Great grocery store. Plenty of parking. Excellent delicatessen with huge selection of speciality cheeses and fresh made food. The fruit and vegetables are better and fresher than Sprouts. They have a bakery with excellent fresh bread and pastry items. Smells so good. The staff are super friendly. If the lines are long like during lunchtime, try the express lane or self check out. Highly recommend.

This place has really gone down hill. The worst part is the expired sales tags.Youre doing self checkout and realize the item is actually not on sale and guess what. No one is working. Therere always workers chit chatting but never a worker helping customers at the self checkout.On a positive note, its a Safeway in an upscale neighborhood so parking is easy and store is clean.

Theyve got the same selection as other area Safeway stores, but the building itself always feels old; it is a little dark, the aisles dont seem as wide, and it just feels cramped. Its not my favorite by any means.

Its a big Safeways with a really exceptional range of products. Stock-outs are rare. Veggies are fresh and whatever you need is there, there is a real butchery, a deli with great choices. People are always friendly and helpful.

Aisha in the deli went way above and cooked me up 150 pieces of chicken within 24 hours for a party I was having. Not one complaint, was boxed up real nice, and the chicken was delicious! Thank you!!

Ive been here multiple times and have had so-so experience here, but Im done coming here.Erin was the cashier who rang me up, and shes extremely rude for no reason. Its like she hates her job and puts it on the customers. I happened to accidentally forgot to input my number for self checkout, so I was told I needed to go to a cashier to resolve the issue. I get in Erins line, and the moment I tell her, she snatches the receipt from me and tells me how wrong I am because the receipt was supposed to say how much I could save and tells me to get out of her line. I tell her that there were definitely a few items that were on sale, and she gets annoyed by this and sighs. Once she got the manager to help finish the transaction, she is trying to get me to leave as fast as possible. Absolutely poor image to your company and store.

I am truly disappointed with this particular Safeway on Sunnyvale-Saratoga road. Heaven forbid that you ever have to ask for help from the staff here. I interacted with three different staff members here during my visit and I found all of them unpleasant and rude. Looking at the number of long standing complaints on Yelp, I realize now that this is a common experience here and that it has not improved one bit. I regret visiting this store and I will definitely avoid this one in future.

Editing my review - I have been shopping here for 20+ years, and lately the customer service has been pretty bad. While produce, meat and bakery are great the other issue not so much. Also shop at Whole Foods, Trader Joes, and while these stores are slightly better Safeway manages to take things down a notch. They know what the issue is, and simply cant get it together.Ultimately its a choice on where to shop, and there are better places.

My favorite Safeway. The team is much nicer than the other safeways in the area. Photo attached... meatloaf is free using their rewards program. And their meatloaf is amazing! All items nicely discounted or free using their app. Only full price item is the jelly belly. Chips and salsa 1.99 ea. Cheaper than any store in the area.

Safeway is good but a bit more pricey than some other stores. The Sushi they have is pretty good for being a grocery store, and we usually get Steaks, Chops, or Hamburger from here. They really have whatever you need and they are not as expensive as Whole Foods, but not as cheap as Walmart. Safeway is right in the middle.

Bad morning, disgusting service, the cashier is so rude, two cashiers keep chatting and definitely don’t want customer to interrupt their gossip, so rude, inpatient, push customer finish quickly, of course they are not the owner, they don’t care the business is good or bad. This Safeway is always a nice place to visit. A lot of the employees that work at this location have worked here many years. They recognize me every time I visit. Even the employees that dont recognize me are super friendly! They are almost always amazingly pleasant. They are all very willing to assist someone to look for items in the back, especially. I never get told that things are all on the shelf, unless an employee already knows as much. That tends to be items brought in bymerchandisers, so they are items that they dont carry in the back.

This Safeway is clean, well-organized, and well-stocked. The staff is helpful and efficient. In the past, this store has had trouble with long lines in the late afternoon.Update: There are now self-check stations available. I havent found that I have had to wait at all for check out. The store continues to be clean, well-organized and well-stocked. It did suffer from the same shortages all grocery stores faced at the beginning of pandemic, but the shelves are full at this location.

I always shop here, great customer centric staff and good inventory. Their bakery and cakes are superb, and the food section has great food. Lots of parking and the bagging customer staff, always ask if we would like assistance to the car, incase there are elderly or little kids involved with lots of grocery.

Staff are very rude, they dont appreciate you giving them business. If they dont like you, you will not get good service. I went there early morning, I asked the deli when theyre selling the 8-piece chicken, this hispanic guy told me with an attitude that they dont start preparing them until 10 am. He sounded like hell get them ready whenever he wants to. When I went to their other store, the girls told me theyre ready around 6 am.

Im pretty young and dont have a credit/debit card so the cashiers will accept pretty much any payment method (as long as its a U.S. currency). Everything is very organized and they even have a little clearance shelf in the back, but dont expect everything you want to be there. Unfortunately there are no ATMs but there is a couple banks throughout the shopping center. If youre feeling hungry after shopping and looking for some grub there are multiple restaurants close by and in the shopping center such as a Mountain Mikes, Togos, (these two are in the shopping center) and a Jakes (pizza, burgers and kind of like a sports bar) just down the road. Overall a great place with lots of convenient places near it. As you can see, 5/5 in my book.

I am giving this store a 5 star only because of an employee Parvanah who works in the floral department. I had an event come up and while all the other employees in the bakery and at the other safeways were so rude and not at all helpful Parvanah truly made it all happen for me. I wanted some garlands and also wanted some floral arrangements and she was so patient in accommodating all my changes and even though she had never done this before she made it all happen for me. She was not rude like the other staff. I wish Safeway would do more in hiring more hardworking and diligent employees like her. Thanks Parvanah for making it all work for me!

Typical Safeway. Okay for basic groceries. Nothing special about their produce and steaks. Location is reasonably clean and there is plenty of parking for quick trips. Not impressed with the people who work here. One time the cashier forgot to put an item in my cart. When I realized this and went back, I saw that the lane was closed (I guess I was the last customer before going on break) and the item was still on the counter wrapped in a bag.

Ive been shopping here for 48 years. But I really liked Genes Fine Foods, then it closed. We cook a lot and want basic items. SW has good prices on water but the fruits and veges quality are below Genes. Staff says that the reason they dont have items is that we were shorted. We want organic (no pesticides/herbicides and other cancer causing agents) and we want it to look great, not torn up and half dead Romaine.

I found it hard to social distance in the Safeway because it was crowded. There was no control limiting the number of people on the like Wole Foods and Trader Joes implemented. This was early I the shelter in place, so it may have improved I the last few months, but I can get what i need in stores that arent mobbed so Ill likely avoid it while the pandemic is still an issue.

This is a relatively new, modern Safeway, comfortably designed to display a large, varied inventory without seeming crowded. This store features a large produce department, as well as expensive bakery, deli and liquor departments (with an extensive selection of wine in every price range). This store also has a Starbucks with all the usual appointments.

For a local neighborhood grocery store, Safeway has what you need 99% of the time. Now there are local produce choices, good selection of meat and seafood, a Starbucks inside and Amazon Lockers are now conveniently located. Theres a deli for meats cut to order and a good wine selection. The only thing missing is a pharmacy (and maybe a Wells Fargo if you need that).

Safeway sucks overall these days (being a former employee in the 80s through the 90s where you actually made a living wage with great benefits and retirement, plus it was a not an easy job to get), but this Safeway which caters to a richer crowd does not seem to have the long lines which is synonymous with the company these days. That shows their kiss-ass priorities. Its unfortunate nowadays they pay their employees a crappie wage with crappie benefits and are desperate to hire anyone.

Front end manager has absolutely no customer service skills and they give an overhead announcement (for all kinds of inappropriate announcements) when Ecolab is on their way in to get ready for inspection, who does that? I have had nothing but bad service everytime I stop here save one, I usually just joke that I should leave a bad review because this store needs some serious customer service help but after being stared at by the front end manager for yet another transaction without so much as a Hi, welcome to Safeway, I hate my life, I decided to leave one. If they were not the only store between the 85 and home I would not come but alas.... Convenience.the amount of people who are in their 50s + here but still suck at customer service is astounding. It seems like they are getting a few new people in who are actually capable of saying customary greetings so.... I guess that is an improvement.

This is the best Safeway in the southbay Cupertino Saratoga area. Well stocked, organized and excellent bakery and meat dept. Two things to look out for - people drive like clueless out to lunch idiots in the parking lot and for some reason cant grasp the concept of parking. The other thing is they dont staff enough baggers and customers more often than not left to bag their own groceries which subsequently leads to a congested check out line. Have fun, happy shopping and dont drive like a self entitled rich jerk.
