As with all other Safeways in California; this one has the best deals as well. The store is clean, the prices are reasonable (with the only issue being how expensive the Bay Area is), and the staff are nice and sem-professional. One of my favorite go-to grocery franchises

This is the best Safeway ever! The store is clean and the staff is very friendly! The manager was super friendly and helpful! He toook care of me and was the nicest manager I have ever spoken to! He went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience here at this Safeway! I would definitely recommend this location if you are in the area! This experience made it the best grocery store in town!

Have to say rhis is a very next facility staff is friendly and courteous and competent. There were no problems and i would go back there again. I went on a holiday weekend with a skeleton crew working. Highways and out in less than 20 minutes and if it worked out just great. Everyone can see from the pictures, plenty of parking that is in a reasonable distance from the facility. Lots of plenty of handicap parking area code

The store removed hand baskets from the entrances; you have to go to customer service counter to get one. Also, now they are playing annoying ads all the time. Choose another location if you can.UPD: they requested me to change the review, but the baskets are still removed from easy access, and the ads are still blasting from the ceiling.

They have a wide range of flowers, and fresh fruits and vegetables available all time. They do even have a wide variety of meat but I recommend to go during the day time or when the meat counter is open to get fresh meat or else you end up with the frozen meat. If you are a club member you will have so many offers and sales going on through out the year. They have red box available inside the store and they have the glacier water available right outside the entrance.

Im not from around the area & was in a rush to get home. I shouldve checked the packages though; you live & learn. But I dont think Ill be buying ANY bread from this store. The best by date says 4/14/22 but when I looked closely and then opened it, it became clear. I bought the bread on 4/3/22. I bought 2 but didnt trust the other one because it was best by 4/1/22. After this experience, Ill be way more careful now because of my loss of trust in best by dates. For both employees & customers whore buying bread: CHECK NOT ONLY THE DATE BUT ALSO CHECK FOR MOLD!

As a driver, it’s been always convenient to find a pit stop and grab some snacks and lunch. Most Safeway I went the bathroom were clean but this location really need to tidy up their bathroom and storage space in the hallway.

(Date of complaint 9/20/23 approx 6:00pm location 2341 S Winchester Blvd, Los Gatos California) The workers in deli seemed completely oblivious to our existence to the point of disrespectfully ignoring customer service and not only us but people behind us as well. Now we did try for 20 minutes to get their attention and eventually got one of the Spanish speaking workers to get some of the deli food so I could let the rest of the customers behind me to order.Once the lady packed the food, an elderly Caucasian women came in only to tell us that the deli is closed. When I asked what time does the deli close? She responded “It closes when I say it closes.” I was speechless and so was the other customers. We both shook our heads to the surprise.

Good inventory. Manager was helpful and professional. One time, an employee told me there was no more juice in stock, after I found the shelf empty. She was totally not interested in helping, but interested in talking to other workers. I found the extra stock of juice at the back of the store. Ask for a manager, the employees dont care. Carts are often chained up. They have some inside at night. Probably due to the vagrants in the area.

I used self checkout and accidentally clicked on regular sized watermelon instead of mini watermelon so it’s charged me $17 for 2 when it should have been $5. I had to go to guest services to get the refund and the line was super long and not managed well. The lady that finally came to help at self checkout was not very professional. She kept saying she was doing too many things at once and kept going into the locked room on the side for a phone call so the service desk was unmanned. No one to help and a line of people waiting… would not recommend this location. No staff available to help and staff doesn’t seem to want to work there either.

This is a great Safeway branch with helpful workers. Sometimes, there could be missing items but more often, I can find what I came for. Always clean and no problem with parking. The surrounding area be stores could help someimprovement ‘though.

The store is good however the pharmacy is terrible here. On more than one occasion Ive been treated rudely, delays made getting my RX and then another time they billed me incorrectly for my medication. The first time I questioned the amount that they were charging me the clerk was rude to me on the phone stating the amount she gave me was correct and so the day of picking up my prescription I decided to try to get somebody else on the phone and again I questioned the amount with proof that I had that my prescription should not cost that much. She didnt even apologize she just said oh I see the mistake that was made. Then when I went to go pick up my medication again still no apology to their mistake. I just feel that they are so unprofessional there and so unwilling to put the customer first.

I went into the store to pick up something for lunch, went to the back to use the bathroom. I knocked on the bathroom door a couple times and this short Mexican girl with an attitude finally came out and the began getting confrontational with me and wouldnt let go of the door. My service dog began getting scared and barking. There was an associate from the store in the back where the restrooms were at and I asked her to come over and assist and she ignored me. This girl finally let go of the door and tried to slam it in my face. Dude whats up with safeway? Shouldnt the associate who was just standing there watching have done something? Im tired of being bullied and pushed around by people and if I ever come back to your store and see this girl again next time I might not be as mild mannered. I didnt do anything to deserve this kind of disrespect. Im not going to let this go. Now Im going to associate Campbell with this particular situation and im going to feel negative about coming thru here when I have to work. I drive Uber full time and I have a lot on my plate. I didnt deserve this at all. Shame on you Safeway. Ill get my lunch somewhere else from now on.✌

I have visited this specific Safeway in Campbell, CA on Winchester on several occasions. Not only am I treated poorly by some, of its employees, but, the restrooms are either not in use (out of order) or filled with trash. On April 5th, 2023, there was food and trash in the restroom, which I seen a few days prior to April 5th, 2023. So, its evident that employees are not, checking the restrooms regularly to ensure its cleanliness. However, today, Sunday, April 23rd, 2023, the restroom that I used was clean (thank God). The second restroom was out of service, but, clean. Outside of the restrooms, this review was to highlight the mistreatment I experience when visiting Safeway (Campbell, CA - Winchester). Greg, who was the associate packaging food in the back near the restrooms has always been very rude when I came to the store. When I asked him if he had the key to the restroom, hell state the key is upfront near Self-Checkout. Today, I walk to the front by Self-Checkout as Greg instructed and spoke with Stephanie and asked if she had the key to the restroom. Stephanie, then responds by saying they dont give the key out to customers and that she would have someone sent back their to open it for me. I told her what Greg told me to do, then she proceeds by telling me that as of this morning they can no longer give the key out to customers. I understood and went back to the restroom and waited for an associate to come and unlock the door. I waited several minutes, and politely asked Greg if he could call assistance over his phone, he refused to do so. And told me that someone was coming in a rude dismissive manner. I waited until I looked inside the out of order restroom to see if the toilet flushed, but, it did not. Finally, after checking the other restroom and the possiblity of using it if it was only a door lock issue, finally, an associate came to unlock the door. The associate appeared to be aggravated when I simply asked if he was the associate I was waiting for? He stated he wasnt sure and apologized.Overall, Greg is dismissive each time I interact with him, and Stephanie could have done better with her verbal delivery when I interacted with her.Prayerfully, there will be some training/coaching for the employees and a reminder to each employee to ensure the restrooms remain clean, safe, and usable.Also, treat ALL customers with respect. I have Never been so disrespected! I am new to the neighborhood and store# 1293 I have had multiple displeasing situations. In the last encounter, I was humiliated and the cashier insinuated I was stilling. I asked if there was a problem, I told her I was trying to use the self checkout and she refused to help me she continued to insinuate that I was stealing. I told her, I have a job and can pay, she laughed at me. I asked for her name and she speed walked away and brought back with her multiple workers that said nothing. I addressed them and asked for her name and the manager, and one of the told me that he was the manager, he then refused to give me his name and the cashiers. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Great grocery store! Safeway is one of my favorites to go to. Always look for little 50% off stickers on things. And make it a point to find their Close Out Shelve where they put all kinds of items for 50% off!!!!!!!! And they are always very clean too!!!!!¡ And thats Huge!

I came in on the evening of 8/3/22, rushing to get a few items, nice lady, Iesha Scott, greeted me with a smile, while advising me of sales/offers of some of my items. I slowed down and listened while she pointed me to various areas to find the savings! This made my whole day! I’m not used to excellent customer service like this, but every time I come to this location, everyone goes above and beyond to be positive and helpful (except for the security)

This Safeway was clean and well stocked (except for Very Vanilla Silk Milk), but lacked customer service. The floral department smelled a little funk. It was rotting flower stems actually. I pulled a bunch out of a bucket and well...funk!

While employees are polite, service has gone way down hill. The sliced meat counter today had 5 people staffing it, but they are all Very Busy not helping customers.This has been going on the last few months, employees will be in the back, even working in the front cleaning, leaving customers waiting 5 to 10 minutes for service.Its almost like wanting a pound of roast beef, is taking time out of their busy day, as of you are interrupting whatever else they were doing.I thought of discussing this with the customer service counter, but of course it was empty too, and last time I hit the call button, it was 10 minutes before anyone bothered to show.Sorry to bother you Safeway Employees! Sorry to take time out of your busy day!Well, Ill move on to another store... one which sees a customer, and wants to sell them things.

The majority of the people that work there are kind and respectful and courteous. The manager on the other hand is something else. I am a service connected veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was denied entry because of my service animal. Even though I showed all the paperwork and his ID the manager still refuse to let me purchase anything in that store. As of now have contacted the original office and also headquarters and has spoken to an attorney about this matter. Its a shame that people such as her become manager and yet no nothing about customer service or just being a human being in general

The staff was not helpful the clerk was I GUESS WAS HAVINGABAD DAY. I bagged most my groceries. The other customers not happy about that took me a little bit. Needed to use the restroom and nobody in the store knew the code so very uncomfortable. But then I heard on the intercom that they were getting the code because the customer need to use the restroom but when I asked the 3-4 people I asked did nothing to help me.

This Safeway is well stocked on most things. They at this time are low on toilet paper & paper towels, but I was able to pick up a pack of the towels. Theyre very helpful. I need something at butcher, but they are closed today. A employee re-stalking items let me know they are closed, but then got me things I needed right away. Offered replacements for things they couldnt get out of the case. That was very helpful because I didnt have a backup plan. So thank you Safeway 😊 for all your help today.

After having been a customer of this store for many years, on sunday this week I was waiting in the checkout line, checking things on my phone as I and most other people always do when the checkout person accused me of trying to film her. I politely explained that I was in fact just checking my phone but she said she didnt like the way I was holding it at her. I was completely and utterly baffled by this, I think I suggested she had rather severe paranoia, then she refused to serve me. It transpired that this person was (allegedly) the store manager.I have filed a complaint with Safeway head office regarding this.I will never shop at this store again.

Open till 12AM, stuff ok, produce ok, most of the time the have everything I need, deli not so the “Safeway “! Ask them when it was made!! Prices are a bit higher then stores around, and they never have Crown Royal... 😖other then that it’s pretty clean and solid... the Starbucks here is super slow though, if you stop by for a coffee, be prepared to wait... mostly 1-2 stuff at a time! If you order on STB app make sure to order 30 M ahead of time, or as soon as you wake up lol... or just stop by Hemilton they better! Much better!

Well maintained and easy to locate items. 3 employees were at the service counter, but only 1 (very friendly) guy was actually helping customers. Another customer came up while I was waiting, asking where to find bread at, but 1 of the non-helpful employees couldnt answer him. I had to show him where it was located! After about 8 minutes, i finally got helped.

This Safeway is hit or miss depending on which way the wind blows. The prices are the same. The lines are always long and they seem short staffed on checkers. The employees are great with an exception of one or two. Had to drop it down today because I went in this morning and asked for an electrical shopping cart to get around (having surgery soon) and I get inside, they have 1 and its dead. I asked an employee if they had another one and she said no. And walked away.

The selection is standard Safeway fare, but a lot of the staff on the floor are very not my problem when they dont have an item in stock and refuse to give any kind of estimation as to when the items will be in stock. Also, if you plan to shop late, be prepared to wait in line, as they can have 15-20 minute waits at or around 10pm

Usually dissapointed with Safeway because I cannot find the item I want. Recently could not find a $5 Friday special of ribs at 2 local Safeway stores at 1pm on a Friday the manager claimed they sold out almost immediately lol. Then had to go to 3 stores for a frozen coffee I liked such a hassle.

Excellent store striving to be the best in our community. I spoke to the CEO of the company (thats the corporate CEO) last week and asked him what the companys vision was for how it would better serve its customers. He assured me that Albertsons-Safeway is currently analyzing every aspect of how it serves customer needs and will continue to take customer input from people like me to better serve us all.

This is the 3rd time I have come in to get a deli sandwich and have gotten an attitude from the lady that makes the sandwiches. If you apply for a job and dont like it then dont go and give off negativity because people are standing on line. Very unprofessional and this Safeway will lose my business and many colleagues that have asked me if the deli is worth it, I will tell them to not waste their time. I thought that maybe this time would be different but there has been no change. If you read this comment I am saving you a trip, I would rather find a subway then to get treated the way I did there.

This Safeway is pretty bad. Stock levels are poor and inconsistent, and not just because of covid its always been bad. Now they dont even have bags at the checkout and of course were still not allowed to bring our own bags, so good luck carrying your groceries. I go to this Safeway when I need just a few things and cross my fingers that theyll have at least part of what Im looking for. Go to the one on Hamilton west of San Tomas, its way better.

Been shopping there for 20-plus years. Its never been great, but tonight was just horrible. Mothers Day is tomorrow, the lines were long, and there were TWO lanes open... with TWO staff persons available! One was the on-duty manager, and she was apologetic and embarrassed that there was nothing she could do about it. This in addition to years of inconsistent stocking, terrible inventory management, and non-responsive upper management. But my convenient options are limited, so no wonder they dont give a f#@*!

First off this Safeway needs some major repairs. The other two neighboring locations are pretty new and are in great condition. This location is old and neglected and the location always has homeless loitering in the front.Avoid the bakery like the plague. I legit went in two weeks ago to pre-order a cake for pick up today with an employee named Mary. I initially placed a different date on the order form than intended so I immediately called once I got home to fix the mistake. Mary answered and let me know she would fix the order sheet and my cake would be ready for pick up today. I went to go pick up my cake. Waited for literally 20 minutes to be greeted. Maria started to insist we couldn’t pay for some cupcakes I had grabbed and set on the counter at the bakery. I let her know I was actually their to pick up my cake. She cane back and let me know my cake wasn’t ready. I explained who I had spoke to and she began to tell me the order form was never changed by Mary. I told her that it was important that we had the cake because it was for a party the following day and that we would be back to pick it up that morning. She then began to tell me that she wasn’t sure if the cake decorator would be in that early. I told her that the original time that was on the form was at 9AM and if there wasn’t going to be someone there then why the hell would she allow that pick up time to begin with? She then said. “I don’t know, I won’t be here”..After going around in circles she finally agreed that the cake would be ready tomorrow morning. This department seems extremely unorganized, possibly understaffed and no training in customer service. Next year we won’t be ordering from them.

Safeway is my store and this is MY Safeway.They have a superior meat department in my opinion, ACTUAL butchers!I love the mark down meat section, good for Safeway and NOT wasteful! This is the only Safeway I buy meat from. Since meat is so expensive, when I do buy meat I start here and everything else is comparable or better in price. Of course Pam and the entire meat dept staff are great!All the other staff are exceptional, always helpful and professional. (the store the bathrooms do need work, however.)The new store on Hamilton is ... new, and the produce section is bigger, . but thats about all its going for it. I dont care for the meat dept at all and overall its seems more expensive to me.Thx

This Safeway is generally pretty disappointing. The restroom is either filthy or out of order. The store is usually pretty dirty and hard to navigate because there are pallets of stuff everywhere. Also, the service is bad here. No one helps you and the cashiers are slow and rude.

Good afternoon I just want to start off by saying I dive for amazon and this Safeway is the closest place with a Starbucks so I come here often and I’m usually greeted with great customer service except when the heavy set woman is working. I proceed to order some coffee and noticed the person that would be making my coffee was Coughing into her hand so I asked if she minded putting on gloves she tells me she doesn’t have to put gloves on with an attitude as if we are not in a pandemic... so I refuse the coffee and continue delivering my packages.on the way out I see the store supervisor and proceeded to tell her what happened she was very dismissive and actually kept backing up from me even though I was standing in one place not walking towards her at all as if I had Covid meanwhile Her barista is Coughing into her hand... bad experience in general

So Im trying to buy my mother in law a bottle of wine, so I pull my phone out of my purse to check wine reviews cause I know nothing about wine and these 2 employees (didnt get their names or Id put their names here) walked up to me and EXTREMELY RUDELY said I saw you put something in your purse I didnt put anything in my purse and when I showed her the inside of my purse and wallet she proceeded to tell me to leave the store because she didnt like my attitude. She refused to get the store manager and i told several other employees and nothing was done and as I was walking towards the door to leave this same employee proceeds to shove me like shes a child. Im definitely getting ahold of the company and this store manager if this is the type of employees they hire they should be held responsible as well

What an opposite customer service experience from Milpitas & other Safeway locations.I had items in hand while walking past freezers ... hence triggered the need for a bathroom stop.Big sign pointing to the testrooms.BUT YOU NEED A CODE to enter!Nearest employee [a slight walk at that] said that I need go to front of store ... apparently to present my case I need the code?Therefore I left my stuff & just decided enough!Besides Safeway prices are by far not best.

Would have ranked a 3 star but the staff here push it up a star.A little disappointed in that this location seems to be on the tail end of the improvements and updating that seems to be going on in other locations. I went there at 2pm on a Thursday afternoon.There was an attendant relaxing in the shade, and lots of bags of recyclables lying around. Across the way, in this side parking lot were several homeless people hanging around smoking. I approached the guy, who asked me if I wanted a receipt, and I said no. He said leave your stuff over there. And he told me they were on lunch break. Another worker came over and he told another lady customer that he was on break. I just left my stuff and left, not wishing to hang around. I get the feeling that telling people they are on break is how they skim money - they cash in peoples stuff after they leave.

Well, today there were just two cashiers. One had 7 in line, the other had 8, and the self checkout line went back about halfway down the freezers. Its time for a wakey-wakey to the employees of the 2341 South Winchester SAFEWAY Deli. After a half-hour walk, a fierce hunger had overtaken me. I walked into this location with the intent of ordering something hot and savory. I approached the deli with just the item in mind but stood there unnoticed for what must have been 3 minutes.There were 3 employees there altogether who I reasoned should require no call to service: one of them, a young man by the name of Koda (I hope I have spelled that right) stood idle, swinging his arms while turned away and seemingly staring into space. I noticed another worker, Regina, attempting to help a woman (who I could have sworn didnt walk uo until after I did ) so I proceeded to wait for my own turn at service. It was at that moment that Koda swerves around and announces Can I help you, sir, but not to he is address me but a man who had wandered up just few seconds ago. He didnt have to say a word.At that point, I had resolved not to be served by Koda but to wait for Regina to finish. When I was finally asked what I could be helped with, I placed my order to which the incredible response was, I think its kinda burnt...let me check... LOL I was prompted to make an alternate selection. (Um, no.) I walked out with my money in hand.That was only the second time I ever tried to order something from this deli and both times I was told the food was burnt. Seems like a certain location needs to find some more dedicated, capable and attentive workers. Hopefully the replacements will get paid at least $16 hourly. But suffice it to say, I wont be returning to this location. And if any of you have a similar problem, there are plenty of Safeways in the Valley to choose from. WALK OUT!!!

I had been coming to this store weekly for several years to shop for groceries for my elderly grandmother, I had only a few items on the last day I would ever need to visit this store and the self checkout is a joke, first there is no definite line so I waited next to a woman next to the frozen food so as to not block the entire aisle it was only me and the woman then a middle eastern man goes behind her and he clearly sees me right there waiting patiently, the clerk who is an older Hispanic man with a moist ache clearly saw me as well waiting for the self checkout. Then as my turn approaches the middle eastern man screams at me that I cut the line, and tells the clerk that I cut the line. I clearly did not and then the clerk says to me to go to the back of the line. My grandmother is sitting in the car because she is disabled and can not walk through the store. He doesn’t care and tells me to go away. This man clearly saw me in the queue yet he berates me for no reason. I am appalled by the actions at this establishment thankfully I will never have to shop here again as my grandmother just moved.

Please replace your management team at the Campbell,CA Winchester location. I am (was) a frequent customer at this store but am no longer due to the long lines during peak times. From 5:30-6:30pm there is never more than one lane open and lines form down aisles. Last night at 6:15 even the self checkout had 10+ people waiting in line. I walked out leaving my $100+ cart in the aisle. Appalling customer service. Check my loyalty card for my total purchases and you will see that I am not just a sporadic customer. I go to the Deli, and as for ½ lb of sliced white American cheese. Safeway used to stock it unreliably, but now they stock it never, and so you have to go to the Deli. Cheese, white American, ½ lb. Sorry, the slicers are closed.All I ask, is can the Deli obey THEIR OWN POSTED HOURS?! Or, if thats too hard, I have a magic marker; it shouldnt be too hard to change a 9 to an 8. (Assuming theyre open then.)That, or stock American cheese on the shelves.(And yes, my SO has tried other types of cheese product; there isnt much to choose from and it just isnt the same.)---More normally, this Safeway is consistently understocked on items that feel like … staples.
