Been living on Bayfarm for over 10 years now so this place has always been clutch when it came to having things I needed in a pinch, the selection of items hasn’t differed too greatly from back then. The older staff have always been nice and friendly, cant say the same for the young adults. Just last week I came in the evening to buy some groceries and this really ticked off teenager double ringed my item, and told me to have a nice day in a very passive aggressive tone, lovely guy.

Terrible cashier and customer service . Not following Safeway policy and I told her other Safeway stores and corporate states if something is mis-priced or mislabeled the cyst should get the item free or a $5 gift card. she said they dont do that. first of al, the pasta Safeway pasta was under the wrong tag says $1.99 (I was charged $4.99. She blamed customer. I showed her the picture I took. She wanted to go and check for herself..she came back and blamed customers abs told me Safeway dose not honor the price $1.99 (which is what I wanted abd I know many Safeways do honor that). (2) the watermelon i was charged $4.99 at first. The sign near the watermelon was 2 for $6 for members and there was another sign for $4.99. There were no cantaloupes in that bin. I did not read the fine print which I told the manager (hardly anyone does; plus there were no cantelopes in that bin). I showed the manager the picture I had its completely different than when the cashier, customer service and produce person (took or had the phone picture that included the cantelopes) Mine was taken before the produce person which showed the cantaloupe by the watermelon (someone definitely put some there after the fact or moved stuff around). The cashier created a big deal about this. I just wanted Safeway to do the right thing but like a lot of corporate business they are not. I never read the fine print; I assume Safeway has their pricing and labeling correct and often I find that its not right at the register thats why i sometimes take picture. There was another bin that had the cantaloupes which I was originally was going to buy but they looked spoiled for 2 for $6. I believe that they forgot to take the cantelope label off since they had another bin that was not full of cantaloupes. I cant believe that cashier went to check the price after I showed her these picture, called customer service and then the produce department when I asked for a manager and finally a manage. In the meantime customers behind were getting upset abs even one said I will give $5 and I said no; its not about the money and its about doing safeway right thing. I actually had to swear to God that I didnt move the packages of the pasta and I swear that the cantelopes were not in the bin where the watermelon were. After, I showed the manager my picture she to them to give me the price of 2 for $6; yet the produce person was still arguing with me...I told her Im don. They never corrected the pasta. The whole time while the produce person was there and the cashier abd the manager I was shaking and my blood pressure went up. The customer service man left after I asked if he was the manage abs he said no since I did ask for the manager…he did try to take their side abs I said there were only watermelons in that bin (he was always doing the right thing in the past). Im still distraught by this whole thing and Im shaking now. I vowed never to go to this Safeway on 867 island dr. Alameda ca 94502. I dont have faith in Humanity and trust that corporatio. Its really sad over a couple dollar. Im sorry for the customers behind me. Im tired of being bullied by bad customer service abd corporation.

Recently shopped at Island Drive, and unfortunately left dog food behind by accident - with the help of the store manager William managed to work out it was left in the cart in the parking lot, as he took the time to check. Though it seemed someone else shopping that day got a free bag, as a courtesy the store manager extended a replacement bag to me which was greatly appreciated. Will continue to shop at Safeway regularly!

So… I got scammed, and I’m not the kind of person that gets scammed and I will admit it was 10000000% my fault that I got scammed. I was buying gift cards for my “boss” (I was sleep deprived also if that helps my case) and the store got very annoyed with me. I want to thank the store manager because even though she was mad af at me she was kind. My particular issue was Sonya, who I called several hours later because my bank told me to. While my voice was LITERALLY trembling in the middle of the call saying “I was wondering if you could canc-“ she cut me off and said “Nosorrybye” she was about to hang up and I had to beg her to wait and just hear me out. I understand there was nothing she could do, but customer service is supposed to at least give a pity “I’m so sorry that happened to you, unfortunately we can’t do anything” I’m personally just venting but I can just tell this is how she talks to customers. I don’t want her to get fired but maybe like an apology or some training in customer service. Again her name is Sonya or Sonia, I don’t remember how it is spelled. She was working customer service at 7 pm on 8/1/23.

For the second time, I buy a gift card that does not work or has been used by someone. It is a really bad store, and I will not return to it again, and I do not advise anyone to go to it. They deliberately scam the gift card because they know that the money cannot be refunded.

This place was not an ideal everyday grocery store. I usually love Safeways but this particular location I was not too fond of. Bad customer service and it lacked many of the items i was seeking at the time. The prices seemed to be more expensive than usual.

I’ve lived near this Safeway my whole life and have gone there for my groceries regularly and it was pretty good, however I have always had terrible experiences with the store director Brad. He is always unprofessional and whenever I need assistance from higher up than just the baggers he has always given me attitude. He has no respect for the customers and is never timely. I always have to wait at least 30 minutes to talk to him. He will never look me in the eye when we talk and he’s always quite brutish. I hope Safeway finds a better store leader because honestly he’s ruining the whole store’s reputation. The baggers and checkers are always sweet though and try their best but seriously there needs to be a change if Safeway wants to keep its costumers.

I placed at this safeway for pick up and i am very happy i did. I have a baby who hates going to the grocery and i just had to try the drive and go. They were fast and have awesome customer service. I was there at 5:09 and the girl who helped me was awesome

If they could ever get the deli department correct and you dont have to wait an hour for a sandwich that would be nice. Big huge turnover in deli department and nobody wants to make sandwiches. Sad situation. I will give this safe way one star. The pharmacy is excellent though.

This Safeway is so inconsistent. It has earned the name Moscow Safeway in our household because it always has huge holes on the shelves where product should be. For example, today it was milk. No 2% of any kind, not gallons, half gallons, organic, conventional, you name it. One quart carton of 1/2 & 1/2, mangled and crushed. The last time I went in, it was chicken. No organic chicken breasts, no small-ish packets of chicken breasts, only massive packages of conventional.Often, they wont have stuff that is on special in the ad. Their signage of said specials is terrible too. Sometimes its there, sometimes not. I often have to pull out my phone and open the Safeway app to see what exactly to get because it is not marked as a special from the ad or site.Overall, it seems like a poorly managed store.

This a very nice safeway on bayfarm Island. Its clean. Rarely so busy i want to walk out..but I think safeway is expensive..799 for a premade sandwich is high to me. Reviewing a safeway or a lucky is like Reviewing coke or Pepsi, people are going to drink what they like and shop usually close to home

The employees seem to be nicer at this Safeway location which is refreshing. Prefer this location over others. However, watch the scanning and check your receipt carefully. I have been over charged 8 out of 10 times.

Main island Safeway has way nicer staff. Last night I was talked to beyond rude by a employee, I get they were going to be closing but no right to say what she did, how she did. there is only maybe 3 women there and one guy that are nice and the manger. Before this we had to deal with a creepy guy making me and my minor sister uncomfortable everytime we would come in to shop. The last time he made a nasty comment to me and I finally reported it, im thankful for the manger for making that right to where I dont have to be uncomfortable to come shop for food. But staff needs a talk to about being POLITE to customers or they need different employees. Ill be talking to the manger soon about the lady last night.

They sell spoiled meat half the meat was spoiled when I bought some. The meat was rancid and the smell hit me in the face hard when I got home. and they still sold it with air filling the meat in the plastic. I had to drive back 15 minutes to return it with no compensation other than the return of the meat. Yeah customer service helped me but when I addressed the spoiled meat they werent surprised like it happens often. I didnt even need to open the bag where I had the spoiled meat the customer service person smelled it before I even opened it! When I told them about the air in half their meat they were like oh yeah the gas build up. How do u not inspect your store especially the meat before you open up? This place needs new management not the first time this has happened of selling expired food if I hadnt smelled the rancid meat upon opening I would have been very sick. I dont recommend buying stuff here.

I would have given them a five star rating if it wasnt for customers causing problems and people with wic checks to make the experience tiresome. It is a shame because they had lots of stuff 50% off. I would have gotten more stuff because I love chocolates, they would have melted in my truck. Maybe next time, I love getting things for half off!

The guy who was working the deli sandwich counter gave me an attitude when I told him kindly not put mayonnaise on my sandwich and didnt hear me the first time so I raised my voice and repeated myself. Who the hell does he think he is to have the audacity to treat customers with such disrespect? If I were the manager of this establishment and had noticed him treating customers like this, I would have fired him right on the spot. Maybe it doesnt ever cross his small mind that my money Im paying helps to support his salary. Theyve lost me as a customer.

Not a bad selection, close to work. Like every Safeway, they have indecently long lines. Unlike the other Safeways Ive been to, the cashiers here dont even pretend to hurry. They move in slow motion, almost. Spend more time in line than actually shopping.

Youre most likely rolling the dice if you go here. Usually a disappointment in selection. Even staples like bread, milk, eggs are often out of stock. They never have more than 2 cashlanes open. Butcher is nonexistent when you need them. Ill happily drive the extra 10 minutes to South Shore.

The safeway on main island, though huge, at around midnight, they only have like one check stand and its a nightmare. Id much rather come here. Parking is good, they have everything you need and youre in and out with time to spare. They dont have self-checkout, and sometimes the checker can be slightly slow, but theyre OK in general.

Comparing with south shore Safeway on main Alameda island, this one has evidently less selections. Some of the check outs arent very courteous. They even let staff served at the check out point while he was having serious cold and running nose. I had to hold my Dutch crunch bread with my own hand to let him scan. Didnt want him to touch the bread to avoid transmitting the sickness :(Also be sure to double check before you pay in cash. Some of the staffs werent very honest in giving changes back or pretending people wouldnt care. But we do. Id advise the manager keep an eye for those staffs.

Safe is da way for groceries. Get the safeway app and use the manufacturer coupons and j4u to save mula. You can check out super safeway which compiles all the good deals. If you want food, go to Safeway. Somethings the coupons may exceed the price and you can get extra money for shopping but thats pretty rare. Good luck shopping at Safeway!
