My spouse and I alternate pick up for orders we place while at work. Almost 90% of the time pick up times are fast with great alternative subs. Very little do I find bad quality or undesirable subs. I love couponing here and I love the quality of fresh foods and attentive staff.

I went to the Safeway store on N Main in Salinas, Ca searching for Le Brea cranberry walnut bread. I had checked a few other Safeways but to no avail.Emily, an employee was restocking the Safeway signature brand bread and hadn’t heard of the product. Even though she was ensconced in her bread project, she retreated to the back to get info as to whether the store stocked it.After my waiting for ten minutes or so she emerged with 2 frozen loaves which she hadrummaged for in the cold freezer.It is rare these days to find someone as helpful as Emily. She went far beyond what most employees would have done. Her customer service was A plus. Thank you Emily.I don’t often shop at Safeway, but if needing bread, I will definitely have Emily search for this elusive item.PS:I learned from a different employee that this bread was not stocked because they didn’t have a tag on the shelf for it. Strange reason. Print a tag.

My mom and I buy meat from here all the time. Every time we buy meat, we ask for the service of having it sliced. Which is a service that they “proudly” provide. But every time we ask, the response is always “our machine is broken “. Seems a little strange that it’s “always broken”. One time when they said it was broken, the gentleman acted like he was doing a favor by slicing it by hand but when he took it to the back, we could see him using the machine to slice it. If it’s a service they provide, whether the employees who work there want to do it or not, they should provide it. If not, don’t offer that service to any one across the board!

I won’t eat that sandwich that I bought from the deli of Forest Ave., Pacific Grove because I saw the guy who made it picked up something from the floor and dumped in the trash can then went back preparing my sandwich without changing his gloves. I should have said something but I didn’t it’s my fault. I’ll donate it to animals. Next time I’ll make my own…

We love the sushi bar inside Safeway at N. MAIN st in Salinas Ca. The sushi chefs are so amazing. Theyll prepare you your favorite sushi if its not already made. My daughter does not like to go anywhere else, and frankly neither do I. Try it, youll be just as satisfied as us😊The whole Safeway team is simply amazing!

Great ! Walked in at 5:30 am this morning for birthday stuff of course I was in and out. Staff working hard getting produce out for the day. Everyone was friendly despite of the early morning. Lady at register was very sweet. Liked that produce lady helped me in the balloon section until someone else helped me. I like when staff members or employees are cross trained none of this its not my job or I dont know how to do this trying helps.

I just had the best experience at this Safeway. I had a return but didnt realize Customer Service opened at 8am. It was 7:45am. The manager still helped me and completed the return! I was surprisingly pleased because there are so many companies where employees will not work a second before their shift. Then I saw there was an ad for corn--15 cents each--so I bought six. At the cash register, I wasnt paying attention and just as I was inserting my credit card, the cashier Joanna said that I had to download the coupon to get the discount. I looked up and saw the corn cost almost $5 instead of 90 cents! Joanna said not to worry and shed take care of it and fixed the price. WOW! Kudos to this Safeway!! Such great customer service in the morning made my day! :)

I just came from the Starbucks inside Safeway on north main street in Salinas just a little bit ago and ordered 4 tall pink drink, I felt bad for the girl that was working there all by herself, with no help, but Im very proud of her because she held it down..... Great job and such a sweet person...... And she made our order great... Ill be definitely 😁 coming back. Because she gave everyone great customer service. Such a terrible experience at this location. I have never been disrespected at any establishment the way I was here . I was trying to walk out the store when an employee named Jessica approached me and told that the door I tried to exit was closed . I simply told her ok and was walking toward the other exit when she asked me why you look all lost and confused for ? In a very rude tone . Little did she know the night before I had got into a very bad car accident that totaled my car and left me with a concussion . So i responded well i got a concussion last night maybe thats why ? She seriously responded by saying well you should be in a hospital then and walked away . Very unprofessional to treat a customer that way all because my symptoms are still hitting me and I was spacing out I guess . I walked her way and asked if she can lead me to her manager because I didnt appreciate the way she was Disrespecting me for no reason and she began screaming at me telling me Im wasting my time and they aint going to do nothing . I couldnt believe it. A few customers witnessed to confrontation and they themselves found a manager a told them exactly what happened and it matches up to what I just wrote . I feel so unwelcomed at Safeway now its totally unfair that as a 15 year customer that has spent a lot of money gets treated in such a inhumane way . Disappointed is a understatement. Jessica does not have the right to tell me such a rude comment all because Im dealing with injury and I cant control the symptoms Im having .

No carts ever available. Have to walk around the parking lot to find. Nobody EVER present at the seafood area, even when you push the button for assistance no one comes. All the fish and meat do not look fresh, majority not good colors anymore.

I like coming to this Safeway & getting chicken tenders and potato wedges but there’s this older lady that works there and she doesn’t make me feel welcome. She always has the serious face on her and when she hands me my food she just looks at me with a serious face and hands it too me. I don’t like that at all makes me feel like she’s judging me and I don’t remember her name but next time I go I’ll have her name down here.

Too many young workers worried about their phones and dont seem to care about greeting customers at checkout. Some of them will actually carry on conversations with the bagger and wont address the customer up, and until, they have rung up all your items. Customer service is slowly dying.

This store is about a half hour drive from my home. I would love to do all of my grocery shopping here but considering the distance, current price of gas, and the fact that my only vehicle is old and has left me stranded a number of times this past year, I simply cannot shop here as often as I would like to. I have always been treated with respect and a smile . The security guard with the great personality ( tall black man who recently celebrated his 60th bday, forgive me for being bad with names) My last visit was on Fri July 08, 2022 sometime after 10:15pm. I walked in, the. Security guard smiled at me and said good to see you again. I took a. Few steps, the cashier said hello and smiled at me. I did my shopping and got in line. As the friendly cashier was ringing up my items, I realized I only had 1 debit card with me, I forgot the other. I knew my prepaid debit card only had about $100 remaining. I removed some items before the cashier rang them up, totaling about $40. I put the items in the cart and apologized for not buying them. She was so kind and understanding. I felt terribly embarrassed having to do that with atleast 5 or 6 people in line behind me. The gentlemen who was behind me reached for the cart I had just pushed aside will you please allow me to pay for these items for you?. This had never happened to me before. I was tongue tied. The shoppers waiting in line had huge smiles across their faces. I dont know what to say, this has never happened to me before. A couple of young looking women said say yes. He smiled at me and said how about yes please. Yes, please. As he paid the cashier, I thanked him . You are very welcome. Maybe you can do the same for someone else one day,have a great evening and went on his way as I waited for the cashier to bag my groceries. According to the cashier, he shops there frequently and has done this numerous times for other shoppers. Such a generous thing to do for a complete stranger- I dont know your name, but I hope you read this - thank you so much for your kindness. That day wasnt one of my best. You did more then pay for groceries. There are good people out there, even in Salinas, Ca. I will be paying it forward. Thank you.

Bakery is very helpful do wish they had more in the book. But love the pastries they have on display to be bought. Love the smell of fresh cooked bread here. Parking is not too bad as the neighboring businesses are pretty well equipped with their own parking spaces. Location is really convenient for residents from West Laurel all the way the other direction to Russell Rd. The store itself is welcoming with the smell from their Starbucks. The deli always has fresh foods and theres a fresh sushi area too. Isles are refreshingly always stocked clean and clear. And upon exiting the Wells Fargo customers are quickly taken care of. Checkers are very friendly and helpful....although they need to open more isles...long wait every time!! But nice clean store.

My experience here has not been good. There are long waits in the check out lines. The cashiers are not very personable. The seafood deli people arent in their work area. You have to page them. At least the products on the shelves look good and well stocked and the produce looks good. The prices look fair.

I asked her if she was open and she just pointed to her lane number. I orignally questioned because she was half out of her area and talking to a few other people.Anyway, for reasons like this I usually use self checkout.

The store is usually well stocked and clean. The only issue I had was Rose in self check out; She was very rude to an older Asian woman who seemed to be struggling with the self check out machine. Rose said to her in a very rude voice that “This is self check out and you need to learn how to use it.” The older woman seemed like she spoke little English and, as a Mexican American woman, I feel she could be more compassionate as an employee. Every one should be treated with respect and as a person running the self check out, it is your job to help when it is needed.

Bought a small cake with cupcakes on top .. the cupcakes where hard and dry you could tell they where old then the bottom cake taste like old freezer .. Always a great place for good quality food. Great customer service, plus there bakery is superior to any other chain store. Safeway is also union and takes care of there employees. Everyone there gets some sort of 401k plan plus medical benifits which to me is the blood of a community. They also give back to charities as well as help the homeless locally. To me being the consumer, im glad my money is going to great things instead of just one persons pocket.

The amount of checkers, 2, is ridiculously low, ALWAYS. Lines,with 4 or 5 deep is not conducive to a pleasant shopping experience, especially when seldom is express lane even open. I now shop elsewhere, except if I need two or 3 small items, and self check out also has waiting lines often. Needs improvement, as many in line talk about.

Not my normal safeway...it may be the same size, but it seems cramped and disorganized. Aisle ways seemed narrow and support columns were sometimes in the way. Okay deli section and fresh fish (although you could smell it from aisles over). The parking lot is a mess and its very busy with traffic going by. Would rather go to a different store.

At 9 oclock at night you would not think it would be that crowed. With the health crisis going on and people starting to panic because they are figuring out they should wash their nasty hands, you would think they would have at least 3 checkers and self service line open. Not waiting for one. Finally the checker Jose comes and while the customer was checking out he is on his phone. I had gone to the other Safeway on N. Main and their express line was open. I understand that with this homeless shelter being built near the Veterans Memorial and all the theft that takes place at this store, its a matter of time before it will effect this area.

This Safeway needs a major update. It seems like many of the refrigerators arent keeping the food at temp. Today the meat section was completely dismantled with water all over the floor. Produce is not that fresh. Its too bad because the prices are still high. Ive also seen expired items and been overcharged for sale and non sale items. Needs a deep deep clean or complete remodel.

Salinas Safeway is no different.Prices are higher than Luckys and on par with Nob Hill.Safeways policy is to punish customers with having to pay a higher price on many items if they done have a Safeway card. The cashiers likes to point out how much money weve saved by using the card. I contend weve not saved a darn thing. We just didnt pay extra for already overpriced stuff.

Experience a dam robbery around 6 oclock in the afternoon. The guy simply ran out with a bottle of liquor. This occurs at a frequent rate at this location. Its so bad, that the 24 hours are closed, due to the amount of robberies this store experiences. This is a fine Safeway. Quite large with all the usual Safeway departments including a pharmacy. It was a very small pharmacy, but enough pharmacy for my needs. The pharmacy was my focus as I was getting my COVID shot.

Whether youre in KingCity, Salinas, or Seaside: theres a Safeway not far from where you are (2, in Salinas!). If you use the App & SavingsCard, you can find some excellent prices (& you dont have to CARRY the card; theres a keychain attachment, or also you are able to Enter your phone number at CheckOut). Also, anything you find in the Clearance area is half price (& sometimes: theres even Clearance in the frozen section!). The stores are well-laid out, & when you use the App: it even tells you the Aisle#. The Produce & Bakery Departments are home to fresh & delicious products (many fruits/vegetables are locally-sourced).

Or all the variety restaurants in shopping center WOO from Mexican food to Italian or red lobster and more PIZZA TOO.. lots of different types of stores from furniture to clothing and pet store yEEhAw it makes it fast for those who wanna just shop fast due to being tired after woRK got-ît..
