I observed a male employee severely sick today who was coughing profously and wiping his runny nose and continuing to stock produce (leafy greens). This is a severe lack of health and safety. I hope management can provide better sanitation training and give sick employees a day off.

Conveniently located Safeway store near downtown Mountain View. Services include US Bank, Starbucks, Deli, Meat and Seafood, beer, wine, and liquor, Groceries, and ATM. Store offers everything. Store was well stocked, parking is abundant, the staff is nice. Removing two stars for longer than normal lines (picture included).Edit: also great communication from the social media team. What a beautiful inviting store. If you come in for one item, youll come out with more. Spacious, clean, shiny with various areas that invite and capture your attention. Starbucks coffee, wine section that is cleverly enticing, more areas to explore than you have time for.

Not sure why Safeway is still one of the most popular grocery stores. The stores often look run down and outdated. The customer service is poor. It happened to me multiple times that I had to wait forever just to get somebody to unlock the wine fridge for me.

Consistently 30-50% more expensive for every item compared to other stores, sometimes twice the price for produce. $4/lb for (conventional, not organic) tomatoes? Save your money go to TJ. Also beware their pharmacy closes for an hour in the middle of the day.

I just showed up at this Safeway at 2am and was turned away by a worker that the store is closed. The store literally has the hours on the door saying they are open 24hrs. I drove out of my way to shop here because I thought the store was open. Safeway you need to update your online postings so you don’t waste people’s time(and gas).

Good sized Safeway at this location. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly and they are quite quick to respond to growing lineups with adding more cashiers to the checkout lines. Parking is ample and it is pretty easy to get in and out of this San Antonio Plaza mall.

Visited because I want to get their Friday deal. Theres plenty of fried chicken by comparing other stores I visited; however, I feel so surprised that staff cant tell the difference between white mean and dark meat after fried. I guess not too many people get this Friday deal of fried chicken at this store.The store is clean and neat, but its short of the variety on some stuff. It made me surprised, too.

Had flown in earlier in the day and couldnt get the room till 4pm, so crashed as soon as I got the room. Safeway was walking distance and I walked by around 1:30am hoping to catch something to eat since it states being open 24 hrs . Could see people inside but doors wouldnt open tried both even the one near the pharmacy, one guy who got out also said its closed. Disappointed when u say u r open 24 hrs

I love Safeway. Even though it might seem pricey at first, it has so much to offer:- open 24/7 (!!!),- great merchandising, its easy to find things without asking for help + stuff on shelves is looking neat and nice, no mess, no empty shelves,- its clean and smells nice inside,- I love their bakery, some cakes can easily compete with the ones from fancy bakeries around for the fraction of the price,- great selection of products, Ive tried about 30 different cheeses so far, and its not even half of what they have,- rewards system works great too, I often get free stuff to try and discounts on the products I frequently purchase,- wide selection of flowers and balloons for any occasion, very helpful when you need to greet someone last minute,- its great that they have Starbucks inside, I like to order coffee, shop, and then pick it up on my way out.

Store fine, ridiculous bakery department. Ordered my daughters birthday cake with her requests specific flavors and character design. Picked up cake and wrong frosting, cake flavor, and characters. I asked if they were sure this was my cake because it was wrong and she said yes it was the only cake they had for pick up that day. I refused to pay for it and went to get just a generic cake from Whole Foods across the street but so disappointing. I didn’t think it was that difficult to either tell me no to requests or just complete the job? Really upset about this would not order from this bakery

I had a problem with the price of an item and Kia, who was working in the self-checkout section, helped to confirm the price, made the corrections, and provided me with a discount coupon. She was quick, friendly, and efficient and went the extra mile to sort out a confusing issue. Ive never had better service in a grocery store.

Store claims to be open 24hrs however in the past 5 or 6 times Ive tried going after work (between 1am and 3am) not a single time has it been opened. Every time there is a paper taped to the door explaining they are closed from 10:45pm to 6am due to staffing shortages. The same paper seems to have been up for a long time. Change your store hours or stay open when you claim you will be. Stop waisting peoples time.

Good place to grab fresh produce, meat, and other grocery items. Plenty of indoor parking so you will never get wet even on a rainy day! If you dont feel like cooking, theres a deli service right on site, serving hot food and beverages! Theres even a in-store bakery and a Starbucks coffee bar!

I would give a higher rating if the store was actually 24 hours like it says. Sometimes it is open when it says it is but you literally have to walk up and hope it is open. Theres been times where they have closed at 10,12, ect. Its so random. It says it is due to staffing shortages which I understand is an issue especially due to people not being paid enough for this type of job, but it has been going on for at least a year. It would be nice if the times could be either posted online somewhere or just have consistent hours.

Google asked me to review this again because it has been a while since my last review and I still give it 3 stars. Their prices are astronomical and their cuts of meat are criminally thick. Who eats a 3 steak? Especially when meat is >16$/lb. Remember when you could feed your family a REALLY nice meal for less than $40? This Safeway does have really nice flowers though. They have lots of specials too, so overall it is generally a decent but average experience.

Sad to say but I order a cake over phone a week in advance to pickup January 2nd at 11am came at 12:30pm was told the bakery didn’t make it, don’t know why they didn’t call me to inform me. Ruin my mom’s birthday.Back in July I also ordered a cake, no one was available waited 20-30mins for help after ringing the sensor. I will no longer giving my business here.Whole Foods came through.

This Safeway is pretty good. Its one of the bigger ones Ive been to and had a great wide selection of products at reasonable prices. When I went to this location, it was evening and there were a decent number of customers, but they only had two checkout lines open plus the self-serve ones. It would have been 5 stars if they kept even just 1 more line open to keep customer traffic flowing faster. Most of us just want to buy or groceries and go home, is that too much to ask for? All in all, good location, customer service with checkout lines could be better.

This is a (mostly) full service Safeway which opened approximately seven years ago to replace an older location across the street.Has a bakery, deli, pharmacy, US Bank, Starbucks, floral/gift shop, and an array of smaller services in-store. Has many check-out lanes, but usually not so many employees to run them.There are now 8 self service check-out lanes that are popular to get out a little faster. This process can be ok but still requires frequent intervention by a staffer, for example when a sales price is not recognized, or Rewards do not show up on your transaction.Stock is usually pretty good for common items, but sale items do tend to run out, cuts of beef on sale that week can be hard to find if a butcher isnt available, and some app promoted items can be even more difficult if your visit isnt timed right.The Managers Specials in the meat department are at times scraping the bottom of the barrel, and are rarely worth a look as of late.Parked out front has the issue the the lines are a little tight, making that lot a little less safe to navigate than some. Better to park in the lot on the roof, there is an elevator on each end of the lot, the spaces are larger and less populated.

The one star is for the misinformation. I would not care of this safeway was the cleanest, the most organized just the best all around safeway Id still give it one star because I know from experience that until they update thier hours as well as the stores responses to reviews stating that it was a mistake and they talked to the safeway management and this store is open 24 hours a day people are going to drive ride a bicycle walk whatever but they well travel long distances to get to this safeway under the impression that it is a 24 hr grocery store and they will have to go somewhere else for whatever emergency has got them up at these godforsaken hours because this safeway of closed and what are the hours you might ask will its up to the graveyard management because their mood I guess is the deciding factor in what time they will close and open Ive seen other reviews they were told 6 this morning am employ reluctantly came to door and told me 5a.m. and was not happy for me asking his attention to the door. This lack of communication between the owners, corporate, and this stores management has had and will continue to have a major negative impact on peoples lives until they figure it out its already stressful enough going out at this hour to have to travel who knows how far to then next open store is unnecessary.

WHO NEEDS THE REPETITIVE AGGRAVATION OF A RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE?There is an Asian guy who works behind the counter who has repeatedly been rude and unaccomodating to customers, and he likes to argue and talk down to people.I have tolerated his treatment of me up until now.I suspect he doesnt like hispanic people.I saw him shut down to take a break when a hispanic elderly lady was trying to return a few purchases.He did that to me too just a few months back.Another time recently he said he couldnt refund my money on returned items because he needed to reserve the cash for paychecks.This is clearly racial discrimination!The stores cash registers are full of cash. There is no logical reason why this jerk couldnt refund my money THAT DAY!His poor public relations skills and arrogant manners make coming here an aggravation that no one should have to endure.Furthermore, he is argumentative. I overheard an argument he was having with a disgruntled senior gentleman, as if his big ego meant more than being helpful to a customer.Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to shop. Safeway is gouging people with extremely unconscionably higher prices than anywhere else, in an already stressed economy, and they have discontinued stocking many popular brands.This Safeway in particular sucks😡👎

This Safeway is always clean and very well-stocked. It’s one of the larger Safeways, and therefore has a greater variety than many. The layout is a little bit different from that in most other stores, but it’s quite easy to navigate. The staff is courteous and professional.

Nice store, great layout, decent prices. Was a bit put off when walking up to get a cart. There were two employees standing there chatting and the woman curtly told my girlfriend and I that they were out of carts, and snidely said if we want a cart we can go find one and bring it back to her and she can sanitize it (we should go out in the parking lot and get them out of a cart corral or look for a stray). When there’s 2 workers standing there talking doing nothing and take a snarky tone telling a customers to go find a cart themselves, you can see why we would be a bit irritated. Not a good idea to be caustic to your customers.

The store is well laid out, but produce section is not that great. I saw mold growing in strawberry packets. Also, many things seemed to be out of stock.The cashiers here used to be nicer than another Safeway nearby, but recently I have had pretty rude cashiers here too.The presence of self checkout counter is a plus, but there can be long lines for these at busy times.

Definitely utilize the rooftop parking; Ground level parking gets very congested and the rooftop parking is never full.I always grab something sweet from the bakery when I go. The pumpkin vanilla bean cheesecake they have for fall is fantastic!Good selection of brands and produce. Be careful to read for the sales, though, as some of your sale items might not ring up correctly if you do not follow some of the sale guidelines (i.e. Must buy 4 to get “X” item for $2).

What the heck. This is the most organized Safeway Ive ever been to. Ive seen many a store where the produce looks disheveled and sad, or certain things are always out of stock...Whoever has been making this store look as beautiful as it does must take a lot of pride in it. Whoever you are, you should be proud, because youre doing an awesome job!I also loved that they have more exotic produce than other Safeways, including Thai chili peppers, scorpion and ghost peppers, lemongrass, Napa cabbage, cactus leaf, and more.

This is one of those fancy new Safeways and it shows. Not only does the store look great on the inside they also have a very good selection. While I have mixed feelings about their organic offerings I am very happy to report that they have an awesome bulk section that includes granola, tea, and dry goods. This particular Safeway is more than a little bit confusing. For some reason it always feels smaller than it actually is, and tends to get pretty busy/crowded. At least you dont have to wait inline to get in... That said, it had a very robust deli and a decent selection of chilled wine, you just have to go into the far back corner to find it.

The drive up & go service is a joke. I was told there are designated parking spots and I can call the number on the sign to get my order delivered. However, there is no designated spots at all! We spent 30 minutes driving around and saw the signs promoting this service everywhere but couldn’t find the designated spots. This is THE WORST Safeway I have ever been to, which is unfortunate because it is in a great location and the store itself is nice. I have given this location 5 separate chances to redeem itself, but every time I have visited it has proven to be EXTREMELY understaffed and the employees do it seem to care. There are 2 of the maybe 10 registers open at any given moment, with lines snaking back into the aisles. Do not visit this location unless you want to waste a minimum of 30 minutes standing in the checkout line.

Its a pretty convenient Safeway in San Antonio Village Center in Mountain View. Its one of the few 24-7 Safeway grocery stores in Palo Alto. Mountain View, and Los Altos area. Only stsurday nights they are closed after midnight or 1:00 am I belive. I wish the self check out would stay open throughout the night. After 11 only one register is open and that creates a longer than normal wait time for usually small number of items for late night shoppers.

I was trying to buy some bananas. The scale at the register was broken, but the cashier didnt let that get in her way. She went all the way around to the next available register. Which was the one over. Then she weighed the bananas. All three of them, at once, and came back. Pulled out her personal phone to use her calculator to get the pricing on the fruit. Happy Friday!

Bakery closes at 8:00PM on Saturday evenings (information confirmed by a supervisor).Started waiting in front of the bakery stand at 7:50PM, listened to several automated calls reverberating in the store around me and starting with “Attention Bakery personnel...” I will them give the benefit of the doubt, but I am pretty sure those were triggered by my presence.I called loudly “Hello?” several times (hate doing that as it is against my upbringing), stayed until 8:05PM, and left. Asking a supervisor at 8:08PM about the situation just yielded the following conversation: “oh yeah, the bakery employees just leave as soon as they finish baking the bread, now they are all on lunch break. No one is going to be able to help you.” I replied: “how do you call that?” He replied: “lunch.” Lunch at 8:00PM. Okay!I did not know that this Safeway’s bakery employees were so overworked that they had to wait until leaving early in order to have lunch at 8:00PM.I hope you feel the nonsense.

Because its so large, its not appropriate for quick grab-and-go grocery shopping unless you know exactly what youre getting. This is the worst Safeway of all the ones I have shopped.Many of the clerks exhibit antisocial behavior. As a matter of fact, they are just downright rude. Guy behind the deli counter wanted to make a lady wait who wanted a sandwich, while he wiped down a machine. This went on for five minutes until the lady gave up and left shaking her head. Nothing gets corrected.I shall never go to this store again, and I hope you dont either.The restroom is disgusting! You do not want to buy anything that they make there. Very clean where it matters, around all of the food. Lots of selection, and decent prices. The only complaint I have is that the bathroom was absolutely filthy.

While at Safeway, asked for quarters. Was told they couldn’t do that. The lady I asked there was extremely unhelpful and rude. Will gladly shop at one of the three other grocery stores around them instead.

Pharmacy was terrible. Didnt have Flonase, which is OTC. Told me to come in an hour (for a $25 medication) and I did waste my time and come back. They still hadnt received my prescription because it was a new system. Yeah right.
