Nice shopping experience at Safeway. All the sections are well organized, offering a wide selection of meats, vegetables, bakery goods, deli items, and dairy products. Large parking lot with a useful Tesla Supercharger station.

This Safeway was surprisingly large; their flowers were fairly dead, but it is Halloween after all so I guess thats fitting. The fruit and vegetables were well stocked and cared for, but the meat..... not so much. For as expensive as it has become, I kind of expect it to be the best looking and perfectly cut/trimmed meat I have ever wanted to put in my belly... We ARE all taking out second mortgages on our homes just to buy a rib-eye, right? Forget buying one for your partner, you might as well just sell your second car. The store workers were busy stocking, but I have added pictures of the stores layout for your viewing and decision-making pleasure. This was a good experience. It was definitely MUCH better than going to the San Antonio Location hands down. Check it out!

Got this pack of ribs home and discovered ribs with no meat. They obviously did this to bring the weight up to meet spec. Too bad they are not smart enough to simply weigh it and sell it by the actual weight. Took it back and all they did was offer a replacement or refund. No acceptance of the fact they cost me time and gas. Very disappointed in this store as this is likely a management decision to pad with bones. I dont go to Safeway much, but this makes it clear its to be avoided. I wonder what other ways they cheat their customers.Edit: I did contact Safeway as indicated in their reply. They have not responded in two days. Its as if they are trying to lead people to think they are concerned, but they are not. My advice, ignore their stores as this company does not respect its customers.

I love this Safeway, they have a lot of good deals in store and on the app. At first this place seems pretty old and run down but after shopping here exclusively for the last year, I prefer this location. Bakery items are always fresh, I like the hot food options, and lately they have several ready meal options that I dont see at other stores.

Kind of a hit or miss at Safeway. Sometimes you find some great deals. A lot of times you have to confirm pricing when you scan an item. It doesn’t reflect the discounted price that you’re supposed to get so you have to be extra attentive. You also can scan the barcode for some special discounts, but it never works there you save program is really so frustrating, they make it so complicated for a discount produces usually kind of fresh the meats again hit or miss depending on when you’re there the good thing is they have a lot of locations and they’re easy to pick up last minute items but definitely try not to shop here full-time

I have shopped at this Safeway for years, and spend a great amount of money each month. This store has gone down hill for a while now. Half of the employees speak very little English, and the turnover constant. There are 3 other Safeways close by. Meat dept, Deli, shelves are all 100% better than this store.

This Safeway is always dependable, having adequate inventory to satisfy the sale demand. Not one of the fancy Safeway stores, but my first choice when I am going to a Safeway. The store is clean and well organized. They usually have the sale price tags out early.

Store doesnt look clean. I am moving to Placerville area, their Safeway is bigger, clean, better layout and customer service.I had to come back to bay to visit a friend. Went back to my old Safeway, not much improved. Non-English, mostly, vaguely hostile. I brought my own bag, which was rather crumpled, clerk turned nose up. Next time, will bring in a new crinkle proof bag. No big deal, the clerk was testy, let her think what she will. Snooty bay area with prison issue quality food. Gross homeless hang around outside.

Hate to be that guy, but there were a lot of issues here. Three different carts and they were all really squeaky or barely moved. No produce bags, bags of fruit were ripped or clearly taken out of, items displayed in stock on website not in stock, floor was sticky, bumpy areas where cart needs to go down curb and parking lot jostled groceries out of cart. Maybe not the stores fault, but mainly the customers that shop here, but it wasnt exactly pleasant.

Our Kindergarten class was given the opportunity to take a field trip to this Safeway, and the manager and staff (Khider & Josie as well as others) were so friendly and helpful, and we were so impressed by their organization and interactiveness. The store was very clean and orderly, and the kids had a great time. Really appreciated the store making the time and effort to show the kids something thats a part of the community!

Safeway has a good assortment of groceries and everyday items, like toiletries, pet food, items for babies, and gift cards or cards for various occasions.They also have a nice floral assortment. I especially like their Balloon services, where you can have balloon bouquets made for pretty much any occasion.

Consistently good Safeway. The staff are friendly all times of day and usually is well stocked. Sometimes the lines back up, but during the daytime they are pretty good about opening another register. There are occasionally transients that hang outside the entrance late at night, but theyre not aggressive or drugged out.

I have never been treated so rudely in my life for no reason at the deli section of the Safeway!!! Standing patiently in line waiting to be served next, I was totally and deliberately ignored by the worker to help the next person standing behind me!!! Feeling baffled, I asked what was the reason for that treatment, but she never made eye contact and went on her business. The other employees also ignore me and told me dont worry about it, and kept asking me what can I help you, totally disregarding what had just happened!! They also gave me the annoying look and told me to go to customer service if I have any issues!! I hope management will do something about this as this was not the first time that happened to me at the Safeway especially at the deli department!! Never again at the Safeway for me!!! Im so angry right now!

Staff had no idea if they were able to take soda cans back for deposit refund or what the process might be. Frustrating waste of my time.After hitting the customer service button a few times as requested I gave up and went to another store to get my deposits back and do my weekly grocery shopping somewhere else.

Its a nice place. Consistently has better stock than other Safeway stores, good selection of meat.Update Jan 2022: theyve reorganized the store, and the layout has logically improved. The new self checkout machines are more plentiful and easier to use. Still a consistently good selection. Getting a Safeway card doesnt require a credit check or anything, just a phone number and email, and itll save you maybe 10%. This helps balance Safeway prices if youre used to more affordable places like Trader Joes.

Very inconsistent service from cashiers and baggers. Most of the time I bag up my groceries (with little to no help from the cashier) and when I look at my receipt when I get home I see incorrect pricing and quantities. Looks nice outside but a bit old and sad looking inside. Floral section is unusually large with lots of gifts like stuffed animals cards vases and balloons.Very busy night crew here more than Ive seen even at the big Safeway in Mountain View.Only one self checkout stand but a very big deli for such an old store. In fact there is an extra fancy sandwich shop and above average amount of ready to cook meals in little aluminum trays.Outside there are two charging stations for e cars and also a huge row of Tesla chargers on the other side of the parking lot-- which were all full at midnight for some reason.One thing done well is that they actually had two people working the registers late at night unlike most Safeway stores where there is either one or nobody at all.

8/25/22Now they close off the public bathrooms to clean it and still have a sign over the signal use bathroom. A mother with her 2 kids needed to use it and after letting them know the single use bathroom is available the workers just put a sign up so no one can use it a female worker gave me a dirty look. I was told someone would speak to the store director and fix this but nothing has been done. I spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars in that store and they are not letting their customers use the bathrooms that they have. Its not right. If that single person bathroom is for employees only then change the sign. Theres nothing wrong with employees only bathroom but change the sign, take out the changing table and dont have the employees use the public bathrooms. Leave those for the customers who spend money in your store.If youre a mother dont come to this Safeway with your baby cause they have closed off and blocked the only bathroom that has a changing table also if your Muslim woman and prefers to do your business in private you can not.

I went on my lunch break to get something quick and suddenly I had to use the ladies room. Well as I am waiting to use the restroom out comes an employee whom doesnt alert me that theres no toilet paper and walks away. Plenty of seat covers,but no toilet paper I realize after I had sat down what a day. Theres has been a couple times where I have asked questions to the employees and they just bluntly answer in a rude way...I dont get it...almost like their unhappy to be there. So from now on I wont be going to that safeway...ill explore other locations.

Had a very bad experience at Safeway Pharmacy. Went there to get the booster dose of vaccine for my son. While getting the vaccine, the behavior of the nurse was very rude with me. I was just taking a photo of my son being vaccinated when she behaved rudely with me. I was taking my sons photo and not hers. She spoke to me roughly and asked not to take video and mentioned the policy (which was not mentioned anywhere in the pharmacy section). I was taking photograph and anyone can take photo at the time of vaccination unless stated otherwise. After all of this, I respected the policy and did not take a video. She should mention rules politely to all the customer. Would not recommend visiting this Safeway Pharmacy again.

Received some of the best customer service I have ever received in my life from Kathy and Victor. I approached Kathy in the bakery section to inquire about some mouthwatering St. Pierre brioche burger buns that were not in stock and she said she would order some and they would be there when I came back the following weekend. I also asked about a variety of overnight oats that seemed to be dwindling and not getting restocked over the past 2-3 weeks and she called the manager Victor over to ask him about them. Victor also said that he would order them and they would be there when I came back the following weekend. I came back the following weekend and both items were fully stocked! I honestly hope Safeway HQ sees this review and rewards them for going above and beyond like this.... I cant remember the last time I experienced such outstanding customer service. The remodeling crew has also done and amazing job and the store looks great!

I went about 8am to Safeway Sunnyvale at Bernardo and El Camino. Been in my usual round of Safeway locations for about 4 years in SB/Pen area. I must say in that period, this store made a 180 degree turn in the right direction. From chronic understaffing to well staffed, no shortages of staple foods, more attention to the customer and a clean and well maintained store. As with most other grocery supermarkets, accomodations for curbside pickup for online orders are offered. Deliveries are available. Parking is plentiful--for Tesla drivers, there are charging stalls as well. 6 bays, or more. Since the pandemic, hours were cut down for 24 hr locations and stayed that way. I would wager thats one reason how this location went through a renaissance. No more long lines and grumpy staff. Happy shopping!

I shop here often as its close to home. Its a small Safeway.... One of the managers Sergio makes the difference. Anyways friendly, personable. Its a conveniently located Safeway. They *usually* have what I need and its all good. They need to a better job ordering though. It seems it takes a long time to get something in when it runs out or it will be a long time between restocks. Some stuff is not their fault, vendors stock certain things, but things like coffee and some dairy items can be out for long periods of time Ive noticed and Ive had to go to either the Safeway further down El Camino or the one in Los Altos or Cuesta to get what I want, which is irritating.

Probably the worst Safeway in the area. Shelves are frequently bare and there arent enough registers open. One time there were no registers open at all and all the customers were just waiting around for someone to show up. The Safeway at 150 E El Camino Real is just down the street and way better.

The new milk display installed during covid is terrible and the management does not have them refaced often enough. They have the Lucerne milk at the very top and no one can reach it once 3 or so cartons have been pulled. I cant tell you how many times Ive only been able to get one of the two I intended to buy bc I dont wish to find help and wait. Customers should be able to grab and go. Not sure why they dont clue in to this as sometimes its me and 2 other customers all standing there for 10 minutes trying to get help. If it werent a staple item, I would not bother making an issue of it.

Deli has great options of cooked food - chicken breast, kale mango salad, chicken Chinese salad, fresh sushi. They also have tons of keto items - bread, cookies, icecream, flour. This is the usual Safeway we go to, because of proximity. A lot of people complain about this Safeway not being good, but Ive seen it mostly stocked up, and the employees being helpful.During the lockdown, they intermittently imposed restrictions on number of shoppers, but mostly there were quite a few people during busy times. But most shoppers and employees are wearing masks.

During shelter-in-place modifications have been made including, sneeze guards, arrows pointing in the directions you should go towards, and lines to limit entry. Well stocked and there is still plenty of shelter-in-place necessities (Toilet paper, hand sanitizer, masks, etc. are still available.) Terrible, surly staff. Place is usually dirty. My son and I went for a quick ice cream run (this is closest Safeway). We checked out, got our receipt and the druggie cashier followed us out at the door he loudly shouted...you didnt pay for that ice cream. Dozens of customers and other staff, including the manager, were right there. I held up my receipt, he took it and read it (not sure if he can read, but) after a long minute of looking at it he said ... Ok and walked away. I was angry with the rude treatment, so I just left. A couple days later I went back to see the manager, he had been within 10 feet of the situation and did nothing that evening, and now he acted like...what ya want me to do about it. I drive further to better Safeway

This is the worst Local grocery I have ever seen. My parents who do not know English came here to buy some vitamin C but they made a mistake and took a CoQ10 back to home. When I came home and found that they made an mistake and went back to the store to return. I never expect to meet such a rude and ridiculous so called manager. I still cant believe that man is the director manager since he is just SO RUDE. He yelled that THEIR POLICY IS TO NOT ACCEPT VITAMIN RETURNS, THERE IS NO REASON THAT IS OUR POLICY. I asked if he can show me the policy since I never seen such policy before, he yelled again: I CANT TELL YOU WHY. NO REASON!! SEARCH IT YOURSELF!I was shocked a manager could behave like this. And I searched this kind of policy but I cant find it anywhere.They charged the natural made 400mg 40 soft gels CoQ10 vitamins for $63.99 before tax, I searched this and its price on Amazon is $17.9, on other website the most expensive one is only $28.9. Maybe thats the reason they refused to return vitamins.I will definitely call Safeway customer service and tell organizations like BBB about this unfair thing. This is a huge humiliation to me and my family.Hopefully others can know this ridiculous unfair policy before they go to the store to buy vitamins. Be careful you may get rip off.

A guy named Sergio in this store was really rude and ill-mannered. I bought a bottle of whiskey but its case is missing. I went back to the store to ask for a case. Sergio seemed arrogant and did not feel sorry at all when he couldnt solve this simple problem. When I asked for his name and prepared for a complaint, he even THREW a card at me and said GOOD LUCK to me. I was absolutely shocked.
