I cant recommend this place. My husband and brother and I were traveling through San Jose on vacation, stopped for about 15 minutes to grab some groceries for our AirBnB, we parked inside the parking lot across from a rather large security camera, which gives to you the false sense as a visitor of safety, since its right there. Within 15 mins of us being in and out of the store, and despite our car being locked. We were robbed. A woman in black sedan with covered license plate and tinted windows smashed our rental car windows backseat, and took my husband and brothers personal backpacks. My husband rushed to stop them, but couldnt reach them. This all happened in front of the store in-front of a security camera. The staff didnt do much of anything at all to help us out. We had to clean up the broken glass on our own, and no staff even attempted to help us out. We called the police and they didnt come for 3 hours. We still have no resolution, despite there being a security camera, but no security around the area. As it is apparently a very unsafe place for anyone. Very very disappointed with how things were dealt with us, we lost over $3,000 worth of belongings.

A specific cashier was rude, did not answer my questions, had a bad attitude and was looking at her phone and did not have the courtesy to pay attention to me when I asked about a product. Poor service gave me face for asking about an offer. I ask that they have a little more than empathy for the client, or at least answer my questions. specifically the cashier named Tifanny at register number 7 in the liquor area. Really bad attitude. SHE REALLY UPSET ME, THE WAY SHE ASNWER AND THE WAY SHE WAS TALKING TO US......

Won’t ever shop here again. Nothing wrong with the food, but just because the store doesn’t care about the gift card fraud going on in the store — and because of the corporate contempt and disrespect to a long time customer here like myself.I bought Amazon gift cards for my mom ($150) and for my sis ($50) back in February. When they both opened the gift cards, they called me and said their cards weren’t redeemable because the middle numbers had been scratched off and weren’t readable. Later learned this has been a scam going on across the country.My gf and went back to the store with the receipt, and at first, the check out woman basically just put her hands up and said “nothing I can do, contact Amazon “. But the associate store manager (guy named James Toledo) interjected and said he would open a ticket for us. He was a nice guy, says it has happened before at the store, and said we’d be refunded in like 1-2 weeks.It’s now been 3 months, and even though I have called the gift card line many times, can never get through. Even though I’ve emailed Safeway’s gift card team, multiple times, I’ve only gotten a generic email from “Jeremy Mitchell” saying my case is being investigated and this email is not checked regularly .I’m leaving this review now because I just saw on Yelp that someone left a review saying the same thing happened to them. Meaning the store has learned nothing and has made no changes — like putting gift cards behind the counter . The fraud is still happening.Safeway makes money hand over fist, and yet they refuse to make things right for long time customers like me and like the guy on Yelp. Don’t give these crooks your money, Safeway doesn’t care enough to refund you. Buy your Amazon cards as e gift cards directly from Amazon .Safe to say my $200 is never getting refunded because of Safeway’s negligence. Then they’ll show their contempt for you by telling you you’ll be refunded as they pretend you don’t exist for months.

This Safeway is always well stocked. Its a bigger location than the surrounded Safeways I been to... the only down fall is the lack of cahiers, dont understand why they are always under staff. The prepared food has a large selection which I love.

This is a big, clean Safeway store with a deli and bakery. The parking lot can be busy during the week especially during lunch time. There are several restaurants located in the same shopping center.

Overall this Safeway is fine.Friendly staff.Good service.Starbucks inside the store.I have two separate gripes.- The Deli Dept seems to run out of fried chicken before 12 noon. I asked why and I was told they dont have the staff to keep up with the demand.- The water multi pack runs out early.I would suggest the night stockers only put ½ of the water supply initially and then stock the remaining ½ in the afternoon.-renaygarseeya

Every evening I come here, no matter which day, the line have at least 5 people. Is Safeway strapped for cash they can’t hire more cashiers? Today there are 9 in front of me in the express lane. I end up returning my 10 items and left. Forget it. Too much time at the line. Prices are not great either. I’ll definitely think twice next time before coming here.

Out of all the Safeways in the San Jose area; interestingly they turned the most populated grocery into a prison complex with newly upgraded security guards, upgraded cameras and sensor gates! Detergent, cleaning products and even coffee now is locked up safely from greedy consumers! It was bad enough before the “upgrade”. Now this grocery store is a mess to get through and is a one-exit store to cause even worse traffic. Thank goodness for finances going directly to security instead of making the grocery an easy stroll for goods. Literally is now the worst Safeway in San Jose. Hope this helps.

The pharmacy has a friendly and knowledgeable staff, when meds ready theyll send you a txt message advising your meds are ready, the pharmacy closes by 8pm. Its conveniently located in a secure, affluent residential area at the corner of Capitol Xpwy & Tully Rd, within walking distance to the Eastridge Shopping Mall, and it is within walking distance to several fast food restaurants, worth to give it a try

Big Store day after Valentines Day, looking for deals on flowers and chocolate. Absolutely not ..at this storethey had some pretty bouquets that priced out over $225 mainflower was a dozen longstems some greenery and scattered variety of aromatics 20 flowers in all and a standard glass vase, $275.00 ...what? cmon. .... Silicon Valley thing mabey, Did I say this was a Safeway Supermarket floral department. ? Now they were nice looking arangents but wowSo turned around to get a $6.00 cup of Joe and was informed by the young coffee professional at the Starbucks mini store, sorry sir were closed....Heck couldnt afford that cup anyway. I was going for a vente white chocolate mocha with an extra shot for a total of 4 expresso shots and whip cream on top. Iced.... to be fair, hence the 6$ tag. Highly recommend this Beverage for a after lunch coma fix that has legs all the way to a 7pm light dinner snack.... Cheers

I really wanted to talk to a Manager.To Rave about the size, the impressive set up, the cleanliness, the organized /beautifully aisles, the merchandise.A First Timer - I went to the Pharmacy for a Flu shot - me the most delightful, attractive, petite woman pharmacist- all alone. Busy and cordial. Decided to wander the store - it was so vast and nicely organized. Wanted to praise the store to a Manager - they will read this- Bravo! Great Safeway.

This place is set up like a prison. You have a single cattle gate to enter, and another to exit. Everything is blocked off by pallets of detergent and such, creating a giant wall to funnel everyone down a single idle. There is a central cage where you have to purchase alcohol and other things. I wont be returning.Safeway, if you treat people like cattle, we wont do business with you. Sorry there is a homeless and theft problem, but find a better way to deal with it. Hire security and use force. This is ridiculous.

So, I would have given this Safeway five stars, but, I took my interactions a female manager who was working at the customer service, desk on 9/12/2023 into consideration.However, the intent of this review is to highlight two employees at this specific Safeway in a POSITIVE way.First & foremost, in mid August 2023, I visited this particular Safeway to purchase some vegan food items that was already prepared (i.e. cooked, etc).Unfortunately, to my surprise, when I got to the refrigerated vegan area, it was all empty, not one item could be found. After chatting with two employees who were not aware what was going on with the vegan section, I requested the manager one the evening shift. First, I chatted with a male manager named Izakk who was unsure what was going on then, I requested to speak with another manager. Eventually, the second manager on the shift named Patricia came over to assist me with the issue. She too did not know why all the refrigerated vegan items were removed. After speaking with someone on the walkie talkie, they stated the vegan refrigerated area food had to be thrown out due to being spoiled when the store and San Jose area had a power outage.I informed Patricia that I was trying to purchase food that did not need to be cooked nor microwaved. She apologized for the inconvenience. I asked if the store had a microwave I could use, and Patricia went above & beyond and allowed me to utilize the microwave in their break room.Again, Patricia, thank you for accommodating me.Lastly, I would like to highlight one of Safeways new employees named Exavier Ortega that assisted me on 9/12/2023. This gentleman truly saved the day. What I purchased was frozen and needed to be microwaved. I tried speaking with the female manager on that shift, and stated I wanted to speak with her privately. I was standing in front of Starbucks and she walked over on the opposite side of Starbucks and insisted on trying to discuss my private matter in front of others, and then asked me to walk all the way around pass checkout to the customer service desk to have my conversation already knowing there is no privacy in that area. She turned me off with her lack of customer service skills, so I politely declined and proceeded to discuss my matter with Exavier who was working at the stores Starbucks.I explained to him that what I needed to purchase needed to be microwaved. I asked if his area had one, he stated no. Then I noticed the air fryer. So, instead of asking to use the microwave in the break area again, I asked Exavier could he place my vegan food item into the air fryer after I purchased it. He was more than happy to help me. And the food turned out great. Thank you, Exavier for going above & beyond.All in all, we never know someones situation. Being KIND is FREE! This Safeway has the best deli ever. Major shout-out to Teresa. She thoughtfully prepares breakfast sandwiches for my partner and crime and myself, from cutting up the onions, toasting them, ensuring the cheese does not burn by adding it on top halfway through the toasting process. Good selection of groceries at decent prices and plenty of ways to get deals. Navigating the parking lot can be tricky, however, especially during busy weekend afternoons and evenings when there is a very long line of cars waiting for the In N Out in the same center. Your best bet is to visit before 3pm on weekends snd before 6pm most weekdays...and I especially recommend staying away at all times during the busy holiday grocery season the week before Thanksgiving and the week before Christmas. Entrance and exit to the parking lots are quite narrow and lanes can be blocked around the store entrance, making it almost impossible to leave the parking aisles.

They couldve easily turned me away as it was 1 minute till closing when I arrived for an order received through Instacart. They were also dealing with some unkind people at this time as well. One of the staffs is incredibly rude. When I have a newly clipped unused coupon in my app and couldn’t redeem it at the checkout because of their system error, I asked for help from the staff. I pre order a Food platter called the Big dipper for my husband surprise party and a cake. Order was to be ready for pick up at 5:00pm I got there at 6:00pm. My cake was ready but my food platter was nowhere to be found the gentleman in the deli department said they probably forgot to make it I was super upset. I wait 40 minutes while he tried to find it he even call his manager for that department but no answer. Parking is tight. A lot of cars moving around. In n out drive through is long and blocks a lot of parking spaces for Starbucks, Togos and Chipotle.Inside has a gate system to help slow down shoplifting. A little inconvenient if you have to use the restroom while grocery shopping because youll have to go back to the entrance on the right side to get back in

This store is a gem, and though all Safeway stores are pricey the fruits & fresh vegetables are usually prime. The store isles are always clean and free of any debris, there are shopping carts, yours for the using upon entering the store. A mini Starbucks is located in midstore. Same delicious coffee, priced like all stores.Checking is always easy, bring bags or buy. Self check-out also easy. There is a Safeway attendant for check-out problems. Restrooms are easy access for all.Parking is the usual, filled when busy and near empty early mornings. I shop Tuesday morning, Im in and out in twenty minutes.Be careful walking thru the parking lot, the speedbumps are not very visable, theyre located all through the parking lot. So caution is advised, a trip & fall is too easy.

Spacious and clean throughout the store, but some big issues.1. Deli counter had a trail of ants attacking pies, all over the payment counter, and on all the chips. We noted this to the girl working the counter, she seemed nonplussed, told us they had sprayed this morning.2. Bathroom horror show. Light flickering, one light out, waste bin overflowing onto the floor. A store that sells and handles food should never have this level of filth anywhere.3. Every 3rd cart or so going out the door would trigger the alarm and lock the wheels. The alarm went off at least 5 times while I was in the store.

The last three times I came here around 12am, there were about 12-15 people in line, and the little asian P.I.C. girl saw the line and didnt call for back up. I had to tell the cashier twice that she needed to call for back up from the night crew, or customer service or the P.I.C. herself, and the cashier told me its always like this at this time of night. You dont have to close the loop with me, just tell your closing cashier and P.I.C. to pay attention to the lines. Other than that, the store is pretty well maintained.

Thankfully the layout keeps you “away” from the crowds and flows nicely.But I come for the meat department- they go above and beyond to make you happy. Decent produce section and deli! They finally carry Boars Head meats and cheeses!! But the bakery is ok... Their donuts used to be pretty decent... now the chocolate cover (anything) looks watered down... I did try one to see how it tasted... was NOT good! They need to go back to normal chocolate glaze. Thank you to the young gentleman at the deli counter That assisted me immediately today about 3 o’clock and made the best turkey sandwich at one counter and rush back to his counter to get fries and ring up my purchase. Hands-down best customer service. You make up for the five deli people that a few weeks ago, were joking around with each other while I stood there 3 feet away for 15 minutes asking & waiting for service that I never received. I wish you can train those people.

The store was good as usual except for the police that blocked the entrance because of street racers reving there engines to loud in the parking lot. I just came for the cars anyways, but picked up some bell peppers and bananas. Once the cops left it was all good. Saturdays are lit!

Lines are long. Even though there is a huge sign at the entrance of the store that states, “fast and friendly service”. They would get another cashier if there were more than 3 in a line. My line had 12 people. Otherwise the store seems fairly clean and smells like pumpkin spice latte when you walk in.

We were standing on the self check out didnt realize the floor had red marks as where to stand in line and he come up and says, STAND ON THE RED BOX OVER THERE. The lines are horrible even now with selfcheck out. Some of the employees are horrible at customer service. Seems like they didnt get trained to serve the customer. While other employees are great and go the extra mile to help the customer. Big store with great selection on groceries. Parking is horrible at peak hours. I only go to this Safeway, if you search, you can find some really great deals here, like 90 percent off good deals, not just old holiday items. I got some patio chairs for 5 dollars each and they were originally 40. They have self serve mochi and it is delicious. The staff is always friendly except the one time my mom got snubbed by someone in the deli section. My last receipt i spent 40 dollars and saved 80 and that is what i enjoy seeing on my receipt almost every time I checkout from this place

I just came home after I shopped at ur store at Tully rd, At first there was only this clerk with a tattoos on her body, she was so rude. There was 15 people in line and she was just chatting for a long time with this customer that she was helping telling her about her personal life. She did not care about the customers anxious to be help. I am not exaggerating but she she needs to be train more of her customer service skills. I will not go back again. Been going to this store for 2-3 years. Never been happy with the place. Theres usually long lines here because they never get enough checkers. They finally opened up a self checkout but thats closed at night so it takes even longer to check out because the only have two people, sometimes 3. Do your self a favor and go to Sprouts down the road. Nicer store with better produce.

I went in the store to get 2 items on a Thursday evening and it took about 20 minutes to check out cause of the lines. I was even in the express lane. Parking lot is one of the worst designed for getting traffic in and out. This Safeway closes its 2nd entrance pretty early and funnels everyone to the far side (away from other stores/venues in the parking lot). When this happens, there are sometimes people outside requesting donations for things ranging from funerals to after school programs. I use to love going here I would always have great customer service, they were always friendly and helpful. In the month of March I Placed 2 cake orders at the bakery and the day of the party the cakes where nothing like I had ordered and the cakes were half assed made, I had also requested for them to be done by 3pm and when arrived they were not even done, had to wait for 1hour in a half. So I do not recommended going here, there is never even parking because of other business and the lines here are like Walmart, 8 cash registers and only 2-3 open during business.

I dont like that they make me stay on a long line to buy over the counter drugs. Then I have to go on another line to pay for groceries when I finished shopping. So I now buy the medicine from Amazon.

I have been using this safeway for years, even though the foot traffic has increased the checkout service hasn’t caught up. wait times are 5-10 mins on peak hrs. No self checkout.

It took thirty minutes to get one deli sandwich and checkout. And the sandwich was made wrong even when the deli clerk was politely asked over and over to make ot a certain way.

Safeway made a big mistake, this location was Lucky Store with busy parking lot for other restaurants that Lucky Store quits its business and now Safeway comes to take over it and you shoppers can see not much Safeway shoppers in/out. I would love to see the Safewway at Aborn there as best location near BoA, OilChange, Target, Gas station, OfficeDepot, Orchard Supply Hardware, plus all easy traffics.

This is a very small safeway where the staff is very nice but there are no self check and expect to wait in line for almost half an hour in the express lane. Also the parking is very limited.

Lazy people work here... Homeless people doing great crazy things in the bathroom. Parking is horrendous. The Starbucks in the store closes at varying times... No set schedule.
