2024-06-11 08:06:10I went to do a bigger shopping. I went in mid afternoon on Monday. The produce wasn’t fresh. The whole produce department Looked like it wasn’t freshly stocked. Old produce. Picked over.I wanted to buy fresh flowers. It looked like they didn’t get a new shipment of flowers either. I didn’t buy flowers. Is this a management issue? Management dropped the ball? Not organized? I don’t know.I bought a pack of the Safeway brand chicken. Looked like they use old chickens. I had to throw one breast away. Others were tough because they use OLD chickens!Cashiers don’t look professional. They should look clean and presentable. This is not the case.Baggers are mentally handicapped. They throw my expensive groceries in the bags with no regard. They make some bags so heavy that I struggle to lift them and they don’t make good use of the bags I bring!Prices are ridiculously expensive.Management needs to step it up big time.I might drive to the Alamo Safeway for my next shopping trip.Tired of this.I hate this Safeway.I had to shop here because I was in a hurry.Bad produce…again!Sloppy employees…still!Meat selection bad.Never enough cashiers…the usual!Mentally disabled baggers that ruin my food. They literally throw my stuff in the bags or put things like peaches with the canned goods!I now tell them I’ll bag my own groceries.Good God!I went to the Safeway in Alamo last week.Everything was much better but the prices are still ridiculously high.I think Safeway is taking advantage of people with their high prices. I don’t think the high prices are justified.GougingAlamo Safeway is much better in general though!

2022-02-09 18:35:56Should I give this store five stars or one? I guess it depends on the time of day I shop here. For those of us who frequent this location, the people who work the check out are generally fabulous people. A few have really stood out over the years like Dora and Camilla, but management seems to be a huge problem and their refusal to hire proper support staff ruins the experience. They are almost always short on baggers and the parking lot is typically in disarray. Also, the lines are usually very long and the workers are frustrated with short staffing. For big shopping days I typically go to other stores and if you come here after dark, the vibe is not good at all. The clientele changes after dark and it’s not as comfortable as during the day.I’ve been shopping here 25 years and keep hoping it will improve. So far, it hasn’t.

2024-04-26 21:14:37DeliThe deli and food process is important to customer satisfaction and store/staff reputation. I have good experiences there but would like to suggest that while a staff member is making a sandwich for a customer, then another staff member should not come over and reach over the sandwich while being made! Reached over the sandwich with bare arms to restock the turkey bin. The person making my sandwich had to stop the process and scoot over to the left. It was rude and unsanitary. When I got home in unfortunately pulled out a strand of hair that clearly wasn’t mine. My appetite was gone and had to throw out the sandwich. Can I make a suggestion for hair nets to be worn in the food and deli sections. Anywhere where food is being served or prepared. This may prevent hair from falling into our sandwiches and hot foods.

2024-06-17 21:43:43I was trying to redeem my lottery, and the clerk told me to wait. Waited for 30 minutes and still could not redeem. Asked a few more times, and she says they are out of order.

2023-07-10 03:35:34Its not horrible, but its not Trader Joes, Costco, or Whole Foods.Prices are wildly high for the quality.I really only shop at Safeway if: its the only option for miles in any direction, a gun is to my head, or were nearby and need something bad enough. Its pretty clean, but I will try to not come back. A similar loaf of bread is 3x Trader Joes prices. Wild.

2024-01-17 21:39:50Been experiencing an increase of negative vibes and customer service at this particular Safeway. A staff member, I believe a short older Hispanic woman is the most unpleasant/ rude and unacceptable altogether, along with other staff working in the Starbucks area and throughout the store. The women staff do not smile at anyone! They appear grouchy disgusted with shoppers and just grumpy overall. I came to purchase a bag of oranges and actually decided to just leave. I am a regular shopper threre but I will need to reduce my shopping at this location and attend wholefoods or trader Joes. I will drive 10 minutes away to shop at another Safeway. The shopping experience at this Safeway location has really gotten low vibed with staff and probably need to go. Also the store reeked of hot fish upon entering. As if the refrigerator had broken. At least at wholefoods I can walk into a display of fresh smelling fruit and produce. A cry out to Safeway Corporate. This has been going on for quite some time now. A good year even . You might want to check in on your Safeway store and staff in Walnut Creek 600 S Broadway.Im being most serious and not sarcastic at all.

2024-01-08 23:40:36Today I really bad experience at safeway in walnut creek (Broadway walnut creek) w/ Felicia shes a cashier w / a very bad attitude and racist, she refused to take my passport as my identification since I just lost my California ID and that was the only identificationI had with me at the moment, passports are a government issued form of ID and can be taken as a valid form of ID anywhere,I asked to speak to the manager, she was called and after checking the passport, the cashier was told it was ok to take it,after that Felicia seems he got upset because she started throwing my groceries rudely, I didnt say anything I just thought it was funny for her behavior, she didnt even say thank you or anything l,shes a very bad element for this company, she should be moved to another department in which she doesnt have to deal with people. It was a very bad and disappointing experience.

2023-12-28 00:54:37Very clean store, friendly, helpful employees, good parking, was open Christmas Day minus the on-site Starbucks.Of course, this goes without saying, but never get sushi at any Safeway as youre sure to be put off by taste, quality & texture. Bakery is very fresh. Aisles always stocked well. Cleanliness = expected of a location in Walnut Creek. Also thankfully they still have 3 self checkouts open, this isnt ghetto Oakland or SF where shoplifters just run around picking off anything they want without paying. Also weve never seen a homeless person in Walnut Creek like some other reviewer said they saw outside of this Safeway at night. I think all the homeless walked over to SF actually.

2023-06-13 02:31:07I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Safeway located in Walnut Creek, CA. As soon as I walked through the doors, I was greeted with a friendly and warm atmosphere that made me feel at home. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the store and the organization of the goods on the shelves.Safeway in Walnut Creek offers a broad selection of groceries, including a bakery, deli, and fresh produce section that left me spoilt for choice. I was particularly drawn to the fresh produce section, where a variety of fruits and vegetables were displayed in a rainbow of colors. The freshness and quality were evident, and I was delighted to take home some of the tastiest and crunchiest apples Ive had in a while. The bakery and deli sections were equally impressive, boasting a wide assortment of breads, pastries, meats, and cheeses. The aroma wafting from the bakery was enticing, and the freshly baked goods tasted as good as they smelled. What I appreciated most about this Safeway was the convenience it offered. The store layout was logical and easy to navigate, which made my shopping experience smooth and hassle-free. Additionally, the store hours are very accommodating, opening at 5:00 AM and closing at 11:00 PM daily, making it easy for me to shop at a time that best suits my schedule.Lastly, the staff at Safeway deserves a mention for their professionalism and friendliness. They were always willing to assist, helping me locate items on my list and answering any queries I had with a smile. In conclusion, my visit to Safeway in Walnut Creek was an enjoyable one. The wide selection of products, the pleasant shopping environment, and the friendly service make this grocery store a gem in the neighborhood. I look forward to many more shopping trips at Safeway, Walnut Creek

2022-10-11 06:48:09Significantly more expensive than wholefoods. $4 lb more for salmon that has coloring added. Beef cuts with tendons running straight through the middle. thin cut ribeyes to make them look like a deal before you realize the thickness. tons of weird stew cuts nobody has ever bought. $10 packs of 8 slices of american cheese. $8 for a ham and american cheese sandwich. tri tip with the biggest fat caps youve ever seen hidden underneath. Fruit that is of lower quality and not as fresh. compare blueberries and strawberries under driscols at both locations and youll see what i mean. It goes on and on. the only bread that is even bread is semifreddies and theyre always out. the rest is the same cheap factory bread with tons of sugar to be produced fast and cheap. everything else is so expensive.safeway has run its course. too expensive. poor quality. psychologically designed to make you pay more for bad health.Oh, and they keep their closeout food in the bathroom hallway next to the most putrid smelling bathroom youve ever been forced to look at food next to. Just an extra slant to anyone needing bargain food.
