The staff people are very nice and helpful, and the promotions are great. I have Just4U (now Safeway for U) and use it regularly. This Safeway has been my go-to store since 2017. Every department is excellent.

Scotts Valley, CA Safeway is getting out of hand with their prices! Went to buy a 20 pack of Mission flour tortillas today (2/2/24) and just about had a heart attack when I saw their price was nearly $8. At Christmas I sent my daughter to buy a 10# bag of sugar and it was $15. After doing some research I found that most other stores were charging less than $10 for the same brand, same weight.

Amy the baker in SV Safeway saved my Christmas! My father had been wanting a Black Forest cake I had completely forgotten in ordering it. When I walked in to asked about ordering, I was told that they were backed up on orders but did ask for information incase they had extras. I got a call on Christmas Eve that Amy is able to make a Black Forest cake. I surprised my dad with the cake, and he was overwhelmed with joy, as that is the only thing he wanted for Christmas.Thank you Amy!

I understand policy for equal exchanged items. But the purpose of this exchange was because the fruit assortment we purchased tasted like soap. Like it all had been soaking in soap. Mistakes happen. Everyones overworked. But in this exchange we were stopped for grabbing a different priced assortment of fruits. Same size container as the one we had before. We were told to grab the cheaper one. Didnt see what we had before to be avaliable. All that was left close to what we wanted had mango. (4 dollar diff. But didnt know that.) Is it because mango is more expensive? Definitely felt like I was some kind of trickster. Nice to be labeled...

This Safeway market is ten times better than the Safeway in Santa Cruz midtown and 20 times better than the one on Mission, West side Santa Cruz Employees are super friendly and helpful every time I’ve shopped here.Everything is organized and easy to find also check out is quick and they don’t force you to use the self check outs like the one on Mission

My store. Been going to the Scotts Valley Safeway for 13 years now. Rarely been disappointed. When I have been disappointed, they have never hesitated to rectify the situation. When they have had to rectify a situation, they have never hesitated to make it make it better. Great store with a great staff. This particular store and the people who maintain it not only serve the Scotts Valley community, but also have people coming all the way from the East and West Santa Cruz communities. Interesting thing about that is, both of those communities already have a Safeway store readily available. Those people actually choose to drive to Scotts Valley to shop. One of the managers, Kelly, is an absolute gift from Heaven. Scotts Valley Safeway rocks!!!And nothing has changed, since Google asked. Still awesome. Still awesome. Still awesome.

The guy Peter was super rude to a customer. Who was in front of me trying to use a paper based gift card. But, this Peter insisted that they don’t accept printed gift card and asked the customer to call the manager tomorrow. That customer said that he used it in the same way same store a while ago and asked for the explanation. Peter just “pushed” him to pay with credit card and threatened to call the police. It’s so ridiculous to see that how Safeway can hire such a staff.

I am fiercely loyal to this Safeway and it’s for one reason: ROSE THE CASHIER. I seriously feel like a kid on Christmas morning when I get her as my cashier. She’s so funny and has great energy, it makes me understand what people say someone has infectious energy.Also the workers who handle the carts do a great job, some store’s parking lots are chaotic, not this one. It’s the little things in life I guess

I went there today to order flower arrangements for a friend who is recovering from cancer. The lady who worked in flower department, Eliana, was very nice and helpful. She arranged the most beautiful vase for my friend. I highly recommend to shop at this 24 hour Safeway especially their flower department.

Sanitation guidelines well established. Carts are cleaned constantly. Ironically with less customers there are more lines open. I love the produce. Always fresh. They have some Hispanic foods as well. This place has the best oranges in town!

This was during the worst time of Covid. Nice & clean. Perfect customer service. Starbucks inside. I absolutely love this particular Safeway. This Safeway always has the best avocados and roma tomatoes. They also have an in-store coffee shop thats really good. They have run out of a couple items (milk, creamer, sodas) but for the most part theyre well stocked. They also have 4 self-checkout registers, of which Im a big fan! Definitely my favorite Safeway!

They never seem to have what Im looking for in this small Safeway.Never the kind of cat treats that we use or any of the great flavors of Noosa Yogurts. Such as blood orange, strawberry, etc. Always are stocked on coconut, which I cant stand.Also doesnt seem to work properly with the deals that I have downloaded. The staff always says that they never have any connection here and do not seem to know much of anything about the subject.I have to say though, that the people doing the stocking in the evening are always pleasant and very helpful!

This is the one Safeway that never got a remodel. It is kinda out dated. Even though it is clean and the floor polished, it is a little bit dreary. The people that work there are usually pretty cheery.

I went to the deli to get a sandwich and it ended up tasting fairly dry. Ive enjoyed Boars Head turkey before but it wasnt that great this time. The Swiss cheese was dry. The French bread was on the hard side. It was expensive for a fairly plain sandwich at $14.99.

I enjoy shopping at Safeway.It has a great selection of meats and poultry. A wonderful selection of frozen foods. A tasty selection of breads. A deli that provides different sandwiches,. Salads, . Cheese and hot foods ready to eat.. theres also a green groceries area that has many fruits and vegetables. Some veggies already sliced or chopped.This store has what you might need or was looking for. Beautiful plants and flowers can be found there.Very helpful service people.Clean store with many shopping carts.

Normally the Scotts Valley Safeway is friendly and efficient, however this last trip on 6/14, was truly a hassle. My guess is the checker was new, as it took forever to get a price adjustment I was due on each of the items. He kept telling me he could only get 2 to go through the register. What made it infuriating was I told him at least 5 times that the coupon item was also in their coupon book. Finally I asked him if he had one, he replied yes, at that point he did grab it, took forever to find the item in question (the good note is he did find it) and was finally able to correctly complete the transaction. I hope for the sake of future Safeway customers he listens to ALL the information provided, acts on it sooner and saves everyone the unnecessary loss of time and aggravation.

They installed self checkout and what used to be a quick in-out is now a long, long wait for service. It’s funny because this one used to have much shorter lines than the Felton location.So skip this location if buying alcohol- not worth the wait. Felton has a worse wine selection, but faster service.

Went in last night and despite it being late, I feel like this should not have happened either way. I love dogs but theres a time and place where they should be, and a huge dog in a grocery store that was clearly not a service dog was in there. Not the biggest issue but still unacceptable. Then went down the international aisle, and a team member thought it would be acceptable to toss a box off of the U-boat down the aisle as if it were a bowling alley 20 feet away. Mind you I was still in the aisle shopping.Then went into frozen and a lot of the product boxes were shoved in and partially opened due to the shelves being too close together. I understand we are all dealing with a lot, but as an essential worker as well, id never do this. Walked around for maybe 5 minutes, and left with nothing. Huge bummer

I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have dropped my items and left the store because of the lines are so incredibly long. You cant have two checkers if theres more than 10-15 people per line. When I asked for more people checking or a manger, the kid looked at me and said I dont know.

This Safeway is conveniently located if you are camping in the Henry Cowell Redwoods. You dont need to carry nothing from home and just get here and pick your next meal!Employees are super friendly and corteous.

This Safeway and Safeway Corporate now support ANTI MASKERS! I would give negative stars if I could! I feel cheated and swindled by Safeway into thinking this was a safe shopping environment during the pandemic but it was just a lie. The manager told me all they can do is ask and if you tell them you have a medical exemption they just accept that with no proof. I will never shop at Safeway again now that the cards are on the table. Apparently the few hundred dollars brought in by the few anti mask customers is MUCH more important to them than the health and safety of its regular customers and employees. THEY ARE ANTI MASK, ANTI LIFE, ANTI SCIENCE, and ANTI EQUALITY.

This Safeway in Scotts Valley is one of my favorite supermarkets. I go to Safeway because of good selection, good Safeway Club prices, very courteous and helpfull staff. I would give Safeway in general a higher rating if the everyday prices were more competitive. For example Sumanos bakery goods cost more at Safeway than at most other supermarket chains and smaller grocery stores. I have the same experience with most produce. If the items are on sale Safeway has very competitive prices. Checkers are efficient and friendly.

The service here is very erratic. It was thought when the last incompetent manager was transferred out with his nazi team that service would improve but the new staff is proving to be just as bad.On a recent visit pointed out to a member of management that some product was expired on the shelf (Nov. 2015) and that they had more of this on the shelf. They thanked me in a flat tone and took the item that I had nearly bought. Thinking ok that was my good deed I bought my other items and left.The next evening my friend and I came back to shop and passing that item I noticed it was full again. Curiously we checked the items and noticed everything had the same expiration date as the one I had first turned in.Reporting it to a different manager they at least took the items and removed the labels off them to prevent restocking.Still...we are now double checking what we buy because the impression is they dont bother cycling the old for the new.Buyer beware

This safeway, in my opinion is a great place to shop. People pass up the disgusting Felton safeway to come here.They have a large selection of produce, meat, and most other items you might need. The prices are comparable to nob hill across the street, the staff are typically friendly and the kicker is that it is open 24/7.My go to place in the valley for shopping forsure.

Safeway in Scotts Valley is so much more of a pleasant experience than Safeway in Soquel. The store is clean, unlike the filthy floors in Soquel, there are no boxes of stock in the aisles as in Soquel, the shelves are actually well stocked, unlike Soquel, where there are numerous holes in amount of stock, & the clerks at the cash registers are cheerful & very quick at their jobs, unlike Soquel, where the lines are long & the clerks are slow & act like they hate their jobs.
