Mr. Miracle worker. Of course, i spilled some vinegar into the charging port of my MacBook Air. Doesnt everyone? Tried the rice bag thing, but I still could not get it to turn on. Brought it to Del. He has such a calming energy. Because I waited too long to bring it in, it was rusted on the inside, He didnt think I could salvage anything. But somehow he did!!!! Fully restored! This isnt the first time he saved the day for me.

Unfriendly but more importantly, unprofessional. He will pretend like it could be a hardware issue when it’s a simple fix so he could charge you 75$ minimum fee. All he did was re-installing the Wifi driver and he said “you messed up my day because it took me 3 hours.” Well, if you do this for a living and installing Wifi driver takes 3 hours… I don’t know what to say. My friends later told me this is overpriced repair shop so beware of all the negative reviews.

Fantastic repair shop! Could recommend enough! Help me diagnose an issue with my CPU, showed me how I could get another one for free utilizing the manufacturer warranty, and even let me barrow a CPU until the replacement came! If you are looking for a place to take your computer, this is the spot!

Quick and easy service! I needed an emergency appointment for a liquid spill on my MacBook, I called around 10AM this morning & he had me come right in. It’s 11:30AM right now and my issue is already resolved! The location is also very easy to get in/out of with plenty of available street parking.

Phenomenal service! My MacBook battery wasnt retaining charge and there was an issue with the motherboard. Apple wasnt able to fix it and had turned me away. Del was able to fix my MacBook within 24 hours and for such a great price! He provided me a quick turn around with short notice as I had to travel. Simply amazed that my MacBook is fixed now. Had lost hope after Apple had said they cant do anything. Thank you!

I used this weasel on a number of occasions without a hitch until a few months ago, when he charged me $150 for a laptop audio repair. Once I got the laptop home, it was obvious within two seconds that the unit was not properly repaired. Anyone with two ears could hear the audio was still just awful. How could he, in good conscience, charge $150 for something so obviously not fixed as the audio on a laptop? Doesnt he check his work?I called him immediately and he didnt seem at all surprised at my complaints. He told me he would order new parts to properly fix it. (You mean he didnt already have simple, basic audio parts at his store and had to order them??) Of course, I never heard back from him. I had to call again and got nothing but a runaround. In fact, I waited patiently for a month for these new parts to arrive at this place of business with no results except aggravation. I am grateful I paid with a credit card, which allowed me to stop the $150 charge. He never disputed the stop payment and so, after much frustration, I did recoup my money.I dont know what happened to this guy, maybe he has a brain tumor, maybe he was always a cheat but I didnt realize it before. The lesson I learned: Avoid this Weasel like the Plague.

My laptop screen panel snapped out from a drop and they managed to secure it in back in place with some innovative solution with screws. I picked it up next day and was surprised how it works! Worth the $150 fee versus mailing it in for manufacturer repair service for a whole lot more $$$.

Either this guy didn’t understand what I was asking for, or he deliberately sabotaged my attempt to fix my PC in an effort to pay him to work on it.All I asked for was a simple download of windows onto a memory stick to be able to reboot my PC. Any consumer with basic internet experience is supposed to be able to do this. I didn’t have access to a PC since mine wouldn’t boot up. I paid him $35 for just a simple download of software that I already own.Well, he downloaded his own reboot software onto the flash drive, making it impossible for anyone without expert PC knowledge to do anything. As I was leaving he offered me his services to help reboot my laptop, seeming skeptical that I could do this on my own.Of course I couldn’t - not with whatever he put on my flash drive.Either he did this on purpose to try to get me to pay him to help me, or he didn’t understand what I was asking for. I have attached screenshots of what he put on my flash drive. It even has his name on it.

I called to inquire about fixing the cracked touch screen on my laptop, after receiving a quote from another vendor that was the same or more than the cost of my device. The gentleman here at SF Computer Repair who answered the call was immediately up front about the cost of the repair, and recommended that it wouldnt be worth fixing from a cost perspective. He even recommended a cheaper / alternate option to fixing it myself. Honesty / good service is rare and though I didnt use your services, I would recommend this place based on its character! The tech on the phone @ sf computer repair was super helpful, he helped me solve a bios boot up issue on my Dell xps8930 in 5min for free. Dell’s own technical support couldn’t even do that. They wanted to charge me $100 and wasted my time for 30min giving me the wrong information. I highly recommend San Francisco Computer Repair!

Yay, I can write this review because this place repaired my laptop.Del, the CEO, janitor, head tech and everything guy of his outfit is a gem. An honest, earnest man who did his best in turning my busted laptop around in a matter of days and he busted his a** just to get it done because I had a personal deadline, in spite of some complications of the nature of the laptops I brought in.My highest praise and recommendation for this shop and Del. Computer savvy and guaranteed to fix any problems but be specific with what you want fixed and how. Brought in a bad hard drive and instead of a fix/replacement, installed a new OS to my SSD ($150) and cleaned (free of charge). When I brought it back in for the right fix I expected, charged $97 again to replace hard drive which feels unfair. It seems like the obvious fix but I paid it all the same. My fault for not being specific but not the best business practice to double charge that way. Still recommend though

I must write this review. I spilled water on my logitech keyboard a while ago so that the ctrl key didnt work. I found this store, and the boss was not only very enthusiastic to help me solve the problem, but also didnt charge me a penny. This way I dont have to spend another $165 to buy a new keyboard. These guys have helped me a number of times over the last...more than a decade now. They are always clear about whats going on and charges, and last time when it turned out they couldnt repair my laptop (seriously regret getting a MacBook) Del even helped me pack it up to ship elsewhere for data recovery. I brought my laptop in after having problems with the screen and touchpad while I had been away for the weekend. Of course the problems disappeared when I turned it on at the shop so I appreciated that the fellow behind the counter was able to determine what the problem was just by my description (and didnt look at me like I was completely insane.) He was able to provide a work around in minutes and didnt charge me. I appreciated that he didnt try to upsell me to the more expensive fix. Based on my limited experience I wouldnt hesitate to go back here for service in the future.

Brought my dead computer in there and they miraculously were able to pull out the hard drive and put all my files on a little disc and they did this very reasonably. They were even able to fix the computer but it was getting pretty old and so we all decided that maybe the best thing to do would be to get a new computer. There was a woman in there ahead of me who was ecstatic because they managed to fix her laptop. She was very happy so I think that John there is a wonderful technician and great to deal with and they are reasonable as well. Its always great to have a computer guy that you can count on to go to and I think John is your man. I spilled a large cup of tea on my mac book pro the other day. When I called them, they are on the point and told me what to do and what not to do at this point, and explained how they might help me in a very succinct manner.They are competent, timely and are honest. Dell was very gracious and are extremely helpful. I used to go to a mac shop in SF even though the owner of the shop got things done, I dont felt he knows his stuff cold. This place is different. Like I said, competent, honest, timely and no-frills. They also did a few things for me for free as an extra, very gracious. I highly recommend this place.

I was ready to give up on my 2016 MacBook pro after a number of issues that resulted in it not turning on even after dozens of SMC, PRAM, NVRAM resets. Genius bar was useless and recommended that I junk this 2 year old $2600 computer for $300 trade-in value.I hate to add to electronic waste, so I went to SF Computer Repair as a hail Mary.I got quick (2 days) and affordable ($360 to replace the entire motherboard), and kind (explaining everything) service from Del. Computer is working right now, and Im off to the races!I hope not to have any more issues with my computer, but I will be coming back if I do. I was in a hurry to fix my laptop and went to them because they have great reviews. The owner didn’t even look at the laptop much but he immediately said “oh just throw it away” The graphic card on the motherboard is dead”. He told me he can get my data restored and it will cost me $65. So he was nice and even sent me a screenshot of my desktop to see what files to save. I gave him my external hdd and when I come back to pick up my laptop and my extracted data on my hdd he wanted to charge me $260! I told him that’s not the price I heard. It was $60. He told me “You remember we talked on the phone and I told you $260”. I honestly don’t remember and I remember I asked him several times while in the shop and he said $65. I had only one receipt he gave me and it’s for $65. At the end he gave me a 50% discount on the $260 he was asking for. I paid and left. To be honest it’s not so much about the money but he made me feel uncomfortable and needing to explain myself. I just needed my laptop and hdd with me and to be out of there. If the owner is reading this: next time write the price down, explain the diagnostics of the laptop and see if the owner agrees or not. I attached my receipt:

Unprofessional and terrible service. Kept ignoring me as I was explaining what was wrong with my laptop, claimed it couldnt be fixed without really looking at it, and then changed his tune after finally seeing that all that was needed was a keyboard cleaning. Then, didnt completely clean the keyboard, yet charged me $35. I dont know where these positive reviews are coming from, but my experience here was extremely offputting.

I was passing thru SF when my computer failed to boot. I phoned SF Computer Repair on Saturday morning, brought the laptop in after noon, and Del had wiped the hard drive of files, reloaded Windows, reloaded data, and had it back to me by 5 PM. What an awesome place! Ive owned and discarded tons of computers when things go wrong; the price point has gone down a lot. So when my Asus hinge broke, I quickly purchased a new laptop. But the Asus still had a top processor and wasnt that old, and I resolved to have it fixed. I found this place on Google.The guy took it and cautioned that touch screens can be tricky. But he accepted the job, and said hed followup in a week. A week later, call came to pick up the fixed laptop. He took the time to show me why it broke (shame, Asus, shame) and the bill was quite reasonable.If you have something that needs fixing, get it fixed here. Its important to use everything we own to the fullest extent possible. (My new lesson at least)

So I had a problem where I couldnt open any application(Days gone, Siege, Tf2, any game) took it in said they would charge me $65 at starting price. waited 5 days for it when I came in the charge me $195 and hardly gave an explanation on what was the issue that I could understand, but when I got home I had to change a bunch of stuff for I can open a application, And now I have very low FPS(in 20 to 40, I was getting 150 to 240 before the problem). I have to give it that they did fixed the main problem but now I have a different problem which makes it where they didnt really paid attention or tested. I would go back but I dont want to be overcharge on something that barely fixed my issue.

I came into this shop flustered with my suddenly non responsive laptop that I was sure was going to need repairs that cost several hundred dollars. I had trouble finding anyone who did in house work and was told by multiple places that they would need to ship my laptop out to get fixed based on my description of the issue.John met me at the front desk and was incredibly sympathetic and listened to what I had to say. John clearly knows his stuff, and he suggested a problem and potential fix that Lenovo support (or anyone else for that matter) did not even suspect, bring up, or suggest. I walked out with my laptop completely back to normal in under 10 minutes. John is crazy good, crazy nice, and the shop is crazy awesome. I hope I never have computer troubles again, but when I inevitably do, I will be back here.

These guys are total pros, and they’ll remind you how nice it can be to work with a team you can trust at a local neighborhood business.I brought in a MacBook Pro that I’d dropped to see if we could at least salvage my data. Not only did they help me save my data and even get it partially working again, they actually explained everything they were seeing and looking for as they stepped through the process. I learned a few things, and another customer (who was raving about his prior experiences at the shop) hung out to chat and learn about the inner workings of a Mac, too.It’s the type of business you hope not to need too often, but I’ll definitely use them the next time we run into a computer issue of any kind.

I HAD to finish a short job before leaving town the next day, and the aged iMac I needed for the work wouldnt boot. I called SFCR and asked if they have rush service, and they do, for a fee. I took the machine, agreed to pay the fee, and worried that parts would be unavailable or they would break the machine worse than it already was.The opposite happened! In an hour, Del at SFCR called and said my machine was fixed, and as a bonus he had upgraded its RAM in the course of replacing what turned out to be a bad memory chip. I got my job done in time and my computer is working again!Reasonable prices, life-saving super fast service! I hope not to need computer repair again for a long time, but I sure hope SFCR is there for me again when I need them. Highly recommended.
