retreat. NOT!

Our stay at SL Creek Lodge was amazing. The attention to detail was there, the room is beautiful and the location allows to walk into town, take a bike - which they provide - or take a short drive. There are two things that could have been better, the first being that they provide a danish and coffee as a breakfast, which we do not consider to be a breakfast. I would say they should advertise it for what it is “a nice danish and a coffee to get you started” so that you know to plan to have a full breakfast in town. The second thing was we had a room that was very close to the parking and the window was directly at view of people parking, so in order to have privacy, we had to shut the blinds in the only window we had (we had room 20 or 21, cannot remember). I’m not sure there is anything to do about this but I would maybe make this room less expensive than the others and explain why. Otherwise everything was great! Using Aesop products in the bathroom was great as well and the products to purchase in room were of great quality. If we are ever in SLO again, we will stay at SL Creek Lodge again!

I really love their breakfast. I would come back just for that. Also little things like the flavored water, with fresh strawberries. The baked goods were delicious and the eggs were fluffy, sausages cooked to perfection. Again loved the breakfast and the quiet, relaxing ambience. I took a point off because the room style is not my preference. But, decent size and a nice, quaint decor, room is clean, but I am more comfortable with a more updated style.

Very nice rooms. The bathroom and shower were amazing. The bed was very comfortable. I received a phone call within an hour checking out informing me I had left a pair of shoes in my room. They offered to ship them to me if I had already left town. I have never had another hotel notify me like that! The only disappointing thing was realizing I had to schlep my big suitcase up several flights of stairs because none of the buildings had elevators. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to SLO and will bring two smaller bags instead of one big suitcase. 😉

This place was very very high quality. They have four buildings on a very thin lot. Well done with the design of the property folks. I was in the Plantation building, which I liked because the room faced on to a ravine. Every aspect was high quality. I dont have the budget for what this establishment usually costs but I was glad to find a reduced mid week rate online. It is about a ten minute walk from downtown which I liked and it is about a 2 minute drive to Cal Poly. It is right on the 101 but far enough away that you wouldnt know you were close. Breakfast was pretty good. There was something of good quality for every palate and an attentive employee making eggs the way you wanted them. Overall excellent excellent excellent.

They recently finished renovations and we were lucky to stay here for a week while still WFH. They are pet-friendly ($75 pet fee per stay). Each morning around 7:30am, they deliver a bag containing scones and a thermos filled with coffee. The room is lovely and spacious. Location is great, within 5 mins driving to downtown SLO but also being a nice, quiet area. Lots of grass and mulch patches within walking distance if you plan to bring your dog too. My only complaint would be if the hotel is booked full, you can hear the second floor guests footsteps very loudly (It sounds like someone stomping in heels!)

Beautiful place to stay. Very professional and courteous staff. Theyre extremely pleasant when asking typical tourist questions. The rooms are VERY clean! Breakfast is delicious! My two downfalls are the out of place shower. I think they forgot to update it with the rest of the room. And the sloped and heavily cramped parking, yuck! I saw an elderly couple struggling to get their luggage up the driveway to their vehicle. I ran to help them out of course. The man said, they should tell people that this place isnt well laid out for us old folks and the disabled. If you are either, stay at the first chateau closest to the office. Youll be on level ground.

Great place to stay. The hotel resprenstative is very nice and helpful. The rooms are very clean and kept up. I highly recommend this place, but is little tight but manageable. Only thing I wish they have breakfast earlier...about 6am or 630am. Oh well thats small potatoes. 🙂🤗 My room is 408 and really roomy and King size bed. Love it.

Only downside I can think of is all rooms are on a staircase landing and doors are next to each other. Walls are thin so you hear people coming up and down. Annoying for light sleepers like myself, but I would still stay here again and again

This is a cute little property. Its conveniently Located off of highway 101 in San Luis Obispo. We kind of booked here by default because it was one of the few hotels that still had rooms available over a busy weekend. There are a number of buildings on this long narrow property that slopes steeply downward towards the back. Each of the buildings have a different theme.Our room was clean and nicely appointed. The bed wasnt the best but it was okay. I dont think Id want to sleep on it more than a couple of nights. Fair warning, parking on this site can be challenging and if your vehicle is not a compact you may find the parking difficult to negotiate. Our room was all the way in the back of the property and there are not enough parking spaces for every room. It took a fair amount of effort to turn our midsize sedan around when we found all the parking spaces taken. The next night we took the first available space and walked to our room in the back. The walk in is all downhill, of course that means that the walk to the car the next morning was all uphill. Okay if youre young but it was hard on my old knees.They offer a breakfast in a very small room. Im pretty sure a dozen people would more than full it up. We opted to walk down a few doors to the Apple Farm. The food there is always reliable and you cant beat the beautiful setting. All in all a nice little place, pretty reasonably priced for its location.

This is easily my favorite place to stay while in SLO. It has a friendly staff, a way better than average breakfast, and the rooms are very charming. Downtown isnt too far off a walk and theres a decent brew pub down the street. Great for a romantic getaway or even just business, which is the reason I stay.

The first thing I noticed upon arrival was the quaint English theme of the location. The room itself was rather small, but the king-sized bed and large showers made up for the rather smallish accommodations. The hotel is easy to find off the freeway and within a few blocks of downtown San Luis Obispo. The staff were pleasant, cordial, and willing to assist an out-of-towner with suggestions for food and entertainment.

What a GREAT place! We booked this place on a whim after the place we were staying in Big Sur was a dump. Im so glad they had availability. We stayed in the Chestnut room and it was perfect. Nice, spacious room with a big, comfortable bed. Big bathroom with two sinks. Everything is updated and very clean. The breakfast was also wonderful. Its located in the heart of motel row as we called it, but it is definitely a gem mixed in. Be prepared to walk 15-20 minutes to town, but we were more than ok with that. I would highly recommend staying here!

Disappointed. The small room was too crowded with heavy furniture, the shower head and one sink faucet were covered in mold, the closet had just three hangers, the breakfast was terrible - the hard boiled eggs were frozen, the scrambled eggs (in a bucket) were rubbery and tasteless, the bananas were a few days beyond ripeness for banana bread (black and bruised). I asked them to clean the mold and they seem to have attempted to do so but were not successful and did not address it with me afterward. I do not recommend this place.P.S. After I lodged another complaint on the second morning the mold was gone

I was greeted by Craig a San Luis Obisbo raised local whole knew the whole area and answered all of my many question on getting acclimated to the local activities. I prefer what the locals do not tourist spots so I had a lot of questions. He couldnt of been any friendlier. Centrally located cottage style rooms. Near downtown and minutes from the ocean. This room felt like I was at home. We stayed May 2-4 2024 when our original hotel oversold our room and it was such a blessing in disguise! San Luis Creek Lodge has such attentive and kind staff. From check-in to check out it became one of our favorite stays in SLO. Our room was updated and spacious with a view of the Creek. Loved that they have bikes available for guests to explore downtown (which is just a walk away) and the breakfast of local baked goods and a Stanley thermos of coffee. We will definitely be back!

The bathroom is beautiful and the shower is great. Ive slept in hotels three times as expensive but not even half as good. The staff was also super friendly.
