I would give zero stars but that isn’t an option. i was at self checkout trying to buy sardines and pink sugar cookies. i used apply pay and machine wasn’t working. my card has plenty of money hence it was the machines fault. all of a sudden it called a employee over who was unfortunately very rude. other customers were having the same issue as me and she decided to tell them to “move out of the way”. she was a very rude worker and needs to fix her attitude. i hope she learns her lesson.

SAFEWAY Does not deliver!My scheduled delivery never arrived and I was told by customer service that it would take 3-5 business days to process a refund to my Snap EBT card.Safeway needs to provide a faster refund service in such situations.

Beware of purchasing gift cards here: I purchased a Vanilla Visa Gift Card in Oct 23 from Safeway Los Gatos for $300 with a processing fee added for $5.95. When I tried using it last week, the balance was Zero. Safeway (a person named Marina from Customer Service) refused to refund the amount instead pointing us to Visa. Visas automated phone response redirected us to the website which has disabled raising disputes > 60 days. The irony is I know that Safeway is aware of this issue with Vanilla gift cards for a long time and this store continues selling them without any regard to the customers and with no warning in place. Please take care not to buy gift cards from this store. You are on your own. I will be filing a police report as well as pursuing other options but I lay the blame squarely on Safeway for not acting on what seems to be a very widespread visa scam problem which they have been aware of for quite a long time. Makes me wonder why?

I love this Safeway store and appreciate the people who work there. My frustration lies in the fact that 8 times out of 10, I am charged wrong on my groceries. It is always corrected at the time, but this is not acceptable to the consumer. I have reached out to corporate about this and have had zero response. Again unacceptable. Im posting this to warn others to be sure to watch your checkout and to double check your receipts.Update 2/8/22 - went to this Safeway and it happened again!! CONTINUE TO WATCH YOUR RECEIPTS, they consistently OVERCHARGE.Update 10/25/23- Shopped there again today and was overcharged by more than $60.00. They show meats on sale and if you dont watch, they do not give you the second discounted price. NY steaks on sale for 8.99 pound, just for you coupon brings down to $5.97 pound. Receipt shows discount, but only first sale price making you assume you recd discount, not the additional coupon price. Happened a few months ago, same scenario. Safeway says contact us thru site, I have only to get no response. You need to contact me as you have all of my contact info.CONTINUE TO WATCH YOUR RECEIPTS!!!

Safeway at this location was great! TheirCustomer service are excellent and the store manager is very helpful when I was there to return the salmon that my sister got me and I end up returning it at this location and they still accomodate my returns instead of having me driving back and ford. I ended up purchased bigger pack of salmon from this store.

The store looks nice as any usual Safeway. Bought lamb shank there twice this month and found one of them smelled bad. I brought it back for return. Process was smooth and easy. In the second time, same problem. I suspected its something wrong with the whole batch. I wanted to return two more unopened ones. The guy refused because I didnt bring the receipt. And claimed its too much meat to return. In fact, it worth less than $30. What kind of service? In fact, with membership, they have everything in their system. Just let you know you may encounter someone nasty there.

I love Safeway since they are the only grocery store in the area that provides a service to order online and pickup our groceries. We have family members who are immune compromised so we rather not go grocery shopping and risk contracting Covid-19. Neighborhood Safeway in a quiet shopping center. I didnt see any inside seating and the outside seating is unpleasant, but if you buy a deli item and eat it at Starbucks closeby - and if course buy a coffee or tea there too - its pretty nice here. And if you need to print it nail something, Aim is here too.

The Union Avenue Safeway is my go to market because its well stocked, clean and the Safeway associates believe in great customer service.Today as I approached the register, I asked a Safeway associate nearby, What aisle are the Jams and Jellies in? The associate said, Im sorry, Im on my break., and walked away.Is the Safeway break/lunch policy so tight that a normally great associate couldnt simply say, Aisle 5 off the clock?I gave you 5 Stars because Andrew at the register and with Austin bagging, provided me with enough extra customer service that I could overlook the earlier burn.Still love you Union Avenue Safeway.

Claims to be open 24 hours, “confirmed to be open 24 hours 7 days ago,” doors locked. I tried knocking on the door but the employees didn’t even look at me at the door. Not sure if lazy employees, if for some reason cinco de mayo warrants early closure, or if the person who confirmed it is incompetent, but this really inconvenienced me. I called too, and there wasn’t even a ring tone for the dial-in to the customer service staff. Really surprising.

I have never had a negative experience at this Safeway. It is my local grocery store, and I have known many folks who have worked at this location throughout the years (though I dont think I know any of the staff currently). Maybe because of that fact, my experiences have been so fantastic, but I really think the folks who work at this Safeway are just pleasant people generally. If Im honest, theres nothing extraordinary about this Safeway other than knowing you will get stellar service/assistance should you need it. Though that is indeed quite often the reason why many of us tend to choose to be patrons of specific stores.

There many Safeways locations. This one is the worse. Half of your people doesnt want to work. I can empathy that we all have those days that we are tired of work. This happened every time while I was there. Cashier is having racial issues here. They always greeted in a coered manners. It is so unprofessional!! People came in to buy things should be treated in a professional manner. The pharmacy operations got the worse people working for them too. Perhaps, the manager l should be discussing with your people about the imparative of customer service and how its impact your business.

The store is very clean and well lit. There is a bakery, a deli, and a pharmacy counter at this location. They have a great selection of lunch options, they even have ready made meals such as the snack packs made fresh by the deli (Similar to ones you get at coffee places but priced much more reasonably at Safeway) Actually, most all of their goods have prices that are very reasonable considering the high quality of meat & produce thats available.The employees are friendly and helpful. They always have freshly cleaned/sanitized carts available and the store is easily accessible with wide aisles to accommodate both the handicapped and those observing social distancing guidelines.Thry have self-checkouts and cashier assisted checkouts, and whenever theres more than a couple people in line they will open another register so you dont end up waiting a long time to pay, which is nice.I did notice that they recently reset the layout making it very similar to most of the Safeways Ive shopped at in northern California. Being from Sacramento myself, I appreciate the familiarity as it makes it easier and quicker to find what you are looking for. Ive always had positive experiences here and I would certainly recommend this store to others.

Update 10/17/22: This store continues to decline. They never have stock of sale items, half the time they give guff about rain checks. Back in July they had 18 pack Coke max limit of 5 on sale for $5, had to get a rain check for it and to this day I still have 2 left to claim because they literally dont restock it. Last week had a sale for Refreshe Water 24 pack for $1.99 limit of 3 and they had absolutely zero water bottles except the expensive ones like Fuji. Every other Safeway in around them doesnt have these problems so whoevers managing the place needs to be retrained or removed.Punk Kid Kyle doesnt seem to be there anymore.Actually just had a problem with some new punk kid bagger there named Kyle. Dude literally dropped my 12 pack of coke after scanning it and when I told him dont do that again he said do it your self next time. Excuse me? Thats your job, you literally dropped my coke right in front of me and gave me attitude for saying something about not wanting flat soda that Im about to purchase. This kid needs an attitude adjustment if hes going to keep working in customer service.

Always only has 1 register open with a long line every time I go there. The pharmacy constantly never remembers to re-order my medication. Each time I say yes auto-refill and then they never do.I only shop here as a last resort. Other places like Lunardis have a fast checkout line, often with zero wait at off-peak times. Cant blame covid19 when other places of more modest means handle customers just fine.

This is the worst Safeway Ive ever shopped at, and unfortunately its been our neighborhood store for three years. Even before the pandemic, lines were absurdly long, especially in the early evening. Customer service is apathetic. And ordering online for curbside pickup today yielded me an order with only half the ingredients I needed, requiring me to go into the store anyway. When I called to discuss substitutions so that I could avoid that since I am quarantined, they told me to reorder the substitute items for pickup. Of course that would require me to wait another five hours until a new pickup window was available, even though I already waited two days for this one! How is there no way manager cannot step in to help? Management clearly does not care about customer satisfaction.

Well I found out that you do not need to pay attention to whether there is a light on to get in a line. A manger went to a line as well as a couple of other people. I was told the manager sometimes doesnt turn on their lights as they may need to walk away and help a customer or cashier. Makes sense. I said it wasnt right as other people a heD of me and as well as my self would have gotten into the shorter line. The manager getting off work told the manager cashing people out. He said he didnt care what I thought or how I felteither. Back customer service. I will also contact corporate.

Masks are mandatory in Santa Clara county and when I asked my cashier if they are allowing people to shop in store unmasked she told me that the manager told all the employees they are not allowed to ask people to put their masks on.
