Hooray, a place to stuff the plastic bags into the recycle bin outside of this neighborhood Safeway. A compact, dense, clean store with sense of pride that only a neighborhood can feel. There are thoughtful and copious displays of cold meats, prepared dishes to-go, organic produce. The floral section offers a wide price range from affordable-to-anyone to creative, special-moments bouquets. The wine section provides the same same with extra premium wines. The store seems to be well staffed for quick checkout. Theres always Starbucks next door for the final send-off.

Decent location. Doesnt get as crowded as the other Safeway near here but does have fewer grocery options. If youre just needing some basic items without a hassle, this is the place to go. Everyone was super nice as well.

Salud has the best beer selection in the city. Their wood fired pizza is to die for and the environment is hip and relaxed. Come to get some beer for takeaway or sample their amazing draft list while eating neopolitan style pizza.10/10 would recommend.

After paying for groceries was harassed by security. It’s the amount of bad karma that will follow you, your children, and haunt your friends and family. I’m so sorry for your incompetence.Its not okay. Its like you singled somebody out for how they look, which is incredibly scary if you have authority. Please talk to people like a normal human instead of staying silent and harassing people through a microphone.

This is my favorite Safeway. It’s not too big, so it’s not too hard to navigate, but everything is always in stock and it is always very clean. Also in a nice location. Selection is great. The only thing they should add is self-checkouts because sometimes the checkout lines are long-ish. Good selection of sushi and fresh-cut fruit too.

Is a perfect little neighborhood store. It may not have the selection of larger stores. However, it is excellent for quick trips, things you may have forgotten or even for getting quick meals ready after work or during the day.The selection can be quite limited because of the size of the store, but the employees are very helpful at assisting you to find what you need.

This is a slightly smaller Safeway than some of the others in Mountain View/Los Altos. It had fewer registers and no self checkout, but we were there late at night and there wasn’t a wait. They have paper bags, which I like, unlike the other Safeways that only have plastic bags these days.

This Safeway is ok. Its smaller than the one on Shoreline. The only thing I dont like about this location is that there is no self checkout. And sometimes there are only one or two registers open to checkout. So the line can get long.

Safeway really depends on the day and the person. Some of the workers are really great and outgoing. And really helpful. But some not so friendly. You can mostly find anything you need not always. Its got pretty cheap vegetables for my bunny.

This Safeway is not so big but has pretty much everything I need when groceries shopping. The staff are friendly and usually there was no lines. A neighborhood gem and my go to place, especially when I want to be in and out fast.

This is a much smaller Safeway so the selection is not as varied as other locations. I would have given it more stars but I saw an employee putting a non-sanitized cart into the bundle of sanitized carts, something that seems pretty inappropriate during these times.I do appreciate the efforts others went into in order to keep social distance but it is pretty hard in their small isles if people are going opposite directions. May be worthwhile to add those one way lane stickers into the mix to avoid people unnecessarily crossing paths.

I love everything about this Safeway except the checkout experience. Its hit or miss. Sometimes its good. More its frequently frustrating in the the line is 10 people deep in each of only two checkout lines available. Why is it consistently so backed up?The check out experience ruins an otherwise great Safeway experience.

Deli chicken and staff questionable. I ordered 16 pieces which should be 4 pieces of each and got 5 wings 5 drumsticks 1 breast and 5 thighs. Low quality meat and small pieces of chicken. Other than that is a nice small niche store but needs to make checkout process faster. No self check out and usually not enough lanes open.

Glad to have a Safeway in this neighborhood. Staff are nice and helpful although there seems to be very few of them manning the store. I get my Artesano bread here. Not to mention that bagels here are not bad at 79 cents or so each. Helps when you need breakfast in a hurry on the go (Starbucks is just beside it). Most items I need in a Safeway store are here.

Was at the cook food dept getting chicken was shock that the lady serving was not wearing a mask. I inform her that she should use it as she is serving fresh food per CDC guideline. I was shock she gave a rude comment. She failed to understand that it was for her well being as well as the customers. Every employee was wearing a face mask except her in the store and worst of all she is serving food. I report it to the Manager on duty and she took action immediately, but Safeway should remind all employees that this is a strict mandatory store policy or stop selling cook food. Since action was taken I will not report this to the City. This does not reflect on all the rest of the store personals as there were very professional and helpful when I visit the store frequently.

Newest store in the area, and cleaner looking than most in the area. But its a smaller store and doesnt have a few things like the usual Starbucks booth or a bakery. You can still get donuts and the Safeway baked bread, but obviously its coming from somewhere else. There is a good sized deli with hot and cold food. Also some kind of vegetable bar where staff puts out precut fruit and vegetables. One interesting thing is that you can get your mire poix --the chopped veggies like carrots, celery, and onions here for making soups or whatever you need them for. Something most grocery stores dont have. Usually seems to be quite uncrowded, especially at night.

New Safeway is conveniently located in Mountain View but the service isnt always the greatest. Lacks a pharmacy and mostly has larger sizes than most Safeways. A big improvement over fresh & easy but not an amazing store on its own. There are some good deals, especially if you have the app.

I visited my parents today (3/3/18) and decided to buy some groceries for them. Thus, we stop at this store which is conveniently located near their location. The store is well stocked, clean, and very inviting feeling. However, my experience took a 360 degree turn when It was time to check out. I was shocked with the poor service delivered by the cashier And for that reason I nominate Connie Noyola for the Oscars Worst Customer service ever in an area where this should be easy to delivered to each and every customer who walks in/out. She was just rude and never apologized for her wrong doing. Needless to say, this was shocking. Check it out for yourself and you will agree with me. I informed the store manager and if she cares about her store she will take action towards this type of employees who will hinder her overall performance. Remove your bad apples and your store will shine even more..!

This is a new location and has been needed. It is smaller than the mega stores and everyone is helpful. Lines are short. The only hesitation I would mention about this spot is that the parking lot is crowded and not easy to get in and out of. The Safeway on Shoreline in Mountain View is very difficult to shop at because the lines are long and they do not seem to hire enough checkers:

Great grocery store - check the weekly specials and coupons on the app. No bakery on site (products brought in from neighboring locations), so slightly smaller selection there, but shorter, and more efficient checkout lines than the stores on Shoreline or San Antonio.

I saw mooncakes and pineapple cakes. They were the only Safeway and American supermarket on the peninsula that carried these items and they sold well despite their their limited quantities. Every year I wonder who will start selling mooncakes. Neither Walmart nor Trader Joes have came through yet.

Tldr: teething problems with new checkout equipment.Being a nearby resident, I got a flier in the mail offering $15 off a $50 or more beer/wine/liquor purchase. Perfect since I was probably going to buy beer here eventually anyways. The selection was good for a store this size, smaller than their other locations in mountain view.The checkout lines were long. An employee helpfully tried to open a new line and called me over. Oh wait, cant actually open any more checkout lines, machines wont let them have more than a set number open at a time or something. Sheepishly sorry. Not his fault, he tried to help but was thwarted by what I gather is a bizarre store policy or maybe just a mistake in some configuration. Otherwise, why build 3X as many lanes as the system will let the employees staff? Funny to remember this was a problem that did not, could not, exist a few decades ago.Back in my original line, the customer in front of me is having some trouble getting the terminal to accept his Safeway card. The checker has to enter the number for him. Nothing alarming about this yet but in hindsight its part of a pattern.The barcode reader wont read one of my beers even through the label is flawless as far as we can tell. Manual entry. Then it wont read my coupon, the whole reason I came here tonight. Some kind of manual discount, which involves a bunch of button presses and a badge swipe. When I sign for my purchase and tap Accept, the terminal freezes. Manual accept of some sort.These two checkers I interacted with were both staying positive and being as helpful as they could be. I hope the manager recognizes theyre working extra hard to make up for these problems. Looks exhausting.The final insult was the yellow plastic no slip surface on the ramp to the parking lot. Its so rough it jostled my cart all over and tipped over and broke two of my beers Id just spent forever buying. Its not like I was sprinting, its just that rough a surface, with knobs half the height of the casters on my grocery cart. Youd need some kind of off-road suspension on your cart to negotiate this thing. Theres no other way you can go either, its this or hop the curb.Next time I come here (which, lets face it, I will since its right next to my house), Im paying cash and not buying any more at a time than I can carry out in my hands.
