The 4th St Safeway is my favorite Safeway in Santa Rosa. It is close to where I live and I never have trouble finding a place to park. Customer service there is consistently top notch. The restrooms are easy to find and clean. The produce section is well stocked with fresh vegetables and fruit and very inviting, the way it is laid out. Sometimes I stop by just to get a few items like some cereal that I like, milk, eggs and usually some pet food. I am in and out quick. They also have a variety of gift cards. I use them to shop online. Sometimes I get sandwiches in the Deli. Come to think of it, this is a great all around store.

A research study verifies, Safeway (every Safeway in Sonoma County) is the second most expensive grocery store after Whole Foods. Safeway is a proud consumer gouger and some prices have increased 80% since the beginning of the pandemic and have never decreased. Their online delivery service is awful with terrible fresh vegetables selected by whomever is doing the shopping. The things selected by the shopper are often ready to expire in two days like bagged carrots and lettuces If I pick an item from my rewards list and they dont have the item, I lose the reward, which is ridiculous. I only shop here because I dont have a car right now and I have no options.

Very Frustrating experience. Workers on floor were on their phone. Checkout line was great. I was trying to find a worker to ask a question but the meat counter was closing and one worker was talking with a guest for over an hour back in produce. I waited 40 minutes nearby not wanting to interrupt, but eventually I just wanted to get on with it. Checkouts were great and fast. Great bagging. Frustrating floor staff.

OMG! If you havent checked out there floral shop and gift area you should. Some cute potted plants and nice floral arrangements both Safeway brand bit also a Local floral grower. Lasts for a week or better if you take care of them.

Beware of the seafood section and if you do purchase, check for freshness.Writing this just after throwing up from taking one bite out of salmon purchased two hours ago from this store - my own fault, the fish didnt look right, too soft and a bit discolored; but I grilled and bit into it anyway.Called the customer service to inform them about the salmon. They didnt apologize, nor did they ask for more information; they just said theyll inform the meat section and hung up. May I add, lack of concern/compassion and sketchy quality control procedures... Unbelievable...

I go here to get lunch when Im working and I love the fresh mixed fruit bowls. I can also go to Starbucks and the bank all in one trip so that is a plus. I like earning points for every dollar I spend too towards my gas savings. With gas cost going up continually every penny saved counts.

Great selection. Prices tend to be high on regular items and good on many of the sale items. Online coupons are worthwhile signing up for. Make sure to bring your phone to show clipped coupons since sometimes they do not show up on the register.

This location is very convenient and its open till late. Parking lots are illuminated at night and very clean. Bakery is always super busy, so make sure to count in a couple of minutes when you make a trip to the deli and or bakery area.

I couldnt find most of what I was looking for. They dont even stock soy sauce top ramen. All the produce I was looking for I had to get organic which is more expensive. If you want to go to Safeway then I suggest Mendocino or Marlow.

This Safeway has all the retail food I need and is well organized like the other Safeway stores.This particular branch doesnt have as many homeless people as the Safeway branches on Mendocino & Steele or Marlow & Greeneville, which can be intimidating at a minimum or downright frightening at times.

Hire store, nice & clean, but when O went through looking specifically for pearl onions for a recipe, I couldnt find any and they actually do not carry them at all. The food fads cauliflower rice and zucchini noidles were there, but something simple like pearl onions? I mean, really!

People are friendly when they have to deal with u. Ive sat at customer service desk fof half hour waiting for assistance in full view of multiple employees and hitting the help button but sadly its all younger workers and i had to waif for a person to get back from theyre break to get help… i think an oldermore experienced crew would of practiced better customer service skills cuz thats obv not on they priority list.. at night its way worse i think due to shortage of employees and again a very young and unexpired inexperienced crew of workers n most have headphones in listening to music sk its hard to get attention for help but its def better than marlow safeway or many other cities safeways.

We usually shop at a different Safeway, a couple of miles east of this one. Hey, its a Safeway. Reliable and easy to find things. My wife still calls it Vons, which is essentially the same store down in San Diego. If you like Vons, youll like Safeway, and vice versa.

I always enjoy my trips to this Safeway. All of the staff and store managers are helpful. They offer a meat department which is nice and they have locally grown organic produce if that is what you desire. Prices are competitive with their Club Card. Over the years I have bought produce that wasnt very good or even bad. All you need to do is let them know and they will either refund your money (with a receipt) or offer you whatever item was bad for no cost. Always helpful.

Several negative comments.Waiting for help reaching out for someone to wire me some money to western union so I can go home This person was so rude to me. Because I asked for help and not white I was so lost and far away from city all I need was a phone call couldnt use the phone when I came back to get my money the rude lady said oh your still here! since she was manager I couldnt really get help from anyone who was working at Safeway told workers not to help me they are were so racist towards me that Big Forest Fire happened in that area...I was glad I dont live there and I dont live with like with people like her.

I used to be a loyal shopper at this location but stopped a few years ago. Went in today to grab a few items. When it was my turn to be rung up, the cashier didnt say a word. No hello or even an acknowledgement. He rung my items without speaking and rather than ask for the total, I just craned my head to see it on his screen. As I left I saw I was overcharged for two of my items. Ill spare you the details of how that interaction unfolded.

In the time of omicron youd be surprised at how few people are actually wearing masks correctly. Walking around in Safeway many of the workers had it below their noses or wearing cloth masks which were ineffective. Some customers were walking around without a mask and no one said anything to them, and a few vented masks which are not legitimate for Covid.Some of the grocery stocks were depleted but it wasnt too bad

As Safeways go its one of the nicer ones. Theyre open late in the evening which is convenient. The organic produce section can look a little long in the tooth. And many products are priced at the club member price so if you dont have a Safeway card you end up paying more. I wish they would take Google pay or some sort of modern payment systems but theyre pretty much stuck in the old fashioned credit card, debit card, cash, check world.

Took 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me at the deli counter. When they finally arrived I was told they were completely out of rolls, then they had to cut my Pastrami as they had none in the case. It, took about another 10 minutes after that to make my sandwich. Had a line of about 6 other people behind me and only one person working the deli during lunch hour. Wont be coming back to this store again thats for sure. What a disappointment. 👎

I go here regularly at night to shop. Mello, the night manager, is great. People working are all nice folks. The few times Ive been there in the early morning, everyone working is also very friendly. My mom had not felt well one afternoon while shopping and the people working, including Mello, helped make her comfortable while waiting for the ambulance. It was appreciated.

This Safeway is clean enough and in a good location.But just like the other one on Yulupa Ave in Benett valley, the parking is tight and someWorkers are rude enough.Again I felt like being treated like a dog at the self checkout counter when asking some help.She is a tall woman, of my grandchild age.This is the one of the big reasons I do shopping at the Oliver’s market of Lincoln valley more often, where people are away more courteous and caring. Worth paying extra price for that reason alone.

The 4th Street store is where those who hate working for Safeway are sent. Never enough staff & the staff that is there is sure to let you know what a big inconvenience you are in shopping here. The worst! Try having a clerk sigh at you, or a deli-person tell you they dont think the should have to help you to clerks at the self-checkout too busy chatting to fix any self-checkout issue. Three customers in the 15-or-Less checkout line averages 20 minutes to get through if you are the 4th person--even if the customers ahead of you each have less than 10 items. At night theres usually a mess in the produce and deli departments. Skip this store and go to Bennett Valley Safeway or try Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, Whole Foods, Luckys or Olivers in the area.Today was the last time. I am never going back to this store. Its just consistently awful and Im tired of dealing with staff who hate what they do. I blame management because there has to be a reason this store is consistently awful.

Im 9 weeks pregnant and had to use the restroom as pregnant women do. The bathroom tile and walls were covered in splatter all over. The tiles had been so long since a good scrub that theyre grey in coloration same goes for the sinks. The baby changing table is terrifying it looks like some one was doing their drugs off of it. I like the manager here. But it seems like the Directer and himself dont find cleanliness the most important thing. This is the Covid19 Pandemic and your store isnt up to snuff. This bathroom is clearly a vector and place that isnt seriously cleaned on the regular. Sanitizing your carts only doesnt cut it.

I dont know what the other reviewers are talking about, but I think this Safeway is terrific. The store is clean and tidy, the staff is friendly and courteous, and the store manager is an angel! I asked him for a donation of culled apples, potatoes, and carrots for the Quarryhill Botanical Gardens Earth Day celebration. The children use them to make stamps. He didnt hesitate to oblige! In fact, he went to the back himself to get the items for me. When he couldnt find carrots, he apologized and encouraged me to check back the next day! Heck! He was doing me a favor! He certainly didnt have to apologize! He gave me a half-full box of apples and potatoes, which was so very generous!I have no complaints whatsoever about this store. This customer claimed she had just been released from the hospital, and I worried because I was right behind her in line. I visited this Safeway only because it has the best Western Union Money pickup services in the Santa Rosa area. At least for my needs. They have fairly late hours. They always seem to have enough cash on hand to cash the western union check, even if its $500 or more dollars. Friendly, and usually always functioning system wise. It can be quite a hassel at other places in town just to pick up your cash. Ive rarely had issues with this Safeway branch tho.Edit update: 12-22-2018 So for western union money pickup they get a 3 ⭐ rating. *After 3 times in a row of not being willing or able to do cash pickup for western union. I downgrade them from 5🌟 to 3⭐The non club grocery pricing however is another storyBut ill save that for a different review. If i ever do one.. Which I may not, due to rarely shopping there because of the non club pricing thing. Its a pain in the rear.

This Safeway is right around the corner from my boyfriends house so thats majorly convenient. Its a midsize store but still has a nice selection of foods and products that Safeway is known for carrying. The tiniest Safeway Ive been in is the one by the high school in Mill Valley, reminds me of grocery stores in Manhattan where floor space is limited and the shelves are stacked high and the aisles narrow... I can only imagine what grocery stores are like in some place like Texas... where u could probably drive a golf cart down the aisle lol...

The panhandlers both outside the entrance/exit and in the parking lot are just too much. They are aggressive and scary. I have spoken to the manager on two occasions, and while he is a nice person, he seems unwilling or unable to do anything about it. Dont know if resolving this problem is the responsibility of Safeway, or the property manager; either way Im not going back.

Its better than it was 10 years ago, but its still a place to shop only cautiously. They do have SOME organic produce, thank you, and their own brand of (very limited) organic dairy products. But mainly this is a place to shop the OLD kind of foods. Major manufacturers provide highly processed food;. companies involved in highly chemicalized agribusiness sell produce that has fungicides, pesticides, insecticides. This is food PRODUCTS (as opposed to REAL FOOD) for people whoSE palates are salted & fatted; for people who prefer quantity over quality; for people who dont care where their food comes from; for people who dont read labels. Its OK Ina pinch. I shop here a couple of times a year. They do have a huge wine & beer selection. But no local foods in these stores, smack in the middle of Locavore County, with so many local farms & dairies. Want a box of Cheerios? Buy it here. Want produce picked a day or two ago? Fuggedabaddit. Shop instead the Whole Foods in Coddingtown (no the Yulupa store) or Olivers, or one of the many farmers markets in the area!

Safeway by Flamingo, Hwy 12 N Store isles so crowded with extra carts + display items no room for shoppers. Literally could not even walk in the door, cart full of items right where people need to walk, and an employee standing in the right of way while customers trying to walk by. Bumper cars and knocked into by people and carts throughout the whole store. Wow! Isles too close together, it is literally a one way isle. Get it together Safeway. Stores a disaster. Green beans in a heap on the floor. Ridiculous.

Went to buy coffee beans at this Santa Rosa Safeway near the Flamingo. No in-store fresh beans to grind onsite. Had to buy pre-ground-in-bag, more than I needed or could use while on a short vacation.
