Everyone who works at this Safeway is super accommodating and very friendly. Helpful too! Store has great selection. Just make sure you’re a Safeway Club member and use the app. Well worth the savings.

This store doesnt care about their customers! I let them know their motor scooters werent working MONTHS ago!!!! ALL FOUR OF THEM. The only way things changed is because I reached out to Safeway on TWITTER myself. No wonder Ive seen people with canes pushing carts for years here! Those scooters were there for appearances only! Yall could have a lawsuit on your hands. Your welcome!I have to say tho, the people that work the deli/hot food counter are awesome so friendly and helpful.

I dont normally leave reviews for grocery stores, but had to since the employee manning the self-checkout went out of her way to stop me in the parking lot because she thought I left $40 hanging from the cash dispenser. God saw two honest people here including myself. We compared receipts and realized someone before me left their cash hanging. Also, the employee who made my sandwich was very friendly and the sandwich was really good. Store is clean as well.

The product selection isnt bad but the prices are way HIGHER than they should be. (Another Safeway is 5 mins down the road and they are much more reasonable.)Ive been shopping here for years and Im not sure how to describe the environment... Its like management loves sucking the happiness out of their employees. If I see someone working there for a long time, they look miserable. They ones that help you with a smile seem to move on quickly and I dont blame them.The late-night cashiers are always so friendly tho! I wonder if thats because of no manager or less customers. Lol

Good wine selection. A little better than your standard supermarket lineup. Prices are a bit high unless you get six fornthe 30% off deal, but then you are in that much more money. Cheese section is decent as well. Hit this spot for wine and cheese before you head out to the Carmel valley picnic spot.

Nice and clean location. Surprisingly the washrooms was very clean and well-kept. The shopping carts come with race cars for kids that my daughter loved. Other than that, its your typical Safeway.probably the best place to get snacks and drinks if youre by the beach in Carmel.

I got into this store. I didn’t smell no rotten chicken. Me and a man had been in a car and wanted coffee. Starbucks! Named after the stern but fair 1st mate on that ill fated ship the Pequod! That’s a little Melville in this land of Steinbeck! Got Jim bean, onion, eggo pop tart, and tried to take a toilet break but some fella decided to hog the only crapper! The staff here are always kind and nice. Produce is fresh and plentiful with lots of organic choices. Wine drinkers will love the extensive wine section that also sports some high end and rare wines. Convenient for visitors to the area. Bonus: it is open 24 hours.

Strifeway is a seriously despicable store. It has been this way for many years.Tried to buy a croissant today, baker says they have to go in boxes of six! I know they usually put a few out most days to sell as singles. How nasty to tell a customer no when the product is right there in front of them. The attutide of the the employees at this disorganized store is how can we make your shopping experience worse today?Some food products may say sale, but at the register it may charge regular price. BEWARE!After a mistake during checkout I was upset for a couple seconds, and had to ask to have the order returned and start over. I even told the cashier it was not her fault, just a stressful day, and Safeways overly complex and arbitrary systems dont help. The manager needed an extremely lengthy session over it. It became a show down. He kept telling me to calm down when I was motionless and silent. For goodness sake! I was only asking to have four items returned, not a cartful of groceries. After trying to pound me down, the manager refused to do the return at all and did not even give me all the groceries for which I had just paid. I had to come back for them!Such an ugly attitude. Why? To punish a suffering shopper? Meanwhile Im trying not to stare at the warts clustered around his nostrils that are usually caused by contagious pappiloma virus. It felt like I was risking my physical and mental health just being at Unsafeway.Latest discovery...Safeway made the harrassment headlines again as they are cited in David Buss new book, When Men Behave Badly. The checkers forced to smile policy brought them legal problems, and inspired the attached collage.The day the Clover half and half hit the shelf, it was six days away from its expiration date. Where was it for the bulk of its fresher life?If your preferred item is on sale and sells out, do not expect it to be restocked, perhaps for weeks!At the end of the day, I cannot imagine the pure hell of working at Safeway. It is ridiculous to expect a good shopping experience.Who owns this market? The Grinch? Boss Tweed?But, they are tops at one thing...Safeway charges the highest prices!Isnt the collage of angry letters from Safeway shoppers priceless?!

I work just up the street so shop here frequently. The staff have always been kind and courteous. Its a big location, open 24 hours, plenty of parking, kept well stocked with a wide variety of items, and has a Starbucks inside.I usually stop here early in the morning (before 8am) so its never too busy. Lunch time can be a bit busy as expected but they always have a few checkout lines open and self checkout available as well.Prices are reasonable and if you have the Safeway app, you can save with member deals and coupons.

Stopped here to purchase groceries . A few items we needed were out of stock . Store was clean but staff is rude. The lady at the self check out made us feel uncomfortable. She scolded my daughter in law because she asked her for help on a mistake on the screen . Spoke to her rudely . She kept looking at us like we were stealing throughout our checkout .Other self checkouts were being used but we were only ones being looked at . Made us feel unwelcome . Not sure if it due to us being the only Hispanics at the store. This happened Sunday April 23 about 2:30 pm . Will no longer shop at this Safeway .

Safeway at the Crossroads in Carmel...simply the best of all the Safeway stores in our local area. Now this is saying a lot, because the Safeway in Del Rey Oaks, top of the hill in P.G., and Carmel Valley are great! All the stores have top notch customer service...and each store has great staff...but, the Carmel Crossroads store just seems to be better stocked AND has a wider variety of products! Their produce section, which is seemingly smaller than the rest, always has things not carried elsewhere. Like...Lionsmane Mushrooms...Jackfruit...and many other rare to find items. Also, the meat department has such a wider variety of steaks, chops and sausages...and their fish always seems fresher. Again, no shade toward the other stores...but the extra time it takes me to get to Carmel Crossroads store is worth the effort!

This is one of the nicest, cleanest, no homeless people around. If you want to get a chance to meet Ellen DeGeneres or Oprah WinFrey, George Lopez and other Celebrities come at night to this Safeway, Netflix likes this town to record their series and since this Safeway is open 24 hours you might get lucky and meet a Celebrity. In the Morning a lot of people come to this Safeway to get fresh Breakfast made from scratch and get a Starbucks coffee they have a nice area to sit you can use the complementary Wi-Fi, Restrooms are clean and they have fresh organic fruits and Vegetables.

I just want to convey to the person in charge of this store that several of their employees are very racist, today 4.21.23 the person with a white lock was super kind to help all the white customers when I, being Hispanic, asked for help. She approached me with a heavy attitude and said whats up? oh really?? I am a regular customer that not because I am Hispanic my money is worth less, and I confirmed it when I saw her big smile when another customer asked her for help with his transaction, honestly this is unacceptable since they have work with our money.

If you find something you like, there’s a good chance they won’t have it the next time you go shopping for it. This is not because they are sold out, but because they seem to rotate products as if to keep you guessing what will be on the shelf the next time you show up. This is by far the worst Safeway/Kroger store I’ve ever been to.

Very clean quiet grocery store. Well stocked. They have grocery carts that are shaped like cars for your kids to ride in. They had a firetruck, a pink “girly” car, and a police car. Def makes my kid want to grocery shop a little bit more!

Honestly Im not sure what could convince me to give a chain supermarket 5 stars, but this Safeway is close. One of the remaining 24 hour Safeway stores, probably due to a low crime location. Huge and well stocked with an assortment of artisan/specialty products beyond your typical Safeway. What little help I required was friendly. This will likely be my new local Safeway. Del Rey Oaks had its issues that hopefully they can work out... Location is probably key to this discrepancy.

We stopped to get some food and breakfast burritos. The one guy helping us at the deli was good but it took FOREVER for us to be served since only one of the multiple people working behind the counter actually was helping customers. The rest were chopping or wandering around. Really poor customer service experience from the people ignoring the line of customers. I realize some prep needs to happen but it was 8am on a Sunday...it can wait a few minutes, no?

Its a Safeway, average to above average products. No surprises there.The deli department is the weak link. The food quality is average.I suspect they have racists working there. Often I find myself to be invisible to the staff. No smile, no greeting and often I am not served in the order of waiting. I feel they serve whoever they prefer to serve. Obviously, they will never admit to that.

This Safeway underwent a massive remodel several years ago & became one of the best places to go grocery shopping on the Monterey Peninsula. Top notch produce section with an ever-expanding array of organic options. Awesome deli with delicious/huge made-to-order sandwiches, hot & cold prepared food options, sushi, soup & chicken wing bar, plus a Starbucks inside the store. Great floral department with a good selection of gift ideas. Bakery with pre-made options available in-store or custom cakes/pies/etc. can be ordered by calling in. Lots of parking, never overly crowded. Self-checkout is also available during the day, as well as curbside pickup.My only complaint is that any time after about 10 pm, they have a bizarre system of putting a squeaky dog toy near the register & you have to squeeze it to summon someone whos stocking shelves elsewhere to come up front & help you check out....which can take a while.

Safeway is almost always where I Food shop.Great selections for reasonable prices.This location has a nice layout with plenty of checkouts most of the time.Superior restrooms that are clean.Beautiful produce.Bakery up to my standards.One thing is the Olive Bar needs attn daily,Id like to see fresher here less oxidation of goods.(all locations)Otherwise always a pleasant shopping experience for me.Id like to add that Safeway always treats Loki and Baby like Family thank you.

Also, I did buy a large container of the Greek Orzo Salad from the deli and in that large container I got only 3 olives! I go to Safeway (aka Vons) pretty much everywhere I go. I went to this store last night at 8:00pm. The helper at the deli was not very friendly, and he had 2 co-workers that stood around talking while there were people in line behind me. Then when I went to check out there were two cashiers, and 15 people in both lines (next to each other) and the self check out was closed. Neither cashier had any sense of urgency. Laughing and chatting, not a care in the world. If you believe in Covid safety you are not going to have 35 people in the same area. Where was the manager? Why didnt they care about us? It took me 40 minutes to buy 10 items? Never coming back here.

I generally like this store, my issue on this occasion is the lack of cashiers it was 830 am on Sunday with 6 or more people in line and one cashier two people had large orders I was approximately 4 th or 5th in line I had 3 items the maninfront of me had 2 yogurts . The clerk was nice and thanked us for waiting I asked him if he was the only cashier working and he said yes right now. This t not acceptable. Otherwise I love this store.

I have shopped in this store for close to a decade. This morning while shopping I need to use the facilities. I had been in the restroom for around 15 min. While I was on the commode taking care of my needs a woman( I only know this by her voice ) banged on the restroom door with what must have been with all her might. She scream through the door in a dehumanizing way(honestly I would not speak to my dog this way) that I had been in there for a half an hour and threatened to open the door on me. I explained that I was on the commode and would have to finish up before exiting. To which she argued and threatened again. If she would have opened the door and violated my privacy I would have sought counsel to start litigation. She was an employee of the store, I’m sure because she also screamed that the bathroom needed custodial care. I felt assaulted.

This is such a great store! They offer a lot of items to choose from since it is one of the last stories you will come across before leaving Carmel or Big Sur or just heading south on Highway 1. They literally have any anything you can think of except for motor vehicle items. They have a deli, a bakery, a lot of fresh produce but keep in mind, the prices are usually two to three times more expensive then stores more Inland towards the coast. They also have a Chevron station across from it.

OK grocery store but a checkout nightmare. 5 minutes for shopping and 15 minutes to check out, even with the self checkout. After I got everything scanned, I found out the readers dont do Google Pay, so the person overseeing the self checkout section had to cancel my transaction and try to find a reader at another checkstand. She finally got me rung up, but everyone else ar the the self checkout was stuck until she got back. Lesson learned not to shop here unless I have plenty of time to kill

Im on vacation from out of town. I saw online the store is open 24 hours so I came after midnight. I selected what I intended to purchase and waited about 10 minutes at the one regisrer with a light on. No cashier arrived, and I could not find any employees at the front of the store to ask for help. I left my selections on the conveyor and left.

The first major remodel in Carmel to start killing the Carmel feel and making it seem like Southern California. City council in Carmel has been screwing it up with stuff like this for the last 15 years. What is wrong with you guys letting a building like this get passed? I was in the store today and for the second time in two weeks, saw a dog in the grocery cart. This is prohibited by law. Only service dogs-not therapy dogs-are allowed by state law in grocery stores and they are not allowed in the food carts.
