Safeway is one of the supermarkets where I do my grocery shopping often. They have reasonable prices, good quality, and good customer service. This Safeway on Arden Way is one of the Safeway near my work. So shop this Safeway many times.The store is beautiful and clean. The employees here are very friendly and willing to help. I can park my car safely with all the security guards patrolling the parking lot.

Safeway substituted a 3.15 lb rib roast for the 15-19 lb rib roast I had ordered. Despite the scheduled pickup time of 10 am on Easter Sunday, I received an email notification of delay only 5 minutes after the appointed time. Upon arriving to inquire about the delay, the staff provided multiple excuses for their inability to fulfill the order. The meat department claimed they hadnt received the expected shipment, while the customer service department cited the limitation of their scales, asserting they couldnt handle such a large quantity of meat. Notably, when I initially placed the order, I had specifically called the meat department and spoken to the meat cutter to confirm their ability to fulfill an order of 15 to 19 lbs, and they assured me they could accommodate it. However, they failed to mention any issues with scale capacity, which the meat cutter would have been aware of.

They have an app that they ask you to use to get the discounts they offer in store, however nothing ever rings up right. We have been to this location 3 separate times to have the coupons not ring up. This time a manager was involved. Who didnt even walk away from the counter to go look at the coupons, instead we had to walk and take pictures and bring them back up to the front. Then they proceeded to tell us how we need to read the fine print (you have to search for that too) to know that the coupon doesnt actually work. I really think if you have promotions posted you should be honoring it instead of picking and choosing who you are going to give it to. Be careful to anyone who goes to this location for the promos. Nothing rings up and they have to put them in manually, usually after they argue with you.

This is the best Safeway Ive been to so far. They had all the items I needed. The staff and even the security guard were very nice. My Safeway club card worked for the first time in 3 years. The staff were not upset about me using it, as some Safeways have been in other locations. So thank you to the staff especially Aenoy. Who was very nice and very helpful in making sure I was logged in to get the member prices. And thank you to corporate Safeway for hiring such wonderful, helpful and kind staff. It is really appreciated to walk in with a smile and leave with an even bigger one! Stay Happy 😊

The employees here are so rude and hostile. Straight up. Scary to every kind of customer. Doesnt matter what you look like or whatever. They are nasty and mean. Safeway you are really sleeping on customer service and employee training. I work for Vons about 20 years ago and the company I worked for would have never ever ever tolerated this kind of customer treatment. Do you guys still have secret shoppers? Because if so they are not doing their jobs. I would love to volunteer for free. Because you were a company, I was proud to get customer service training from and bragged about it at every job I applied for for years. Even after graduating from college. Ive told employers and interviews that my customer service skills and my public interaction skills were all things to your company and I am absolutely blown away that there is an entire store of employees acting like hostile bullies. Following people around who arent doing anything wrong. Harassing people for standing in an aisle and shopping for too long. They refused to respond to me when I was asking if I could set my basket down and go outside to get a push card. They refused to let me add cash to my Capital One checking account, which thats how you add cash to it. Safeway you should be ashamed of yourself.

Needs more check stands open. Gift cards now have to be purchased at customer service and that is another line to wait in. I would not recommend the pharmacy. Its a shame it it used to be a wonderful store.

I have been to four Safeways in desperate search for the jumbo stuffed unicorn that my daughter saw there the week before at the Crocker Safeway. When I went back to get it, they only had bears and sloths. I was already done with her Xmas shopping until she met Santa at school and told him that was all she wanted. I wanted to make it happen. After Amazon couldn’t get it here before Xmas, I decided to fight the traffic at Arden mall. 100 stores, no luck. I visited three children’s stores and decided to try Arden Safeway.I met Christina who was stocking the candy and I told her my dilemma. She proceeded to group chat the other store managers and ask for help with the search. She was able to chat and confirm they had one at the Alhambra store. I got in the car and raced over. When I got to customer service, it was the little one and not the big one. I was crushed from my efforts. I didn’t know what to do.I did not have her last name or number and she had said she was just there helping out and it wasn’t her store. I tried Arden’s customer service and they found Christina who was about to leave. She took my cell number and said she would reach out to the two nearby districts and have them check inventory. An hour later, she called to say there was one in Fairfield and the store manager was heading to Sacramento and would drop it off at the Alhambra store. Two hours later, I received the text from Christina saying it was ready for pickup.My daughter will be over the moon on Christmas keeping the Christmas miracle alive. Shout out to Christina the store director of Elk Grove Calvin’s store who is my Christmas miracle. You went way above and beyond. You are absolutely amazing. I think you are the unicorn!!!

Christmas Day at Safeway was insane yet festive. Hundreds of people buying last minute holiday items consisting of everything imaginable. Even though the store over crowded it was still an enjoyable experience. The opportunity to share time and space with complete strangers was enriching. So glad to have been there.
