I do not hand out 5* reviews like hotcakes but this place deserves it! I just want to give shout outs to Wayne and Jerry. These guys are heroes! They took going above and beyond customer service to an even higher level. I dropped an item I had just bought right outside the store and happened to cross Wayne bringing groceries out to a customer. He saw how frustrated and upset I was at myself and directed me to go see the customer service desk to see about replacing the item and mention Wayne sent me. I met Jerry inside and both Wayne and Jerry worked together to replace the item. You both made my night! I have never received this level of customer service EVER in my life. I’m going to be your newest loyal customer here and bring along as many new ones as I can BELIEVE IT!!!! I appreciate both of you!

Went to buy my WIC items. Total rung up with way more balance than I calculated so I was checking the receipt and asked cashier what it took off towards my WIC. He just looks at me with irritated IDGAF face and says “I don’t know.” Then I had to ask him if there’s someone who could help me figure it out and with irritation he said uh… you’ll have to go to customer service. All I know if he wasn’t customer service friendly or helpful at all and had an irritated attitude. Please don’t go to this Safeway if you want good help. There’s Bel Air across the street that helps you out much more and cares about their customers.

This place has a lot of food you would not find at other places. I love it. I found some noodles I had only found in Japan. The cashiers are all super nice. I highly recommend coming here if you need to shop.When the pandemic hit this store was fully stocked. The prices are only a hit higher than other places.

My mom went in today and was helped by the cashier Mary P, who was amazing! I cannot express enough how amazed and touched she was by the level of service Mary provided. Marys kindness, patience, and genuine care truly made a difference in my moms day, and she left the store feeling incredibly happy. From the moment my mom approached the checkout counter, Mary greeted her with a warm smile and made her feel welcome. Despite a busy store, Mary took the time to listen to my moms questions and concerns, ensuring she had all the information she needed. She went above and beyond to assist her with her purchase, even going as far as replacing some of the items that weren’t correct. Thank you Mary P! Will definitely be returning back! Called in placed my order with Dillon. I ordered a half sheet chocolate cake with strawberries (mickey mouse theme) and added writing to the cake. Also ordered 4 dozen cupcakes. I placed this a week before my sons 1st birthday party. Within the week of my sons birthday party I called again to double check on my order got Dillon again on the phone he had no recollection of the order ..so I ordered it again. He even gave me his phone number so I can send him the picture of the cake. The day of my sons birthday party my mother went to pick up the cake & cupcakes. When my mother brought the cake& cupcakes to the party, first thing I saw was that the cupcakes were pink. I asked for red frosting on 24 and yellow frosting on the other 24 not pink. 2nd the cake didnt have the proper writing that I asked for. I asked for it to say happy 1st Birthday (with my sons name)it just said happy birthday with my sons name. 3rd when we cut the cake it wasnt choclate it was vanilla. I asked for choclate. I paid over 100.00 for everything. This was horrible service! And I didnt appreciate it. The fact that I had to call 2x to place my order and it was still wrong is very frustrating.

Every time I come to the store I feel uncomfortable it’s always a security guard seems to be watching me or some type of staff that seems like they’re Iommi and they don’t seem to keep it on Caucasian customers, but they constantly keep watching African-American customers in their store I find it to be distasteful and they should not look at people for color or what they’re wearing, but for what they’re buying out of the store and deserve all people to say because we are all people

This location (not sure about others) has gone downhill quickly. Prices have gone way up, quality and service have gone way down. They now try to rip off and defraud their customers wherever they can in the pursuit of greed. They recently had a sale on corn, 5 for $1. Apparently the store manager(?) decided that was too cheap, so they rounded up every single ear in the store, pre-wrapped them all in packages of 6 ears, and sold them (while the sale was still going on) for $5 for 6 instead of $1 for 5. Every. Single. Ear. in the store. I even asked a produce guy and he said there were none left unwrapped. Then I got one of their Smores Kits - advertised (I double-checked) as a pack of Hersheys bars, a box of Honey Maid grahams, and a bag of Jet Puffed Marshmallows. For about $10. Yes, I should have looked, but when I got home I realized theyd replaced the Jet Puffed with Safeway brand marshmallows. These are just two examples of the store actively trying to rip off customers and not give them even what theyve advertised. Good thing Bel Air and Island Pacific are right across the street. I wont be shopping here anymore.

I have not been to Safeway in years. But, my sister said to try their Friday specials. I was happy with the $5 fried chicken and $5 strawberry cake. My husband was happy they had black walnut ice cream, his favorite our cashier was Faith. She was friendly, helpful and welcoming. I met a customer who was so nice telling me where I could find specials! Told him he should be the spokesperson for Safeway!Maybe my feud with Safeway might be over!🤔

I mistakenly visited this Safeway location on June 2, 2023. I had just gotten out of a yoga class and was craving kombucha. I grabbed my reusable bags and headed towards the left-most entrance of the store. I immediately noticed there were no hand baskets available and I had no idea where their carts were as I didnt see a corral outside or inside by the entrance. No big deal. I will carry my groceries in my reusable bag and pay for my products at the end of my shopping trip, which I have done regularly for years without issue.I was made to feel very uncomfortable the last third of my shopping trip. With the kombucha secured in my reusable bag around my arm, I decided to pick up a pack of white claw, which I was visibly carrying in my free hand. It was at this point I noticed an employee give me the dirtiest look I have ever seen before he turned a corner away from my line of sight in the alcohol aisle. I didnt think much of it. Just thought it was weird. I made my way to the deli area, which is located by the other entrance, to buy some chicken for dinner. After the employee handed it to me, I placed it in my reusable bag along with the kombucha.As soon as I walked away from the deli counter, I noticed a security guard made his way to the entrance by the deli and just stood there staring at me. I thought how odd it was to see a security guard at Safeway, but then again, Im not from this area nor have I ever been on this side of Elk Grove.I started to make my way towards the registers until I remembered to get some sauce for my chicken. The signage inside the store was confusing so I immediately decided against it and turned back around towards the registers. Thats when I noticed the security guard had been actively following me. I walked right up to the cashier and paid for my items, which I was already intending to do because I have integrity, something I learned from my upbringing and from the Peace Officer Standards and Training academy in Galt, CA.The security guard and employee that gave me the dirty look actively hovered around the check out lane I was in. I just stared at them since they had so much interest in what I was doing.I immediately called the store when I arrived home and asked to speak to the store manager. I wasnt patched through to the store manager, but a manager on duty. I told her I was followed in the store and asked why. What reasonable suspicion did I cause to bring this unto me? I dont think I dressed frumpy. I dont think I acted suspicious. She said it was because of my use of reusable bags to carry my items and since the start of COVID they have had a lot of theft. How is that my issue? Your store did not provide hand baskets to customers and your carts were not easily accessible.I was told I would receive a call about this from the store manager and I have yet to hear from them. I have shopped in more affluent areas and better grocery stores and have done the same thing for years BEFORE COVID and never experienced this dehumanizing experience before. This badge-carrying Peace Officer will never shop here again. Worst experience of my life.

The worst business ever. Very unprofessional and dishonest. They had a sale on lobsters and I bought them the night and scheduled for pick up the next morning. But when I came, they told me I had to pay for the new price even though I already paid the sale price last night and I just needed to pick up my order. This morning they had a sale on shrimp, rib-eye, and tri-tip so order them on sale for a super good price at 8am and they let me choose pick up at 10am the same day, but when I came they changed my order with out telling me give me a note or receipt, (lucky I took all the pictures after I place the order online), they only gave me my shrimp and tri top. My rib-eye was missing so I asked and THEN they told me it sold out and they refunded HOWEVER they did NOT give me the receipt to show me until I asked for it. They also told me they switched out the shrimp that was on sale for ones that were not on sale and expensive AND charged me the price for them. I’m beyond livid and upset and will NEVER come back here. So dishonest, fake, and unprofessional. You need to fix yourselves because this is not professional at all.

Well..lets be honest nobody goes here for the great prices. There are stores within a few miles way cheaper and you need to have their card to pay what should be a decent price. That said the employees are friendly. The bakery always has fresh bread and donuts which is a plus. They have a really good produce section with all kinds of pre-made meals ready to go. I would say they would be a good + on the scale a 3. Even after the one and only cashier gave me a counterfeit $10 bill. Yeah, watch the bills, I didnt find out till I went to another store down the street and had to cough up another $10. Maybe Safeway will do the right thing and pay me back?? I doubt it since they other place kept the bill...carry on

Im fairly annoyed right now. I just drove out of my way to this Safeway because I was looking for two particular ingredients. I referenced one through the manufacturers website for places which distribute their products and then checked both products through the Safeway website. I could not find either of these items in the physical store and no one seemed to have access to any sort of system that could show real inventory. The only thing they could do was radio around to each other to ask each other if anyone thought it was in stock and where they thought it was. I was sent on a wild goose chase to three different places in the store as different people told me their opinions as to whether or not they thought it was in stock and where they thought it belonged. This was a complete waste of my time. How is it that I can go to a website as a customer and see whether or not an item is in stock but the employees in the store have nothing else available to them? Opinions arent helping me cook dinner. I need some facts. It either is or is not in stock. You either know where it is or you do not. Come on Safeway. Please provide your employees with these basic tools so they can better assist customers.

I been going to this Safeway for more than 5 years. Tonight around 8pm I went there and couldn’t find Chia seed there was worker I asked her for help and she was very rude and disrespectful to me, she was a short Spanish girl with the ponytail. The way she treated me was very very unprofessional and disappointing even though I was very nice and respectful, I still don’t know why she was rude to me. Safeway is a bit pricey, but I have to admit their meat and produce is always fresh. The floral department is lovely and reasonably priced in my opinion. Check out the deals a day after each holiday. This store is awesome I needed coffee milk and they were out I asked the guy if they had any more of the type I was looking for he asked me how many did I need I told him I just need two. not only did he get my the two but he refilled the area back up. all of the people that work there are so friendly. if Im at the self-checkout and have a problem all I have to do is let one of the checkout people know and they are right there helping me. They are always friendly they always say hello when I leave theyll say have a good day I love this store.

This was my first time eating here....and Wow! Maki rolls had a thin layer of rice, which usually you dont see at an ayce. The hand rolls were 5+ stars, they were stuffed full. Appetizers were great, recommend the crab balls and the tempura squid (calamari). Service was great. The restaurant doesnt have too many tables but the servers always made sure our drinks were full. Nigiri quality was only about 3 stars, they make miniature versions which is not bad, but the fish quality could be better. Over all for $28, this is a great place. 4stars easy. Arrive early, parking is very limited along with seating.

Plenty of parking, everyones wearing masks in the store. Its a busy intersection so plan your exit as there are multiple entry and exit points. Food is always fresh and customer service is good. If going at night there are plenty of well lit areas.

I gave 4 stars to the hot foods service young man name Trenton but NOT Safeway !Its Friday, and he is the only one who is provided the services to all the hot foods and cold cuts as well as the sandwiches! .It was unbelievably! Ridiculous! As there was 4 people ahead of me, I was patiently waiting for 45 minutes, I felt really bad for him as the lady ahead of me gave him a hard times ! Tonight I asked the staff member working at Customer Service how to find out whether or not the store carried a product and she said, look on the shelf. This has become the extent of their customer service, I mean this is their lack of customer service. I have to hunt down plastic bags in produce. The carts are kept outside, very inconvenient. They have a very good Deli case, with lots of tempting goodies. To my delight, they had my favourite Wenslydale cheese. I bought 2 with blueberries and one with cranberries. Delicious!I like their butcher shop area, where you can find bigger and more high quality meats. Their bakery is a sugar addicts dream lol!This is one of the better Safeways in Sacramento. Horrible customer service... I went there use the gift trade in machine. I had to wait in a long line at the self check out just for the cashier to tell me they dont do that in self check out. So I waited in a regular check out line and the cashier told me she cant do it either. Review of florist :Amber (manager, flower arranger)I came to this Safeway Friday to purchase some roses, stems, stems with leaves and wanted them arranged in a vase I had purchased elsewhere.I was greeted by Ms. Amber ( her badge identified her as a manager). The price for roses are clearly marked on their display . However, the garnishment needed to make the arrangements are not. So I asked her how much is it? She replied, $5, followed by, we also sell per stem and they are $1 per stem. In your $5 bouquet of stems,there are only three stems. So if I purchase them individually, the amount would be $3? ?? Clearly she was embarrassed by my observation of her math. She had begun to make the flower arrangements when out of the blue she commented you know we charge 20 percent additional for arrangements. I asked her to refrain from continuing the arrangements because I prefer to make further arrangements myself. She impolitely removed the roses from the vase and handed me my vase, roses and stems while replying rudely this is not part of our protocol at Safeway. Uncomfortably I made my way out of Safeaway and walked across the street to Bel Air and a young Asian gal courteously greeted us and proceeded to arrange the flowers I had purchased from Safeway free of charge. I was upset by Amber (blonde) . After reflecting on what took place during my visit to Safeaway, I decided that I should speak to the store manager Lindsey . Lindsey was surprised by my observation. I shared with Lindsey that Amber is the face of Safeway on Calvine Rd.Ambers behavior in the customer service environment lacked professional decorum and most important to me, class. Lindsey assured me she will have a conversation with Amber and offered me a $10 Safeway coupon or credit. I replied to her, it is unnecessary . My purpose of the phone call was to offer feedback for the improvement of the customer experience at their store on Calvine Rd.

One of the not so best Safeways. So many expired items. Be careful, check dates. The vegetables are not so good. Bottomline its expensive and not very worth it.

Terrible, I just stood in the check out line for 20 mins. Only two lanes open and the lines were not going down and they still didnt call anyone up to open another lane. Ridiculous.

Great grocery store, reasonable prices and theres always a deal on items & make sure you use your SafeWay card to also get your discounts!

Its safeway, if you dont know, they have basically everything but not always the best quality. Not that Im disappointed.with what Im buying here I just know what to expect.

Was looking for a popular item, but it was discontinued, the clerk was very helpful is why the two stars....a web search directed me to the store.
