World-class auto shop. But more importantly: HONEST, TRUSTWORTHY, STRAIGHTFORWARD, TRANSPARENT MECHANICS!! This place is the spot! Best mechanic I’ve been to anywhere, bar none. Patrick is great, super helpful, friendly, responsive and keeps you updated throughout service and thoroughly goes over everything after. I’ve twice brought my car there for them to correct another mechanics work.Top quality work and they finish quickly.Last time they fixed another mechanics work, they didn’t charge me and they followed up the next day! They followed up on the free service!! You just dont get that kind of customer service anymore.They always go the extra mile. Even washing my car before pickup!I agree with what another reviewer said, “I almost don’t want to give this place 5 stars because I don’t want anyone else to go there.”10/10

Patrick is just awesome. Not only is he easy to schedule with and very responsive, but hes one of the few shops that doesnt take advantage of you. If you need a repair, the work is high quality and the price is fair. If you have an easy fix or adjustment, often hell just do it on the fly. Awesome place! Thank you, Patrick and team!

I almost hate to give SF Auto Solutions a five star review, selfishly because I dont want everybody else to go there (smile). Its kind of like that spectacular hidden beach you find or a beautiful place in the Sierras that you hope not everybody shows up at? Thats how good this repair shop is! I really dont want to share it with you, but I am because the shop is a real gem.Patrick and his crew are very professional, and in all seriousness, you could eat off the floor inside this shop. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, and their attention to detail - not only with customer service but with their thorough investigation of my cars malfunctions. I drove up from LA, and my check engine light went on 30 miles from the city. Calling around, I was lucky to get Patrick at SF Auto Solutions on the line. He told me to head right over. Clean shop, professional place. Patrick had his tech put the reader on my car and cleared the check engine light, but not before thoroughly explaining the situation to me. Most impressive? He actually texted me the next day to see if Id made it back to LA. Super thoughtful and also very informative, not to mention professional. Five stars and more!

I called Patrick as a 2nd opinion on a seemingly very expensive inspection for my 2016 Mini Cooper. He walked me through the various services and quoted me at a much more reasonable price.When I took my car in, he again walked me through all the recommended services, even suggesting that many of the services from the inspection were not critical and suggested that I wait. He was exceptionally honest and saved me a ton of money on noncritical services.Always hesitant about finding a place to service my Mini outside of the dealership, but when he said that he had one himself, I knew I found my go to mechanic in the Bay Area.

Patrick is an extremely honest mechanic who fixed my car’s brakes quickly and at a fair price. He also went out of his way to point out that my splash guard was damaged and that it needed to be replaced. He ordered the parts for me and replaced it with zero additional labor charge. My car broke down near by this shop, they helped me to bring the car inside.At first they told me that the price will be $850 to fix it, but eventually sent me the invoice for 1700 dollars. I told them that I need to think about it, but they said that the car will be fixed in a couple of hours already. I thought, that I don’t have much of a choice, but at least my car would run great.When they showed me my car, I noticed strong vibrations and a weird sound, I asked about it and Patrick replied that the car is just old ( I didn’t have that sound before it broke down). When I started driving home, I discovered that my engine lacks power, the car was super slow. They said that they tested - lied and didn’t fix the car properly. Charged a lot!I don’t recommend anyone this shop, pretend that they want to help you, charge you a lot for nothing, and eventually let you out with potentially dangerous car to drive.Poor business, hope you shut down before you kill someone!

My brakes were locking up and causing my wheels to skid when applying the brakes. I brought my truck in to All American and I had my truck back in less than 24 hours with the repairs complete. Patrick said it was a spring in the brake drum that needed to be replaced and he did not charge me for any parts or labor. Incredible!I have used them in the past and will certainly continue to use this trustworthy auto repair shop in the future.

This was my first time finding my own auto shop in San Francisco. I was so impressed by the quality service and warm reception from Patrick at SF Automotive Solutions.The online booking was quick and they were expecting me at the appropriate time. Excellent service! My 2010 convertible MINI rear window regulator was broken. They fixed it. I’m happier than a pig in mud! Not only did the shop repair my rear window regulator, but Patrick, the owner explained why my“check engine” was flashing.. The man knows what he is doing and cares about his customers! His talented team also made minor repairs that were necessary but not contracted like my convertible top that kept getting stuck in sunroof position. Islam service totally recommended!

Brought my Mercedes in for a full inspection. Patrick was a pleasure to work with and broke down the diagnostics report in detail with me while also providing his recommendations.My car is 24 years old and had a lot of regular maintenance work to be done, but nothing seriously pressing. Found this shop by chance when my car first broke down and I had just moved to San Fran. The towing company recommend them. My Jetta had a huge transmission oil leak, caused by a crack in the pan. This happened during a time i was going through major health challenges. I brought in my 15 year old Mercedes after I had a major problem in the middle of the night. Patrick and his team looked into it the next morning and gave me a very detailed and easy to understand outline of the repairs needed. He was very conscious about cost. My car needed a LOT of work. Chit-chatting about a completely different topic and not cars, I could tell hes clearly the kind of person who makes sure to not just get a job done, but to do it well. The owner of this shop is very knowledgeable, patient, kind, and helpful. He answered all my questions easily, without any pressure for additional work I needed new tires, and he asked me to take a picture of the tire that I presently had and text it to him. He was then able to get the exact replacement tire at a very reasonable cost. The cost for routine maintenance also was very reasonable. Since I do not like to get up early in the morning to get my car to him, I was able to drop it off the night before, and it was completely ready by noon the next day. Mercedes had moved to South San Francisco, so I was very happy to find this place in the city. I am in sales, so I hate to leave my car in the shop for as long as Mercedes usually requires to have it. Dropping my car off the night before and being able to pick it up by noon the next day made it very convenient. The work was completed perfectly and in such a timely manner, it made it so essy for me to get in and out of there picking up my car sparkling clean after they had washed it. I am so glad I found this shop, and wish I would’ve found it sooner.

I recently had an issue where my engine splash shield was dragging underneath my car, and needed to fix it urgently. I called Patrick at San Francisco Automotive Solutions and he said I could come by right away. I was out within 20 mins with the splash shield fixed, and wasnt charged for the fix. A 79-year-old friend from out of town had a dashboard light illuminate on his 24-year-old pick-up truck on the way back home, so he pulled in to have it checked out just before leaving San Francisco. SFAS has been my go-to mechanic in SF for about six years now and were actually recommended to me by the AAA tow truck driver, since I hadnt had a vehicle in over 15 years, I didnt have a mechanic. I distinctly remember him saying, a lot of people like this place, and handing me their card. I can clearly understand why, and have never regretted taking his advice. In the handful of times I have used their services, Patrick has done a great job of explaining the issues that needed to be addressed, explaining why they happened, answered every question I have had, occasionally advised against an up-sell, and generally done a great job with my vehicles. If youre looking for an honest, professional, no BS repair shop with a welcoming atmosphere, look no further.

Patrick saved me after getting spooked by the Stewart Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram on Serramonte who told me my battery was likely dead after they completed my 50K mile service check and were about to charge me $200+ to look into it and another $300+ to change the battery. I had just gotten a new battery within the last year and a half, so I knew to go get a second opinion. Thank God I found Patrick! He completed a complimentary inspection and recharged my battery and now has my business forever. Incredibly professional, respectful and explained to me in laymans terms exactly what he was doing and uncovered in inspecting my vehicle. Looking for a mechanic can be frustrating, at least for me it has at times. I went to Yelp, chose two. Both establishments had good reviews. Being a AAA member I chose San Francisco Automotive Solutions. I am very happy I did! Will not bore you with too many details. Went to the shop knowing I needed a brake job. Patrick (CEO/Founder) detailed what they do with first timers. After a full inspection I got news that was more than concerning. After my very in depth conversation with Patrick I decided to go ahead with the job. I picked up my vehicle yesterday after one last replacement. I own a 2004 Mazda 6s purchased brand new. My vehicle drives like it did the first time I drove it home from the dealer!! The ride is smooth and that Mazda zoom is definitely there again!! My family and I have taken our vehicles to Pat for years. I actually look forward to taking my car in because my car and myself are treated so well! When I bought a new car, I had to take it to the dealership for maintenance because it was under warranty, and I missed the impeccable service and witty banter I got from Pat. I am so happy to be back and done with the dealership where I always felt over charged, neglected, and talked down to. Pat is always transparent about what needs to be fixed and what went into the service as well as being clear about what can wait to be fixed when money is tight. GREAT experience. I brought a 98 M3 and had Patrick and his team do a detailed lookover and change the tires. I had picked up the car a week back from a private seller who showed me a clean Car record, service history, etc. It was my mistake to take their word for it.It had been in an accident, it had cracked engine mounts, cracked transmission mounts, and the rear tires were 8 years old.Patrick advised me that he would give a quote only if he felt the rest of the car was worth repairing.Thankfully it was, but it was a bit job. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. My car has been stalling off and on for the last 6 months. It has broken down countless times, stalled while I was driving it. My 2012 Clubman seemed to be losing power, so when the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT went on, I initially brought it to Mini of Marin, where I bought it and had it serviced every year since purchase. Mini of Marin was unable to resolve the light and told me I needed a new engine. With just 63, 000 miles on the car, I went looking for a second opinion. Within five minutes of talking to the owner of San Francisco Automotive Solutions, Patrick Banta who answered the phone, I knew I had dodged a bullet. From the answers I gave to a battery of questions asked, Pat said that he thought that all my troubles would be fixed with a new clutch. My BMW X5 was delivered to automotive solutions by mistake. It was supposed to go to BMW of San Francisco. Patrick (the principle of Automotive solutions) was very courteous and parked my X5 in his shop over night. The tow service was supposed to pickup my car between 8-9 and deliver it to BMW. When they arrived at automotive solutions they found the parking brake was stuck ON and would not release. They had brought a flat bed to get it but, they needed a cradle truck. All the while Patrick is calling the towing companies to aid in getting my car towed to the correct location. Patrick is extremely patient and allowed me to keep the car there at no charge until the towing companies got their act together and sent the proper vehicle. I brought my 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser to have the AC system checked for leaks since the AC was not blowing cold air anymore. I received a text message on the same day regarding the issue and fix with photo of the culprit. I gave the consent to fix and it was fixed accordingly. This is the most honest car repair shop I have ever used. My BMW dealer suggested to replace my BMW 528 rear differential mount immediately for a couple of thousand of dollars and they made it sound that it was in really bad shape and disaster would occur if I did not. Being a young driver, it would have been very easy for these guys to rip me off, but they did the exact opposite. The bottom plastic shield of my car was torn and dragging on the ground. I knew when I went in for a PPI something was wrong, Pat did not take my contact info or anything to sign when I left.Said it was done 4 hours later, come in and a piece of paper showing brake pad depth printed on paper.Asked about lowering springs. 4.8 hours for the front and 4.8 hours for the rear for $1900. LOL.Took it to Werkshop with quote 2/3 less and 5 hours which is normal. I knew when Pat gave me the quote he was not an honest mechanic. If hes quoting $1900 I bet his estimates overall are higher. Pat, perhaps people know about cars more than you think.Well Werkshop began installation and noticed that the front strut was damaged, they were able to use the warranty to have this replaced at Carvana cost. If PPI was properly done it should have been found.I bet they didnt do anything, not even put it on the rack for inspection.I suspect they have not been doing PPI thoroughly with other customers, this is a scam in hopes of obtaining future business, I would avoid this shop like the plague.

Theyre truly experts on all types of cars and deeply committed to their customers.On my latest visit, my battery had died, and my first text as always was to Pat. Within minutes Pat let me know that, despite my failed attempts at jumpstarting, I should let AAA take a shot because they can put more juice in. He noted that the battery I had (installed in the trunk on my BMW) was the wrong size and was drained but luckily there was no problem with the electrical system in my car. While replacing the battery, his tech noted that the radiator was cracked and my belt tightener was broken. Pat graciously provided a loaner, and I returned two days later with my BMW in perfect condition.Instead of getting saddled with new car payments, with San Francisco Automotive Solutions, I expect to keep driving my ultimate driving machine well past the 200,000 mile mark!

Pat really helped out in a pinch when my clutch went out. He took the car in on a Monday and had a brand new clutch in the car by early Wednesday morning. Pat was transparent, trustworthy, and knew exactly what he was talking about. Car was ready early.
