I went to this Safeway to get 3 gifts cards- $50, $50 and $100. They turned up giving me 3 cards worth $50, $0 and $0. I reached out to this Safeway store and they asked me to call toll free number and create a ticket.This happened in Nov 23rd 2023 and now 3 months later nothing has happened on that ticket. I called up the number multiple times and no one picks to answer your question on the gift card line. What a scam!Such a shame that company like Safeway will handle these issues like this (when we know they screwed it up).Do not get gifts cards from this store- cashiers have no idea what they are doing. Even if you do please double check if the card value is correct.I am now going to open a fraud case with my Bank and ask for refund.Never going to this store again.Update 4/17/2024Its now 6 months and no one has got back to me. This proves this store is running a scam and will steal your money.

Quiet Evening to shop. ! Not a lot of shoppers moving around. GREAT Produce collection, dairy collection and grocery collection from multiple reputed brands, plus safeways own Sig. Select Brand Products. Main Chips aisle was empty, but we found stock in one of the bins around the store. The Member Discounts and Digital Coupon Savings ontop always results in atleast 25% Savings. ! Friendly and Fast Cahsiers help with speedy checkout. ! Overall Great Experience.

I hate this store. They ALWAYS have old expired price tags on shelfs or in the wrong places. What you pay at checkout is too often NOT what the price tags say. Seriously, happens almost 50% of my visits. Sadly, I live next door to this poorly run business.

Not a bad option for groceries. I go at least once a week and rarely have I seen it very busy. Not a big store so options are limited. Produce is generally in good condition. Self-checkout can be annoying sometimes with lack of functioning registers & employee support. Rarely do I see more than two normal checkout lines open. A lot of the freshly made sandwiches, cookies, etc., dont seem to sell well and will be sitting there until they reach their sell by date. Note: they close the doors on the right-side entrance every night at like 9 PM or something, so everyone has to use the left side to enter/exit. That is kind of annoying when you arent aware, but not a huge deal.

The manager of self checkout and the registers can’t handle her job. The gal with glasses and always has her hair in a bun and is short treats all her guests like they’re stupid if they need help because YOUR machines don’t work. Hire someone that can handle it and will put the guest first. Horrible experience each time I’ve had to interact with her. Coming from someone that worked at the busiest target in the company, it’s not that hard to not be rude.

0 star for customer service! Bought fried chicken dark meat 8 pieces (store deal buy 8 piece for $8.99+ tax). Deli worker miss printed the label and charged me $15+ as something else. I went back with the chicken for price adjustment. The customer service (she seems like a manager with a attitude) asked what I got in the bag and gave me wrong information that dark meat fried chicken are $8.99 a pound (if so why customer must buy 8 pieces?). Not willing to figure out the real price. With many people in line waiting to talk to customer service I had to leave. Later I went back again, took a photo of the price board and went to customer service the second time. I showed the price image to another customer service (the first one wasnt there), and she went talk to deli and then hand touched/exam the chicken to return the difference. No apologies!

My Neighborhood Safeway here in Dublin Tassajara location is the best .. I live in between both locations but I have to say the experience here is the greatest. Lexi the Store Manager is always kind to me and my Mother and always greets us whenever we come in .. she is always there to answer questions and keeps this store operating effectively. You can see her staff appreciates her too as it’s evident that she wears many hats. Keep up the Great work and Thank you for always being so kind to us!Monique

This is literally one of the worst safe ways I have ever been to no matter what I am here for that have to do with customer service. I waited at the alcohol cabinet for about 10 minutes after I push the button, and then I finally went to go get somebody and they never showed up. When I asked somebody else for help, he then proceeded to do something else and we had to wait again.

Went in on Tues. 5/2 to get pastries and fruit for staff at work, great fresh selection, no probs. Was going to get a drink at Starbucks- but saw two possibly Indian young ladies leaning against the coffee station closest to the registers, doing nothing, and one was picking her nose! I mean, all up in the nose swirling her finger around, no tissues, no glove on the digging hand, make no mistake that the finger was bare, and I didn’t see her wash her hands! Stay productive, stay clean, other folks’ health is at risk as well! Thank you!

Disgruntled and lazy cashiers. Deli employees, however, are exceptional, appear always eager to help. Management should really do something to improve customer service particularly with the cashiers at the registers. The one that works evening shift at the self check out is completely worthless.

I don’t know what’s going on with my Safeway these days. Today this totally unprofessional lady was yelling about how she is a Safeway manager somewhere and was going to get my store’s manager in trouble. Who does that? Especially since she’s the one causing a scene. I feel bad for the poor lady that was getting yelled at. It’s always the super sweet people like her that get picked on. Hey Safeway, time for some classes on how to conduct yourself at work. If my boss didn’t do something about this “manager” yelling at me while I’m working I would find another job. Hopefully the victim doesn’t do that though, she’s such a nice person.

Came in to pick up some fruit, ended up buying a lot of stuff! This place is quite organized and they have a great selection typically. The produce department is usually well-stocked though they were low on some of the specials. I would have appreciated getting a substitute item when I asked one of the employees who was stocking. They said that they were just out of stock and thats how it goes pretty much. That was disappointing. Otherwise our family does enjoy shopping at this location.

Highly disappointing with their bakery service. We ordered our son’s 13th birthday cake and went to pick it up right before the party and to our surprise there was no name written on the cake. We gave them in writing what to write on the cake in bold letters. Upon arrival we see that the lady who was there was so negligent and casual, she told us the decorator did not write the name. And we had asked them to do a balloon design and it was also messed up. Pathetic!!! How can you do this to your customers who order birthday cake. It’s once a life time celebration and they made it a huge disappointing one!!! I do not recommend anyone to this place for birthday cake. And they are not even sorry for that!!!

I am a regular Safeway customer since i moved out to California & this is the first time i visit this branch & my experience was horrible.I asked politely the butcher to cut the meat thin because i used to ask in other branches but he said that will make the price higher so i said thank you & left . After leaving i heard another customer talking with the butcher & both were mocking me saying that i want t buy the thinner cut for free . I was in hurry & my toddler with me so I didn’t have the time to complain but i am 100% sure that i will never ever visit this week branch again .

Today I visited Safeway store in Dublin California on 4440 Tassajara Rd.The time of the purchase was 2:04 P.M. 1/27/2023.I had a Basket Grocery Rewards credit of $5. Which means my purchase should have been no cost to me. But the cashier charged me $5. In a word: Competitive. Their pricing and inventory availability is very aggressive. Their 5:00 AM opening time is a HUGE plus when work, school, community and other societal demands take up so much of your available time. Great people work and serve at Safeway.

This store has rude employees and it seems to have a toxic work culture. INCIDENT 1: I clipped a valid coupon on my Safeway App, bought something, but still got charged full price for that item. I go to customer service, only to be told by a poker faced employee that it is closed (at 8 PM?) and diverted to a regular check-out lane. There, an another employee talks to me loudly in a confrontational, condescending tone with the presumption that I am wrong. “Check the size of the can” (it was correct) “This could be for online ordering only” (Safeway app coupons are applicable for in-store shopping too, she had no idea about her company’s app) and proceeded to try to prove me wrong from the weekly circular (because customer is always wrong). Well, I purchased the item by clipping a ForU App coupon, not from the weekly circular, so why should I look at the weekly circular? Isn’t that the whole point??? And normally it is never a problem. By this time, my wife and I are feeling properly humiliated in front of other customers. I got upset, and assertively returned the said items for a refund. I didn’t want any of it anymore. Working with the customer to help them out is for other stores, not this one. INCIDENT 2: One of the store employees in the produce section was talking loudly to his colleague and repeatedly saying “Cabron” (Spanish cuss word for a**h***). He must have said it out loud 5-7 times in a couple minutes. Just because it is another language, is it okay to cuss as if no one around you understands it? INCIDENT 3: Generally, no one in this store greets, smiles, or helps you with a smile. I’ve had employees answer questions with a frown, even. INCIDENT 4: I had a question about my Safeway Card, but was flat-out refused any assistance at the customer service. “We can’t scan or read them here, call the helpline”. I am done with this store, and these incidents have left a bad taste in my mouth about Safeway as a company too. The extra star is for all the times that my app has worked flawlessly. Safeway has done a great job with the App. And the stores are neat and clean too, no issues there.

Struggle with what rating to give these guys as I feel that every visit varies. Some of the staff here is amazing, often recognizing me and the kids and greeting us with a huge smile. The other half acts as if we’re bothering them and it shows as they’re rather good at ignoring you.This Safeway is usually well stocked and kept rather clean. As others have noted prices are a bit on the higher side but if you only purchase what’s on sale and/or utilize their Just4U program it tends to balance out.

It is the best neighborhood store for all our household needs. Very well maintained and excellent customer service. It taught us good shopping habits to buy on whats needed instead of buying in bulk and wasting most of it. Moreover it reduced buying unnecessary junk at warehouse chains. Dont forget to sign up for their Just 4 U program to get personalized deals and all we have to do is clip those deals on the phone app before shopping. Lastly, it is the only store I can trust for online grocery shopping during these covid times with safe pickup where the staff bring groceries to your car with safety precautions.

This is a good place to shop normal groceries. I would say tiny but expensive than other stores like Walmart or Costco, but the quality also seem a bit better. The lines for checkout are usually small and parking is not an issues. I do like the variety they have in baking section.

I LOVE this safeway, they open 5am - 2am daily, Sunday - Saturday. and as you getting older, you go to restroom more often. Their restroom is always open, theres NO lock to get inside. ( unlike some other retailers, their restroom is locked sometime, and sometime you have to ask the clerk for the lock code to get in ).

They recently just stopped allowing a $300 cash back limit through self checkout. Now they are only allowing $100 max. This was helpful since the banks are experiencing covid hours. Now we are screwed if we work during banking hours and have to withdraw a medium amount of cash.

Its amazing when people impositions to deal with the public dont even take the time to speak when I look right in your face. I have been going to this Safeway since it first open. Its a lot different today. Some new customer service lady with shoulder length curly hair look right at me as I was leaving the check stand today and said not a word. So why work in a public setting when you dont even have the discipline to say hello to your customers.

Poor customer service.I go to Safeway’s and other grocery stores literally dozens of times a week if not more. I believe that qualifies me to say this is a pretty bad store as Safeway’s go. Employees pretty rude and unhelpful. On top of everything I went to the restroom a employee came in use the restroom with his mask down, how small are public restrooms exactly. He then washed his hands for less than 10 seconds 😫

I am not fond of the staff that works here. I hate the Just for You program, it never works and the staff at this location isnt very helpful with regards to the program. Coupons are ambiguous and do not explain even what categories are there. Manager would not apply it because some items (non alcohol) were in certain excluded categories. There is no mention of what categories and seems up to each store to figure them out. This violates customer trust. Additionally I found out I did not get another promotion (2x1) for another item until I got home. Customers should be first and advertisement should not be deceiving.

I purchased a large cake one full week before an event, only to show up at my designated pick-up time to the cake still being made. I am not sure what factors contributed to it completely falling apart in the car on a 10 minute drive, but upon arrival to the party the top tier had slid off the bottom and the bottom cake was cracked in half. Had the cake been made beforehand, refrigerated and allowed to set, a short drive should not have been an issue. Another Safeway bakery re-made my cake at no cost even with their very full order load and agreed the cake should not have fallen apart.Other than the bakery, this store is always busy, there are never enough check-out lanes open and the self check-out line backs up into the already cramped and crowded aisles. Ive come here a few times and left upon seeing the outrageous lines and inability for customers to move through the store while other shoppers are standing in walkways waiting to check-out.

Just moved to the area and went here to get some groceries. I was shocked by the prices, they are twice as expensive as what I was used to on the east coast. I tried to sign up for a discount card but the employee walked off and forgot about me. Then another employee lectured everyone for forming a line the wrong way and blocking a walkway instead of getting on a cash register and helping get people checked out. And finally I got home and found mold on the bread and another product had been expired by 2 months. This place is literally twice as expensive as Wal Mart that has the exact same things and is less crowded. Never going here again.

Very attentive to me. When I was at the cash register and Linda was checking me out she noticed that I was not feeling well and she called another girl to come over and they got a chair for me and had me sit down and got water for me and let me set there till I kind of got to feeling well enough to go to my car so they bought out by groceries and put them in the truck for me. I was so grateful for all they did and was very happy when I arrived safely home where I could recruit and get to feeling better. This Safeway on Tassajara has always been gracious and helpful which is why I go there instead of a larger one in Dublin. Thanks again to all those that helped this old lady when she did not feel well.

This isnt our regular Safeway, we end up here only once every few months when we need a few odd items and were already in the mall.The good: its kept clean and organized.The meh: The staff are really inconsistent. Ive found helpful, and those who literally cant spare the time to help (Youll have to ask someone else).The bad: There isnt enough space between the check stands and the isles making things cramped. Its especially bad at the self checkout where the line either has to block people trying to cross or has to be hidden down an isle where people try to cut in because they dont see the six people already waiting. The coffee complex/thing/pod is squished right up front as well making it feel even more cramped.

As an instructor at Camp Parks sometimes I don’t get to eat at the dining facility. My cooking skills are not so good. I like when food is prepped. Here comes an angel to help named Arisbey. She took time to show an assortment of pre cut fruits even got me into yogurt. Yes, i never eat just yogurt but i must admit. My fear was all gone she helped me select smart and healthy. after this deployment i will return to Camp Parks knowing that i will have that one person that will help me with my grocery shopping. So, picture this, you get to Safeways, you tick off everything on your shopping list and you start to queue up to pay...you reach for youur wallet, and guess what, you left it in the car. Major problem, your wife has driven off to pick up some other shopping. Problem solved I thought, Ill just use Android pay so I reach for my phone, call up the app and set it up ready tap and go. Khadija ( I hope thats the right spelling ) was on the register and checked my shopping through quickly and efficiently. Really good friendly service. But to my horror, when it came time for me pay, Android Pay let me down, it wouldnt let me use an unsecure internet connection to make the payment. Which is fair enough, but it didnt stop the sweat from beading on my forehead or running down my back. I could feel the hurry up stares from the people in the queue behind me. Khadija, was cool as a cucumber, she called someone over to take over on the register for a short while to take care of the waiting customers, and we tried 3 other rergisters where I might get a signal for AndroidPay to work. But my luck was out. Khadija just said, okay, what Ill do is put your trolley in the fridge at the back of the store and when you come back with payment come look for me . So when my wife got back with the car ( and my wallet ), I found Khadija and she was true to her promise. Thank you for taking care of a very uncomfortable situation and taking care of your customers in a friendly, professional manner. You truly are credit to the staff at Safeways, Waterford. Thank You.
