Safeway has different items that we need to get there, but $11.98 for 18 eggs is a little too much for me to buy. Other than that, their chicken pot pie is something we look forward to. They have isles of associated spices and specialty foods. When items are on sale, its a good time to buy. You can always stop at Starbucks inside their store!

Placed an order for two cakes for a wedding 3 weeks in advance. A standard sheet cake with zero decor and a plain small cake with zero decor. Upon pickup, we were informed we would need to wait 20 more minutes for the sheet cake to be ready at 10:40 AM. And the small cake hadnt even been started. We had to choose a last minute premade cake. With so much advance notice, it should have been ready upon pickup and they damn near derailed a wedding.

Theres an employee who works here who is absolutely just terribly rude! He’s an older gentleman ( although he’s not a gentleman ) . He’s an older man. I run into him all the time and he’s always giving me the dirtiest of looks. Anytime I run into him and it’s a tight squeeze, I always say Hello and excuse me. He just shakes his head and just gives the dirtiest of looks! There was another occasion where he was off duty and shopping as a customer. My elderly Mother and I were in the self checkout lane and he just completely lost his cool and just started lashing out on us . He called us stupid and he said things like “ It isn’t that hard to use a self check out “ . Granted I have no idea what his issue was as we weren’t going slow. We were going just as fast as anyone else. I think he thought he could get away with talking to us like that because he wasn’t in Safeway Uniform but I instantly recognized him. There was another occasion after that where I seen him in Safeway Uniform lashing out on an elderly lady. Not sure his issue with elderly folks as he’s older himself or maybe he just has issues with Women? For the most part, all the employees here are nice and friendly and I don’t have any complaints but this guy, I can’t for the life of me understand why you guys keep this guy around? He’s made me so uncomfortable that I started giving all my business to Raleys and I shop alot so that is a big loss!

I placed custom cupcakes order in person yesterday, Saturday 6/1/24 noon time so I can pick up today, Sunday 6/2/24 at 4pm. I called two hours before pick up time only to find out that they DID NOT make my order and simply said that the order form may not have been placed correctly where it should be so that the baker can make them. How also interesting that the baker had left for the day already. Now I end up not having any cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday party and it will be too late to order even for pick up early morning tomorrow. HOW FRUSTRATING and what’s worse is no apology was done. The person on the line said he has some that are on the shelves. I said the reason why I pre-ordered was because we wanted it customized according to my daughter’s favorite colors. Again, THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING! The bakery staff need improvement in taking orders and most of all ensuring that the order would have been made. How do you explain to a child that someone at the store messed up and that there will be no cupcakes?!

Nina Mike and Marianne of the pharmacy are so amazingly helpful. They know my whole family and are so friendly. Also a new guy that works I. The store named Reggie is so sweet. He helps me to my car anytime he sees me and always has a kind word.

Deli extremely understaffed. I was there waiting for 10 minutes only to be skipped in line and not helped. Was waiting for my sandwich and for some reason the worker Jose decided to help two other people and I was there first. He was hard at work and don’t blame him for losing track but this is unfair to the customer and to the employee. Came in early to get a lunch for work. Left late for work without a sandwich.

I came in today as soon as they opened and I had bought stuff but then returned one item because I thought it would be free but when I came to return it derisee or whatever her name was she was rude. She started huffing and puffing because I returned one item and I paid with card and she returned my money with cash….. I used to work at Safeway so I know that you have to return it back to the card when the customer pays with a card. It was an unpleasant experience. Usually everyone is nice but I’ve never seen this lady before. Check your employees.

Watch out for the deli. Very unclean, and the salads I bought fresh was full of rotting lettuce. Not the first time but I tell you this will be the last. Prepared food should have some kind of standards. They obviously do not follow health And safety guidelines.

I don’t like writing reviews but this is ridiculous at this point … I usually come here to get a sandwich made . But the last two few days I came here . The guy told me he couldn’t make my sandwich because he was “busy” so I came back a day later and was told to wait while he cut the meat I wanted . I said okay .. he then walked around the kitchen for awhile and after 5 mins told me “ you might as well just get something else that’s made already because I’ll have to clean kitchen & the meat machine first”… I just won’t come back here again .

This location is getting a little ridiculous with the crazy price increases. Ive found things that were literally nearly double the price of other, nearby Safeway locations. Its things like charging more for their grocery store sushi than an actual sushi restaurant charges, charging $5.99 for 4 brownies which they layer on top of each other so that the frosting gets ripped off of most of them. Yikes! In addition, I just noticed that I havent been getting any of the promised bonus points or rewards that I clipped on my account. They gave me some of them but not even close to all, check your receipts!

I went in recently and realized they have a REAL butcher/meat counter! I had a chance to get FRESH ham off the bone from a real person, and not what was wrapped and sitting out (like one on Lincoln) for who knows how long, drying out. They were nice enough to do it for $5 Friday, which gave it a classier feel.The store was very clean Looking, aisles neat and clearly marked. It was like a Gourmet Marketplace-beautiful.Id definitely recommend this as best in this area and its good to personally go, at times, because, I found a sale on soft drinks, not published in the weekly ads! Also, I noticed that when someone expresses a problem, Management takes the time to make it right, in order to make us feel more comfortable, shopping there..class Act. 🥰👍✌️

Id like to thank Colleen on checkstand #5 for her professionalism and good cheer. It was 4 pm on Friday and the store was crowded. She was quick, efficient and friendly. While helping the customer in front of me, his bag of sugar tore. Colleen was quick to have a staff member fetch a new bag, while keeping the line moving. She greeted me with a smile, asked my bday (I was buying beer), and wished me a happy early birthday (its next week). She was really hustling, but gave everyone her attention and kindness. Ridiculously coordinated, floor plan is outrageous and takes twice as long to shop, card readers are outdated causing issues and delays, lastly.... to purchase liquor in the 1 designated line has taken away hours of time from there loved ones, friends, personal time, and for how long this operation has been going, its only gotten worse. Decent store. Ill give 4 stars instead of 3, but it has not been one of the best Safeway stores I have shopped. I will say, it has IMPROVED in the last couple of years. Lines at check-out and display organization have improved tremendously. This area really needs a bigger Safeway. Bakery often looks good. Deli looks good, perhaps under-staffed. Floral looks good. Customers are basically forced to use self-check out, but the lines move quickly enough, and someone does seem to be there regularly to help with slip-ups on the machines. The store is clean, they keep the parking lot nice, and I see people out there collecting trash. I dont feel unsafe. Its convenient and on our way home. Mostly, the high prices keep me away these days.Additional comments/complaints:This is long for a Safeway review, but its been a popular topic for the neighborhood residents. Its a decent store. But only in that it has IMPROVED. Staff isnt particularly helpful or friendly. You bag your own groceries, and then they say thanks for helping. (What happened to the courtesy clerks??) I used to come home with expired items. Produce dept is lacking; rarely do I find a good red onion. I live in the neighborhood, but Ive started driving further to get my groceries because the prices are SO high. Occasional scam people around asking for money, usually under the No Soliciting sign.And now... beginning to feel like a grocery store prison with the new setup. The small section in the center of the store selling alcohol and random hygiene items is a little inconvenient. Oddly, the beer is not located there. And adding it made the aisles confusing. Im glad it isnt barricaded yet. By the front of Starbucks, the displays take up too much space. The new changes - one door for entry and various barricades inside the entrance - are a little alarming. Maybe its the theft Ive heard about that drives the changes, and thats really sad, but it sucks for those of us just trying to do our shopping, and its a bad look.

5 Stars for the store; 2 stars for the rude older white female in deli area. I shop at this location due to close to job. On two occasions including this morning, I was left standing at the deli sandwich counter while an older white female made eye contact and proceeded to stay in the back washing dishes and other duties. I finally bought a pre-packaged sandwich. On another occasion, she was very rude and lied about the cost of chips/soda that you can purchase with a sandwich! Im not sure what is going on with her, but she did help a white male who came after me and who kept asking her to help him and she reluctantly stopped what she was doing to help him. Just unacceptable behavior for someone who encounters customers!

This is my neighborhood grocery store. The staff is helpful. There’s a big self checkout section. They’ve blocked off the second entrance and exit. It’s a little annoying lol but outside of that I have no complaints.I went recently and now you have to scan your receipt for the gate to open and let you leave the store…keep ya receipt it’s the key ha ha

My local safeway. Always very clean and orderly. Staff is pleasant and very helpful. I havent used the pharmacy much but floral and baked goods always met our needs. Its only been a few times over the past six years they didnt have what Id gone in to buy. Sometimes they dont have enough check-out lanes open and this can slow you down. If you only have a few items go to the self check.

We purchased a Thanksgiving dinner for a family in crisis. We had NO idea the dinner that was NOT available until 12 noon or after would be frozen. Who provides a frozen dinner ON THANKSGIVING DAY?!?!I was embarrassed for the family and angered at the cost for a frozen meal.The turkey.. even though cooked still had a 2 hr heating time. This was truly sad!

This Safeway is the best in all Bay Area!!!! I love their customer service in all departments. If there’s any issues management takes care of it! They have great variety of floral department and roses last long. Starbucks the ladies are very patient and nice attitude. I highly recommend this Safeway it’s clean great employees!!!!!

First time in this Vallejos Safeway, area around Safeway looks nice even though it was night time around 11:25pm I could tell, parking lot nice and clean, but I had a problem buying some meat, since employees were stocking products and the aisles were blocked completely.I let it know to one of the Safeways employees, also the only cashier open was self pay.

Cashier was not helpful when I told her that sign over the dog food was buy 10 get 2 free. Refused to give me the offer and said I needed to go the the website and download the offer...that was not what the sign said. So, I just said no thank you and walked out. They are not customer friendly or helpful. There are other stores that will get my money, just not Safeway.

This is my go to the supermarket since I live in Glen Cove, Vallejo. It is a very well stocked supermarket with everything that you could need. The liquor and toiletries are in an area that has its own checkout stations. They do this for security reasons and to avoid shoplifters. The supermarket has Western Union and MoneyGram for international and national money transfers.

Whoever is managing this Safeways has prices literally through the roof treating people in Glen cove like they live in Beverly hills. $10 for bacon sorry plus tax so $12 for bacon. Unbelievable! The SAME bacon elsewhere has always been 5/6 dollars but to charge double is straight out of pocket & taking advantage of customers! Oreo cookies $10 next week itll be $15 hahaha...ill NEVER pay that! Just because I live close to Safeways doesnt mean I have to shop there Ill find somewhere else is that is wayyy more reasonable! Some shelves pretty empty, but could be because of Easter, etc. Tried to ask one employee to reach something for me and was immediately told that wasnt his area, ask someone else. Checker seemed like he was in slow motion in the 15 items or less lane, yawning and slowly swiping items across the scanner. Not one of my better visits unfortunately.

The store has very long lines and instead of the staff getting the lines down theyre too busy talking about other stuff that has nothing to do about anything. Especially when people are only buying two or three things they have to get in line because one of the things is alcohol if they would have somebody working a register on the express line I bet you it would help a lot and make people happy. To your security guards are a joke I observe over four people shoplifting in your store and they were hitting all nothing but seafood and meats and your guards were at the door not doing anything. Why waste money on security guards that cannot do nothing change the company they are quality security guards out there but there are also lousy security guards. Will never go back ever again

It was actually much better than other Safeways. Not only was it much kept and was usually expedient. It also had really good options around it which makes the small plaza a great place to try out. Didnt have any problems at all. Usually the only problems youll encounter are from the customets themselves. Would recommend when going to a Safeway or is one of the best ones to go to in the area!

My favorite local grocery. The produce department is well organized and beautifully displayed. Shelves are always well stocked. The bakery is always ready to help and will special order for holidays and events. The butchers are helpful and accommodating within the bounds of Safeways guidelines, i.e.; they can grind meat or make special cuts, and the flower department is amazing. The prices are honest the staff always ready to help. The only disappointment I have had is with the deli department where they seem to have an attitude from time to time. Maybe to much customer contact.

Long lines not enough associates to work there registers, cashiers calling desperate for back ups and no one to show up. Not sure who is doing the schedules but Im not impressed with there schedule staffing. Cleaning carts not what I expected. There is always an issue with open registers. They should have at least open a new cash register if they see that the line has more than 4 people. Honestly, at times even with 4 people ahead in the line, the waiting time is long. Average 10-15 minutes. Please help addressing this matter. Also, you can try to install selfcheckout lines.

Ordinarily, this is my favorite Safeway near me. Tonights experience was annoying as the checker and bagger carried on a personal conversation, and topped it off by even ignoring my thank you as I was leaving, as if I was invisible. Not a happy experience tonight. So for tonights experience only, I give 2 stars. The store is clean and well stocked--except for the moldy oranges--but overall, its one of the better Safeway stores.

Friendly (and helpful) staff. Open 6am close 1am. The deli and sandwich dept are usually well stocked, but some days items are missing. Produce has lots of choices. In the back of the store is a doctors on duty place with a RN person for medical consultation.

Staff is friendly, but what is management thinking!?! Always understaffed. I stopped shopping here after many frustrating experiences. But they are right around the corner from me and so I find myself here from time to time in a pinch. I only had a few items, but there was no express lane open and no self check out open, only one cashier with no bagger and a very long line. While waiting in line for 20 minutes I realized they have taken down the giant signs about their policy promising to open a new cashier lane if 3 or more people were standing in line. Glad to see they took them down since they never ahered to their own policy anyway, and it would only cause more frustration to read that BS while in a line 6-8 people deep. Again, the staff is friendly, and clearly this is a management problem.

Its a nice and clean place. Theres a good number of produce options; a lot more than the Walmart Supercenter. The prices can be higher than Walmart but at least you dont have to deal with all the messy aisles and hunting the products as none of them are in their places at a Walmart.You wont find a worker to help you look for something, so thats a negative thing you need to be prepared for.

Safeway should be doing a much better job protecting its customers.They should have people at their front doors making sure people sanitize upon entry as well as be taking temperatures.The shopping carts no one is attending anymore and disinfectito do so.There is no hand sanitizer at the check out stand.How many people touch those machines each day.Im very disappointed.We all need to shop we shouldnt have to put our lives at risk to do so. 4300 people a day have been dying across California.Safeway as a nation wide company and in our communities should help make a stand against this disease.

This review is for the deli, particularly a guy named Lorwnzo. I got turned away from a local pizza place because their computers were down. I came to Safeway, needing hot food, with low hopes. I found a refrigerated pizza in the deli and asked Lorenzo is he could heat a couple up. He said hed see if they would fit in his small oven, which they did. Dont shop here if you have the option. Consistently the worst run grocery store I have ever used. You frequently see others palpably angry at all the varied issues in the store, it would be comical, but in reality it seems like employees would be in danger if there were any. Theyre constantly out of stock of multiple staples, the managers also take pride in how silly the fine print on deals are just to make them rarely honored. As others mentioned the checking is slow but recently I had a new low of trying to self check three items only to have the system lock out all the registers and the employee there would only say that they were just covering and didnt work the registers? Anyways the only possible way to get out same day is to hope the deli checkout is open and not busy.Prices suck across the board. Deli looks literally the same day after day, I would worry about it but it looks like nobody buys the salads after looking at them.

Updated 8/16/19...I used to stop at this Safeway almost every morning to get my day startered with a breakfast sandwich or breakfast bowl. My favorite is the bacon egg and cheese croissant. But for about 2 months now the deli oven has been broken and it doesnt look like they even care to fix it...the store lately looks run down...dirty...shelfs look empty in some areas...like who does their ordering...who does their maintenance? My friend and I were racially profiled while visiting this Safeway. The self checkout attendant was very dismissive and rude to us from the jump and when my friend was checking out she accused us of stealing a bottle of body wash that we’d put back on its original shelf. Called us dirty, lying thieves under her breath and whispered about how she knew we’d be trouble from the moment we walked up to her coworker. I can’t say I’m surprised considering the demographics of the area but that doesn’t make such blatant disrespect okay. Every time I go into a Safeway in California, I am so disappointed. I love Safeway. Shop in them in several states over many years. Always a clean parking lot with the carts rounded up properly. Cheerful, competant cashiers and baggers. Some body to carry your groceries if needed. If much of a line forms, 3 or more, they open another line. And so on.Not here. Parking lots so cluttered with carts, you worry one will roll into your car. Long lines to check out. Many cashiers incompetent. No support for them either, No bag boy/girl. Its just a mess. The Pharmacy is HORRIBLE! Ive used them a handful of times out of convenience since this is my neighborhood Safeway. The pharmacy staff is less than friendly and the Pharmacist makes up her own rules and regulations instead of following state laws. In CA you can purchase up to 30 syringes or needles WITHOUT a prescription, no questions asked. The tech and the Pharmacist looked at me like I was a crack head when I tried purchasing diabetic syringes and asked me what they were for! I explained (even though I shouldnt have had to per CA law) and the Pharmacist told me I still needed a prescription because it was store policy, so I had my doctor call one in and they STILL gave me grief about it, saying the doctor didnt give instructions, so the prescription was incomplete. The doctor didnt need to give me instructions because I know how to use them! It was a needle, not the medication. So ridiculous! I called Walmart and had them transfer the prescription.

Eight minutes on hold waiting for anyone to answer the phone is ridiculous. Just looking for the sourdough baggets to fill with clam chowder. Cannot find them anywhere.

I go early to beat ANY crowds. Employees are helpful and store sources from local producers.
