No doubt about their service as we expect as customers. There is one annoying thing that bothers me and many other customers. Im a self-checkout user because Im living close by, and I can buy my needs in multiple portions. One of the Safeway crews, a 60-70 years old asian lady, who is responsible for taking care of self check customer service, comes toward you and when you are going to start scanning items, she jumps on the survey and fills it up. This is inappropriate since these surveys are designed to collect customers opinions, not the Safeway members desires.If you are reading this comment, please consider.

After paying for some breakfast and lunch for the day, I was on my way out looking for where to leave my basket, and a security guard and grocery employee both ran to the door where the security guard demanded to see my receipt. I was relatively shocked as I’ve seen about 100 shopliftings and never seen a security guard lift a finger to stop people from ransacking stores, but for some reason it was worth sprinting to stop and check my bag and receipt.If you only have self checkout available and charge people for bags, don’t accost me at 8am after SEEING ME GO THROUGH CHECKOUT and putting it in my reusable bag.

Join the club for special prices, free products, and gas rewards. The meat was good but with a limited selection of cuts. Fresh fish and meats can be found in the butcher block section. Produce was well stock with fresh fruits and vegetables. I had a tasty black forest and havarti sandwich and potato salad from the delicatessen. There is a wide selection of organic produce locally source from nearby farms.

Sadly our Safeway account on the app doesn’t work well… repeat issues here and not sure why. The CS person in the self checkout section was very nice and helpful… but not sure why our phone number and pre-clipped coupons never seem to work 🤷🏻‍♀️ super frustrating but again, luckily, we had a nice CS person help us! Else, we wouldn’t have completed our purchase! So 4 stars for the CS service in self check out this evening! 12/5/23

I brought hot chicken wings it supposed to taste spicy but still of that it was too salty we couldnt even enjoyed I am telling you it was too salty they shouldnt been selling them or should have warning or something I am very disappointed I had never that problem in the past it happened at Safeway at 7bavenue in SF .So I called them to let them know and they said I was that only person having problems with the chicken no one been reported same problem and bla bla bla 😔😞

This Safeway is really stepping up to help the local community! 🤩The city/state doesn’t get enough taxes or money to help with homelessness and mental health so this Safeway has taken it on themselves to pilot a program where anyone can just walk and and grab whatever and casually stroll out like a food bank.

Generally a decent store in a decent and relatively safe location. Two cautions as with any Safeway: one, keep an eye on sell-by dates and watch for (for example) bites out of minimally packaged foods such as loaves of bread. Two, read all 2-fer or buy x, get y for z tags extra carefully. They want to to think an item is a 2-for-1 when its really buy one and get the second for half off. Just read the tags very closely and youll find theres a lot less savings than it would appear. Prices, though, overall, are still better than most independent/smaller/neighborhood groceries.

The pharmacy is amazing. I have never encountered a more hepful, caring and courteous pharmacy staff. They are an absolute pleasure to deal with. Customer service is alive and well here. Other pharmacies could learn a lot from the way they operate. I am so thankful for their dedicated service. 🙏

The parking lot is adequate, but the spaces feel tight. The store is located in a neighborhood, and is seems like a calm store. The store is clean inside, and I usually find what Im looking for. They dont have a full bakery like the La Playa location.Several self checkout machines, and the checkout stands didnt have long lines. Produce is plentiful & fresh. They have a bathroom located in produce, up the stairs.

Decent selection of food and various other snacks, drinks, liquor, beer, etc. the vegetables are hot and miss sometimes so make sure you check. The lines usually move decent but if you come later in the evening be prepared to have a slower checkout process. The cashier late at night could use a little more personality and respect for customers. Even when thanked and trying to make light conversation she just gave attitude and was short and snide. Other than the cashier everything else was great.

Some staff put a cart in the middle of hallway and accused sarcastically to costumers of having a “nice driving”. This is unprofessional and she should’ve have taught to not put a cart blocking the way and blame costumers for colliding their cart.

Small standard Safeway store in the Inner Richmond. Its my local Safeway, and I shop here often. The selection isnt as great as other larger stores, but it definitely has any essentials you may need and more. The store is usually clean and well maintained. The staff have always been friendly to me. There is an adjacent parking lot, as well as a variety of nearby transit options.

I would give 0 stars if possible. I arrived at 11:45 after a 10 min drive and was told by security that they were closed early do to an incident. Clean, well stocked store with friendly staff and NEWLY ADDED SELF CHECKOUT! The checkout lines move quickly. Theres always an abundance of CLEAN, SANITIZED carts and hand baskets with additional hand & cart sanitizerd right inside the door. The only negative would be that the parking lot often fills up quickly (most likely a neighborhood parking problem).

Everyone, CHECK your receipts! This store overcharged me twice in 1 day. Items were on sale, in the weekly ad, yet they charged full price. Almost lost $13 dollars. Shown the staff my receipt and items in the ad and they fixed it and the staff told me their computer system malfunctioned. Its troubling this way, but Safeway is no longer safe for you to shop. Many asian employees there are not helpful, always heads down, pretending to focus at their work, and worst is the skinny asian guy, Alfred.If you look up 15ft, above the self checkout, there is a sign if they overcharge over $5 or less, your item(s) is/are free. Mine happened to be $13, so it didnt work. But next time..if there is next time. I go to Smart and Final couple of blocks away for now.

Much larger selection of organic goods, as well as a larger than normal selection of groceries than your average Safeway. I believe it is due to the location of this particular store. No matter what day of the week and what hour of the day I cannot find any Signature Lemon Lime no sugar Soda on the shelves. I am lucky if I can find one carton once in a while, whereas the shelves are overflowing with sugar full of all different sodas. Went here tonight 1 hour and thirty minutes before closing and the security guard leaning on the carts in the cart corral was talking to a woman who worked there, apparently, and I undid one of the carts like Ive done 1000 times before, and instead of saying anything directly to me, he throws his hands up and says THEY do what THEY do!! absolutely frustrated with me and all the THEYS I resemble. I said do you not want me to take a cart? He actually couldnt speak because he was so surprised that ME and THEY speak English. He said nothing coherent. Their lines are often quite long. I know its because theyre popular, and they can have every lane open and still be busy, but maybe they need to work on their staffing so ringers arent bagging as well. Or build more lanes. I do respect Safeway and their commitment to sustainability. And the people are generally nice. Theres one cashier who gives me grief for no reason (looks like a roadie) and one dude in the deli who gives me tiny portions (Greg), but mostly theyre cheerful and hard-working and nice to interact with.

Went at 915am on a Sunday. A lot of things were still being stocked. Layout and organization is not super ideal, but more than that is that items arent where youd expect them to be - tortilla chips are sparse on the chip aisle but pop up in 3 other places at end caps for product placement adjacent to salsa, etc.Variety of items in stock is low compared to other Safeways - this branch has a much smaller footprint I think.

This Safeway is amazing. It has everything i look for. I have been looking for tzatziki in the other safeways. They dont have none or maybe they do not know what Im talking. But i met this very nice young lady I think her name Precella . She help me find everything i need. Not only that i have been looking for couscous since it was my only dinner i planned for the night. There one you would think that should set the example, definitely wasnt overly friendly, but at least a subordinate, not sure in my opinion, opened her Lane just to check me out. But isnt that usually how it works, the ones that think theyre better than usually get there supervisory jobs, while the people that just think of themselves as regular people, get the jobs of regular people. When will we, the regular people step up, so that is regular people can be treated as valued customer by the establishment!

I just caught a manager an asian woman at my local safeway here on 7th ave, and I actually caught her today making fun of an employee a young man today, His name tag said Briley as well, she really upset this young man who was working and trying to do his best and she was very rude to him even called him dumb. I am not sure if this young man quit today but he has some grounds to sue for harrassment.

Very convenient location. I like how it’s just a very short distance from my home. I just have to walk up the block and BOOM! If youre a fan of waiting in line for 15+ minutes, you will absolutely love this place. Last night I left my basket full of items on a nearby table because the wait to checkout was completely unreasonable. This isnt the first time either. For whatever reason, there are never enough checkouts open (normally two out of the six or seven), while lines just continue to increase in size and people lose their patience.

Supposedly a 24 hour location, but Ive never tested this. Might be one of the smallest Safeway stores in town. Good deli. Not sure if you can get custom cakes here, but I dont think so. They never, ever have the express lane open anymore except on super busy holidays so if you are in search of lunch I would suggest you seek elsewhere because they dont want your business. Everytime I go to this location the guard at the door always profiles my friends and I. He follows us to every aisle we go to even though we are shopping like every else. This has happened 4 times.Two week ago, we went again and one of the cashiers was extremely rude. Not only did he make race comments, he also saw that a homeless guy was harassing me in the line and he just laughed. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience.I came to the conclusion that this location is extremely racist and I will not support this type of behavior.

Each time I find myself dragged here by laziness or a lack of time, I find myself remembering why I prefer to support local stores. The produce is never great, the lines get long, some of the sales are just the store raising prices for a week to make an item look like its on deep discount, and though some of the employees are nice, there are two permagrumps whose lines Ive learned to avoid. The only decent thing is that the run-of-the-mill alcohol they stock is super cheap. If only I could improve my experience of the store by being able to drink it there.

Its smaller than the Safeway near the beach, but is nonetheless full service with a decent deli. It gets pretty busy around dinnertime so expect to stand in line to check out if you go then. I dont drive there but between their parking lot and local streets, there seems to be sufficient parking. The 44 Muni bus stops at that corner, too.

Its convenient for me to walk to, but its routinely understaffed and understocked. Lines are horrendous during peak hours. During non-peak hours, only a couple check out stations will be open and lines will still be long. There are quite a few grocery items that I like that they never carry or no longer carry. I usually have to visit another grocery store to get all the items I need.

Its like an oversized convenience store. If you think of it that way then you wont be as disappointed.Most of the produce here is basically 2 days away from being rotten, and it still costs you a kajillion dollars.Store seems unresponsive to local demand (e.g. they removed all of the truly diabetic-friendly ice cream for unknown reasons; maltitol still raises insulin, look it up).Sometimes theres a good deal on bacon at the meat counter. There were some rude service people working at this Safeway. On November 11th, a little before 3:45 pm, I got into a bit of trouble with two ladies working at the area where they make and sell trays of sushi. I asked in a very uncertain, not at all mean, tone if I could exchange my sushi because the lid was loose, and just outside the Safeway entrance, it had almost fell out when I was trying to reposition all the groceries. Knelt down very close to the ground trying to sort everything better. The baggage lady had put in the tray of sushi sideways, which really isn’t a good idea. As soon as I tried to took it out, the lid came off, and the sushi were threatening to fall out. They were halfway out, and I used my fingers to stop it, but the tray were only inches from the cement ground. I wasn’t sure if the sushi hadn’t touch the ground, I wasn’t certain it hadn’t. I tried to exchange my tray for a new one, one lady started yelling at me, telling me that if I’ve already bought it, it wasn’t their problem.Even if you don’t think I should be able to exchange my sushi, you could’ve told me calmly. I didn’t scream at you, I simply asked if they would let me exchange it. I didn’t say it was their fault, I told them that the baggage lady had put in the tray sideways.They need to be more courteous, don’t scream at customers. I hope that one lady that screamed at me gets reprimanded, and I wish to be notified after she does. I’m no angel, so I’m just gonna say that it would bring me great satisfaction to see her get screamed at.

Can you say makeover? This Safeway store used to be dowdy and Dull. Somebody executed a fabulous makeover and the store is now a pleasure to shop in. Look, its just a Safeway, and the lines are usually long here. But as Safeways go, this is a good one. Lots of college kids, away from home for the first time, are here buying food with their roommates. International tourists, visiting the nearby attractions at Golden Gate Park, come here to buy some good sandwiches and salads, instead of the museum food. And locals get their day-to-day grocery shopping basics here.

Their graveyard crew needs better management. Last nights issue was the batshit crazy customer totally lost it and was escorted out- ( not staffs fault,chick was mental!) But that the card that voids the sale cant be found after 30 mins and switching registers was all that could be done-Two weeks ago the registers froze and the gal in the office didnt know how to fix it so we stood in line while she was on hold. Although a smaller, neighborhood Safeway, they tend to have a good selection of produce, fish and meats. No Safeway Select items, but they do carry Ranchers Reserve. Wine and beer aisles have a good variety of options and there is a great selection of cheeses. They do run low or out of eggs on occasion, but other than that the overall selection is good. They also have a deli and sandwich counter as well as a Redbox inside.

Terrible. They seem to have serious staffing issues as there are never enough cashiers. They never have more than 3 tills open and the wait times are frequently 15-30 minutes during busier times (6-9). Youd think that they would simply staff more people during those hours.

This is a good Safeway compared to some others, but the parking is totally inadequate. Its too small for the amount of shoppers they get and parking on the street is out of the question. The Manager is efficient and helpful, so are check-out clerks.

The store was nice but when I came it was overrun packed. I was new to town and needed a card to receive savings so I had to wait in a 20 min line at the checkout due to limited personal working. And I was ok with that but then I was told to go to customer service where the person went on break. The Safeway in the Richmond (around 7th Ave) isnt a full supermarket. For example, it doesnt have have a full bakery, but it does have a bit of all the basics and all the same Safeway sales. One could use it for a full grocery trip if needed, but if you have a car, there are other Safeways with a lot more selection not too far away.

I’m an Instacart shopper and I go into a lot of Safeway’s daily. I am not a big drinker so I always ask for help if I can’t find something after looking for it. There was an employee that was windexing the alcohol case I asked her for her help and she told me that she can no help me. I showed her the item and told her that I looked for it she said go to the next isle and find it yourself I can not help you. Ok whatever I spoke to the manager Griselda and she kindly apologized and offered to help me.I came back because I had another order after the previous delivery and when I got to check out Connie and lee and the rude woman before were talking in their language infront of me laughing and being rude. When I got to Connie I said good morning she went on ignored me and then the language and laughing and stares started after I guess because I told the manager how rude the employee was for not helping me. I love living in the Bay Area and love that it’s s melting pot of different people however to not greet a customer (wether or not I am a Instacart shopper or a regular customer) and to talk their own language infront of me laugh and be rude is horrible customer service. The place is clean and pleasant -- from an architectural perspective.The employees are relatively friendly, as there are some bad apples working there as well.However it is still CORPORATE! The Bay Area offers many non-corporate (small business) creamrys that make exquisite ice cream. Bi-Rite (who in my opinion has the best chocolate ice cream in the SF Bay Area) Mitchels, Polly Anne, Three Twins et al all make excellent ice creams (with unusual flavours as well).However, Safeway being corporate ONLY seems to stock the big corporate ice creams Dreyers, Breyers, their own brand Select Berkeley Farms, Ben & Jerrys etc. Which is fine, but not necessarily exceptional!I would think that Safeway would drum up even more business by featuring (carrying -- reserving some shelf space) some of the local brands as well as their rather limited corporate brands. But they are missing out as apparently Safeway has apparently signed contracts of kick-backs with these very few brands -- which again are mediocre. And thats a shame!

Not 24 hour as advertised. Waste of time... apparently Safeway has decided that all of San Francisco doesnt need s a 24 hour site but Alameda needs two of them. I usually go after two in the morning because going during the day often results in spending as much time in line as picking out the groceries. So take your ambien at 8pm every night like a good San Franciscan and use grub hub and eat 24 three times a day. That way you wont have to keep converting your bathroom into your kitchen in your micro apartment so often.
