Best Safeway I’ve been to, but I had to actually leave a review after ordering groceries for curbside pickup. I ordered curbside pickup as I have COVID right now, and this is the first time I’ve gotten a grocery store pickup order with GOOD produce. Usually my pickup orders at other stores (including other Safeways) have had busted, bruised, or even almost rotting produce, but this produce looked like what I would pick out for myself if I was in the store. Thank you to the employee who put my order together🤝

Huge Safeway store with variety and good assortment of products. They have a Starbucks inside, deli, bakery, large aisles and nice produce section. Definitely shop during the peak and try to avoid the peak hours and weekends (produce section doesn’t get stocked as much or it just gets shopped a lot) they also have a 6 self checkout lanes and two registers to checkout in alcohol section. This is my go to Safeway store. Better than the one up the street.If you need gas, there is a Safeway gas station. Prices are sometimes cheaper than Costco.

Pretty nice Safeway. Fairly large store, clean, plenty of parking, and solid selection. Not a lot to complain about. The only thing that was a bit odd was the personal care/toiletries selection. It was in the liquor/wine area, and there was a surprisingly limited selection. Not sure what that was about.Other than that one minor gripe, it’s a solid store.

I’m so glad this place opened up in this location. It’s right around the corner from my house. Super convenient, and it’s also very nice inside & out. The workers / staff are always friendly. There’s also a gas station just on the other side of the building. If you have Safeway rewards, you can use it to get a discount on gas.

Deli section refuses services after 6 pm. I have been told on numerous visits that they cannot help me or they ignore me and other customers. The deli is closed scheduled to close at 8 pm. Either update the schedule or update your staff.

This place is spectacular. I only hope that they keep peoples animals out. I am an animal lover, but dogs and animals DONT belong inside a grocery store. Its horribly unsanitary and allergies are real. Be a responsible pet owner and leave it at home, train it to wait in the car, or outside. If its a service animal it better have the jacket and identification tags. Lets try to keep this store clean for everyone please.

Staff isn’t always super helpful or attentive to guests (I typically go through self check and they kindof just let people deal with the chaos.. hence the minus one star..) but the SUSHI IS AWESOME! I get different rolls but I always ask for spicy mayo on top and the chefs are so sweet and friendly! I love getting my lunches here.

This grocery store is just that.. a grocery store.. the difference is when you have friendly workers. Today I finally experienced a friendly face and it was Chuck! He was wonderful and made grocery shopping and checking out a nice experience. He was kind, knowledgeable, genuine and professional and even packed the grocery bags with purpose without me having to ask to make sure it’s not too heavy! Please do what you can to keep this one around. My mom and I appreciate you so much, Chuck! He is why I am giving this Safeway 5 stars today. I would also love to get a shout out to Elijah! This review is about the Safeway chain, not this particular store. I just paid for 4 plastic bags @ $.10/bag and all but one had handles that broke/fell apart completely walking just to the car parked out in front of the store. Ive never been a huge fan of this overpriced chain (even before the Pandemic world) but quality sure has gone downhill even more. Wish there was another big grocery store chain in the bay area!

Its brand new and clean with a good selection of products, would give it 5 stars except the store forces you to go to the do it yourself check out as the staffed registers are deliberately not opened. The line for the do it yourself registers can be quite long. If Safeway wants to eliminate staffing and require us to check out our own groceries then they need to install more do it yourself registers.

This Safeway is new and very clean on the inside it is open until 1am. Which is great when you need a late night snack. Parking is great and I always find a close parking spot. The workers are friendly and dont look like they hate working there.

Very clean, always seemed to be stocked with supplies. They have a sushi bar where they make fresh sushi. They also have a sandwich place where they sell fresh chicken, including chicken tenders and fried. The bakery there is amazing I usually go there to purchase birthday cakes for my co-workers and they always have a verity. I had even ordered a cake for my baby’s cake smash pictures, it got messed up on the drive home and the next day I went in to see if they could help me and they ended up replacing the cake completely even when it was my fault.Down side to this place is that the lines are long, and they don’t seem to have much staff checking people out.

Update Nov 2022:I go to this Safeway the most because of its cleanliness and organization. I usually get the 2-lb kale and the big Brown Cow yogurt.-------------This is a very nice Safeway. Very spacious, clean, and organized. So bright. Its located at a plaza where not many stores are present yet. The staff is friendly and are even happy to help. Its the first time a Safeway employee asks a customer if they could help us find anything. Very impressed. I always prefer to come to this location rather than the other one thats also on Berryessa. Keep it up!

Ive been a Just 4U member and love shopping the weekly deals they post.I pick the ones I need and have a good price for. Sale prices are usually good for a week, but perhaps a limited amount or one time use.This store usually keeps these sales items on the shelves and in stock.Do double check your receipt before leaving, Just 4U has overcharged me on past trips on some items. The service desk is good at correcting it.

I order for drive and go yesterday to pick up for today. I got the notification this morning my order was complete and ready. When they brought out my order is when I noticed missing item. Then they informed me the item was unavailable. It would be nice to let the customer know at the time of purchase there is a unavailable item. Not wait for the customer to pickup and notice a missing item. Safeway will always be great brand but your team is unprofessional. Walmart always informs me of any unavailable items.

Ive always shopped at Safeway ever since I was a child. My parents would take me shopping and I would always have a great time. But, this Safeway, they opened across the Flee Market, is by FAR THE BEST. It has great selections from sweets to ready to eat. Its super clean and pretty big compared to some others. Friendly staff and fast service. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Godbless.

Love shopping here. Grocery shopping here at the last minute was great, stocked shelves and no lines at the self checkout.The checkout experience here is far better than at other safeways.Self checkout here has plenty of spots and is almost always available. The alcohol is separate and never has a line, meaning you can buy a beer there and quickly go through self checkout for the rest of the groceries. Even if you do have a bunch of groceries and dont want to use self checkout, the check lanes are often surprisingly staffed and moving quickly.

A kind customer suggested I go to the new location and sure enough, I got my eggs! Since I live in between both, it was no problem going there.The Berryessa Safeway is also pretty much out of meat too so beware.The new one has EVERYTHING!!! 😁🤭. New branch, store is nice and clean but staff training seriously needs improvement. Shopping experience has been wonderful here until what happened today.I bought 13pounds of a produce that was on sale last weekend and found the discount was not applied when I got home. Went back to the store and requested for adjustment, was told that the discount is limit 6lbs and we bought 13lbs so we didnt get any discount at all for the entire purchase, not even the first 6 pounds.Are you punishing customers who need more??? Such simple logic resulted in us standing at the customer service for almost 30mins for the staff to figure out whether they should apply the discount for the first 6 pounds. I just wanted to give up at the end; $4.80 refund wont buy my 20 mins.

Initially, when this Safeway opened, it was fabulous. However, it seems as though this Safeway can’t keep up with demand, or they don’t have enough staff. I’ve never been to a Safeway that has expired items on the shelf, and I had to take out 4 yogurts to get to the non expired ones a couple weeks ago. Today, there were bottles of milk on the shelf for 25% off that expired two days ago. Other than that, they are always out of everything that is popular. For the last several weeks, they haven’t had any diet Mountain Dew, and their shelves are constantly empty. It’s like they let the shelves go empty without ordering more to replenish the loss. It’s really a shame since it’s so new and close to my house.

Cashier made a mistake charged me twice on an avocado and then not ringing the correct sale price for the 3 bowl of fruits. On top of it, the Manager tricked me for a cash refund thinking that I dont know Math. Will not come at this Safeway again. This is not the first time of them making mistakes. A newly built Safeway that has very good produce and vegetables, along with the best variety of items that money can buy. They have all covid security taken care of.Theres curbside pickup. You can check out in any department that has a register.Revised.Its still the most convenient, clean, and fully stocked Safeway in the south bay.Cashiers are very friendly and knowledgeable about what they carry in their inventory. If you shop wisely, you can benefit in an economy that is going crazy right now. Safety elements are still in place. Facemasks are required and outside and inside they have lotion containers for your hands.

I was on the phone with my mom, who is elderly and not great at communicating, but Mariela refused to talk to me on the phone. I got hurt there by a shopping cart locking up as I was going out the door as the cashier failed to instruct me to take the cart through the line to shut off the device on the wheel! Then they to cover it up by putting warning signs on the light poles and shopped carts. Got my phone call transferred to 5 different people to answer my super easy question: Do they have any spicy chicken strips? Whoever got the phone last hung up on me before saying a word to me. They were talking to their coworker which I overheard and I did ask “hello?” many times, but they still hung up on me. It is a super easy question. S I am still trying to figure out its really its really really confusing layout because I used to go to Berryessa Lucky until it got shut down. that is a complex being built there. and the orchard across the street which is been there though the Whole 30 or 40 years Ive been here however this one is across from from the new BART station which is meant to be shining example however I live about a 5 minute bike ride from the station and the supermarket is in my way.

Manager needs remedial training, doesnt understand how to manage! 20+ minute wait at deli because only ONE emoyee, but manager cant send someone over to help because it requires TRAINING to work there. To scoop hot wings, potatoe salad, and baked beans into containers requires (special) training??? Managers cant control prices or stock mostly, but they can control personnel and how long lines are. Send this manager back to school. She couldve gone over herself to clear the line in 5 minutes, or the florist who was literally doing nothing, or any of the dozen or so stockers on the floor. I will never be back Safeway.
