We were actually here to check out the DMV kiosk inside, but had a look around.Very well stocked up and properly arranged store.I loved their collection of fresh flowers, organic fruits and vegetables along with juices.It was my first time inside a Safeway and Im totally impressed.Looks like theres a membership system where in members enjoy good discounts. Will surely check it out.

Me being from Southern California Los Angeles, Ive never heard of Safeway until today visiting San Francisco Bay Area. When i seen the name i thought it was maybe a hardware store or something. I definitely didnt think it would be a grocery store LMAO. I like this place it felt comfortable like home, plus it has a Starbucks for people that need theyre fix haha :)

The refresh of this store is very nice and gives an upscale vibe. Im impressed with the variety of brands and items available. Hot foods, deli, etc is a nice touch. The only downside for me is, this store is not near where I live!

Recently fully remodeled. One of the most pristine vegetable and fruit sections Ive ever seen. Beautiful organic vegetables well labeled well laid out well managed. They also have bulk items that you can bag up yourself.Always great produce although not the cheapest of course. If you want cheap you go to sprouts or Walmart grocery or one of those. If you want kind of top-notch selection and quality go to safeway.Also a lot of prepared meals so they dont have to go to fast food.Also updated all of their cakes and pastry section to be very impressive.

Safeway sells these salt bbs they have a whole display and the containers you fill says refil and get $4 off. But when I go through the cash register the cashiers play dumb and so do the managers and refuse to give the $4 discount. That is clearly written on the package.

Really large and fresh produce section! Open all the time. Has a Starbucks, a deli inside, and pharmacy. Good amount of items in kosher and Asian food section. Lots of people in check out lanes usually. Self checkout also pretty full.

I bought a pre-made layered cake on Wednesday January 31st for my husband birthday in san ramon and first off I was told I could pay at the Bakery which i always have done in the Livermore location then when I brought the cake home the cake had no filling in-between the layers just on the outer side to made it looked like there was filling so the cake so dry I will never buy a cake from them again

2023 update - 2 noticeable changes. If you ❤️ the breakfast burritos, they are using scrambled egg. Since I am picky about my eggs. I am choosing to purchase ingredients & make at home. The price is still $5.99The store has demos in wine and cheese/humus with veggies. But, I tried the grated 🥕 they were fine in sample, but slimey (water collection) in the package & expensive. Create your own slices at home.Demonstrator gets high marks. Buy cheese in blocks and cut it up yourself. Saves plastic container. The stores need to get rid of all that plasic--yuck!Price overcharging still an issue. I believe there are just too many products for the staff NOT to miss some.Also, can you turn down the dial. It is freezing in the store. Energy waster.If you have the Safeway app you get digital deals, but you must show it to cashier. I overspend because the app lets you select coupons, but w/o final step you lose $$$. 😔******************************************************************Update: This is on the company - In this weeks flyer (Nov. 2- Nov. 8) there is a Multi Meal Deal. No more going to the state. I was told to push the red button which I had already done. There was no one to help (out to lunch).Now the bad news, do not purchase Ice from this store. I do not usually buy it here, but at Lucky because I can find it. Safeway has it right by the front door. I forgot to purchase it, so grabbed a bag, paid $.10 for a plastic bag (keep drip free). But, as I headed out the door my cart suddenly stopped, and an alarm bell went off.I had broken my wrist and recently got my cast off, so this sudden halt created me to twist my healing wrist. I wear a support brace, but this unexpected halt was violent all over a $4.98 bag of ice.

Unfortunately the safeway app and drive up and go features dont help you get what you need and a timely fashion. Set a pick up time frame for 6pm ( placed order at noon) and they didnt get started on assembling my order until 615pm. Waste my time and resources as even if I cancelled the order and went inside for what I needed, I wouldnt be refunded the amount I needed for those exact same grocies until after 7days. Safeway rips you off.

My go-to store, and not just because it is close. Consistently clean and well stocked, great inventory. But I come back for the people - Benny the store director runs a great store and has put together and trained a fantastic team. (Memo to Safeway leadership- leave Benny to do his thing!) Shout out to the permanently friendly and efficient Linda in the check stand, and Selena for her great work in Floral. Great store!

They got stuff and I bought some. Did I say it was way more expensive this time than last time. So today the checkout lady I think was trying to short me $10. She handed me $1 wrapped in the recipe. I confronted her and she without hesitation gave me the $10 bill she was hoping I wouldnt notice. Yes I paid in cash. Ive been back got the same checker but no more problems.

Your store needs to update your hours on Google if you open at 5 am in of 24 hours like Google says. Trying to go to your store before 5 am is a joke. Take the sign off the door & change your hours. Very disappointing.

I know almost every worker in the store, they are very nice and friendly. At the Starbucks one of the workers named Rachel remembers my dad order every single time, plus she is nice I’m recommending that the boss should give her a raise, same as Mike on register 4, and Roberto, who sometimes takes the carts. If the Boss reads this give them a raise in the middle of the store 4:45PM today

After having my first Costco shopping experience, I quickly realized how demeaning (especially for returns) and high priced Safeway is. I will no longer shop at Safeway.Demeaning - if you want to be reminded of being treated like a child, return an item. Safeways website states if you are not 100% satisfied, they guarantee your money back. This is only true if you persist.I also called the number on the receipt last week. I still have not received a call back in regards to the cashier.High price - Costco is MUCH CHEAPER. Heres an idea how much cheaper. 3 lb of organic vegetables at Safeway is about $17. At Costco, 3 lbs of vegetables is about $ 12. About a $5 savings at Costco.As far as Costco, membership is $60 annually but you will makeup for it in about 3 months or less. Then after that, its profit in your pocket. Sign up for an annually free visa card that gives 2% rewards and avoid their $120 executive membership. Your welcome.

I was looking for a specific product that I could no longer find on the shelf, even though the tag showed that the product was still active. One evening I went to 3 different Safeway locations and again, I had no luck. I was fortunate that the last Safeway I went to was the San Ramon location in Diablo Plaza. There I found the most helpful and customer service oriented individual who went above and beyond any customer service that I had encountered in many months. She is the Receiving Manager there and when I explained my dilemma, she offered to take a look for me in back and stated that she would call me if she found any. A few hours later I received a message that she had located the items and that she would place them at the customer service counter with my name on them for purchase. In my eyes she did what countless other stores were unable to do. Other than the 3 stores I searched that evening, I also have a friend who has searched various other Safeway locations in Contra Costa County. This isn’t to say that the absence of this product was any fault of Safeway or their employees. It was just a disappointing situation. So, I am very appreciative to Leann, the Receiving Manager, who was able to make my friend and I smile all day because of her help. Thank you Safeway, San Ramon!

I love shopping Safeway, especially their Bakery departments. This time I tried the hot bar for lunch and boy was I pleasantly surprised! I had the Albóndigas (meatball soup), it was delicious!! Oh my, the flavors brought back childhood memories. Albóndigas were a staple in our diet growing up. Thank you Safeway for the delicious food that inadvertently resulted in warm memories.

Usually very busy, and even the express lanes are slow. Even when the lines are short, they move slowly. Its hard to find an employee. However, it has a simple layout, easy to read signs, and is always clean and neat. The shelves are usually well stocked and have plenty of brands and options. Not the place to go if you want cheap prices, but if you just need a few things, its good for that.

Actually visited Quest Diagnostic, which is located inside Safeway.But we where shocked with the rude response by person who is working there, she is literally shouting on us,for no reason disappointed.Want to give Zero Star for that lady.Quest Diagnostics: She should be trained or retrained, how to speak to customers.I dont know Her name ( she came from lab) .However, we visited Safeway which was great. Wanted to order 4 sandwiches at the deli counter. Waited 20 minutes. 2 workers were behind the counter said someone was coming to help us. Finally I had to chase down the store manager. I told her the problem. She walked away. No apology, no I will get someone, no discount for our trouble. Nothing. Eventually a worker showed up and made our food. By then there were 7 people in line for sandwiches. All employees including the manager acted like I was putting them out by asking for service. I have also tried to order sandwiches from here on Door Dash only to wait and have my order cancelled since nobody could fill my order. Just moved to San Ramon from Concord. Concord and Clayton stores have excellent service and delicious deli sandwiches.

This is the WORST organized grocery store I’ve ever been in. NOTHING makes sense. You’ll walk for days trying to find the dairy split between 3 locations. Sour cream and cheese? Middle aisle of the store, like ZERO other stores in history. Milk is nearby tho, right? NOPE, milk is back right wall. THIS STORE MAKES NO SENSE. Unless you realize it’s designed to trap and confuse you so you can’t shop efficiently. Once you view it as a predatory move by a corporation at the expense of its customers, it all makes sense.

Food poisoning from Potato Salad at the deli counter 7/12/22. Kept it refrigerated straight from the store for about 5 hours before consuming. Vomited for about 4 hours straight shortly after eating it. Ate nothing else that day which could possibly cause this. Had to explain several times to the deli manager that they need to REMOVE that item from their display case immediately.

We stopped shopping there. After witnessing countless dirtbags allowed to walk in and just steal shopping carts full of food and nobody call the cops we said forget it. We shop at smart and final.The dirtbags even threatened employees one night but the management wasnt allowed to call the police. Call corporate first is theyre policy. So,no. This Safeway is my favorite store. One exception-the deli department: inefficient, understaffed, poorly managed if there is any management at all. Today I wanted a sandwich. It took 4-5 minutes to get her attention. Another time after waiting for several other customers I ordered 3 sandwiches, the employee roller her eyes at me. Too bad the rest of the store is great.

Big, clean, spacious. This Safeway is not like your ordinary, run of the mill Safeway. This is an upscale Safeway. It has a dry-aged beef case (cuts of beef are hanging in the display case) next to their butcher counter area. This place also has a cool large Bulk Foods area, over 350 items to choose from, in back of the extra large Fresh Produce area. It also has a bulk olive oil bar. Safeway can clearly compete with Whole Foods and Sprouts Bulk Food Departments. I was pleasantly surprised that this Safeway has high quality and flavored bulk tea for sale, in particular Green Tea. The pharmacy is in the front of the store and their personal care area is laid out as if its a mini drugstore. Staff is friendly.

Always running out of things. No such thing as a one pound pre-packaged hamburger meat. Corporate has told store managers to make 1.5 lb. packages, +/- .10 lb. Do you have a lot of recipes calling for 1.5 lbs? I sure dont. Never enough checkers, many times four people deep in line. Finally, it seems whenever I get used to an item, they stop carrying it. Just never a pleasurable experience.

This safeway has gone down hill, worst in customer service, worst in employee to customer relations. When you have 15 cashiers, 6 are open and the line is over five customer, you think they would open another register, NO, I called while in line and requested some service and NO cashier showed up, the ones that seems available are just talking to each other in the back, no one even called up some cashier on the loud intercom. The manager needs to be replaced or re train, he just stands there and ignores the situation. Been shopping there for years, done with this branch. Boycott this place till they change manager. 1 star is even to high to rate this store.

Clean, every. Isle, helpful stockers was my experience, in fact I couldnt find flan nor almond milk pudding and the person in the yogurt area walked me to the isle then the item we were seeking. Super short check out line, nice clerk cashiering us today, even got two game pieces for Monopoly and he asked if we had the gameboard already and offered a bag for carryout, be we brought ours in and forget I had tucked it in my jacket, haha.ALL GOOD,...they had a foreign food isle and a(GF) gluten free isle. Lots of pasta and sauces too. Amazingly different than20 years ago. O Organcis took care of our Organic approved items from FDA seal AND our dirty dozen non requirements. Thanks Safeway and mister Beede! Good trip.

Its very close to my home. So its very convenient to buy anything I need there. I enjoy shopping at safeway also because some of their deals are cheap with high quality, and the nice and clean environment as well. Oh, the most important point is, which is also the reason why my 5 years old daughter said safeway is her favorite market, they provide some special carts for children. They are like ambulance, police car and fire truck. Thus Children could enjoy themselves sitting in the carts while mothers are shopping.

This store is the most racists safeway i have ever been in in my life. I walked in there at 1:32 am with a case of huggies.diapers i did not see anyone at the cash register so i walked around and asked the first clerk i saw was.she the cashier . She told me that she was not the cashier and that the cashier was most likely in the frozen food section or in the drink aisle, I then walked around and went ahead and grabbed some more Huggies diapers since i was going to make a purchase anyway i was trying to save time.( The diaper aisle was directly in front of me) so instead of having to walk around and find a cashier to do my return 1st and then having to walk back to the diapers I went ahead and grabbed what I was going to purchase so i could do my return and the purchase at one time. I then proceeded to walk to the register because by this time the cashier suddenly appears. I walk up to the register....check stand 3 to be exact and continue to finish with my transaction.I had my receipt in my wallet I gave the reciept to the cashier. I tell him the diapers were on one receipt and some eye ointment that i had in my safeway bag, which i also came in with was on the other receipt. I put them on the counter along with 3 cases of diapers i was purchasing and I asked him to return the diapers and ointment first. He started.to ring up two cases of diapers for return which was the wrong ones and then instead of him doing the return first then dealing with my purchases he added the.return and purchase on the same receipt. I asked can you do them in a separate transaction. The reason being i was using my credit card for.the purchase. Not the cash. He proceeded to tell me no Im going to use the money from this transaction to make your purchase so I said what if I dont want to do it that way he was very rude and disrespectful and was trying to tell me what and how i was going to pay for my stuff. so I finally told him to cancel out the whole entire transaction he threw all the diapers into my cart the one i came with and two i didnt come in with. I was about to just grab my case of diapers and walking out the door but instead I asked if I could speak to a manager or night shift supervisor they proceeded to tell me there was no manager available until the morning and that there was only a supervisor when I asked to speak to the supervisor who was supposed to be a woman named lisa, another clerk jumped in the situation that was not a supervisor nor did i see him when i walked in, he was a black man who very rudely and threateningly walked up to me he said that he was the supervisor and.then went on to tell me that I did not walk into the store with anything i said yes i did. Run back your cameras but im leaving with what i came with. He stood in front of my cart and pushed me back and then he snatched the diapers out of my hand, twisting my wrist and breaking my nail in the process. I tried to grab my diapers back and leave because now im in tears, terrified and in awe of the way im being treated when i did that he pushed me again against the register. This man was about 6ft 4 towering over me. With all the injustice going on and me being in a predomintely white neighborhood i felt to it best to leave and deal with managers and corp. He said he was calling the police but I truly was not comfortable even tho i did absolutely nothing wrong. So i left with nothing not even what i came in there with. Words cant explain how i feel but this is VERY FAR FROM OVER. For those that care about rights i pray YOU DO not shop at this safeway.
