Google and the store itself says its open til 2am. Drove a little ways to get here, arrived at 12:04, its closed. Then notice theres a second sign that says it closes at 12. Maybe take down the one that says 2am and update Google then? Totally incompetent.

Great deals on meat. Short ribs were 7$ a pound. Has indian curries and ethnic foods section. Liquor and wine also, with high end selections. Produce was also reasonably priced.

Worst selection of all the nearby Safeways. Produce is so disorganized, for example, onions in 4 different locations scattered across the produce section. Very few of each item on each shelf. Totally worth driving to the Rancho store.

Better than your average Safeway … super clean, lots of parking, friendly service. It is on the smaller side, but I’ve usually found what I am looking for. The prices seem higher than other Safeways, but the location is great — and you get what you pay for.

Very nice supermarket near Los Altos downtown. With plenty of indoor parking, good selection of produce, fresh meats, and even a in-store bakery, its truly a one stop shopping experience. Pricing is OK overall, considering their good quality grocery items. Look for their weekly specials if you want to shop for bargains!

We have found enough expired products on the shelves here that we have to check every item we buy to see if its still good. Weve even had problems with items that are within the use by date (like sandwich meat). Perhaps they hadnt been stored properly. Its too bad since the store is conveniently located and easy to access.

The Deli next to the sushi stand needs better customer service; food is hit or miss more so the chicken. Especially on $5.00 Fridays. Overall not impressed everyone there seems to be uptight with the vibe that they dont want to he there. Other than tha its your regular run of the mill Safeway. 🖖✌🤙🤟

The deli always seems to close absurdly early at this location. Last visit I came around 5:45-6pm, and they already cleaned out the hot chicken case and werent slicing any meats for customers. The main store itself is fairly nice though, never had to wait in a long line to check out at this Safeway.

I have been to many Safeway stores in the South Bay. This I believe is the premier Safeway in the area. Fresh produce, excellent selection of me, plenty of last minute stuff you might need for any occasion. Easy parking downstairs with elevator, escalator, and stairs as your options. I like the wide aisles and rarely do I find a line that doesnt dissipate rapidly once Im ready to check out.

Need food? Come here. Need a lot of food? You can get that here too. Want to look cool while browsing meat? Oh yes you can do that too.Edit: Its been two years since I wrote this review and Google asked me to update it the same day they fired 12,000 employees. I cant imagine thats not a coincidence. Nevertheless, Safeway still continues to serve an FDA compliant product at slightly higher than market rate values. If that excites you, then you know what to do.

On two recent occasions we have needed special items. Each time we couldnt find them at 3-4 other stores, but the Safeway on 1st St. in Los Altos came through for me each time. I phone and ask. Someone picks up the phone and talks with me. Great service.

Always clean, roomy, and relatively well stocked. Prices are higher compared to the warehouse stores, but the “Safeway Club” prices are reasonable. There’s very good variety of produce, which also tends to be fresher/riper than other stores. Aisles are well-marked, and items don’t move around the store from visit to visit.

The bakery day old products are marked 1/2 off. Problem is no corresponding bar code. Requires a checkers manual entry at self checkout. Today that added about 10 minutes to my checkout. I finally gave up waiting.

Id like to express a big thank you to the clerk (I cant see her name) who was at customer service today around 2:10pm. I was upset by the rudeness of another employee, but she apologized instead and comforted me with her soft words and attitude. She seems to be a great person who not only is faithful to her own work but also knows how to care for her customers hearts. Im sorry I dont know the name, but I think Ive never seen such a kind clerk in 10 years of going here.

Weird place. One day fantastic service from the staff, helping you find things. The next it a mess with no staff.Oh, and this trip purchased the value package of lamb chops only to discover the butcher had stacked thin cut chops on top of each other to even them out with regular sized chops.1st time Ive ever been scammed at this Safeway.

Safeway has been a solid icon in my life since the 1960s. And this store is no different. At times parking can be challenging. But they usually have everything that I need. Customer service is pretty friendly as well. The prices seem average for this area. Over the years the store has changed but there 1 commitment to customers is what keeps me coming back.

The area where this store is located is very safe and parking is easy and plentiful. Theres a Starbucks inside, as well as a deli, good produce, meat and bakery sections.

The other reviews of this place are clearly paid for, because they are absolute lies. This is one of the worst grocery stores around. Even for a Safeway it’s pretty bad. And always has been. There is never anyone at the self check area so when you have a problem you have wait 5 minutes for someone to call for extra help to take care of it. And the other check stands are usually understaffed so long lines. The produce consistently looks terrible and costs about the same at the conventional stuff at Dragers or other nicer stores. The store is really poorly laid out - for some reason cheeses are spread out across three different corners of the store. Some of the checkers are friendly but most are totally checked out. There always seems be puddles on the floor from the refrigeration. The meat is really hit and miss. I bought tri-tip there recently and the roast was probably 1/3 fat by weight. After trimming it up myself I had about a grapefruit sized ball of fat. I could go on for a lot longer about this place but it will be a waste of time since the real reviews are clearly all being buried by a paid firm.

Nice and clean Safeway in Los Altos. Only recommendation is to look at the top shelf height. Two separate items were out of my reach ( and Im 56). Products in front had been taken. Consider having someone walk the shelves to bring product forward and in reach.

Just buying chips and beer. First self-check-register couldnt scan. Second demanded that I remove an item from the weigh side before it would continue. Third register worked, but needed a human to verify my age. No human appears for 3 minutes. No checkers at 15 items or fewer. Stood in line behind a family groceries cart.Very disappointing trip. Shouldnt take 15 minutes to buy two items.

This is my go to place for snacks when Im heading over to a friends place. They have a good selection of food and Im always able to find parking. I dont usually get precut fruit but I keep going back for their precut pineapple. Its so juicy and the perfect level of hard but not too hard (aka not overly mushy). The store is easy to see on foothill but sometimes you miss the turn off to get to where the parking is.

A big, new Safeway with lots of space. The selection is pretty good but still not great. They were missing a few items that Ive found at other Safeways. Parking is easy; theres a big garage downstairs.This store is strangely organized. For example I noticed eggs, orange juice, and chips in multiple spots each, and not always the same kinds in each place. It makes some things hard to find because you have to look all over. I think I prefer the Safeway up at El Camino and San Antonio, which is better organized.

I love the way the store is laid out, its easy to run in and grab and go. I never find it very crowded and if the lines are long, they very quickly open up another checker. I would give it a 5 except for the produce department is sometimes not kept up. Love the underground parking.

Seating area was very dirty, so I asked for something so I could wipe the table down. This seemed to annoy the man who -I guess- was supposed to be tending the area. He was very rude as he wiped the table-there were still crumbs and sticky bits, but I just ate at the cleanest part of the table. Forty minutes later, he came back to the area to clean up the garbage on the floor, and partially wipe the other tables. He walked up and told me I couldnt sit with my feet on my chair-which was strange, made me uncomfortable, so I left. It was obvious my business was not wanted there. Two stars because lots of organic options, which is nice!!

Only grocery store in town parking is garage and elevator escalators are ur entry very clean and stocked except for sundays meat is high and too much fat on roast and few steaks. But fresh when it rains the place is a lake and pay attention to where u park the leaks are over entry and parking. They need to get that fixed. Only one employee I had issues with and shes the only one that stands out no need to go her level just know she works nights and rude as hell

Safeway stores are all fairly similar to each other. Reasonable prices, though noticeably rising, so long as youre willing to give up your anonymity and register for a ClubCard and click on JustForU items in their cellphone application. Set up a WiFi connection in the store, as the construction of these stores tends to block Cellular signals. Lately, they seem to no longer stock their store-brand frozen entrees, which had a price advantage over name-brand items.

They sometimes stock the seafood salad I crave so much that has not been seen for ages at other Safeways... Prices are way higher than my typical neighborhood Safeways in Mountain View. Its prettier, well organized - but I do get regular sticker shock when I hop in for a quick last minute grab-and-go meal or drink. Its consistent with other Safeways in terms of quality and layout.
