Most Associates are very nice! There’s a nice dining area at the Starbucks. The guy (Mitchell) at the Starbucks is always offering samples of the new drinks! (I haven’t had Starbucks samples in years at any other stores where I’ve lived among CA, TX and FL)

I don’t believe they are storing cold items at a proper temperature. Purchased Organic Hard Cooked Eggs package of 6. They were rancid with a horrible odor. Purchased milk that wasn’t near as cold as other grocery stores. The drive home is only 5 minutes. Second time this has happened. Will not be going back. Last thing anyone needs is food poisoning.

Slimy management... I went in to buy some ice cream. Cashier said price was $10. I told her its was $7.49 (even after using my membership card). She called the manager. Manager said it was for another brand. So I went back and snapped a picture. When I came back the price was already changed to $7.49. I asked what had changed. Both said nothing had changed and that they had never told me it was $10. Im not coming back and you should watch you receipts too.PS: Management told me to reach out to them in their reply to this post, which I did several times. No one ever contacted me back. Just thought it was important to mention, since it corroborates the slimy management at this store.

While they tout recycling, management should provide a color map for staff, and help. High marks to Ginger who kept asking, and helped me. Poor marks to Manager Jennifer who made me wait in line twice.Why twice?Once I made it to the counter Jennifer made a point of stating several times I needed to go outside and put my bottles in their special bag. My bottles were very clean too.They spend $ on new decor. When its customer service tact that should be addressed.

Safeway Deli REALLY impressed me with 3 trays for an event. The meat, cheese and fruit were not only fresh and tasty but it was beautiful. Our guests were also impressed. I will definitely return.

I have been house/dog sitting for a friend and this Safeway has been my go to over the past week. Although I think Safeways in general are a complete rip off and WAY over priced!!!! I will say that this particular Safeway is a clean, well stocked, Big Safeway!! You wont be disappointed. Hopefully youll find items & other goodies on sale!! Good luck!

This is one of the better Safeways. Its newer than most others in the area and has a good selection. If youre going to shop at Safeway, make sure to get the app. The savings are great with the app.

I like the early and late hours. Employees (where present) have been consistently good.The downsides: selection, price and service.Heres what I mean: theyll say its supply chain issues, but you can get the goods at other grocery stores. It costs less at the other places. The other places staff to bag groceries (and competently). The lines move at other places.Safeway doesnt aspire to any of that. I think they assume they have a lock on the local market. Were shopping elsewhere more and more frequently now and were happier for it.Revisiting this review a month later: were still gleefully driving past Safeway to shop at a competitor. Wish wed looked around sooner.The hot bar isnt great; deli selection is shallow; prices dont make sense for their mediocrity.

Not much of an online review poster but I have to give a shout out to the Dublin Blvd Safeway. As many may know, the shopping experience from one Safeway location to another tends to vary. I am happy to report that this location is consistently clean and well-stocked, unlike a certain location closer to my home. The staff here are also excellent. Theyve always been friendly and go above-and-beyond whenever I have an oddball request, like locating and packing every jar of my favorite salsa in the store when it went on clearance. I sincerely hope that the management and employees alike are being treated well for their efforts, as it translates to an excellent shopping experience. I selfishly wish this location and its exceptional staff were closer to me.

The Safeway is alright. I bought some menthol stuff for a sore through. But for some reason the packaging smelled REALLY BAD for some reason kinda fishy it was so intense that after, I touched it everything smelled like it. I really don’t want to know what that was but I just put it back and took a new. It was fine after I washed my hands but the smell is still in my nose.The Safeway is pretty nice though and will go there again.

Store layout was great. Customer service as well, but food from the deli not so much.I purchased some what I thought was some soft delicious bao steam buns but were actually semi hard dry rocks. I tried microwaving them no avail. At first it I thought it was delicious, but when I actually analyzed the flavor and textures I was repulsed.The meat inside was the consistency of chewy fatty chunky brain matter. I had to look away after spitting out the bits. The color seemed off and didnt help with my brain matter analogy that I had been thinking about. I have 3/5 left. Not sure if I can down them no matter how hungry I am. Simply disappointed.

We are new to the area. Having knowledge of many Safeway stores among the bay area counties, I say the Dublin Blvd. store is at the top of the list! The store is clean, bright and well-organized. The fresh food is fresh and the arrangements are aesthetically pleasing. The shelves are well organized and someone is always cleaning and restocking the shelves. The conveyor belts at the checkout stands are in good repair and not torn as those at the Rossmoor Safeway. Ginger a cashier at the Dublin Blvd. store is a exemplary employee. She is efficient, customer-centered, and performs her job with care and compassion. Although this store is about 20 minutes from our home, this is our preferred grocery store. Well done team! Thank you for the highest quality service.

Your store is a great store and need more people like her promoted so they can train others. The self checkouts at this store are now express only which is a disadvantage for me because I prefer to do self check out for my regular grocery shopping. Walmart Neighborhood Market is set up for self checkout for large orders so I’ll be going there a lot more now. Probably going to cost Safeway about $3000 a year in revenue just from my family alone.

The cashiers like to use their cell phones and ignore the customers. This has happened now to both my husband and myself on two different occasions. I have shopped at Safeway in Santa Cruz and Aptos Ca. And when U cant find an item they take you to the item, not at this store they will give you the aisle number and usually its not there. There was once when I went back to the individual and they looked it up and actually did find the product that was moved because it wasnt an item used Year round.So this store is not helpful minus four individual who I can say LOVE their job. The rest our just their to collect a pay check and dont care if your there or not!Will I be back maybe in about 6-8 months after corporate has address my complaints. If I experience the same I WILL NEVER RETURN.... I love sprouts I may make them my go to store along with Ranch 99 for my meat and their vegetables are amazing...So I hope this opens they eyes is Safeway upper management. When your in the self check out Stay off your phones and pay attention to the needs of your customers.... or when I try your store again if its not a great experience Ill be gone forever as will many of my friends and family.

So I been shopping here for about 2 years now. Great convenient location. I have encounter a few of their workers. A few of their great workers is Dianne and a Hispanic lady whom I guess maybe a manager. Also there’s a tall guy with glasses who also has awesome customer service and a great personality. Anyways today once again I encounter a lady name Cindy. She is seriously rude. Every time I come in the store we make eye contact she never says hello very stank attitude. Today I said hello the first time because I was tired of those stank looks she would give me and be nice to another customer passing by, when I patronize this store often like everyone else. Lines are always long for the prices you have to pay. Went through self checkout. Checker at self checkout not paying attention to me ringing up my groceries. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Store is very clean. Most departments are well stocked. My only issue is with the bakery. They are often out of items on my Just for you deals. When I ask where the items are it sounds like whoever is in charge didnt feel like making that item today. Maybe a lack of communication with the corporate office, regarding sales promotions, but very annoying. Has happened on multiple occasions with different items.

This is not the worst Safeway by any means. Comparing to SF Safeway, the food is fresh, the shelves are relatively well stocked, and the place is clean. The beef products and surprisingly their bakery are their real forte. However, items tend to be overpriced, especially veg. The worst part of this store is long checkout lines are common.Go to 99 Ranch Market around the block for what I find to be cheaper and fresher produce, eggs, and sea food.

Today I had a tuna sandwich from there deli department. When I got there nobody was a deli counter just a very tall, frail man. And when he came around to the other side of the counter I saw that he worked there. Didnt wipe down counters and there was what looked a few dead flies on the place where he was about to put my bread. Went thru the self checkout today. To my surprise employee Elizabeth was putting 5 star effort by checking people out as the 4th machine was down. What made my day, and she didnt know is I have a bulging disc in my neck and it was already gonna be a challenge to check out, yet by asking if I wanted a bag proceeded to bag the items leaving me the easy task of just swiping my card. Well done saved me some agony and made my day!

Prices consistently higher than closeby Target even after club discounts. When I shop at Target I just grab whatever I want, at Safeway its always a game with the fake discounts. Some simple things like botled spring water can be 30% above Target price. If you watch for coupons you can absolutely save a lot of money at Safeway, but if you came for specific things and they are not on sale they will be more expensive.The automated checkout machines always rush you while Target machines dont hurry you up if you are not scanning items fast enough (e.g. reordering).The staff is very friendly though!

Pharmacy staff are amazing and more than helpful. If I could rate them separate from the rest of the store they would get 5 stars. But in this case they pull the store up to 2 stars. Fairly clean store and stocked well most of the time. Produce quality is hit and miss and meat cuts are more of the same, some day ok and other days not what you would expect for they prices they want. The real kicker is they never have the checkers they really need at the front. Never have the number of baggers either. More often then not you will need to start bagging yourself to help the limited number of checkers they have working at any given time. I have tried going here at all different times of the day and evening, same story.

At 8:10 pm only one assisted checkout lane open and 7 people in line, so we went to self-checkout.Every scan was an error and the locals in line just glare at you as if you dont know what youre doing. I usually always shop at this safeway for my groceries. The only bad thing about this place is the customer service desk. There is NEVER anyone there to help people. I recently waited quite a while for someone to come help me. Its annoying. Other than that, I love shopping here. My favorite is their sandwiches! Theyre so much better than Subway! I always get the turkey, bacon, chipotle sandwich, and its so good. The prices arent cheap, but sometimes they have sales.

Safeway is a good balance of quality very price between Whole foods and Walmart. Over the years they have remodeled to be nicer and have added a strong selection of organics. I still like Trader Joes for staples but Safeway is definitely between for selection and fresh items. Sprouts may have cheaper fresh items and much larger selection of bulk and health food items but have always found sprouts produce to not last very long.

Ordered a cake for my daughters 18th. At first I was going to walk out the first lady I came in contact with was extremely rude and dismissive. This is for this Safeways deli. This was my first time getting a sandwhich at this Safeway deli and my last, I always order the same veggie sandwich each time. She was extremely stingy with the veggies I chose, then my sandwich came out to $8.99!!! I told her Ive always paid $6.99 for a veggie sandwich. She became very rude & short with me, saying my veggies were add-ons. I said $9.00 for a meatless sandwhich was ridiculous. Used to order deliveries due to being disabled after a stroke. Out of seven times, they forgot the milk 5 times. From the smallest to the gallon size. I even called them twice. As I was using the restroom and on my way out to shop, I noticed a food prep employee USED the restroom and DID NOT WASH HIS HANDS as he returned to work to prepare more food, very disturbing to know what goes on at this location, as I am wearing my mask and washing my hands to fight covid-19, there are people out their with disregard to their own customers. The best Safeway ever! I live in Oakland and the Safeway near me off of Broadway is AWFUL! Staff so unbelievably miserable, unhelpful & rude! Beautiful store unfortunately the staff makes it very undesirable . oNLY if i have no other option will i go there. Dublin Safeway is my go to! I drive all the way to Dublin to do my shopping. I love my Safeways. My Safeway is in Arcata,Ca. Thats where I started to become a loyal customer. This one in Castro Valley is the fanciest and has nice employees. You know Pleasanton is Safeway headquarters and Im glad to have seen it. I want to tell them remodel the Safeway in Arcata because that one is still from the sixties. Anyways, happy shopping folks.

I absolutely loath safeway. Not only do the prices suck compared to competitors, but the service here is awful. Ive been in multiple safeways, and everytime i leave them, i regret ever stepping foot in these depressing stores. Staff is always in bad moods and never willing to help. I even had an employee tell me not to touch something while looking for mayonnaise. Will never go into another safeway again.

Professional cheats. Make sure if you do an online delivery, everything that they charge you for comes. The last 3 times in a row Ive had to call and complain that theres missing items that they charged me for. Horrible service, and not to mention discriminatory management. Im handicapped. I need the use of the electric carts to get around the store. Why in hades do they park the carts at the east entrance near the deli, when the handicapped parking is in front of the main entrance? This means I either have to find a parking space in front of the east entrance, or endure a long walk with a bad leg to get a cart. Someone on the staff said it was because the electric outlets werent available at the main entrance, wrong! There are outlets available. I suspect the management is more interested in using the space for promotional displays than providing a convenient service to the handicapped. The only reason I gave Safeway a 3 star is it is a fine store. By the way Dublin Safeway management, the San Ramon, and Bernal stores dont have this inconvenience for hanicapped.

Outside of the deli sandwich dept, this is a great Safeway to shop at. The sandwich staff likes to overcharge their customers for substituting meat (turkey for ham/sausage/bacon) even though other locations like the one off of Tassajara charge the exact same price (I called them and they agreed; price shouldnt change).I was told the pre wrapped turkey (3-4 slices) is $9.99 by itself and the ham is only $.50 which sounds completely bogus to me and I went to work this morning without having breakfast.

They recently cut off the $300 cashback limit at self checkout to $100. This was a lifesaver during covid times now we have nothing. I recommend getting Sorento peppers. By ringing 1 at a time paying only a few cents per $100 withdraw. Hopefully this helps others! Thanks

During this time of crisis Safeway in Dublin on Amador Plaza had everything under control!! Once we got in line the awesome Dirk was in control of directing cart traffic and making sure everyone moved along smoothly! Once at the register our cashier ( and I’m sad to say I didn’t get her name) but she was so friendly and kept her smile on the whole time.. overall it only took us 20 mins. From the time I got in the controlled line to sitting back in my car!!! Kudos to ALL of you for doing a great job!!!!!

This Safeway is larger than the Safeway on the east side of Dublin, and so has a larger variety of items. Also you can get cell phone service almost all throughout the store! Why is this a big deal? For when you need to download coupons and use your just for U app while youre in the store, before you get to the checkout! Or to call or text your family to ask which type of bread to get! Besides that the store is clean and well organized. They have 2 different sized shopping carts, so you have a smaller option if you dont want to push around the full-size one. I do wish they had more lights in the parking lot when its dark at night, but thats not enough to take away a star.
